Refresh Dental Austintown

Negative experience: Scheduled an appointment for a cleaning. When I got there they took X-rays and then told me I had to come back for the cleaning. I was told sometimes the hygienist can do cleans and sometimes they have too many patients to do a cleaning. Which is understandable if my appointment wasn’t for a cleaning. They scheduled another appointment for a cleaning. But rescheduled by the facility without notifying me about a reschedule or asking me what works for me. I called with questions and found out during the call that the facility changed my appointment. I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told one will call me back that day. It’s been over a week and I have yet to get a call back. If I could give a zero star I would. The absolute worst experience ever.

Negative experience: After calling multiple times, leaving messages, and not getting called back, I finally managed to schedule an appointment at this place. That was on 7/18/25. My appointment was today, on 9/24/25, and they told me that I was never scheduled. Absolutely insane that that can even happen. They rescheduled me for tomorrow but it’s ridiculous how persistent I have had to be with these people and how completely disinterested in me as a patient they are. It’s like they don’t want more patients, or like they’re too good for the people who literally keep their lights on. Unfortunately this is the only place in Austintown that accepts my insurance as far as I know. If you can avoid this office, please do. You’re liable to never even get an appointment here, and if you do, they’re going to mess it up somehow. If my appointment actually happens tomorrow I might change my rating, but for now, I’d rate this place 0/5 if I could.

Negative experience: The office never answers the phone. It doesn’t matter what time or what day i call THEY NEVER ANSWER!

Fantastic experience: What a great dental office! They were able to get my elderly mother in for an emergency appointment within 24 hours. We were so relieved because my Dad had taken her to another dentist who wanted her to wait over 3 weeks for an emergency appointment (just to give her a referral!) The staff treated her and my Dad so kindly! Offered to refer her to an oral surgeon or to schedule her needed extractions with Dr. Matta himself. Really appreciate the wonderful care! Thank you!

Negative experience: 0 out of 10. 15 years my family has been going to this same office. It was fantastic when we first started going, but progressively got worse every year. But we had history there and just dealt with it, because that’s easier than finding a new dentist (I tried a couple times but it truly is hard getting in to a new dentist in this area, post covid). Had an appointment for my son 2 weeks ago , I took a half day off of work for it. Got there and it had been canceled. “We left you a voicemail” is what i was told. I said “I didn’t get it”. Rescheduled for today. Got nervous to use another half day off of work after what happened 2 weeks ago (especially since today is the busiest day of the month where I work), so I left a voicemail yesterday asking to confirm today’s 8am appointment, but did not receive a call back from anyone. Showed up today to be told it was canceled again. She said “we left a voicemail”, to which I said “that’s what you said last time too”. I then canceled the cleanings that were scheduled for next month because I’m not going to keep taking time off work for nothing, and am going to find a competent office that can keep appointments, and effectively communicate.

Negative experience: Office manager is incompetent and rude. I asked her to email a referral, after 3 months it STILL WASNT DONE. When I called from the other dentist’s office, she told me, “you are bothering me” The office manager from the “other dentist” call her and was told that she was very busy but would fax it over. I drove over an hour to the “other dentist” for a 9:30 appointment; it’s now 11:30 (2 hours later) and still no fax. I would recommend them for a simple cleaning, but if you need anything more, go somewhere else. When did it happen that society was beholden to the medical field??? We are paying them.

Negative experience: Everyone is usually always nice and friendly. Always a good experience but the bleach blonde with short hair should not be allowed to talk to customers. Her tone is nasty. Doing her job looked so painful. Maybe put someone else up front. Makes me not want to go back.

Negative experience: Call to confirm my appointment I drove an hour to my appointment so when I get there they tell me that my appointment is not covered that I can pay a hundred bucks or reschedule for later on this year after sitting 30 minutes in the waiting room they finally decide to tell me this I'll never return there

Fantastic experience: I got in fast. I needed a tooth pulled and the Dr. Was fast and it didn't hurt that bad.

