Negative experience: I did not have a good experience with this practice. My visits for a tooth extraction and bone graft were rushed and painful. I felt like they wanted to get me in and out as quickly as possible. The novocaine was either injected incorrectly or not given enough time to take effect before they started the extraction. I’m not usually anxious about dental procedures and never have pain at my regular dentist. I won’t go back to this practice.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at my appointment. Dr Jacobsen did a great job from start to finish. Made me comfortable with novacaine. The Dental assistants/techs were great. The receptionist, I believe her name is Chrystal or Christie was so nice as she gave me words of encouragement and was so sweat when she checked me out as I was leaving.

Fantastic experience: I went in a bit scared. I can tolerate pain but teeth are on a different level for me. The extraction was too much for my dentist so he referred me. Dr Zajkowski was very calming and got it done in about 30 seconds. His help were all kind and considerate. All very professional. No issues at all the next day. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Really awesome doctors and staff!! They were very helpful in following up with my procedure and helping me with some concern that came up after, which was really reassuring. The procedure itself was so quick, I didn’t even get to notice it was happening. I’m not a fan of the dentist at all due to past experiences but having Dr. MacCarthy made me feel confident in his abilities and like I could trust the process - plus his humor and conversation was really nice and helped put me at ease! Fantastic experience: Was dreading my cracked tooth extraction but Dr. Mark Zajkowski gently numbed the area with precision, then removed the tooth without pain, all over the course of 15 minutes. 1 day later no pain, no bleeding and I can eat. Thank you Mark and the OSA team.

Fantastic experience: Edited: "The people at OSA, Doctors and Staff included, could be running a straight cash operation but they elected to take almost all insurances knowing how flat the income was here in Maine to help us. Why such a big deal? The Doctors are all top of thier class graduates of Harvard, Mass General/Brigham and Womens Hospital, for that I am grateful to have them here." First timer at OSA. Dr. Lawler saw me immediately after they were told I had a cracked crown and that the tooth has been bleeding for some time. He and his superb staff got me through the gaunlet of paperwork. OSA had no problem prescribing me an antibiotic after my extraction and bone graph, something I sought from elsewhere to keep infection away. At my age, I don't care about building a tolerance to antibiotics, I just want to wake up tomorrow. Thank You everyone at OSA, I'm feeling much better!!!

Fantastic experience: Having a tooth extracted is not an a grand experience, yet I felt welcomed by all the staff at OSA. I was greeted by Rachel, met Abby, who escorted me to the operatory and asking preliminary questions. Danielle was very helpful prior , during and after the extraction. Both assistants helped put me at ease. Checkout went smoothly; Crystal was terrific, explaining the implant charges. Miranda had left a flag in my chart stating that I would not need to pay money due to my dual insurance coverage. I met Miranda as well and thanked her for her assistance. I was not charged for the CAT Scan image that was taken to determine if I had sufficient bone for #19 implant. That was very gracious! Dr. Jacobsen was amazing; very kind, personable with a calm demeanor. He explained what the procedure would entail and shared that I have enough bone for an implant (YESSSSS!!). He administered local anesthesia with as little discomfort as possible and I really appreciated that. Overall my experience with OSA was wonderful. I will recommend this practice to all I meet who may need oral surgery services. As a dental hygienist of over 48 years I can share from a personal perspective the great care I received with your office! Thank you one and all for making me feel welcome and comfortable!

Fantastic experience: After a very brief consultation, it was determined I did not need a procedure for which I was referred; that in fact, it could prove detrimental to my oral health. I was not charged for that consultation, for which I was very grateful.

My doctor was very personable and reassuring. The office called the next morning to check on me. I could not be more pleased.

Fantastic experience: I recently had to have a wisdom tooth extracted as I prepare for other dental work. When we set up the appointment I was asked whether I could do it with just Novocain rather than general anesthesia. I opted to give it a try and I was amazed how easily it was done. 2 shots of anesthesia and 20 minutes later I was back in my car headed home. I took some OTC meds overnight but was literally pain free after that. Everyone at the office was great!

