Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Maycer Dental for over 3 years now. From the beginning I was satisfied, a happy patient. The front desk is run by Anna who simply loves people whether you are a patient or not. Her Manager is the same. The two might be family related. Dr. Cervantes gives great care. Though I have been seen by a few hygienists, Kelly Myers is on the top of the list. Ms. Myers cares for your teeth as an artist. She examines them one by one, spending the right amount of time all around each tooth. As she performs state of the art evaluation of the mouth, Ms. Myers gives great mouth hygiene advice. Fantastic experience: They just opened a new location. It’s clean and the staff is very friendly. I love Michelle! She has been cleaning my teeth for over 10 years , she is gentle and I refuse to go to any other dentist office . Dr. Qadeer is also very nice and is upfront and honest . They also provide in house insurance , affordable and reasonable prices .

Negative experience: This place offers incentives in exchange for Google/Yelp reviews. I was referred by a friend who received a voucher for my referral. My experience did not meet expectation. The reception staff was rude and impatient. I had to follow up twice for pictures of my x-rays. I needed fillings and had to wait a while on the operating chair before the dentist got to me. After the procedure, my bites felt uncomfortable enough that I had to get it redone at a different place.

Fantastic experience: I took my mother in law to Mesa Dental as recommended by a family friend. It was a great experience since the moment we talked to the front desk, working with the assistants and meeting with the doctor. My mother in law does not speak English very well but Ana the DA made her feel very comfortable and welcomed. We have follow up appointments that we are looking forward to come to! Thank you so much

Negative experience: I moved to San Diego about 7 years ago for school but would get all my dental work done in my hometown during my summer and winter breaks. However, after I graduated and began to work, I had to get a dentist in the San Diego area and chose Mesa Dental out of the convenience of its location and good reviews. Unfortunately, even though I only went in twice for cleanings, my experience with them was subpar. The first time I went in, I felt extremely judged by the woman checking me in. I wasn't completely familiar with how to update my insurance, and the receptionist was very impatient with me as a result. However, the wait time was short and the dental hygienists were friendly. Dr. Qadeer was welcoming too. My second cleaning, on the other hand, was really a terrible experience. Again, short wait time and friendly hygienist. However, whoever took my x-rays seemed pretty inexperienced since it took many tries for her to get x-rays that she was satisfied with (more on this later). I also never spoke to Dr. Qadeer during this visit. Maybe this is typical in these larger clinics (my preferred dental clinic in my hometown is much smaller) but it felt weird that he never came to talk to me face-to-face. I asked the hygienist if I could see him anyway, and she asked me why do I need to? She said she could answer any of my concerns, of which I did have one. I let her know I was worried about potential gum recession I've been experiencing. She said because my gums didn't bleed when she was flossing them, I shouldn't be concerned about it and that it was probably just due to aggressive brushing. In retrospect, I wish I'd pushed harder to speak with the dentist. But again, recent college grad who's still learning to advocate for herself. Well, I've returned to my original dentist back home after a few years of not seeing them and the difference between the two clinics is night and day. First, the dental hygienist and dentist both said that the x-rays taken at Mesa Dental were very messy. There were teeth missing from my scans, despite it being a full set. Second, my dental hygienist really took her time looking at my teeth, and let me know that my periodontal pockets have eroded quite significantly, contributing to a lot of gum recession. Unlike the hygienist at Mesa Dental, she walked me through how I can fix this issue. The dentist also came to look at my teeth, which really does seem like the bare minimum to me, but I appreciate it nonetheless. TLDR: I'm grateful my teeth are usually in good condition since Mesa Dental really does not take their time with their patients, which could've led to far worse issues than gum recession. Unwelcoming receptionists, inadequate x-ray work, and a dentist that won't even come talk to you. They're lucky to have such friendly hygienists who, generally, seem to care about their patients.

She is also so happy to see me, remembers my name and my teeth so it’s always pleasant going to the dentist. She’s very thorough and like I said above, makes my cleaning experience super pleasant. I had Anna a newer gal take my x-rays and she was also very pleasant and very thorough and even though I have had X-rays a million times she walked me through step by step of what she was doing which was very much appreciated. Overall, mesa dental is great they do great and thorough work .. can’t comment on pricing because I have great insurance but it seems like there prices are pretty competitive as well.