Positive experience: I have been trying to reach someone for the past 5 days still no answer I have left many voicemails I had a appt and due to me getting sick I had to call to reschedule no one picked up still I left a lot of messages still no retuned phone calls I'm now having swollen in my mouth and I have tried to call and also waited for a respond back I just called them again and left another message I'm in pain there usually very good with returning calls and being helpful idk what's going on but I don't want to b label as a person that didn't show up to there appt when I tried to call and reschedule due to the office safety of being being sick

Negative experience: I’ve had one of the most frustrating experiences with Refresh Dental. About a week before my appointment, I had an issue with my insurance. I called and gave them my new insurance information, and the person I spoke with said they’d enter it into the system, check what it covered, and give me a call back. I never got a call back. So, I called again the next day, only to find out the woman I had originally spoken with never even entered my new insurance into their system. They said they’d take care of it — again — and I still never heard back. My appointment was supposed to be today, and I still have no answer about my coverage. To make things worse, they just canceled my appointment. They’re nearly impossible to get a hold of — they don’t answer their phones, and if they do call back, it’s always 15 minutes before they close. And when you try calling back right away, no one answers. It’s a complete cycle of being ignored. This is hands down the most unprofessional and disorganized dental office I’ve ever dealt with. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: After quite literally No other dental clinic in the area answering their calls, calling back, being on some weird lunch hour from 1:15-3:07…. This place did. Jenna was so sweet and personable. She answered the phone with a good attitude, got my husband who is Military in the very next morning. Very thorough, very helpful and if every receptionist was this type of receptionist… people might like going to the dentist again lol

Negative experience: I normally wouldn't do a review but this place is so bad that I feel obligated to at least warn people about how bad the service is and how disrespectful they are about your time. They will mess something up with the scheduling then just tell you too bad. Don't waste your time or money! Also parking lot is rough getting in and out. Don't take a nice car. It might damage it.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible. They gave a price over the phone for Xray and exam of $152. When we get there they said it was $311. When asked why the difference they said their call center that schedules all new patient visits was wrong. Called back to call center again and they insisted office was wrong. While there for the 40 minutes trying to work this out, they sent 4 people away. I Don think they want to help at all.

Fantastic experience: This dentist office treated me with such respect. I was so nervous to get my teeth extracted and the doctor was so calming to me. He talked me through every step of the way and answered all my questions. While getting my wisdom teeth pulled another (I think dental hygienist) came into the room and even held my hand through it. I know that may seem silly to most but it really helped me not to have a panic attack. I highly appreciate everyone at this location. Even the lady at the front desk was super friendly and upbeat not just to me but everyone checking in. Thank you to each and every person who works here. You made this whole experience wonderful to me!

Negative experience: Everything that all of the other reviews state is COMPLETELY TRUE!!! I had an appointment here.. made on Monday by their call center. I received confirmation, a link to complete my new patient intake and all. Today, the day of my appointment, I all to confirm that they received my email with my referral and x-rays. I left a message and received a call back from a person who does not know how to have a conversation! We started out ok and she told me they received my x-rays and referral but my appointment was CANCELED due to them not taking outside referrals! They wanted to do their on exam and x-rays. I TOTALLY understand that and see why they would want to do that. That is not my issue. My issue is had I not called them to be sure they had my documents, I would have driven 1 hour to come to the appointment only to find out it was cancelled! That’s why I have an issue with them! And when explaining to whoever called me back that I can respect and understand what they are saying but I would have been mad had I drove an hour to the appointment and found it was cancelled. I asked why did I have to call you guys, why didn’t you let me know? All she could say was the call center that made you appointment was supposed to call you and tell you…. Ummm what? Y’all send a text to confirm you sent me information to fill out why couldn’t I got a text to tell me that it was canceled at the very least and then explained to her like yeah I can respect what you’re saying and understand all she can say well I don’t like you talking to me like that. I don’t like the fact you almost sent me on a dummy mission and then she hung up. This place is very rude and will never get my business. I was only coming way down there because I had to get a tooth pulled and I needed an oral surgeon and I was assured on the phone with them , their call center or whoever it was and my insurance carrier at the same time That they could do it and they could get me in today only to find this out. They need to hire new people or train the ones on how to have a decent bedside manner or just customer service period cause you do not You Don’t act like that, especially when you or the company you are representing are in the wrong! Do better, But with his many reviews that are posted here that say the very same thing, I doubt that you’re capable. Unless you hire new people.

