Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere when I go to the dentist. I had a dental emergency and when I called they got me right in. Dr. Heflin was great, fixed my problem and explained what to do to speed up my healing and prevent it in the future. Would recommend Bartlett Dental (and have) and Dr. Heflin to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Less than 5 minute wait time. My dental assistant was very personable yet professional. My dentist was gentle and let my jaw rest when it cramped. He didn’t really talk to me but he was busy and his assistant did all but the numbing shots and teeth drilling.

Negative experience: I’ve been to Bartlett Dental Associates twice now. Both times I had a pleasant experience, until today. I went in for teeth cleaning on March 11, 2025. I was told my insurance covered my visit, and I could leave. Then, I received a text on May 16, 2025 from Bartlett Dental, stating to call the office over my account balance. This is the only form of communication I have received from them since my visit. It’s been OVER TWO MONTHS, and I am just now being informed that I have an account balance?? When I called, nobody could give me an explanation as to why now I have an account balance or why they’re just now billing me. I am very upset about how this was handled, because now I’m being charged for a service that I was told (by Bartlett Dental) was covered under my insurance and already paid for OVER 2 months ago. I will not be returning to Bartlett Dental Associates.

Fantastic experience: I am over the moon about this place. I came in with a request that I was not expecting them to be able to fulfill but thought I'd still try anyway -- which was to get my teeth cleaned and whitened within the next couple of weeks. They were immediately on board and managed to squeeze me into little pockets of time that they had between appointments to be able to make it happen for me and I am so so so happy with the results! I got all of my x-rays done, cleaning and teeth whitening done in several small appointments over the span of a week. Also, I ended up paying a fraction of what I expected to pay for the in-office whitening. I will definitely be sending my friends and family here!

Fantastic experience: The hygienist that cleaned my teeth was awesome

Negative experience: They basically screwed me. My insurance covers one cleaning every six months and they know this because that’s typical but they broke up my first appointment into two appointments because I was a first time patient and my insurance only ended up covering one of those appointments and the other one I got stuck with paying out-of-pocket. As a broke college student, I can’t afford it and I told them I wouldn’t do anything the insurance didn’t cover. I said that multiple times.

Fantastic experience: Mary has been my Hygienist for many years. She is awesome! And Dr. Kate is pleasant, kind, and very competent. I also got to meet Office Manager Nikki, who was also extremely nice. A very pleasant staff!

Negative experience: It has been over a year since my crowns were done by these hacks. I still have pain every time I bite, hot and cold sensitive and just an overall miserable experience. Avoid this place at all costs, they want your money but don't care if they help you. Just awful.

Fantastic experience: Crown placed during last appointment. Tech took her time to make sure fit was correct and would seat properly. Kate Heflin checked the fit and placement then cemented in place. Staff was attentive to request, concerns and needs. No pain and done within a reasonable amount of time. Definitely will be going back, hence 5 star review.

Fantastic experience: Bartlett Dental Associates are the best. This group of people are always friendly and knows how to put your mind at ease when you are afraid of a procedure. I went in to get a crown and all I thought about was the pain from deadening my mouth and the drilling. I didn't feel any deadening, the drilling only lasted fifteen minutes as told and my mouth came back to life later with no pain or soreness. .That why they are the best!

Fantastic experience: I had a really great experience. The front desk ladies, hygienist and dentist were all very nice and they were very thorough during the cleaning and exam. They took all of my concerns seriously and came up with a plan to help with my jaw popping and teeth clenching. The prices for extras were very reasonable. Very calming atmosphere. I now bring my 12 yr old there. They did a great job with him and were patient in explaining things to him.

Positive experience: I've been going here to have my teeth cleaned for 9 years. I've never had any issues with my teeth until Nov. 2024. I went for my regular cleaning and was told I had a fracture. They sent me to an endodontist for a root canal, which I had done in January, and then back to BDA for a crown. I left several messages to make an appointment for the crown but never received a return call. I was finally able to get in touch with someone for an appointment. On the day of my appointment, I was sitting in the chair, ready for the procedure, when I was told I would have to pay $890 that day. Someone should have called before I was there sitting in the chair to tell me what I should be prepared to pay that day. The lady speaking to me was pleasant, but I wouldn't say nice. I ended up leaving and requesting my dental records. Several years ago, my husband had a bad experience with a procedure that caused him to go to another dentist to have it corrected. After this incident, I decided to do the same. I have since scheduled an appointment with another dentist who recommended it to us. When I asked them how much I should expect to pay that day, they said they would bill me after the procedure, which BDA would not do. It's not that I couldn't have paid it, but I'm a planner when it comes to spending that much money. I felt put on the spot, and the employee did not care or show compassion.

