Fantastic experience: Ive have been going to Dr. Gallos since he opened his office in Plainfield, 11 years now and I can honestly say that I have never been to a better dentist in my life! I absolutely love him. All of his staff are extremely nice and professional. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. I have an extreme phobia about going to dentists and Dr. Gallos put me at ease and made me feel completely comfortable from the first visit on. I moved to Wisconsin and I will happily make the trip back to Plainfield just to see him every single time!

Fantastic experience: The whole experience is worthy of a review. Located out of a congested area, the office is clean and comfy with complementary drinks & multi-charger. The staff is friendly. The hygienists are informative and thorough with probing too much. And Dr. Gallos tops the cake with funny, friendly, and just enough options and guidance. He doesn’t max out my dental insurance yearly like my previous dentists.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Gallows and hygienist Olivia were fantastic responding to an oral trauma that my daughter endured while we were visiting family from out of town. Dr. Gallows was quick to respond during off hours, got her in to be seen quickly, and treated her efficiently and kindly. He was great about telling us next steps and giving us the means to communicate with her dentist back home. Hygienist Olivia was beyond kind and compassionate. She cared for my daughter while she was in pain and nauseous and put her at ease all while efficiently assisting Dr. Gallows. I highly recommend Heritage Grove Family Dentist!

Fantastic experience: I finished eating an apple and realized I had a jagged edge on the inside of a front tooth. I telephoned Dr. Gallo’s office to see when I could get in, and she asked if I could get there in the next 40 minutes! I did, and Dr. Pete got me in after waiting five minutes and I had a new filling and was on my way within 25 minutes of going into the office. Amazing service. He says he does his very best to handle urgent requests and was happy to get me in on short notice. He is an amazing detist and can do any dental procedure, including implants for me and braces for my grandson. I highly recommend Dr Gallos to anyone looking for a friendly, caring and reasonable dentist!

Fantastic experience: I'm 71 years old. I have been treated by a different dentist since I was a young man but he hasn't kept up with today's technology and is set in his ways. He also farms out just about everything other than cleaning, fillings and crowns. I am at an the age where I want everything done by one dentist and his staff who uses all of the latest technology to provide complete and seamless dental care to his patients. Dr. Gallo and his staff exceeded my expectations on my first visit. They are kind and considerate, efficient beyond measure and with regard to Dr Gallo's skills, let me just say I am blown away! On my first visit he removed a crown and performed a root canal on one of my molars within 15 minutes. This was accomplished after only 1 shot of numbing agent. There was absolutely no pain involved in the procedure and the pain I had before my treatment immediately disappeared. I have never experienced this in my life. In the past, these treatments performed by other dentists were painful and time consuming. I hope to be a loyal patient to Dr Gallo For the rest of my life. See Dr Gallo For any of your dental needs. You will be as amazed as I am.

Negative experience: While the dentist at this practice is highly skilled, our experience with the office staff has been deeply disappointing and stressful. We have repeatedly encountered unprofessional behavior, including being spoken to in a condescending manner, interrupted, and even yelled at over the phone—making it nearly impossible to voice concerns or ask questions. Additionally, there have been ongoing issues with insurance billing. Despite confirming coverage and accurate information with both of our insurance providers, the office has continued to submit claims incorrectly. When we’ve tried to bring this to their attention, instead of resolving the matter calmly, we’ve received harassing and aggressive phone calls—sometimes while caring for our 2.5-month-old baby at home. Most concerning is the unwillingness of the staff to allow communication with a manager or the dentist when we requested help. Threatening to send a patient to collections while refusing to acknowledge or correct their own billing errors is unacceptable. Because of the repeated mistreatment and lack of professionalism, we will not be returning to this office. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and to have billing concerns addressed, not ignored or escalated through hostile interactions.

Fantastic experience: Heritage Grove Family Dental is truly exceptional—hands down the best dental experience I’ve had in all my years. The entire team goes above and beyond, from the dentist to the hygienists. Not only do they do outstanding work on our teeth, but they’re also incredibly kind, friendly, and personable. I'm Soo happy to have found a dentist in the area that I like. They are strictly adhering to covid guidelines with n-95s and then additional masks on top while cleaning. Anyway, it was a pleasure to come here and the doctor was fabulous as well! *EDIT: Updating my review in 2025 to say Katie is a gem and is my new hygienist!!

