Fantastic experience: Dr Lee was great! I was confused with estimates before but the manager in the billing department provided clarity. Friendly staff! Awesome experience.

Fantastic experience: I was pleasantly surprised that even though there are a ton of chairs (kind of reminded me of a hair salon set up), the staff were prompt, friendly and spent a great amount of time explaining the issues I have with my teeth and what options would be available to fix them. Although it was not good news to me, the staff were very conscientious and friendly and I highly recommend the practice.

Negative experience: My recent visit to Crofton Dental Suite left me with mixed impressions. The front office staff was outstanding—friendly, efficient, and professional. The dental hygienist provided excellent care, demonstrating attentiveness and thoroughness throughout my cleaning. I also found the office environment to be very clean, organized, and welcoming. However, my experience with Dr. Lee was disappointing. In my opinion, he did not demonstrate the professionalism, attentiveness, or patient-centered care that I expect from a dental provider. He did not ask if I had any questions, provide clear explanations about my dental health, or offer guidance on how I might improve my oral care. As a result, I left the appointment feeling neither informed nor confident about my treatment. Patients should feel comfortable, supported, and reassured that their provider is invested in their care. Unfortunately, I did not experience that with Dr. Lee. I believe this is an important area for improvement to ensure all patients feel valued and well cared for at this practice

Tierney and Dr Stout see many many patients but they both have a way that is personal. Dr Stout is not only exceptional but very very nice!

Negative experience: As a re-occurring patient here, their commitment to keep existing patients is clearly not at the forefront of their care experience efforts. I had to wait 8 months for a bi-annual cleaning because the 6 month option was already booked out. My appointment was finally coming up on the schedule this week, and I received a call that they needed to reschedule me…. For March 2026. This is extremely poor practice. It is my understanding from the call that they are experiencing high levels of employee turnover with hygienists leaving, and working through backfilling positions. Though if this is the case, then adjust your strategy to stop taking new patients and serve the community you have built and who has been loyal to you. I would give a 0 out of 5 if I could. Do don’t recommend if you are in need of consistent (standard) routine care. Appointment availability is not their strong suit.

Negative experience: I was so hoping to have a good experience here, but now will never have a chance. I spent over an hour yesterday between phone calls giving the office all my information and filling out forms to come in as a new patient for debilitating TMJ issues and they knew I had TriCare and took all the information and said it should be covered (United Concordia through TriCare) to be called today at almost 7PM saying they do take United Concordia, but not TriCare so I had to cancel my appointment or pay full price. I spoke to TWO people at the front desk who both said they do take some forms of TriCare, but the lady that called me today said they take NONE. Absolute disappointed and quite a waste of time. My dentist doesn't work on TMJ cases and even told me if I had a good experience with Crofton Dental he would start sending TMJ referrals there, which won't happen now. I was really excited to find someone close that could work on TMJ issues that took most insurances so I was really devastated to receive the call. The person didn't have the ability to do anything other than say sorry and that was it. I have seen their responses to negative reviews on here and its all the same generic response to call their office, but what is the point? What can actually be done?

Negative experience: Asked for an appointment. Specifically asked about the exact insurance I had. They made the appointment 3 weeks out. Then called 20 minutes before the appointment to say "actually we dont take that insurance". Incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful of someone's time.

Fantastic experience: Been a patient of the practice for many years. Dr. Stout is one of the most honest people/dentists you could meet! He believes in "keep what you got for as long as you can". He has treated me using that theroy for many years with good results. Could not ask for any more!

Negative experience: After having to reschedule an appointment due to their staffing issue, they said they would call me back for a new appointment. They did not call. When I had to call them to get a new appointment it was 6 months out, now being a year from the last appointment. I requested a new appointment sooner and again told I would get a call (weeks pass) I get an email asking to schedule an appointment. After trying to reschedule again its another its close to a major holiday. Not thrilled with their services at all.

