Children's Dental FunZone - Pediatric Dentist & Orthodontist - West LA

Fantastic experience: My granddaughter which is 3 year old visit was great. The staff made both her and I comfortable. She never shed a tear and actually now loves going to the dentist. Now she is 7 and they and we are still going strong with excellent service and kindness. A great kids dentist .

Negative experience: DR CRUZ IS THE WORST. the MOST TRAUMATIZING kids dentist experience EVER. I am writing this as i'm wiping off my tears. absolutely unprofessional doctor (Dr.Cruz) who made not only me as parent feel extremely uncomfortable, but also my son. first of, she put the anastasia and the laughing gas on him and went to take another appointment for 30 minutes while he was laying there, already uncomfortable. so that delayed the entire process. but i do believe that the anastasia didn’t work because my son was SCREAMING IN PAIN. next, instead of helping my son get comfortable, and calming him, her attitude was making everything worse. she was talking very arrogantly, not trying to help, but making things worse and more complicated. her and her nurse were both very mean. I as a parent tried my absolute best to calm my son down, and to hold him so that they can perform the root canal and the crown that we had to pay for $500. she kept making me SUPER uncomfortable with her attitude, she called some other lady to be in the room, telling her how my son is not cooperating while i was begging her to just do it, while i was trying my best to keep him in his place. I AM TRAUMATIZED. I WILL NEVER EVER STEP MY FOOT BACK INTO THIS HORRIFIC PRACTICE. in this day and time doctors should know how to gently approach and handle kids, ESPECIALLY when they're having a hard time. instead of making everyone around them feel worse around them. not to mention, THE NURSE was absolutely rude as well. i do believe she purposefully leaned on my sons mouth with that thing that sucks his saliva. he was in so much pain. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY AND FIND A DOCTOR THAT CARES ABOUT YOUR CHILD. NOT JUST THE MONEY

Fantastic experience: We were referred to Children’s Dental FunZone by a dentist who couldn’t fill my son’s multiple cavities because he was freaking out. At FunZone, they were able to sedate him and he fell in love with the place. It’s colorful! There are prizes! There are special chairs for X-rays. There are tons of chairs. It’s a full service facility. They also have orthodontists on staff. All the staff we’ve spoken to and interacted with has been great. I highly recommend Children’s Dental FunZone. My daughter went for the first time today and her only qualm was that she couldn’t hear the movie well enough. Yes, they play movies while your teeth are cleaned so you’re never bored. My daughter also loved the fish tank and seeing it being cleaned!

Positive experience: My child had a painful experience at the dentist, but it’s usually a good experience when she has her regular dentist. The doctor was too rough, and she wasn’t completely numb.

Fantastic experience: My child needed to be seen because of a toothache on a Sunday morning and we called them doctor called us right away and said bring him in . We got there every single staff member was incredibly nice and he got his toothache taken care of the doctor that worked on him was the sweetest person she sang a song the whole time she was working on him and I just loved that my child was so relaxed and so was I

Fantastic experience: Children’s Dental Funzone is truly exceptional. The staff are incredibly friendly, patient, and great with children ,they know exactly how to make kids feel comfortable and at ease. The dentists are professional, caring, and explain everything clearly to both kids and parents. Also Dr. Shahin Bayani is an outstanding orthodontist professional, ethical, and attentive. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking quality orthodontic care.

Fantastic experience: My daughter came in today as a new patient ¬ only were we welcomed super attentive by the front desk but they were also super helpful in making sure we felt welcomed &comfortable for our very first time. The waiting time was super fast, the offices are EXTREMELY clean &sanitized &the place overall is very kid friendly which was my biggest concern coming in as a first time patient for my 6yr old who has speech delay &who is always very overprotective about people touching her mouth but the staff &the specialist who saw her today made her feel so comfortable that she had no problem smiling for x-rays or opening her mouth wide as a lion. As a parent I am DO happy our primary dentist referred us to this place because we will be coming in for dental work &I can at least have a peace of mind as a parent that my child will be taken care of properly y people who truly have the patience in what they work in. Thank you so much to all the staff for taking good care of us today, see you soon!