Negative experience: I am very upset. I called and booked an appointment for my 9 year old on March 5th. Explained that my child went to the mobile dentist at school and would need fillings. Fast forward to April 28th, the soonest available appointment. They ran a credit card for the copay. About 5 minutes into the appointment was informed that they do not work on children and we would have to go elsewhere for the work that I was told wasn't going to be an issue. I was told a manager was going to be contacting me because I was unhappy. Noone called me. It is now after hours on April 29th. The front desk woman said that they use a call center to book appointments and she was very sorry I was misinformed. A waste of money, a waste of pulling my child out of school, and work was also missed.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE PLACE WOULDN'T RECOMMEND, IM A NEW PATIENT Missed An Appointment Due To My Kid Having An Emergency My Phone Was Off So I Couldnt Call Now I Can't Come Back To Them & Have To Travel To One Of There Other Locations Without A Car Go To Hell !!!!

Negative experience: I’m sorry but the 24 hour check in dose not work!!!!!!!! If you don’t answer your phone they automatically cancel your appointment!!!!! So I came in last week my son had an appointment they cancelled out all because I couldn’t or didn’t answer my phone. I work for a private owner and I’m a manager so I can’t always answer my phone. They were able to get him in same day. But did not complete the appointment so I had to bring him back in for his cleaning. The following week we come back in and there not one but 2 customers in front of me with complaints and problems with the cancellation process!!!!!! It’s time to figure out something else that’s more convenient and will work for everyone. Also the manager that’s been doing this for 20 years she stated. Dark hair. She’s very rude and disrespectful and needs to loose her job.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been suffering from mental health issues for years and I avoided going to the dentist for over a decade so my first time seeing one was yesterday here at this dental office in Austintown and I have to say I have never felt more comfortable and cared for, all my worries and embarrassments about avoiding seeing a dentist for so long they put to rest and I was able to relax in the chair and get everything that I needed to get done that day. So when I woke up this morning and looked at myself in the mirror and saw my teeth, I just felt so good about myself!! So thank you to everyone in that office and I look forward to coming back for my next appointment!

Fantastic experience: This office has been nothing but effective and kind in a place that brings tons of anxiety. They have gone above and beyond for my daughter and myself. Updating my review…separate appointment. Didn’t care for the kiosks but that’s no big deal…the staff there has been so amazing. I had 2 teeth pulled and they didn’t hurt at all. Doc was great! However over the weekend I experienced extreme terrible pain and so I was there first thing Monday Morning and they got me right in to see the doctor. He diagnosed a major infection at the extraction site. He took care of it with medication and I was on my way. I’m still in discomfort 2 days later but this place has been wonderful to me. They help assist with my anxiety and always have provided the kindest most professional service.

Negative experience: I’m not sure I would go back here. The staff was friendly, but I was there For 1.5 hours and spent most of that time waiting. I scheduled a cleaning as well as an issue with 2 crowns. I found out at the end of the appt I was not getting cleaning because i wasn’t due until May. I thought they would have told me this when they verified insurance. I also had a crown that broke and only had the sides left . The dentist gave me option of replacing but said it would be ok if I just glued it back in and wouldn’t cause damage. I thought about this once I got home and I’m not sure how having a crown with just the sides is the best route. This was my I initial visit as well and I didn’t get a full exam and was not asked anything about my previous dental care - which is extensive. I have multiple implants. I got the impression they just didn’t want to deal with it. Definitely not feeling confident about the care I would get there. So basically I wasted 1.5 hours and 140 bucks. At least the crown that unseated due to me eating taffy was out back in but now I still have to go get the crown that broom fixed.

Positive experience: Nice staff but way too quick to want to do big dollar work done when it’s unnecessary. Just be careful and advocate for yourself. They are in it for the money in my opinion….off the backs of the low income population. Sad

Quick and efficient every time. I've never felt more comfortable in a doctor's office as comfortable as they make you feel. They felt like family from day one!

