Fantastic experience: It has been a while since I have been to a dentist. My own issues from the past. I was very nervous. And I would like to thank Lexy for making me feel comfortable and relaxed during my visit. She was very patient, kind and understanding with me. So was Dr. Janos. The atmosphere in the whole office was happy and upbeat. That also impressed me. So I will be a future patient.

Positive experience: Other than wishing i would have been notified that my appointment was no longer with the person I was originally scheduled with great!

Fantastic experience: My son crashed his bike and basically landed on two of his front teeth! Luckily they were baby teeth. I called an hour before close and they were happy to get him in and fixed up before close. The entire staff was great with him. Much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: Just went for my first visit! Morgan took great care of me as hygienist and the Dentist clearly puts care into how he talks to his patients. My teeth also need work and their treatment plan was a better price than my last option!!

Positive experience: I’ve came here for years. I’ve had absolutely zero problems. I went in for my recent cleaning learning that I owed several bills from 2023. I was never notified, received a bill, or was asked to pay anything upon check out. Me and both of my kids go there. There is plenty of opportunity's to let me know money is owed, not when it has all piled up. I was never even notified that things were done that may not be covered under insurance.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and nicely laid out office. Equipment is modern including 3D imaging of teeth which offers a unique view of your teeth when discussing with the dental team. The staff are great with a cheerful sense of humor which I really appreciate. My hygienist was wonderful but not given her name out because then everyone will want her! Lol

Fantastic experience: My dental hygienist was amazing and engaging. As a new patient not sure what to expect she quickly put me at ease. The doctor was not rushed when she came in for my checkup. She spent time with me making sure to understanding my concerns and thoroughly explained her recommendations for treatment.

Negative experience: I'm changing my review. From 5 stars to 1 star. These weren’t careless no-shows; I communicated both times. I started going to McLaren Dental during COVID and had extensive dental work done over time—extractions, crowns, root canals—you name it. Overall, I appreciated the care I received early on, and I was especially grateful for Dr. Janos, who was clear, kind, and genuinely helped me get on track with my oral health. That said, my experience took a disappointing turn. The first missed appointment happened the day after a wisdom tooth extraction. I had been prescribed pain medication (Tramadol) and overslept due to its effects. I immediately called, and they kindly rescheduled me. I made it to that follow-up appointment with no issue. The second issue occurred in early 2025. I had an appointment for another extraction, but I was feeling horrible—congested, stuffed up, and had a migraine. I showed up 15 minutes early. When I mentioned to the dental assistant, MC (her name), that I wasn’t feeling well, her response was incredibly rude. She asked, “So what, you don’t want to go through with the procedure today?” in a snarky, rude, disrespectful, tone. I calmly said I’d prefer to reschedule if possible, but I was willing to proceed if needed. She told me she’d check the schedule, then left me waiting in the procedure room for over 40 minutes. When she returned, she removed the bib they put on you, and said, “You’re all set, no worries about the appointment,” which confused me. I asked, “So we’re rescheduling?” and she replied again cold, and rudely, “No worries, everything is canceled.” Then she handed me a referral to a different dentist—in Lansing—and said, “Maybe they’ll be a better fit for your needs or busy schedule,” before walking away. I left feeling humiliated!! I found out later that day I had COVID. Fast forward to now: that same tooth broke and left me in the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. I called McLaren Dental and spoke to Jennifer, explained everything from that past appointment, and said I didn’t even know if I was still a patient, but I was desperate for help due to pain. She said she’d call me back but never did. The next day, I called again, only to be told Jennifer was off, so I spoke to Bree. She also promised to call me back. Eventually, the pain got so bad, In extreme throbbing, jaw hurting, sleepless pain. I had my mom call. Bree finally told me I had been dropped as a patient due to "missed appointments." Yes, I missed two appointments—but one was because I was recovering from surgery and still medicated, the appointment was too close to the prior surgery, and the other was because I had COVID. These weren’t careless no-shows; I communicated both times. Plus, there were years between these two instances. Dropping me as a patient felt unfair and cold, especially considering the circumstances. Another concern I had over time was the lack of provider consistency. I initially saw one McLaren dentist, then switched to Dr. Janos, who I loved. She is an AMAZING dentist. After her, my care was transferred again to Dr. Moody. It became difficult to build trust with a single provider. In the end, while I am grateful for the dental work I received in the past, I don’t believe being dropped for understandable medical reasons was right. Thankfully, I’ve since found a new dentist who treats patients with more consistency and compassion. McLaren wasn't there when I needed them the most, Which something they always say; If you're in any type of pain call the office. I was in the worst tooth pain I had ever experienced in my entire life. They not only dropped me as a patient because of the missed appointments from being scheduled so close to a prior tooth extraction, and having COVID, They weren't there when I needed them the most!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kosecki and team were able to fit me in for a dental emergency on short notice. They were able to both assess and address my issue quickly and comfortably! Do not hesitate to visit, everyone is as friendly and professional as can be.