Fantastic experience: I like the way the doctor name DR ALEX talked to my son make him comfortable Amazing Doctor very friendly i trust him my son during the visit also the assistant INELIZ RUIZ she was so patience and kind we both of us . thank you doctor and her assistant fo always make my son less nervous because i know my son he is very scared to go to the dentist but Dr Alex and Ineliz are the best team work with kids very kind people

Positive experience: I have been bringing my children here for some years now and it has definitely changed …. There is so much people in the waiting room it’s uncomfortable, people standing everywhere and the dentist can already be a nerve wrecking place to be with little ones. I wish there was more privacy when discussing my child’s situation in terms of finances and what’s going on. The tablets they have is a problem in my opinion, but I get it. We’re currently looking for a calmer location , but the doctors are nice. I personally can’t deal with chaos when I have to be there with more than one little one.

Positive experience: They are very kind, very efficient. Only downside is if you miss an appointment it can be weeks before they can fit you back in for orthodontics because they only do ortho appointments a few days a week and they are so busy.

Positive experience: My kids really like to go here. They give kids a toy after the treatment and also they play movies and little fish tank and few tablets to play while kids waiting for the calls. Sometimes they do face painting for free too! :) One thing, I don’t like here is you can’t choose the dentist here. the dentists changed many often and not all the doctors are good and professional. Most of times, we had goood experiences, but one time, when we had one Korean woman dentist, I can tell she is barely become a dentist or something, she wasn’t professional, because of her bad decisions of treatment, my kid had to get a shot multiple times, and she was in painful conditions and had a traumatic experiences.

They have awesome prizes that really motivate the kids and make the whole experience exciting. they are very kind, I highly recommend them. I was looking for something that would make my kids comfortable and feel secure. A friend recommended me this place and I decided to try it. I love this place I am greatfull for it. As soon as we got in my kids fell in love because they have iPads for them to play while waiting and the have movies playing on the tv. The personal was incredible they greet you with a smile on their face and they are so polite they help you and answer whatever question you got. The doctors are amazing !! Negative experience: My children have been patients at this location for more about 5 years. Doctor Alex is really great with children and knows how to keep them calm during procedures. This past year the service quality has gone down when it comes to being greeted by the receptions and the wait time. I do not know if they over book or what the issue is but now we have to wait over 45 mins to just get their weight taken. Another 30 mins to get a chair and be since by the doctor for a regular cleaning. Small children get impatient when it comes waiting over an hour to get a cleaning. This past visiting it took me 1 hour and 30 mins and it was a bit confusing because other patients were seen and out the door within 30 mins. This is very disappointing because now my children don’t want to come because it takes to much time and it’s always overcrowded.

My little kiddo is not afraid or in pain following her appointments here and the appointments don’t take forever. There are not long wait times which is always nice! & I like that they check your relation to the child when you come in and verify who you are. The whole environment just feels safe. We have and will continue to recommend friends to bring their kiddos here.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Yaghoubi was able to see us on short notice after my daughter fell and hit her tooth the night prior. I called him right after it happened and he was able to reassure me that he will do everything in his power to make my daughter feel better. Truly a kind and gentle doctor.

Negative experience: I was initially pleased with this office until I wasn’t. The billing person ignores emails and messages. I was never able to get a detailed receipt for HSA reimbursement. Dental work is meh. It’s a western dental for kids. Terrible

Negative experience: My child has been coming here since day 1 and it’s been good though if you do not know teeth they will push you on flouride and treatments that can be reversed at home. My daughter loves getting toys after . Seeing the fish tank and coloring on paper and iPad. Normally fast and on time. Not this day. But recently this Friday June 20th my child had to get a two small fillings in between two teeth. Didn’t really want the laugh gas but they said it’d be best . My child said over and over it’s not working and I don’t feel anything . Then the numbing gel they didn’t leave on long enough before they did the needle and my child was screaming and felt everything With the woman Cruz Then her and the assistant seemed like they knew best and were looking at each other like ugh They know the past but not the future or reality. It was traumatizing for my kid and was literally screaming telling them as was I. Then the doc says maybe just do the black Flouride in between since it’s not on top of the tooth where you can see it for her other tooth/next visit. I was like yes I would have done that since it’s in between and the teeth will eventually fall out anyway. Why was t that an option to begin with ?! Make sure you record your visits every time.

