Fantastic experience: I am from out of town and went in for an emergency visit. From the receptionist to Dr.PatelI and his assistant I was promptly taken care of and treated.

Fantastic experience: I am very confident in the dentists and hygienist at the smiles at Carolina Forrest location. I have been a patient for about ten years and always feel well taken care of. I also enjoy the environment and people working at smiles.

I would also like to add that RAVEN is very pleasant and professional and she sings, that's a plus in my book. Thank you all and I will be seeing you all soon to continue the planned work on my smile.

Fantastic experience: First impressions are lasting impressions!!! Excellent staff! Everyone is so warm and welcoming. They don’t make you feel less than for having not so good teeth. My procedures will be pricey, but it hasn’t even crossed my mind to look for cheaper. I had 5 teeth pulled by Dr.Patel today and Dr.Thompson will be taking care of crowns and root canals in a few weeks. I truly truly appreciate how they made me feel on my first visit last week. Cannot recommend them and their staff enough! Also, you don’t have to wait 6 months to get in for an emergency. That’s a win!

Fantastic experience: I go to the dentist every Six months. I have always had a great visit. I have my teeth cleaned by Destiny. She does an awesome job. Dr. Kaitlyn Thompson is a great dentist. I have had braces (Invisalign's) with her also.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE Smiles at Carolina Forest. From reception to the assistants it’s A+ service but even better they make you feel so comfortable and welcome. It’s refreshing to go into a place with such good vibes. I have a phobia of the dentist and yesterday I successfully had a cavity drilled without having to be put to sleep. I missed my appointment a half dozen times out of anxiety and fear. On top of it I FORGOT MY EAR BUDS The dental assistant was absolutely amazing. She was so comforting and went the extra mile she even sang Beyoncé. The doctor was quick but incredibly thorough. My tooth is back to knew and I didn’t freak out. Absolutely amazing! 10 out of 10. Can’t say enough about the dental assistant I’m a huge ass and don’t remember her name. She needs a raise and a bonus!

Fantastic experience: I fractured a tooth, so of course I had no appointment. I explained my problem to the young lady at the front desk, she went back to talk with the dentist. Within an hour I was sitting in the dental chair getting taken care of. From the front desk to the hygienist, to the dentist, to billing, everyone was there to assist me and make me feel comfortable. I'd recommend Smiles at Carolina Forest to anyone in a heart beat!

Fantastic experience: Hygenist was changed without my knowledge and given to a.woman who had no clue how to clean teeth and gums. She barely scraped anywhere special. Just a little touch here and there. Had fluoride applied if you wa t to call it that , 2 little dabs, done in total 20 minutes counting xrays.Liked my hygenist and find it inexcusable to be switched without my knowledge. Told i had to see same woman again. Not gonna happen as i am looking for a new dental office

Fantastic experience: Hygienists I have had have been excellent. They are very friendly, efficient and caring. The dentist, Dr Thompson, examined me and identified a tooth with a fracture that will require a crown. I have scheduled the procedure and will update my review after the crown is completed. The cost of the crown is comparable to other crowns I have had. It is approximately $1,000 before insurance adjustments. The front office got my procedure scheduled exactly one week after my exam.