I've been using this Dentist for 7 years after moving from the West coast and going to different private practice dentists and I can honestly say this Dentist isn't ripping me off and finding issues to charge me for during every visit, that was my experience in the past with some other establishments along the West Coast.

Fantastic experience: There is much more to get done until i can walk around permanently smiling proudly, but my very first visit was more than I'd hoped for. Everyone was kind, never was made to feel bad about the mess I've made of my mouth. No needles for numbing, just gel and hand tools. Completely painless. Just getting a serious cleaning to remove all bacteria is worth more than I'd imagined. Thanks!

Negative experience: I drove 45 mins to come here and explained when I made appointment that I had issues with a filling from another dentist. When I arrived they said, it would be out of pocket and could not touch my teeth. No communication about this before coming to appointment or anything, was just a waste of time. So if you have any issues with your teeth prior from a dentist, they make you pay out of pocket! They will not let you use insurance****.

Negative experience: Poor quality when fixing teeth. Both my husband and I had teeth done and his completely broke, after being told he could eat an apple. All of the teeth they fixed for me is broken and falling apart.

Negative experience: Hard to talk to someone on the phone. They don't seem to like to answer. Very rude. My daughter may be grown but has horrible anxiety. I don't care if she's grown. If she asks for her parent to be in the room allow it. Have some compassion.

Fantastic experience: Dr Petrakos is great! Always a smile for us! He genuinely cares for his patients. I have been going to Refresh for over 20 years. Since the smaller office in North Lima. He cares for my 3 sons as well. He and his staff are always quick, efficient, and so gentle! I have severe TMJS, and been through therapy. They always give me 'breaks' while working, so I can handle the work more comfortably. Thank you! I've never left with more issues than when I went in. (2 other dentist tore my mouth up. They had no regard. No asking 'are you doing ok?' During procedure. The one visit was enough to make me not go back. It was all just ugh. No smiles nobody was talking. Uptight vibes. Very uncomfortable environment. His work...I never went back. Same with the other fella. It made me really appreciate Dr Petrakos and his staff!) The office is always clean, and is a nice, comfy environment. Start to finish. The kids get to pick from a treasure chest and we all get quality goody bags! I wish I remembered the name of the girl who worked on me yesterday. I'd give a shout out for a great job and being so gentle, I hardly knew she was there. She's a sweetheart, too. Although some give RD a bad name for being a chain, the quality of care has remained great, with Dr Petrakos. Thank you Refresh Austintown!

Negative experience: Horrible waste of my time. I scheduled for my teeth to be cleaned. Sat in the lobby for an hour before finally being called. They took x-rays of my teeth, then told me the dentist didn't have time to clean them. So you have time to bill my insurance for nonsense but not what I scheduled you for. What kind of racket is this? Refresh need to get it together! And I better not see a bill for this is mess either!

The girl at the front desk was super nice and had a big smile on her face. The X Ray tech, Dental Hygienist and Dentist were all super nice, thorough, and made me feel like I was cared for. Fantastic experience: I was very so scared to go to the dentist from past dentist. But I had to talk myself into going and it was the best decision I made.. thank you very friendly and walk you through it all.

Negative experience: The dentist and hygienist was very friendly and informative. The young lady that took the X-rays never covered me. She was extremely rude had no personality and made you feel uncomfortable and when I asked why I wasn’t covered for X-ray exposure her response was it’s not needed unless you feel it’s necessary. It’s not very clean or updated facility. The dentist was very informative so was the dental hygienist. If it was not for them I would recommend not to go here.

Fantastic experience: I'm reflecting on my first visit to this practice as a new client. The staff was extremely professional, and the dentist - Dr Petrakos - was extremely cordial! We had the friendliest chat, and he seemed to exude nothing but pure interest in a saging the fact that I had a tooth with a bad filling. As it worked out, there's an appointment set for me to receive a crown on August the 2nd. I will report out further on that experience after it happens. At this point, nothing but good feelings and positive expectations for being under the wing of this Dental group!