Fantastic experience: I came to this location because they're open on Sundays, and my weekday work schedule is complicated. I'm very happy with the service they provided. They were friendly, professional, and efficient. I came for a quote to get braces for my son, and they did his teeth cleaning, fluoride, protection on his molars, and put the braces on all on the same day. At other places, I have to make several appointments for each procedure. I highly recommend this place. I observed how they talk to children, and I was amazed by the way they treat them. I'm going to transfer my youngest son to this place for his dental care.

He is very soft spoken and very respectful to both children and his employees My children feel very comfortable and secure under his soft, caring hands. One of the best things about this office is the availability of Sunday appointments. This is such a huge help for families with school-aged children and parents who work during the week. Fantastic experience: First time here and my daughter and I had an amazing experience. They really cater to children and made my daughter feel comfortable instead of of scared of a dental office.

Negative experience: Very disappointing experience. My eldest daughter had her teeth cleaned here, and the entire process felt rushed—it was done in no more than 5 minutes. It didn’t seem like they took it seriously. At other dental clinics, cleanings typically take at least 15 minutes. We also had oral X-rays done and paid for the service, but when we asked for the X-ray report to be sent to our email, we were told we needed to pay an additional $45. We’ve been to other clinics before, and the X-ray reports were sent to us free of charge. If we already paid for the examination, why is there an extra charge just to receive the results?This is an unreasonable and overbearing act.

Negative experience: Came here a few times for my child. Experience always felt rushed, with upselling on treatments. Final visit was horrible, with dozens of children in the standing room only waiting room and the appointment time not honored. After waiting for about 50 minutes, we finally had to leave as my child couldn't tolerate the chaotic waiting room anymore. Really terrible experience. Note to business: do not book more appointments than you can handle.

Fantastic experience: Good Service, They Are Polite, And They Treat My Kids Nice

Fantastic experience: Literally the best place for children to get their teeth treated. The decorations and the staff is so kind. I got administered laughing gas for the first time in my life and they guided me through it and even told me about their personal experiences with laughing gas. It made me super comfortable. The dentist was also very nice and successfully removed a tooth, usually at other places there will be some bits of teeth left.

Positive experience: Everyone always seem professional & friendly. My little ones love coming here to the dentist. The only negative comment is kids don't need as nearly as many X-rays everytime they visit unless there is an issue. Too much unnecessary radiation could be damaging.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Dr Yaghoubi by Dr Moshe Eizdi at 7am regarding my 11 month old daughter who took a nasty fall. Her first baby tooth completely fell out and her gums bled for a couple minutes. She seemed to be OK after the initial shock but I wanted to have her seen by a pediatric dentist asap. When I called Dr Yaghoubi, he provided reassurance over the phone that my daughter was likely fine but that I could come into any of his dental offices (Children's Dental FunZone - Pico is the one I went to) and that they would see us right away. True to his word, we were seen within 2 minutes of completing their forms. I called another dental office prior and was told the soonest I could be seen was at 3pm. So being able to be taken in and seen at Dental FunZone as a last minute drop in was a tremendous relief. Dr Shamsian did our exam. He was quick and efficient and put my mind at ease. Thank you so much to Dr Yaghoubi for ensuring I was seen as soon as I arrived at their office and Dr Shamsian for taking great care in examine my baby. I highly recommend anyone to take their precious children to this office for all their dental care.

Positive experience: Very nice office and the staff were very friendly the only thing that I was concerned about was that there wasn’t really anything for older kids to do so maybe add stuff to entertain older kids but other than that my kids got their faces painted and had still had a good time. I would definitely recommend.