Negative experience: EDIT: To think how many people I referred to Dr Gallos. And how he did me so wrong. Back in September of 2020 I had a tooth that was bothering me off and on. Nothing horrible. So I decided to have it looked it. Dr. Gallos said there was no infection or cracks, but the tooth must have been traumatized. Not sure how that happened, as I never injured that tooth. And he didn't explain how. But I trusted him. So he does a root canal. After he tells me to look at the xray. He points out that a canal ran sideways in that tooth and he had no way to access it. So basically he did a partial root canal and closed me up. I'm not a dentist. So I had no idea you can't and should never do a partial root canal. 3.5 years later I started to have pain on and off in that tooth. I went in and Gallos said he saw nothing on xrays. And maybe my bite was off so he adjusted that. I continued to have on and off pain in that tooth. Each time I would go in Gallos would take a xray, bill my insurance company for xray and emergency visit. Starting in February of 2024 the pain started to become worse. I have text messages going back and forth with him about this tooth. End of July in 2024 it was so far at its worst. I missed my family get together, where the entire family from all over got together as my dad wasn't doing well and we were not sure how long he had. A week later he died. And I missed seeing him with all the family around. All because of pain in a tooth that never should of happened. Fast forward to January 8th 2025 when the pain for the first time was so bad it woke me up out of a dead sleep. Tylenol or ibuprofen didn't work. I waited until morning to reach out to Gallos. He had me come in. Again took an xray and again told me he saw nothing wrong. He said he believed I was having muscle spasms due to my TMJ. He gave me an antibiotic and pain killer just in case..."a infection was starting somewhere and it didn't show on the xray." He also gave me a referral to an Endodontist. Again I left confused. But he is the guy who went to dentistry school. He wanted me to follow up with him about 7-10 days later. I called the office and said I didn't take the antibiotic or pain killers. They told me Gallos said it was up to me if I wanted to come in or not. So I didn't. 2 weeks later again I have severe pain in that tooth. This time I call the endodontist office, I'm not gonna call Gallos as this has been going on for over a year. Endodontist gets me in right away. Says I need a re-treatment because the sideways canal that Gallos never cleaned out should never have been left in untreated. Endodontist tried but said it had calcified. She said that will happen if you leave a root canal untreated overtime. She put something in it to try and soften it up and had me come back in a week. Most of February I was dealing with horrible pain. I went back a week later and it didn't work. It just had become to calcified. She attempted another procedure, but that also was not going to work. I asked her why I was in so much pain. She said the untreated root that Gallos left in had become inflamed!!! Causing me severe pain. And that the tooth was not viable. Meaning it had to be removed. I asked Gallos for a meeting. I was clearly upset that he didn't refer me to the endodontist back in September of 2020. The endodontist has the tools to reach a sideways canal, Gallos did not. He first said I was afraid to go anywhere because of Covid. I about fell over! As soon as the mandatory lock down for non essential workers was lifted I was on a plane to Florida in June 2020, July of 2020 and December of 2020. I told him he better not have put that in his notes because that was a lie. He looked and said...oh right, it's not in my notes. He said on Jan 8th he saw inflammation in that tooth. So which was it? Muscle spasms or inflammation? 2 months of pain and the tooth gets pulled. He offers me a little over $800 bucks. After all is said and done, we are looking at $8000!!! How a medical professional thinks it's okay to cause so much pain and costly procedures?!

Fantastic experience: April 2025 If one can use the word “enjoyable” when visiting the dentist, I guess it would be appropriate to do so when visiting Dr. Gallos’ office. I usually request a particular hygienist, but as there was a cancellation, I saw someone else whom I had seen a couple of years ago. Her care, concern and treatment was just what I would expect; so now, I have two hygienists that I’m willing to see. However, if their service is indicative of what is offered by the entire staff at this facility, which I am sure it is, I have no problem with seeing anyone at any time. June 2024. Each time i visit this facility, I am reassured that I chose the right dentist. Dr. Gallos continues to be patient, explaining things in detail, until one has a clear understanding. He is the best. I would never think of going elsewhere. Previous visit: Even though I have my favorite, all of the hygienists are experienced and skilled in their craft. This is one dental facility that you should not be scared of visiting. Dr Gallos is the best! He is gentle and takes time to explain everything in detail. They get booked up pretty quickly, but if you have to get on a waiting list, it’s worth it. Dr. Gallos and the staff will be your go to Dentist for the rest of your life. The only reason I would change is if I moved out of state.