Fantastic experience: I don't write many reviews but this dentist's office really deserves a shout out. I am only 25 and since 2021, I have battled severe health problems. It started with Covid and double pneumonia, and then progressed to liver disease from there. My body has been shutting down. Lately I've been getting a little bit better. Anyways - I thought what I had was the flu starting out because I was running a 103-104 temp for around 6 days and was in pain everywhere. But I was chewing on ice to cool down, and frequently use ice chewing as a coping mechanism when under severe stress, and that day it hurt. So I immediately called after I checked my gums, noticing what appeared to be a possible abscess. The pain was excruciating. The receptionist got me in right away and they discovered a severe infection and decay only on the inside of the tooth. It was a fluke I caught it the way I did. I could've probably died a little bit if the infection kept spreading. But today, 11/07, my tooth was extracted BEAUTIFULLY even if I was afraid the whole time (first extraction or tooth issue EVER). The doctor explained every step, was empathetic and very kind. He knows his stuff, truly. Thank you to the staff who provided me with help. Not a lot of doctors in the past have taken my health seriously - but you were diligent, hospitable and quite an amazing facility! Can't wait for my cleaning later :))

Negative experience: Poor , extremely unprofessional front desk staff. I booked an appointment online one week prior. I have the confirmation text message showing as much and the young woman could not “ find “ my son’s appointment. I advocate for my kids , and was not happy I asked for my son to be seen as a walk in and was told “ Our dentist does not do walk ins . Well your sign walking in to your office says otherwise. I brought that to her attention and she did not like that. She also did not like my level of frustration when my appointment couldn’t be found. Any mother worth a grain of salt would be upset at this point. I assertively asked for my son to be rescheduled and she refused and kicked us out. The front desk gal repeatedly tried to close her little glass window and I would not have it. I was not aggressive toward her , I just wanted a dang appointment for my son. This place needs to get their act together. Dont advertise online booking or same day walk ins if you don’t recognize or offer the service. I’m not done w this complaint. You don’t treat people and or paying customers as they did. Awful practice. Don’t even bother.

Fantastic experience: I went for a tooth extraction and it didn’t take very long or hurt much at all. They did a great job! Both appointments I had I didn’t have a long wait, either.

Negative experience: I went there to get my cavities done n did way to much drilling it’s been a month n a half my mouth still hurts n is sensitive from that appointment I can barely chew food on the bottom right n bottom left side because of how bad the pain is from how sensitive my teeth are.

Fantastic experience: As always I can only tell you that this is an absolutely wonderful Dentist and staff. Refresh Dental has become my Dental office. They took good care of me. My last visit before this one, he did an excellent job on my back molar. I was in and out in just 40 minutes. I’m thinking it’s going to be my new dental office from now on.

Negative experience: I've called three times over the course of two weeks. I left two voicemails and no one returned my phone calls. I tried to make an appointment at the dental refresh in Boardman, but they're not in network with my insurance so the woman I spoke with there said she sent a message to the manager at this location here and STILL no one contacted me.

Fantastic experience: I just have to say that this 5 star review has to almost be entirely for an employee, Terrance, alone. I have EXTREME odontophobia, and having dental work done is terrifying, especially because of the shots. Terrance, however, is amazing when it comes to comforting people and keeping them calm. I'm 32 and admittedly still need to hold someone's hand when I get those shots. Terrance held my hand and stayed until I stopped crying and hyperventilating. I'm so grateful. That man definitely deserves a raise or something because you can't find that kind and that level of compassion anymore.

Fantastic experience: So far it has been nothing but but smiling faces, and's a caring staff with good hearts. I am finally going to be able to smile again. Words can’t even begin to explain how good I feel!!! Fantastic experience: The office was clean, well organized and very prompt. The staff was friendly & helpful. The assistant explained everything and gave me everything I needed for the next step.

Negative experience: I usually don't do bad reviews, but today I have an extraction done here. Instead of taking the time to pull it regularly the dentist rushed and yanked it out of my face. Now I am currently sitting in the hospital with a giant hole in my gum to where I can actually see my jaw bone. I will be speaking to a lawyer.