Positive experience: Arrived more than 15 minutes late. Parking was easy in structure. Office staff was pleasant and patient as many forms had to be completed. Office was crowded. Was able to snag seating. My extra needs 26 yrs of age child was entertained while waiting. Outer waiting office opened into exam room. Would have preferred a divider, at the very least a curtain. Patient was unusually calm enough to allow dentist to complete exam. That was the first time. Dentist was calm, soft spoken. Dentists' action facilitated calm experience. It appeared that assistants did not have anywhere to be. They were standing all around counters, like vultures.Their inaction made me uncomfortable. Dentist unable/unwilling to begin bridge procedure(visit purpose).

Fantastic experience: This review is long overdue but well deserved and for Dr.Rodef. I reached out to him in desperation because my son was experiencing horrible dental pain on a Saturday night. He took his time to ask for details and pictures and thankfully was able to squeeze us in for treatment the next day. My son had to get 2 baby root canals-and as stressful as the whole situation was for my son and myself, he remained calm and was patient with my son. I am thankful to have met him and his helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: Kids Dental FunZone is the best place I have taken my kids to. Face paintings and a toy after they are cared for. They are amazing. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My kids are never pressured to any procedure. And they always give you the most information about any procedures or recommendations. Overall they are Amazing.

Fantastic experience: We came in today for both of the girls cleaning appointments, two sisters at 4 and 6 years old. Check in was prompt and professional. The place was clean and organized even though it was towards the end of business day, they closed at 5 pm and our appointments are 3:30 and 4 pm. All of the staff we encountered were courteous and nice, but the highlight of the day was the face painting by Gabby. As soon as she came around the corner, our girls were beaming with excitement. Thank you Children Dental FunZone for adding daily fun activities to your already busy schedules , they do made a difference for the children!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sara is very sweet! My son went in for a filling, and she explained everything to me and my son. Super happy I moved my boys to this dentist! Would recommend! Very kid friendly!

Fantastic experience: I love coming with my kids, it's always a warm embrace. The kids come in scared and the staff talks to them to ease thier nerves, they also have small things for kids too look forward too, like face painting, the cool fish tank, and the tablets.

Fantastic experience: If youe looking for a great dentist/ orthdontist for your kids guess what?! You just found the right place. I've been bring my son to children's dental fun zone for 5 years now. They're always attentive to the needs of the child doing their best to keep them comfortable. Excellent customer always and on top of that they allow one parent to go into the room. That is the main reason I chose dental fun zone in the beginning. #kidapproved #motherapproved

Negative experience: This business sent a text asking for a review so here it is. My 5-year-old daughter has been going here since she got teeth in. She always looks forward to it because she they give her a toy when she leaves. She takes care of her teeth so we've not had more than x-rays, an exam, and cleaning. It is always kind of a circus because the place is huge with a large staff and many patients everywhere. But I can deal because it's for kids. Yesterday we went in for her appointment and waited almost an hour before being called in. My insurance had to be updated but I still felt like the wait was excessive. The exam room has multiple chairs in a row all filled with children, and dozens of employees walk in and out doing various tasks. The room yesterday was HOT and uncomfortable. The AC must have been broken which can't be fun for the staff. After her exam and cleaning, we stood and waited 5 more minutes for a ticket to redeem a prize. They couldn't find a ticket so finally someone walked us there to get one. Then they gave her the only remaining "girl" toy. They never present her with the option to pick a "boy" one, which I don't love. We left, and she began crying hysterically because her mouth was hurting. I saw blood on her gums and she insisted on going back in to have it looked at. We then waited another 20 minutes to go in the room while she was in tears from the pain. They said there were no chairs, however they kept calling in other kids to go in ahead of us. Finally we got a chair, waited another 5-10 minutes for the dentist to spend one minute to say her gums are just sensitive. I don't know why someone couldn't have just taken a look right away since she was obviously very upset. Nearly 2 hours later and my kid tells me she never wants to go back there. Same, girl! P.S. I've never had an issue with the dentists. They are friendly and professional.