Negative experience: Avoid Smiles at Carolina Forest - Billing Nightmare and Zero Customer Service I am writing this review to warn potential patients about the absolute disaster that is Smiles at Carolina Forest's billing department. My experience with this practice, though brief and involving only basic care covered by two insurance policies, has been nothing short of a nightmare. Months after moving out of the area, I received a baffling bill for $160. Given my comprehensive dual insurance coverage, this was shocking. Upon contacting their billing department, I was met with complete incompetence. The staff member could not, or would not, provide a clear explanation as to why my insurance had not fully covered the services. Instead of offering a simple breakdown, I was told they would send me the "explanation of benefits," a 21-page document filled with impenetrable medical and financial jargon. When I requested further clarification, I was met with a brick wall of refusal. To add insult to injury, I was subsequently contacted by a collections agency, demanding immediate payment of a now inflated $200+ balance. This egregious lack of communication and the forced escalation to collections is unacceptable. I was essentially coerced into paying to avoid further damage to my credit, despite the complete lack of transparency from Smiles at Carolina Forest. The billing staff’s inability to explain basic charges and their unwillingness to assist patients in understanding their bills is appalling. Their "solution" of dumping a complex document on a patient and then refusing to help interpret it is a clear sign of either incompetence or deliberate obfuscation. My advice: Stay far away from Smiles at Carolina Forest. Their billing practices are predatory and their customer service is non-existent. You will be better served by a practice that values transparency and patient understanding. Proceed with extreme caution, and good luck if you dare to deal with them.

Fantastic experience: Extremely kind office .They were so understanding and much cheaper for Invisalign! They saved me about 2000 but the bed side manor by the Dr & assistant were a blessing!!! Thank u all!

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient at Smiles at Carolina Forest so I did not know what to expect when I arrived for my appointment. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the staff were. They all showed genuine concern for my dental concerns. I met the dentist and we discussed a course of action regarding my dental needs. She answered all of my questions and did not make me fill rushed in any way. I highly recommend them.

Negative experience: Did xrays twice in one year without permission. Then charged me for the second set since insurance only pays for trays once a year. Then sent to collections when I tried to work out insurance payment. They knew this. Not the first time I have had billing problems with them. Very hard to fond a knowledgeable billing person in that office. Been going there since opened.

Negative experience: Had my 6 months cleaning and have to say I’m very unhappy. I always see Ashley and if she isn’t there for some reason the hygienist I usually get has been good. I understand that sometimes this happens. When it does you have to accept it and take who you are assigned to. But last week I was not pleased with the hygienist that filled in for Ashely. This girl was nice but she did not do a good cleaning. Did not clean my bottom teeth on the left side at all. No checking for plaque, no flossing and no polish at all on that side. Of course, I know you got paid for a cleaning but I don’t think I got a cleaning. I don’t normally do a review on anything but feel that I need to say with this cleaning, I don’t have a lot of plaque but all my teeth should be cleaned at every appointment by any hygienist that works there.

Positive experience: Receptionist made me feel like I should have called in my new insurance info prior to my showing up for the appointment. Only concern was in them getting paid. Denise, hygienist, made the rest of my visit as pleasant as could be at a dentist.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and very knowledgeable staff! I’m super happy they figured out what is wrong with my tooth. Previous dentist had told me I had a crown but that’s not what they really did and I’ve been having problems for a year and a half. Glad I will be able to get this fixed at this new office and that I know what has been going on.

Fantastic experience: My dental hygienist was both professional and kind during my 6 month cleaning. The dental assistant was very helpful and answered my questions considering my procedure. Dr Partel is always professional and knowledgeable of my dental conditions. I love this office and staff.

The exam by the dental technician made me feel comfortable and confident that the information I received was accurate. I was further impressed that Smiles was able to accommodate my request for further examination that same day. Dr. Patel and staff make you feel that they are genuinely engaged and care about your care and wellbeing.

Fantastic experience: So far so good, told them what I wanted done and they were understanding of what I needed and wanted and didn’t try to push a bunch of useless work on me just to make money. And from what I’ve seen in the area, (with insurance) the prices are reasonable. Definitely my new dentist.

Fantastic experience: I am the worst when it comes to going to the dentist, I have bad anxieties and therefore only go when I really have to which I know it’s bad. I moved down from NY about two years ago and found it hard to find a dentist who will understand my anxieties and who would have the patience for me. I went to Smiles at Carolina Forest and didn’t know what to expect, I have to say that the staff was more than pleasant and made me feel comfortable. Dr Thompson was amazing, she has a calming voice and walked me through every step as she knew how nervous I was. She has amazing hands, I never felt the needle for the very first time, I loved her and feel much better, I have made my second appointment, thank you, thank you, thank you for making me feel comfortable and for your patience, I am hopeful that this will be my new dental going forward.

