From the first phone call to explain and schedule a quick appt.and had so much patience,concern and understanding of my very upsetting tooth concern after a previous dentist leaving me with no hope for my front tooth referring me out for a root canal or extraction which devastated me.The thought of losing the tooth would have greatly affected my smile and mental wellness.Dr.Sim's professional team saved my tooth and made me SMILE again! Fantastic experience: Everyone was polite and friendly. When I entered the building, the lady at the door was expecting and called me by name. My wait time in the waiting room was not long. The young man taking my x-rays was very friendly and polite, as well as the woman who explained my bill to me. Everyone explained and made sure I understood what they were doing. The dentist was very pleasant as well. It was an enjoyable experience.

Negative experience: only took 2 BW and a pano, did not take any PAs, until noticed radiolency on pano, gave txt plan but not did give all radiographs when asked prior to prophy, had to follow-up to receive PA. Also, I emailed them in regards to an antibiotic to mange the infection, while I find a way to afford txt, however never received a response. Called another location was able to eventually recieve antibiotic to manage the infection. Overall, did not have great experience.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit.. Everyone was so friendly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They talked to me like I wasn't a stranger. Every thing that was done to me, I was told in advance what to expect . I liked that . Then when I met my dentist , I was pleasantly surprised. He looked and acted just like his face was... Friendly. I believe most people who come here will feel like I do. Just wish I had known about this place sooner.

Fantastic experience: I arrived 30 minutes early for my appt. The appointment was delayed. I had to ask receptionist about the delay which I should not have been the case. She should have informed me the reason for the delay. Hygienist Heather provided exceptional service. My first appointment with new new Dr. I believe his name was Dr. Evan. He never introduced himself which I feel was unprofessional. I've been a patient for many years and I was surprised at the lack of professionalism for this appointment.

Everyone there wants to be sure I'm comfortable during the entire process. If you fear the dentist, like I used to, give them a try. You won't be disappointed! I was fortunate enough to have Brianna take care of me. She was great and very easy to get along with.

Negative experience: Terrible visit I felt like they were trying to get over me!! I’ve never been to a dentist that would make me pay out of pocket to clean my teeth when I have insurance that covers my dental appointments. I’ve been to other dentists and I have never been asked to pay out of pocket to clean my teeth my insurance always covered it! I will not be going to this dentist anymore. Very disappointed 0/10

Positive experience: I waited for an hour and a half to be seen and the dentist saw me for three seconds. There was a mixup with the type of appointment I asked for so the wrong things were scheduled. I didn’t get to have the things I wanted done. However, the nurse tech was very kind and sweet and was able to get me checked out for half of the things that I actually wanted that were available at that time. The dentist, however, was not very helpful and came off a bit condescending. The three stars is for The nurse tech and the receptionist because they were both very sweet.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved the staff that worked on me today and the newer dentist. The person that scheduled my appointment messed up but the lady that took me back, fixed it and still assisted me. I need a lot of work done unfortunately but I found out today they have a new option for credit payment. I will be back :)

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend. I had a tooth ache for approximately 4 to 5 days. I called around 12:00pm for walk-in and they scheduled me for 5:50pm. Then I received a call and text to come in at 5:10pm. My wait wasn’t bad considering they fit me in their schedule for the day. I had to get my wisdom tooth removed and I barely felt anything. It felt like it came out in one pull. Of course it didn’t but it came out in one piece and I’m extremely grateful I found this place. Thank You

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chanbo Sim is a highly skilled dentist as is his staff. I’ve received excellent dental care from Dr. Sim over 15 years which includes preventative care as well as ongoing pain free dental care. He is friendly, kind, compassionate & individualizes each plan of care. I trust Dr. Sim & his team & refer family & friends. I have received care @ the Merrillville location & the new location on rte. 30 @ Smiles on Randolph.

Fantastic experience: Form check in to check out, the service was superb. I needed to be out by a certain time everyone made sure I was taken care of with professional care and not rushed. I was out on time and made my second appt on time. Thanks to all who took care of me.

Fantastic experience: Very Customer friendly. Everyone in the office makes customer service look super easy,while making an often grueling procedure for yours truly a pleasant experience. Staff is super nice like they were born to smile! I love the positivity I feel when I get in the chair. Dentist is super positive and good at handling this delicate line of work. I have no complaints about Family Dental Care. If you read comments like me and you hate dental procedures this is definitely a top choice for me to recommend. They will thoroughly explain the procedure to you after they have examined the problem you are experiencing. All you have to do is accept or reject. They will let you know if your insurance will pay before they start ,but be sure to inquire first.