Negative experience: This review is intended for the business that it is written for. There is no error or confusion on my part. The response from the business further re-enforces why I will never be back- the Dr is always right and refuses to admit to his mistakes. He places blame on his patients and makes them feel inferior, shame on you. I used to love going to the dentist because I left feeling better and all clean ( I know Im weird) That changed after coming to this dentist. Multiple crowns that didn't fit, crowns that came off, and my bite being off. All of these events came with pain to me- and then more pain to put the crown back on. Of course, when this happened the Dr would tell me it was my fault and "he's never seen this happen before." He also told me it was my fault that the crowns didn't fit (it happened 2-3 times, not sure how this is me). I was in literal tears when I saw another dentist that did a scan and confirmed what I had been telling this Dr all along- my bite was very off and all the pressure of my bite went down on one tooth since the crown he put in was too long. I now have an extreme fear of the dentist and I sweat through my clothes because of the pain I endured due to this offices work. I wish I had never come here so I could go back to enjoying the dentist again. What makes it worse is that you feel like a number. While the doctor is in your mouth, his assistants routinely come to him and inform/ prep him for what he needs to do with other patients that are waiting for him in other chairs. This intensified my fear since I don't know how he could be 100% focused on what he is doing in my mouth when he is listening, critically thinking, and responding to someone else at the same time. This layout of how their office runs creates a very hectic environment, when I went to a different dentist and I was in a private room (with a door) where the dentist gave me their full attention during my procedure I felt seen and at peace knowing that the dentist wasn't being interruped the whole time. This practice gets you into a contract for ALL of the work they say you need from day 1. The downside of this is, if they do a poor job with the first part, you are stuck going back to have them finish it all. Or in my case, once they finish it all and you pay them alot of money, you have to go to another dentist to fix all these guys' work. And yes, I went back SO many times for them to try to fix things and the Dr would tell me everything is fine and it's me/ in my head. I eventually got some sense and figured it's just money, so I'll just pay double to have someone fix the work I had done here.

Positive experience: Very professional, personable, and they wear PPE which is nice. Only a couple downsides. One was upon initial consult appointment, Dr. Qadeer explained what he would like to do. I waited and was given an itemized list and asked if I wanted a payment plan regardless of me explaining my dental plan and my plan for care. That reminded me of being at a car sales lot. The other downside is there is only like 7 parking spaces, so you may have to park across the street in Ranch 99 parking lot. Street parking extremely limited during weekday afternoons.

Negative experience: I am not pleased with the service by the employees of this dentist. I tried asking a fellow employee about the establishment and if there was a number to contact the business during its hours (before going online and they were sitting there before opening) And before i could even get my question i was told NO ! multiple times i tried to get my question out and he simply denied any questions that i asked about the establishment and treated me as if i was incompetent due to the time of my question (its 5am im simply lookin for my cat who tends to run around the dentist and he was being very rude and unhelpful about my cat who is on his working property. I didnt expect him to let me in before opening i just wanted a number to call or even for him to just say look online but he completely dismissed us as if i was being a suspicious person in the neighborhood..I couldnt even get an opening time from him due to him not even allowing me to ask questions about the dentist place itself) I feel that you need to get more helpful polite employees even if it has nothing to do with your job , it takes nothing to be a decent person .. and if you didnt want to be disturbed he should not have had his windows down for us to even get his attention. MORAL OF THE STORY DO NOT ASK EMPLOYEES ABOUT ESTABLISHMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE EXTREMELY RUDE (In addition i do not want to trespass on the property hence me asking for information in the first place and you are located within a neighborhood, I would have expected a little more kindness to the community members)

About 6 years ago I found Mesa Dental and I’ve never left. I highly recommend Stephanie (one of the hygienists), she is gentle and extremely nice. Dr Qadeer is also very kind and extremely honest. I never feel that I am being upsold. Totally recommend this group.

Fantastic experience: I recently had my teeth cleaned bt Stephanie at Mesa Dental. Throughout the cleaning Stephanie was meticulous and gentle which made me feel at ease. Stephanie's assistant Ann was also great! Ann took the time to introduce herself and explained the procedure. Fantastic experience: Great visit today with Dr. Qadeer who is always very kind. Tania, my dental hygienist, is quite good. In the past, I’ve had hygienists who are rough inside the mouth and moving my head. Tania has a gentle, soft touch while still getting the job done. I’m a massage therapist myself and am sensitive to the quality of touch a practitioner brings. Thank you for helping my visits to the dentist be pain free!