October 3rd 2024 I went to see the dental hygienist and she’s wonderful. Deep cleaning didn’t hurt at all and the process went very quickly

Fantastic experience: I read some sub-par reviews about this place and as someone with dental anxiety, it certainly shot my nerves up more than usual. I made the dentist aware of my anxiety, and he prescribed something to help pre-appointment. I had 3 teeth removed about 12 hours ago, and he and his assistants were extremely encouraging, comforting and understanding. I had a really great experience over all, all things considered, and wanted to leave a review not only to thank those who helped with my treatment, but also to ease any uneasy minds like myself. They were quick, efficient, kind and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience overall. Thank you, Refresh! Can’t wait to eat normally again thanks to you.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience everyone was so kind to me from the start of my appointment until the end. Refresh Dental made getting my tooth extracted a very comfortable experience for me.

Negative experience: This place is highway robbery. Stay far away. Teeth clean and x rays 800$! Be nice if you'd communicate those insane prices with your clients before hand.

Negative experience: I'm shocked this dentist is rated so highly. I called and made an appointment 2 months ago for my husband and myself. We were told to come in at 12pm for both our appointments. Fast forward to today, we show up at 11:45 to be told that our appointments were booked for 10:30 and 11:30. Basically we were told they use a call center to book new patient appointments, so it's not their problem the call center screwed up. We never received a text or email appointment confirmation, the girl at the front desk was unpleasant and had an attitude (eye rolling and talked to us like we were stupid for missing our appointments), just wildly unprofessional and disappointing experience. Highly recommend looking elsewhere for a dentist unless you enjoy having your time wasted.

Negative experience: I am not a person that leaves bad reviews but this has been absolutely ridiculous. I went to refresh one time, they let me know I needed a deep clean and they submitted to insurance. They let me know I would hear from THEM in about 3 weeks once they got an answer from my insurance. I received a letter in the mail from my insurance letting me know it was approved. I think, cool, they'll probably get the same info if not already then soon and call me to schedule. I wait 2 weeks and hear nothing. So I call them, it's now been 5 weeks. Find out that I was just simply put on the schedule for the appointment without being notified in any way, and that it was set for the following Wednesday. I live an hour away and have 2 young kids- that was not an option and I had to set up child care. At this point I'm annoyed a little but I'm not saying anything to them I'm just rolling with it, assume it's just a simple mistake, whatever. I reschedule the appointment for a day that I can have child care. It was the last week in July. They text me confirming the appointment, one of those automated texts. I did not respond I saw it thought cool yes I've got it in my calendar we are all set and went about my day. The day of the appointment I get told because I didn't reply to the confirmation text my appointment has been canceled. Nothing in the text says that's happening, no phone calls no Voicemail nothing. I called them and left a message stating that I was going to switch to a different office and suggested they make note in the texts that not responding results in appointment cancelation. I'm a busy mom, I hardly ever respond to those messages, and maybe that's my bad but either way I'm fully within my rights to just go somewhere else. I found a new office that was WAY closer to my house, they needed a records release and my x-rays sent over. I called refresh over and over again and left message after message after message for WEEKS. There is no possible way my calls were not being screened because I probably annoyed them. It is now tuesday September 10th and finally I was able to talk to a person. I explained the whole situation and told her what I needed I was NOT rude, I was not happy but in no way was I rude. I told her what I needed and she was not apologetic with all the mess, she was outright rude to me. "Just so you know it can take up to 30 days for insurance to release the records that's them not us" and I said we'll that's super annoying because I've been trying to get this process started for over a month and now the appointment is in days and I'm finally getting through to someone. Ignores what I said, continues on asking for my email, continues to be rude. I asked if there is a manager in the office I can speak to, she says no they aren't in today but I hope you have a great day and ends the call. Unprofessional, rude, condescending. I've never ever had such a horrible experience.

Negative experience: Update: it's been two years since I went there and had a lot of dental work done, including a crown. I switched dentists because I started having issues with the same teeth. 2 weeks ago, my crown fell out. I've had to have several teeth pulled, and now I'm have to get a partial.

Fantastic experience: The time I spent was great, signed in and within 10 minutes I was called to the back and had xray done went straight to a room and (the dentist I had was fabulous and was caring to my needs) and was done in no time, less than a half hour and everything was explained to me. It was overall a great experience!!! I have had anxiety attacks in the past but not this time. I read reviews before I went and they were not good but the experience I was great for me. I would recommend this place, thank you for the best experience I’ve had at a dentist.