Negative experience: The hygienist is great as is Dr. Gallos but some of their policies are not. I fully agree that there should be a late cancellation policy but it needs to be reasonable. I had a Monday appointment and my entire family contracted norovirus the week before. I called to cancel my appointment on Sunday giving 24 hours notice that we were still sick and shouldn’t come in on Monday. When I went to my rescheduled appointment I was charged a late cancellation fee because they consider anything after 3:00pm Friday a late cancellation for the following Monday according to one of the associates. Next time I will fully be coming in sick.

Fantastic experience: New- Today, I had an emergency visit with a painful abscess molar. I called in early morning and they were able to get me in promptly. Turned out a root canal was necessary. Dr. Gallos and the team take such great care of us. Timing was just before Thanksgiving and still the clients/patients are always the priority. Doc saw the X-ray, laid out the plan to me and I was cared for with comfort throughout. Many thanks to Doc and his team for their phenomenal service bar none! Previously- Had the semi-annual visit today. It’s been a few years that I have been coming here now. I’m so glad to have become a patient here. Today, Sherry the Hygienist was gentle and very thorough. She was another example of how warm and friendly the people are in this practice. Fantastic experience: First time visit. Hygienist was thorough and efficient. Dr Gallos explained the findings on my teeth. He quickly identified a problem area I was aware of but had not indicated to him. I had identified the area multiple times to my previous Dentist & hygienist but was told at each check/up there no problem. Dr Gallos showed me the X-rays and explained his findings and his planned treatment to resolve the problem. I felt I was in good hands and am very happy with this practice.

Fantastic experience: Been going to Dr.Gallows practice very regularly since I was quite young. Saw me through terrible brushing habits, braces, wisdom teeth, a root canal (becuase of the wisdom teeth), and tooth removal (of said root canaled tooth). Dr is incredible and has always been very kind and helpful. Not to mention all the techs are just as kind and helpful. Never had a bad experience in 25 years and the only problem is getting an appointment since they're so good!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr Gallos for several years. He has helped me with my fear of going to the dentist and feel like I’m finally back on track to going regularly. Today I had my teeth cleaned by Rachel and she was excellent. She put me at ease and when I came home my teeth felt clean but I did not have sore gums like I’ve had in he past. I am going back in 6 months. While there I mentioned some teeth that seemed to have erosion, not cavities just some break down of enamel. I’m 65 so I guess it comes with age. Anyway I’m going back in a week and they are going to add some bonding to protect those areas. A month ago dr Gallows replaced a crown and I was so nervous I had to have the laughing gas but they did everything so quickly and efficiently that I feel like I did not need it. So much better than my last dentist. Everyone is great there from front desk waiting area with refreshments to the work, plus they are very good about communicating. Just very well run and effective. Dr. Is not pushy about doing work either. I have one more crown needing replaced but he said to just do it when I am ready. He could have said I needed to do it right away but I felt like he was trying to make things easier for me. Anyway great dentist, techs, hygienists and staff. Oh and no wait for me, right on time.

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr. Gallos for over 20 years. I must say he is one of the best dentists I have ever seen. He cares about his patience, always looking for our best interest, follows up to make sure the work that he did was done correctly and no follow-ups are needed. Over the past 20 years I moved to different cities around Illinois and visited several other dentists, but after having many bad experiences with other dentists I decided to return to Dr. Gallos for all my dental needs regardless of the long commute and time commitment it takes. Fantastic experience: I can't say enough great things about my visit here! I am a very high anxiety patient and I went here for a 2nd opinion on needing a root canal. Dr Gallos treated me with such kindness and didn't make me feel bad about my fears of the dentist. He did multiple tests to make sure I needed a root canal and explained everything to me in detail. Fantastic experience: Never had a better dental experience! Dr Gallos knows what he's doing, has amazing bedside manner, and his Novocain shots are painless. I absolutely highly recommend him. Amazing with kids too, and calms their anxiety!

His fear is REAL and Dr. Gallos' approach was able to calm nerves without unnecessary medication and fix what was causing all of that pain!
