Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment today at Great Lakes Dental Excellece.. Known the Hegedus Family since middle school when they took care of our family then including our braces! I am soooo glad to be back in their care! My hygienist today could not have been more pleasant! I laughed more today than ever at a dentist appointment! And I was in and out in less than an hour for my first appointment - including X-rays and cleaning! Dr. Lambert was so prompt and took time to even fix a few things in these old teeth of mine! Was great to see everyone again! Already booked for my 6-month and a crown…

I am 58 years old and have had bad experiences but this was one of the best I have ever had getting my teeth fixed. Negative experience: Well where do I start. Make sure your insurance company and the provider office is in network by calling both in confirming. I made an appointment after finding out they were in network with my insurance. After my appointment was told by a billing specialist my insurance covered nothing. 385 due right away no payment plan offered. Later discovered insurance covered 101.50 and I was to pay 101.50 a total of 203. The remaining balance of 182 was to be written off. Well after finding this out I called to address the matter and resolve monies owed 283.50 only to be told that the provider office is no longer in network and hasn’t been for almost a year now and that 101.50 would be reimbursed. I called the insurance company to explain this only to be told they were in network and that the provider if no longer in network needs to update this change with the insurance company. No! Not my responsibility to do something that should have been done. Now this is considered out of pocket and I could possibly have my claim price adjusted and owe more money with the insurance company. Instead of the provider accepting fault and allowing my claim and any others alike as far as July of this year due to there negligence. I’m not going to say some staff aren’t nice because they were and so was my doctor. I thought maybe this is the right office for me but competency matters. Patients matter. Having a concerned and helpful attitude throughout your whole team means a lot. You move as one. There is no star player on a basketball team each play a role to make the goal. Doing your due diligence in not just moving me along could have helped this situation when I asked about my insurance not covering anything not sounding right maybe digging into it and trying to help could have helped with my frustration now. Systems being updated accordingly and accuracy being priority. I just don’t want anyone else to feel or go through what I have. We’re human we make mistakes understandable but where is the accountability for what has happened to myself and others instead I feel like I got this is what it is and oh yeah sorry. Thanks for the care it was excellent but as far as all else goes I hope to find another office more inviting, liable, and open to rectifying there mistakes at the cost of their patients expense. Make sure providers and insurance companies are within network. Confirm both by verifying verbally!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at my dental appointment today. Dr. Jessica and her assistant Erica were both incredibly professional and attentive throughout the entire procedure. They made me feel completely at ease during the procedure of inserting my two new beautiful crowns. I was especially impressed with how gentle Dr. Jessica was - even the numbing shot was completely painless and I mean that I never felt any pain whatsoever!! I truly appreciate the care and skill they showed. I highly recommend Dr. Jessica and the entire staff at Great Lakes Dental Excellence!!!

Fantastic experience: I love this practice. I drive thirty minutes out of my way because the care is so good, even though I have a couple dental practices only two minutes from my house. This is the most professional, cheerful, and caring practice I’ve ever been a patient at. I’ve had a ton of invasive dental care and no one has handled it better than Great Lakes Dental Excellence. They actually take dental anxiety seriously and don’t scold or shame you for cavities or needing any kind of care. I’ve appreciated every dentist I’ve had, but also the dental assistants and the hygienists. I’ve hated the dentist my entire life, but GLDE is the first practice where I can say I don’t feel scared when it’s time to have an appointment. Also, their scheduling people are amazing and can work out any issues for you and reply to emails quickly. Five stars!

Negative experience: I was a patient for about three years. After I dealt with an extremely rude hygienist, I was considering going elsewhere. But they changed hygienists so I stuck around. They were watching a particular tooth decay for about two years… During those two years, I heard countless lectures about how I needed to change what I eat and drink and was consistently reminded about PAST behaviors (that obviously cannot be changed anymore) that “brought me here” so that I can stop the decay and not have to get this tooth filled. At my last visit, the dentist literally LAUGHED at my teeth’s appearance (and said, “I’m laughing because your teeth look so funny”) so I left. Extremely unprofessional. Found a new dentist who informed me that this particular tooth they were lecturing me on for TWO YEARS has a ledge on it from a filling Great Lakes Dental “Excellence” performed and food is getting stuck, causing the decay. The decay is NOT my fault, I was specifically told by my new dentist. I cannot recommend enough to GO ELSEWHERE.

Fantastic experience: I popped a crown off a tooth while flossing at night and I was leaving for vacation that following afternoon and I called Great Lakes in the morning and they were able to get me in 30 minutes later, with only one dentist available... happy to say he did a fantastic job and I was able to make my flight! They all are warm, caring and personable making it very easy to discuss any questions/issues with my teeth I might have. I came in for a cleaning, mentioned that my crown was giving me a bit of trouble and they adjusted it right then instead of giving me an appointment to come back for it. I really appreciate things like that.

Negative experience: Go to a new dentist and have them look at your fillings. Great Lakes dental is objectively giving you horribly done large fillings so you will need root canals later. Have you ever gone to a new car place and they say “hey, WHATEVER you do, for the sake of your car and your wallet do not go back there”? For the sake of your mouth and your wallet, find someplace else. Despicable behavior.

Negative experience: They get you in fast and did good work but I was not happy after the fact I had to pay 350.00 up front because they were out of netwerk with my dental coverage best next time to call and ask are you currently in network my problem they know these angles and aren't honest with you

Negative experience: Great lakes dental is a joke! They told me my visit would be covered by insurance and i know my insurance covers cleanings 100%, yet they are coming after me for a $200 bill ?!?!

Fantastic experience: I just retired after 35 years as a dentist. I have seen the hole spectrum of providers. The best are not only extremely well trained, they absolutely love what they do. Dr Tim is truly one of the best. I am blessed to have him as my dentist.

Positive experience: new patient had my files sent over, had bite-wing ex-rays at former dentist . I don't understand why you had to take new ones, it just ran up my bill. I don't think it was necessary because I been going to my other dentist every 6 months. The records show I had the bitewing ex-rays.

Fantastic experience: I had my first visit a while back ago and it was a very great experience!! I drove 40 minutes just to get there but even with the drive they are definitely going to become my primary dental office!! All of the receptionists, assistants and dentists there are absolutely amazing and they have a great price plan if you qualify for the "Cherry" Payment assistance!!! 10/10 recommended, I promise you will have a great visit and love whoever you see there

Negative experience: Why do you expect customers to fill out needless forms? When I say no changes and I am in there every 6 months I am not going to fill out forms. Every bit of information is in a computer file. Just check a box “no changes”. I also refuse to needlessly exposure to X-rays unless I have a problem that needs to be investaged. Seems like a money grab. Nor very happy that I chose Delta because it is one of the largest accepted Dental insurance companies and your practice dropped it.

Positive experience: I had a wait of about 1/2 hour. Once in I had my cleaning, although they used to high powered water cleaning, I just had it done last time. I was shocked when I checked out I was informed they no longer participate with Delta. I was not prepared to have to pay $355 for an xray and cleaning. Not sure what I will do in the future.