Positive experience: I was nervous at first when I booked my appointment because the girls that answered the phone were very rude and short. I’m glad that I kept my appointment. The dentist was amazing and his assistant was very informative and calming. The dentist explains everything he was going to do. He was very thorough. The dental assistant was friendly and warm and showed great empathy.

Positive experience: So here it is this is my second time seeing this dentist. He was fast at getting my two teeth pulled and I had a root in my gum that needed to be pulled to. But afterwards my friend went in there to ask about something for the pain because they didn't give me anything. They said they would let the DR know and get something sent in. But of course that didn't happen so I called myself n the lady on the phone said she would let the DR know again. But of course I didn't get anything. It's 8 at night I can't eat because they pulled teeth on each side. I'm in a lot of pain. But because it isn't them why would they care. I was told by one of the assistance that I should feel better and I didn't need anything for the pain. Well I guess having teeth pulled is no biggy. Don't get me wrong I like the dentist but to me this is in humane. Rant over.

Fantastic experience: This is an Updated review. Before I gave them a 1 star for a policy on out of state ID's but it apparently changed and my visit today was REMARKABLE! The dental hygienist Jessica did a phenomenal job cleaning my teach. She was so meticulous and professional, while being very personable simultaneously! She took her time and my teeth haven't felt this clean in a long time. This was definitely a 5 star performance! She, paired with the lovely and kind African American intake young lady, set the bar so high, the doctor didn't have to do much bc my experience was already top notch! thank I all bc dental offices have lost their persobability and makes patients feel like just a number. Refresh dental austintown is the best in the area, and I have tried out a few (I'm quite picky). Highly Recommend!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Patrakis was great. He but he at ease easily, and I was definitely not feeling a visit to the dentist.. 2 weeks later I had the surgery and it went amazingly well.. He and his staff are the best I've ever dealt with

Fantastic experience: Dr. Petrakis & his staff have always been very friendly, professional & caring towards me & my family. He has taken care of our granddaughter for over 12 years & taught her to trust dentists again after a horrifying experience at another practice when she was only 2yrs old. We are feel blessed to have him as our dentist.

Fantastic experience: Wasn't too happy when getting my teeth pulled, I was trying to let the dentist know I could feel it. I started screaming and crying because it hurt so much. I was basically told to quiet down because there were other patients in the rooms next to me. After that the place I live messed up my appointments so they weren't going to take me unless there was an opening that day, however I'm in a motorized wheelchair so I need a special ride there so it has to be worked out. So they did work it out with me and not the place I live at so I could get my dentures taken care of. It's not that they don't care because they DO!! I just don't think the dentist understood what was happening when he was pulling my teeth. All is forgiven. And I have my teeth and they look perfect!! They look soooo real it's unbelievable!!

Positive experience: My daughter and I both got cleanings together. The Hygienist was gentle in my mouth but after refusing flossing for both my daughter and I she cut my daughter's gums up with tools. We may not go back. Too painful.

Positive experience: They want you to fill out paperwork on your phone. They wait till you’re there to send you the text and then tell you it needs to be done before you leave. Why not send a text with the link the day before so you can have it done before you arrive. There’s three different documents that needs to be completed on your phone before you leave.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very friendly and I didn't have to wait long like other places. The hygienist was very gentle and I barely felt a thing! The doctor addressed any concerns I had and fixed an issue on the spot! Highly recommend and I'll be going back!

Negative experience: Made my first appointment to have a broken tooth checked and was told it would be a month, after that appointment was told that tooth needed to be extracted after about a 2 hour wait and a whole 5 mins if that of looking at my tooth. I was then given a referral and told to call the number to set up an extraction. After 2 weeks of calling I finally got in touch with someone to be told to call back in a month. I have called back and left a message but it’s been a week and no one has returned my call to schedule. 2 months is along time to deal with a broken tooth, I will find a new dentist and I suggest everyone do the same.

Fantastic experience: Went in for my teeth cleaning and hygienist was so friendly and super gentle for the whole process. Since I have well water, I wanted the fluoride treatment. It is well worth the small fee that my insurance doesn’t cover.