Fantastic experience: I was most impressed with Dr. Moody's attention to detail. I'm traveling and my crown fell off. They were able to get me in immediately. I don't think I've ever experienced a dentist that really took their time to evaluate what they were doing to make sure that it was perfect when completed. I'm actually considering changing my dentist back home after experiencing this level of attention to detail. The dental assistant was also amazing and explained everything thoroughly.

Fantastic experience: New patient exam. Dr Kosecki was gentle and very knowledgeable. Her assistant was competent and engaging. Dr Kosecki offered different options and actually found an infection that I didn't even know i had. Very impressed and pleased with my visit.

Fantastic experience: Dr Janos completed a thorough review on options to fix my broken tooth. Looking forward to completing the Invisalign treatments to close the gap along with aligning my teeth. Follow-up cleaning was excellent and very thorough

Fantastic experience: Wow I cannot recommend this dental office enough! My regular dentist is in Ann Arbor, a cap on my tooth came off two days ago and it would have taken me 5 hours round trip to visit my dentist, so I decided to see if a new dentist could fit me in (I quickly learned most midland dentists were closed on Fridays for the holiday weekend, with shortened hours on Thursday). McLaren fit me in very early on Friday morning. The team wanted to take an x-ray to make sure the tooth was healthy before putting on my cap, but my the cap had come off because I was eating a chewy candy, and I know that the tooth is healthy from my dentist so I advocated that I didn’t want an x-ray to avoid the cost. Upon learning this, the doctor said in good conscious he needed to do an x-ray, and he would comp the cost because of my lack of my fear of the cost. Obviously I was floored! Then, it turns out he is originally from Ann Arbor and knows my dentist, Dr. Lori Brown! I love Dr. Brown and have seen her for 14 years. This is the first time I feel comfortable seeing a new dentist in my city. 20/10 recommend!

Fantastic experience: I have just started the process of getting an implant bottom denture. I have bone loss and was concerned. After discussing the procedure and what to expect I decided to go forward. On Monday the dentist put in two implants. I’m still a little sore but to be expected. Next Tuesday they will take another impression and begin making the denture. The dentist and hygienist were both professional, informative, considerate, and did their best so I was comfortable with everything going on. All of the staff were friendly. I now have my new denture. It snap in and fits nicely. I am now able to eat things I had to give up for years.

I thank Harper Lindauer for recommending them to me. They have different flavors of polish and fluoride,, unfortunately bourbon flavor is not one of them. LOL. First impressions mean a lot, so I believe this is going to be a great office to have my dental health taken care of. Glenn

Negative experience: Heather, an employee with the office staff was so incredibly rude to me that I am going to find a new dentist. My daughter and I were both sick so I called two days in advance to let them know that we would not make it in for our appointments due to having Covid. This notification was made first thing Monday morning after coming down with the illness Friday evening. The office representative indicated no problem and she would cancel the appointment. Today I received a $75 no show bill in the mail. I called to let them know that this must be a mistake. Heather, the representative I spoke to was so rude and condescending when she told me that she would “waive it for me this time.” as a courtesy as she put it. Like I did something wrong and they were giving me a one time pass. I have never missed an appointment. I told her I would be finding a new dentist. She couldn’t care less and just said ok and hung up. The coldness and unprofessional statements were astounding. They need to hire someone who knows how to talk to people. Someone with a little training and intelligence.

Fantastic experience: Dentists and staff who you can tell really care about their patients. Visiting the dentist is not an easy thing for me (as I'm sure is true of many), but at McLaren Dental I'm in good hands and that puts me at ease. Also, they are really good at explaining what needs to be done and options. Happy to have found a great place for my dental care.

Positive experience: The staff were professional and competent. The only reason I can't give a 5 star rating is that I was referred to another periodontist for future work beyond their capabilities.

Negative experience: Felt like a cog in a machine instead of a patient. Extremely commercialized and impersonal; interactions with staff felt very disingenuous and superficial.