Fantastic experience: I love Crofton Dental. This is my second year with this practice and every visit is top notch due to the welcoming environment and staff being extremely friendly. It important to feel relaxed and at home whether for cleaning or procedure. Dr. Fadness is extremely knowledgeable and professional but what’s most striking is her energetic personality. She is a perfectionist and easy to talk to which is what you want dealing with your teeth. Highly recommend to anyone, you won’t be disappointed!

Positive experience: The dentist at Crofton Dental Suites are professionals who care with passion for providing dental care. The billing staff can do better by using due diligence and care to assess and provide proper billing techniques. I was calling for a billing issue that was not my fault as a claim to my dental insurance did not meet information criteria needed to provide a proper payment. Instead of solving the problem as the claim was rejected 3 times, billing didn’t dig deeper to find out why the claim was denied but chose to bill me instead. My insurance is valid as it has been over my 30 year’s relationship with Crofton Dental. Needless to say billing needs to be more emphatic and provide solutions and not create problems. My relationship as a customer with Crofton Dental has been damaged due to billings unprofessional behavior.

Fantastic experience: I have been trying so hard to find a dentist in the bowie area, I have finally found my home! I love it here and so does my family! My son isn’t usually a talker but his dental hygienist had him going! ❤️ I love the family friendly atmosphere!

Positive experience: My poor son had to wait at least 30 minutes to be seen and then when he did, we unfortunately had a hygienist (that we always have) that we can’t understand at ALL. My son is Autistic, so it wasn’t an ideal situation for him. Also at one point he was saying,”Ow,” but the dentist kept saying,”That doesn’t hurt.” How does he know?!

Fantastic experience: I was seen as a new patient for a dental emergency no one else would touch on a Friday. The front desk was incredible and the entire office is so welcoming! Great experience end to end!

Fantastic experience: Staff was pleasant and helpful. Dental assistants are also nice and patient and the doctor Samuel Lee was pleasant to talk to and work with. I would definitely recommend this clinic to everyone. I needed periodontal work and I was referred to one. I plan to return to this clinic for regular cleaning and check up.

Fantastic experience: I have complete confidence in Dr. Craig Stout and his dental team. Along with Dr. Stout, Susan is the dental technician that has been taking care of me for decades. They are concerned about your whole wellness. They take the time to talk with you, answer any questions and always relieve any worries or concerns. I’ve had all kinds of dental, orthodontic and oral procedures through them. Just yesterday he placed a crown implant. Dr. Stout, and Jeff, another dental tech, made sure I was comfortable and at ease. I have now completed an 8 month journey of extraction, implant and crown replacement for a front tooth. I am thrilled at my new smile. I couldn’t be more pleased with the care I’ve been given. My husband and adult daughter all feel the same about thei expertise and knowledge of Dr. Stout and his associates.

Fantastic experience: I am a senior with many crowns and root canals, just trying to keep up with my oral hygiene. I especially appreciated the dental hygienist who conducted the cleaning. She was very rigorous and thorough, but took care in areas where there is obviously some gum recession. She took care to do a complete job without hurting me. We discussed scheduled periodontal plans. The dentist himself, Dr. Lee, examined me carefully and was pleasant in answering any questions I had.

Fantastic experience: I have been a loyal patient at Crofton Dental Suite for many, many years. Dr. Stout is a caring, cautious and skilled dentist who has always provided my family with excellent care. He listens carefully to what you say. To top that off, he has the greatest personality who will make you laugh and feel at ease. My hygienist, Mozda (sp.), is a lovely young lady who takes great care of me and gives all the time required to do the job well. Fantastic experience: This is the most comfortable dentist office I have ever been too. All the staff are absolutely fantastic and professional. The dental assistants are just as gifted. The front desk staff are highly experienced in the management of insurance issues, and are so friendly and helpful explaining everything. I highly doubt I will ever be as satisfied by another dental office. 5 stars all day. They took the anxiety out of my visit.