Dr. Heflin was always cheerful as she reviewed my cleaning and my chart. She runs a very well oiled business machine.

Negative experience: Two years ago, I would recommend this dentist to everyone. Now I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. This USED to be the one dentist that ever eased my anxiety about getting work done in my mouth, but they completely ruined that since the process of getting my crown done. After getting my temporary crown, I was told that I could call at any point for adjustments. I called for a WEEK straight, leaving voicemail after voicemail getting NO call backs. I was in pain for almost 3 weeks, taking ibuprofen everyday. Now getting my permanent crown, I of course told them that this was a terrible experience but I was willing to give them another try since I loved this dentist office so much. He apologized for the inconvenience. Moving forward, we tried with no numbing first, couldn't do it. So they numbed me and everything was fine until halfway through my procedure my numbing was gone and I was feeling EVERYTHING. I heard the dentist ask who did my numbing, but we continued. I don't know the dentist rules of whether I could've been administrated more numbing or not, but nonetheless I went through the rest of that feeling it all. Popping my crown out, shaving it down, shoving it back into my mouth. Traumatizing experience. The cherry on top was when I went to the front desk to pay, and I was told $455 even though I had been told two payments of $355.25. Confused on how I was charged another $100. This dentist office has sadly went down. I'm extremely upset about how I've been treated recently versus when I first started going to Bartlett Dental Associates.

Positive experience: ***Update: I did have someone to contact me recently and get me an appointment set up with Mary. Thanks for listening to your patient’s concerns. I have been going to Bartlett Dental for many years. I had an appointment scheduled for April 2nd and I was sent a text that due to power outage, they were closed and I will get a callback for rescheduling. A week and half goes by and still no call so I decided to call them for an appointment. The receptionist then tells me there are no more appointments available until October. Sad to let them go but their availability now is always months and months out. That’s why I always make my next appointment while at my appointments but to make me wait until October because my appointment was canceled is insane. I will miss my hygienist Mary because she is really sweet. The lady that answered the phone showed no empathy or care in the world even after telling her that I didn’t cancel appointment on my own or get a phone call back.

Negative experience: So I HAD an appointment for tomorrow. They called my personal phone at 10 today and left a voicemail for me to call back and confirm my appointment. I called them back at 2:38 this afternoon and found out they gave my spot away. Their front desk has become a joke.

Negative experience: I was a new patient of Dr. Kate Heflin and hygienist Mary. When I was taken back by Mary, I right away explained to her that I am sensitive to x-rays. She said she would speak to the doctor about this. I told her that I am unable to receive the panoramic machine and the bite wing x-rays together, that I need to refuse one or the other. She said "we will see what to do and I will ask the doctor". She then told me to step into the panoramic machine and took pictures. Mary spoke with the doctor and the doctor approached me telling me she will not allow me to have my teeth cleaned without x-rays. I immediately contacted my husband crying for him to show up to the appointment, because the doctor and hygienist were coercing me to take 8 x-ray pictures AND the panoramic views. He arrived immediately to witness what was going on. The hygienist proceeded to give me bite- wing pictures and did not place the bite wing correctly the first time, so she was going to give me an extra picture, 9 x-rays in all. The standard number of x-rays at other dental offices is normally 4 bite-wing x-rays or the panoramic machine, so this was quite excessive for any person. After the fourth x-ray, I stopped and begged her to please ask the doctor to take the minimum number of x-rays, because I have a medical condition. Legally, I was supposed to receive a waiver to sign in order to waive all x-rays (due to my condition). I was not given this option. I have no idea what Mary told the doctor, but the doctor came back and told me "this visit is over" and they proceeded to kick me out of the building. I asked "what is going on" and "why are you kicking me out" and they gave no response. I felt as if I was treated as a criminal being kicked out of a store. While Mary was escorting me out, Dr Heflin exclaimed in a derogatory manner "byeeeeeeee". I was absolutely shocked and traumatized by the entire abusive situation and started crying again, so I asked for the manager. The lady at the desk said that manager left early. She wrote a message for the manager to call me the next day and I did not receive a phone call from the manager. I called the next day to speak with the manager, and no one answered the phone. I am now in need of medical care due to the trauma this experience has caused me; being forced excessive number of x-rays instead of being given a waiver for my medical condition, how the staff spoke to me in an abusive manner, and no return phone call to discuss what occurred.