Fantastic experience: My daughter had Dr. Mark Zajkowski for her oral surgery. When we met with him for pre-op, he was very detailed and has a great sense of humor! My daughter really liked him at our first meeting, so it made her a little bit more at ease for the actual surgery. The day of surgery went very smoothly and quickly! All of the girls that are assisting were absolutely wonderful! Very nice people and very efficient while still having a great sense of humor. Would absolutely recommend this place for oral surgery!

Fantastic experience: Having issues with my jaw and ringing ears I visited with my local dentist who recommended that a tooth was the problem and needed to come out. I’ve become quite fond of that ole tooth (along with the others) but the jaw has been screaming at me for some attention. Basically that tooth needed to go away because it was causing problems with my jaw joints alignment and relieve would soon to follow. Everyone was friendly and professional and soon that bad ole tooth was gone and a distant memory relief was on its way Wondering if “Grandpa” would whittle me up a new tooth but unfortunately he didn’t . Following the recommendation from them, there is minimal discomfort and getting better every day . Thanks for helping me out with a bad situation soon to be a distant memory

Fantastic experience: They were very nice. Explained in detail what we could do for my situation and kept in mind the cost I would incur. Usually I get very anxious at the Dentist, but it was not like that with this visit. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: The office staff and medical staff were all so professional calming and Dr. Lawler not only explained what he was doing but throughout the procedure ( which took less than 10 minutes) asked how I was doing. Its only day two but swelling was minimal and so far feels like everything they did is going smoothly. Going into any major dental procedure I find very stressful and I felt well taken care of and also felt they attempted to recognize the anxiety and not belittle it but to reassure me which they did. Fantastic experience: I had an appointment for an evaluation of a problem tooth. The endodontist who referred me thought that it may require minor surgery. Dr. Zajkowski examined it, and found that it was an inflammation, and suggested some ways to prevent aggravation/irritation of the site. I greatly appreciate Dr. Zajkowski’s care and honest assessment!

Fantastic experience: A removal of a decayed tooth under a bridge. Bridge cut by regular dentist. Staff presented as very capable and knowledgeable. A rather difficult extraction with very manageable pain. The recovery has been rapid with only two doses of Tylenol. I will be returning in 4 months for implant

Fantastic experience: OSA is the absolute best place to have a tooth extraction. I was taken into the exam room within minutes of arriving and got the procedure started immediately. Dr. Z performed an extraction and bone graft so quickly I barely had time to realize it was over with. He is clearly skilled, but he’s also very personable, making me comfortable as he was working on my mouth. His assistant (so sorry I don’t remember her name) was also friendly and answered all my questions, putting me even more at ease. The best part was that I had no pain before, during or after the procedure. I highly recommend OSA for oral procedures!

Less than 24 hours later I was pain free without taking any over-the-counter medications. This was my first visit and have received to follow ups within the first 24 hours. I called to confirm that they received it and was told yes, they had days ago but they couldn’t accept it from my dentist. Just wish someone would have told me so I wasn’t waiting around- or let me know that when I called the first time

Fantastic experience: I would say overall it was a great experience except the oral surgeon could have waited a little longer before he stuffed a needle in my mouth after putting the numbing gel in it he didn't even wait he put the orajel stuff or whatever it is in memo and then stuffed the needle in other than that your stuff is very friendly it's very clean and neat! Though I am in the ton of pain today... I know it's normal but I will be calling because Tylenol doesn't cut it.

Negative experience: Overall the practice is ok however Id advise avoiding Dr. Killian MacCarthy he's very rude short and it's clear that he's not there to help peoples issue but instead milk them for money the lead nurse is also very rude and I'd advise if you have a disability avoid her and him like the black plague, however Dr. Mark Zajkowski is possibly the best dentist I've ment he is very understanding of peoples anxiety and was more than happy inform me of everything I needed to know so the 2 stars goes to the head nurse and Dr Killian maccarthy