Negative experience: My first experience with Crofton Dental was very nice. I called to ask a question about retainers and also managed to make an appointment as a new patient. The staff I spoke with was lovely and knowledgeable and answered all my questions, including about cost. I called again today to revisit the retainer issue after a visit to an orthodontist who recommended a product they didn't make at her office and said to call my dentist for it. Susan picked up and it was awful. She first didn't know if they made the product I needed, but also wouldn't ask someone else and insisted I just had to come in for a consult. She informed me the consult wouldn't be free, but also wouldn't share the cost. So I said, you want me to come in, pay an undisclosed amount, to perhaps be told you don't make this particular product? Cool. She then backtracked and said they probably made it because she has something like it (although before she claimed she didn't know what a full coverage mouthguard was lol). So I asked for a cost range, given that a few weeks prior the same office was able to tell me exactly how much retainers would cost should I decide to get retainers. She said she didn't know and I just had to come in for a consult (again, pay an unknown amount for that consult because she wouldn't tell me how much a regular visit for retainers would cost). The absurdity knows no bounds. I was almost in tears when I hung up - how do we allow this nonsense from medical practices? I called a different practice closer to where I live. Guess what, y'all - the staff was able to tell me if they made the product (they do), the cost for the consult, and the range of prices for the product I need. This may have been an isolated awful experience, but is it absolutely on the practice to train their staff. I insisted that she ask others my questions and she refused to do that also, leaving me with no choice but to go elsewhere. I'll call them to cancel my cleaning appointment for February also, I will not tolerate this sort of treatment. As patients, we deserve to know the cost, even if it's a rough estimate or even a broad lower-upper limit range. EDIT in response to the office reply: there is nothing HIPAA about sharing price ranges for retainers and mouthguards. Make your prices public like any other business does. Post ranges of prices if that is more accurate. A medical practice absolutely knows the most common price ranges for the services/products they provide on a regular basis. That they refuse to share them even when asked by a patient is an entirely different matter and has nothing to do with the actual knowledge of those prices. It's just an unjustified and entirely unethical practice that American patients have far too long allowed for who knows what reason. I am also not entirely sure what the "respectful" reference was for - patients posting public reviews that present the practice in a negative light are not respectful anymore? I do not subscribe to that view.

Negative experience: So... it's really a bad situation when I take the time to sit down and write a negative review. My family started going to this office when my kids were little. Susan has been our hygienist for more than 15 years and she is wonderful so it pains me to say goodbye to her. But the billing department is a complete disaster. I've been going back and forth with them for more than 6 months about a $300 bill where the line items didn't even add up! Not to mention the items were covered by my insurance. The last call I was told everything was taken care of and I would not receive any more statements. Guess what? I got another bill today. This one says "courtesy call" on it that even indicates I spoke with them. I don't have the time to deal with incompetence like this. I cancelled my next appointment and found a new dentist. My kids are now grown and my daughter said she had the same problem and switched dentists. Save yourself a headache and go with another group until they get their mess cleaned up. Update: Adding to my review. Their reply comment is to call so I can resolve this in a respectful manner. I did call - over and over for 6 months in a respectful manner and they did nothing to resolve the issue. Just take a look at the other recent reviews about billing that confirm what I posted. It's sad because it really used to be a good office.

Negative experience: The dental care I have received here has been fine and not the reason for the poor review. My reason for giving one star is the fact that for almost two years now, an unresolved billing issue between Crofton Dental and my insurance (BlueCross) has resulted in dozens of bill sent to be despite the fact that both the billing office and my insurance company agreeing that I should owe nothing. I have been told multiple times by both sides that my insurance has issued payment to Crofton dental, BUT for some reason they refuse to cash the check from my insurance and instead continue to attempt billing me for the charge. And then I was told the other day that apparently it has been sent to collections. This is unacceptable and I am tempted now to escalate this further to take action against them.