Fantastic experience: I truly appreciate Dr. Sims and his staff. Although I hadn't been to that location in a while (very happy I switched back), Dr. Sims remembered me and was so welcoming and encouraging. He had no idea that I needed to hear those great encouraging words and grateful for his share moment as well.

Negative experience: I'm sure they do great work by the amount of business they had, BUT I had my 1st appointment with them today at 2:50. I arrived on time. During my 40 minute wait, 5-6 people checked in after me and were called before me. I'm not sure what time their appointments were but it's super inconsiderate to have new patients waiting such extensive amount of time. Someone was even a walk-in appointment and was called back . It's unacceptable to me and I will never consider them again honestly.

Fantastic experience: We moved out of town and literally drove 2 hours for my daughter’s appointment because we always have the best experience here. Everyone is so nice but I love how efficiently the office runs. We waited less than 5 minutes to be seen for my daughter’s appointment and her next appointment was made before she even got out of the dental chair. Highly recommend for anyone. Fantastic experience: Great staff that's willing to make you feel welcomed. Not my first time coming here but when I asked that I wanted Dr.Lent, they made sure she took care of me when I came back. I loved how Doc took the time to listen and address issues especially when busy. She was amazing. That's what made it easy to come back. As well as the dental assistants that took care of me were great-Kerstan and Kathy. For me its all about customer service and making it easy especially since I have an injury. When walking in greeted by Julie, and the staff. Kate walked me back, and made sure i was settled. On the way out front staff made sure to explain things so I understood and didnt get any surprises. So this place will accommodate and not disappoint.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the care given at Family Dental Care. I went in for a routine and the care provided really calmed my nervousness. I normally feel discomfort with any dental procedures but the Dental Technician Ariel was so extremely gentle and made this process painless. The cleaning I had was extremely thorough but I didn’t feel any discomfort at all. I am so happy with the care taken by her to make sure I wasn’t in any pain. The staff at Family Dental Care are always so amazing!!!!!

Negative experience: When I called to make an appointment, I specifically said I was calling to get my wisdom teeth pulled and they said I have to do an initial appointment first and then they can get me scheduled as soon as the following week to get my wisdom teeth pulled when I went there, I waited for an hour, and when I finally got seen they did a full exam during the exam I kept mentioning my wisdom teeth the dental assistant, kept saying the doctor was going to speak to me about it. When the doctor came at the end of the appointment I had to ask about it again and he said we can’t pull it but we can refer u The whole point of me coming was for my wisdom tooth The people they referred me to were racist

Fantastic experience: I am so appreciative of all the extra effort that was put in by the staff here to help me obtain a prescription that I needed. They took steps that they didn't have to in order to get this done for me. It showed me how far they will go to take care of their patients. I am so grateful for people like them

Negative experience: This was the worst dental experience in my life. I've never had a dental assistant do a filling before and it was terrible. She didn't know what she was doing and my research said any dental assistant who fills a tooth should do so under the watch of a dentist. There was no DDS present. Dr Sim only came by and was not that friendly. The dental assistant told him there was an issue with my filling and he stepped in. He had to drill the filling and start over. I was not pleased of course but his bedside manor was horrible. It's been a week and my teeth are still sensitive and my fillings do not feel smooth. He didn't offer an apology for his employee not doing it correctly only replied with a condescending comment.

Fantastic experience: It was a very positive experience Reagon the assist was very cool and explained everything throughout. That was the first time I ever had pictures taken of ever tooth. It's a truly smart idea and gives the patient a idea what 's going on in their mouth. The Doctor was extremely cool very nice man. He will show you everything and explain what is happening. Great experience, great people, and they really do a great job.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is not your "typical" child and I always have to have her be put under general anesthesia for any dental work. This is the first time I did not and she was a little nervous but not after wards. I love how caring the entire staff is.

I'm one of those people who is really nervous and hesitant about going to the dentist and this experience here has been great. They do a great job and help you stay comfortable though the whole time I was getting my mouth worked on. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist if you are unsure about going.

Negative experience: Charge me 200$ out of pocket when my insurance covers cleaning! She said I needed a extra clean that didn’t involve any brushing of any sort or fluoride treatments just scraping plaque and rinsing out 5mins then I was sent out with a list of over 15k worth work I needed done in the future. It’s like they wanted me to pay I didn’t feel as if I was even actually wanted as a customer there honestly I’ll never go back and definitely wouldn’t recommend

Positive experience: The office facility was extremely large and nice. The workers were very very nice. This practice has a large staff. It seems like there should have been a few dentists in the practice, but it was only one. The dentist didn't spend any quality time during the examination. He appeared to be running all over the place. Exam rooms on the main floor and on the second floor. I would have wanted him to spend more time during the exam.