Negative experience: I've had numerous problems with billings. They don't coordinate a client's insurance with procedures thus cannot accurately estimate upfront costs. On 3 different occasions I have gotten statements from my insurance providers on costs they don't cover, some of which were never performed. I only hope these are mistakes in their process. I also have called in advance of appointments to request estimated OOP and never get a call back or response.

Fantastic experience: Excellent provider from the time you walk into the dental office. The patient education was very detailed to my understanding to comprehend a patient dental treatment care plan. I have been to other establishments and Bartlett Dental Associates supersede above a 5-Star ratings. Kudos to the staff.

Positive experience: After getting them to fix a broken tooth and ordering the permanent crown I had to go to another dentist to get the root canal. After getting my root canal I had to wait over a month to get my permanent crown installed by them. My temporary crown had been broke/lost for most of the month I waited and they could not get me in earlier. Then when they were cleaning up my tooth to get it ready to install the permanent crown they accidentally drilled my lip. It wasn’t serious but it was painful. My appointment was for 8:00 a.m. and I had to wait a good while. I finally saw the dentist and left at 9:30.On the positive side the dentist and assistant were very pleasant.

My first few visit was a trial run and did a second each time passed! The ladies at the front desk are AWESOME. Very friendly, respectful, understanding and most caring. Hats off to Kristina, Jamiee, Amanda and Krischagiti and I can tell that I'm going to love with I can now say, my new Dentist Kate Heflin DDS. Soon as I met her before she can greet me, her eyes spoke for her before she can say hello. (Smiling Eyes). Clean hygiene facility. Happy that I've found my new home.

Negative experience: I had confirmed my appointment, your A.I.response system responded thanking me for confirming my appointment for Friday the 17th at 4pm. I arrived about 5 minutes before my appointment, but the doors were locked and the parking lot only had a vehicle in it. I sure wish someone would have called to let me know that you weren't going to keep my appointment. I wasted the (4) pills that I was required to take before my scheduled appointment. Then your A.I. system wanted me to rate my visit an hour and a after my appointment. Get rid of A.I. and use real people to confirm and cancel your appointments.

Negative experience: I only gave them 1 star because it wouldn’t let me give 0 stars. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE AT ALL!! Avoid at all cost. I scheduled my son as a new patient to have a filling done on a front tooth that was hurting him. They did not do the filling instead they did a full set of X-rays and a panorex which is not covered by ins due to time limitations. They did not call the insurance company to verify or ask the my husband if he had already had one in the past. They did not do the filling I had scheduled for and only did the X-rays that he did not need. Then they wanted to do 2 cleaning a month apart and then a consultation before ever doing his filling. I am very disappointed with this office and will not be returning.

Positive experience: Ok I have been going here for over 2 yrs. What started off as a good thing now since I have had a chance to look closely is not so good. First let me start off with the staff. They are awesome. They are polite and always smiling. They make you feel comfortable in the chair and will keep you updated on whats going on. Now here is where the problem lies. When i first started coming they had me in the back room with no window. I eventually asked for a window view because I felt like I wanted to see outside. With doing that, I had to change hygienist. No problem. After moving, everything seemed great until after my first visit with the new one. On the next visit, I was back in the room again. So I asked to move again. I asked 3 times and every time I did, they would move not only me back to the room with no window but the hygienist too with no explanation. On my last move, I asked and was moved to be placed back in that room on the next return. Im not sure if its intentional or what. All im saying is, I dont like it. Why the black girl cant have a window view and keep getting moved??? So I will be changing my dentist. The ones I had were great but this seemed slick racist to me. IJS‍♀️

Fantastic experience: This dentist office is amazing. I love the fact that they are bilingual and the wait time was very short. I will most definitely recommend to my family and friends to come here. The staff is very nice as well. I just love it here

Negative experience: The assistant was very helpful however the staff seemed to be in a rush to get me out of there which left me unsure of a few things including my prescription. They were supposed to fill my prescription Thursday but didn't. I called to let them know it wasn't filled and was told "She sees others patients after you" as a response like my issue wasn't important. The next day (Friday)the prescription is still not filled and they are closed for the rest of the weekend. I'm left without the prescription until who knows when now. Very unpleasant and unfortunate for me. Hope the pain or swelling doesn't start back before I can get the medication.☹️ #unprofessional

Fantastic experience: Dr Lauren was very detailed about my dental needs. She gave me the time I needed to understand my options. It's like she was guiding me to the next stage of my treatment plan. Cassandra was great . She too is very knowledgeable about my options. I am very satisfied with how my teeth look when I leave her chair. Excellent work!!! I will not go any where else. Cassandra takes the time to share how I can have health teeth and a great smile.