Fantastic experience: We moved to Crofton three years ago. I was very anxious about changing our health related services including a new dentist. Crofton Dental Suite settled those fears within the first year. Both my husband and I appreciate the highly trained professional staff and cleanliness of the office. Crofton Dental Suite also has one of the finest dentists we have experienced in the many states we have lived. You cannot go wrong selecting Dr Stout as your dentist. His years of experience; listening skills; combined with common sense solutions to dental issues has been a blessing to our family needs. We both highly recommend Crofton Dental Suite.

Negative experience: Worst dental experience of my life. I went to this dentist because i was having some tooth sensitivity. While the technician was taking x-rays and doing other requirements before I could see the dentist. I closed my eyes to relax. When i opened them, the technician started cleaning the floor with the same gloves that she was using in my mouth. "I said I know you are going to wash your hands," I should have left, but she was in the process of fitting me for a night guard. After leaving the office, I called to express my dissatisfaction with cleanliness, and that I would not be coming back. The office manager assured me that they would assign someone else when the occlusal guard arrived. I agreed to comeback. The occlusal guard did not fit. the dentist filed it down and asked if I wanted her to break off the end to make it fit. That was it. I told them I would just find another dentist. I have still not received my refund. they required me to pay in advance, but I never got a properly fitted guard. Additionally, the dentist told me that there was nothing wrong with the tooth, which was clearly not right according to the next dentist that I saw. read less

Positive experience: In terms of our dentist (Dr. Stout), hygienist (Maureen), Sue in the office who helped me get a response back on my repeated calls for help with concerns I had about our billing statements, and Linda (who handles billing) - all 5 stars. And an extra special thank you and shout out to Linda, who recently resolved our claims and billing going back several years. She spent A LOT of time researching and refiling claims that seemed to have not been processed properly through our 2 sets of insurance causing us to receive erroneous bills. It seems like these billing issues started when the billing was moved to decentralized billing from being done by the practice’s back office (Linda is one of these original staff members, and she knows her stuff).

Fantastic experience: First let me start off by saying I was a little early. I walked in, the ladies were very pleasant and told me no worries for being early. I was told I might be able to be seen before my appointed time. After completing my paperwork, I observed other people starting to come in. When I say this office is very efficient on getting people in…. Hands down. I think someone may have waited 5 minutes if that to be seen. Each person was greeted with a smile. Once I was called, same thing, a smiling face took me back. Walking through the office, the staff looked liked they enjoy what they do. My dentist, Dr. Porsha, was wonderful. Explained everything that she was going to do and did a wonderful job. I will be going back. Hands down.

Fantastic experience: I received a teeth cleaning on this visit. As always, my hygenist J. Ponton, was extremely thorough and paid attention to detail in everything she did. We discussed some issues I was having and she made some suggestions to help in the future. The dentist came in after the cleaning, and found no significant issues. She is also very thorough. I certainly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: The dental hygienist was the best. First time in a very long time my teeth was squeaky clean. Over the years I have returned to a dental office (in Washington DC) cause I could still feel the plaque that wasn't removed during the first visit. I don't remember the hygienist's name but hope I get her again in April 2025

Negative experience: Had an appointment the hygienist canceled on me last minute. Then had to recall to make new appointment for next week. Show up in person the following week and they have no recollection of the phone call. Seems like do not value customers time and receptionist was being rude and hurtful.

Fantastic experience: Kristi was friendly, professional, and expert in taking X-rays and cleaning my teeth. I was also glad to have Dr. Kimlaw review my X-rays and discuss a potential problem spot on a tooth. I felt I was in good hands.

My wait time was very short, the dentist and assistant were expert in the dental work I had done. I felt zero pain during my procedure and it was done way faster than I thought. I highly recommend Crofton dental to everyone!

Positive experience: I love that I always see the same hygienist. Susan is understanding, positive, and professional. Interactions with everyone else are good, but I think the secret to this practice are the hygienists (who you spend most of your time with anyway!).