Negative experience: My girlfriend went to get two teeth pulled, and they refused her any pain medication for afterwards. Her two teeth were abscessed in her jaw, and the dentist wasn’t gentle. She was in pain during and after the extraction, and despite this they said it’s not standard practice to provide a pain medication…. We both have had teeth pulled before, and we know that it is common practice to provide some form of pain management. The receptionists at smiles need to relearn customer service, because they are insensitive and snobbish. They care more about making money than helping people, and it shows in how they treat people.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at Smiles! On my first visit, everyone I had contact with were friendly, knowledgeable and didn't push services on me...as other practices have. For me, this practice is a good fit. Dr Patel is very patient oriented and will listen to your concerns or issues. Ashley, my hygienist, is a peach! She answered all my questions and did great work. Due to time and what was needed to be done, I needed a follow-up to complete work from my first visit and I was able to get the work done the following week. Very satisfied with the outcome.

Negative experience: The hygienist was extremely rough. Pushing her tools excessively into my teeth. I was half off the chair from moving away by the end. She was digging under my gum tissue way too far. The dentist couldn't even bother to take his bright headlamp off to speak with me afterwards and I had to look down to keep from being blinded. Receptionist had me stand there for 5 to 6 mins while she attempted something, I'm not sure what as I already had another appointment scheduled. Then told me to leave and then made me come back to pay. I will not go there again. My mouth hurt the whole rest of the day for just a cleaning.

Negative experience: Ashley is the best! Been going here for years. Now with that said. Called in to reschedule my general cleaning and was told they could not get me in till May of 2025 (6 months from today) called around to other places and was able to get in within 2 weeks. I called the front desk to let them know I would not be rescheduling and cancel my appointment. The individual I was speaking to, took it kinda hard and said okay and proceeded to hang up with an attitude. Before she could hang up I asked her for release papers to give to my new dentist. She said she would be emailing the form that I have not received. Im just hoping that the email system is not backed up for 6 months too. Update got an email reminding me that my appointment was coming up after I called 4 days ago to cancel. Called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and apparently there's not one at the call center. (Hard to believe) asked about the email I was supposed to receive and was advised to go online to get it instead of waiting on the email. I also asked if my appointment was canceled and she said no. Might want to review the calls as they are recorded thanks Melinda from the call center.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough how great this business is. Dr Patel is absolutely great. Front office staff, and every assistant there is very kind and helpful. Even if there is an issue they make every opportunity to work with you and get things resolved. Personally I’ve never been to a better dentist office! 100 out of 10!

Fantastic experience: I wish that I knew about smiles years ago. I don’t know how long they have been in Carolina Forest, but they are the best compared to where I did go to! After Covid I’ve been to the dentist that I’ve dealt with for 10 years with bad results & opinion's. Overall I would recommend Smiles, you are greater from the beginning to the end with great people and Dr (dentist)! I’d give them a 10!!

Fantastic experience: It’s hard finding a dentist when you moved from NJ. Dr. Thompson was great. She did a lot of explaining and said she’d put some areas on the chart and next time she may recommend something to be done. Ashley did a great job cleaning my teeth. Great staff very happy experience.

Positive experience: Been going here for a few years now. Everyone is always friendly. It's usually super cold in the office so bring a sweater. This time I was disappointed because I had to wait for nearly 30 minutes for the dentist to come in for less than 2 minutes. I'm sure my insurance will get billed for that!

Negative experience: They offer the services I need but for whatever reason didn’t want to provide the service and referred me to a different dentist who doesn’t take my insurance. When going to the dentist is not something you enjoy it takes a lot to get up the courage to go just to be told to go somewhere else when they perform all the services right there. They referred me to someone all the way down in Pawley’s Island which is about an hour from my home.
