Fantastic experience: I would not recommend Magnolia Dental to anyone. I started as a new patient in August of 2024 after my previous dentist retired. As a new patient, I understood that ex rays were necessary on my first visit. When I went for my 3rd appointment on Wednesday, 8/20/25, one year after my ex rays, a new young dentist, didn’t introduce himself, just said he was new to Magnolia came into the room and told me that I had to have ex rays done again because that was their policy. I refused and tried to compromise and have ex rays done every other year. He proceeded to tell me that if I refused the ex rays then they would refuse to clean my teeth. I had no other choice but to leave and his comment was “ good bye and good luck.” To top it off, the young assistant walks me out to the lobby and main desk and proceeds to loudly tells the office staff that I refused the ex rays so they will not be cleaning my teeth. I walked out feeling embarrassed, frustrated and angry. I am 72 years old and have been seeing a dentist regularly since my teenage years and have never been treated with such disrespect. Magnolia Dental is not a warm, comfortable, safe and fair office.

Negative experience: I’d give this place 0 stars if I could, where do I start? First, they not only escorted my mother out after her asking about insurance, but then proceeded to say they were gonna call the police because she was asking questions. Look my mother is a very nice woman and has very bad anxiety even walking out of the house. From them threatening my mother just from asking about how they said they were in the net-working, but assigned her to a Docter that wasn’t within networking, like that’s a professional way to handle the situation? You only call police when it’s a threatening situation and my mother is definitely not a threat. They scared my mother and she told me she felt uncomfortable and proceeded to pay for the whole thing, if it was me I would’ve just walked out and said screw you, but like I said my mother isn’t like that. Even though she didn’t do anything wrong they treated her like shit. I see this place doesn’t support speaking up. This place are treating their clients as cash cows, they say they are within the net-working and then proceed to say you have to pay the full amount because the Docter they assigned you isn’t within the net-working? Basically they have you do all this paperwork for insurance that’s “within networking” and then after your appointment they tell you they aren’t and you have to pay an arm and a leg. This place is more a scam than those AI commercials. This place honestly should be looked into because if you aren’t rich and really don’t need insurance, this is the perfect place for you! They’ll say they take your insurance and then after your procedure, they’ll then tell you how they’re not within net-working and reasons why they tell you after your appointment is because if they told you before then or maybe not lied about it, they would’ve not gotten money from you. Thanks to magnolia dental, it’s going to be difficult to bring my mother back out in public and especially to doctors appointments because she had such a terrible experience and never wants to experience something like that again.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Magnolia dental has been very good thus far. I am new to their practice. I had a tooth that broke and could not see the dentist where I had been going for several days. Magnolia got me in the next day. The staff was understanding and helpful in getting me scheduled quickly. The dentist and dental assistant also did a great job.

Negative experience: UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I scheduled my new patient appointment in my network for my insurance. Arrived at appointment was told by the hygienist that the doctor I just seen for 2 painful teeth was out of network and I now needed to pay for this visit. Further more the x-ray that the doctor recommended was going to be $91 instead of covered because this one doctor was out of network (office is in network). When they apparently asked the senior doctor to assist because he was in network, the hygienist came back and stated he dismissed me. When I was leaving, the receptionist said it was my responsibility to know the responsibilities of my insurance. I do, they were in network!! She asked that I pay the $34, I asked her to bill me. She said no and this is not acceptable and that it would just be a little more than I’d have to pay anyways. Excuse me, $34 is a lot to a family these days. Unbelievably unprofessional! The senior doctor and receptionist need their job responsibilities reminded to them. They are not taking care of patients, they are over charging and dismissing patients. I have never been treated so poorly!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your frustration and would like to clarify the events of your visit to our office.
You scheduled a problem-focused exam and provided your insurance information ahead of time, which we verified as a courtesy. As discussed during your visit, our office is in network with your insurance; however, individual providers within our practice may have different participation statuses. The dentist you saw was indeed out-of-network, and this was explained clearly during your appointment.
Your clinical needs required an additional radiograph to properly assess your symptoms. This was recommended in your best interest. Your signed financial consent form—completed before treatment—states that you accept financial responsibility for services provided, including any portion not covered by insurance, due at the time of service. This policy is standard in dental and medical practices.
At no point was any patient “dismissed.” The senior dentist was consulted as a courtesy to explore options, not to take over care. The assistant did not state that you were dismissed, nor was any such action taken. You declined the recommended treatment solely based on personal financial concerns, not due to how you were treated by any team member.
Regarding the $34 copayment: This was the portion not covered by your insurance for the services you received. Our office, like most, does not bill for small copayments due at the time of service, and this was also explained courteously at checkout. We regret that this standard policy caused frustration.
We are committed to providing respectful and transparent care to all patients. While we understand that dental expenses can be stressful, we also believe in open and honest communication. We stand by the professionalism of our team and the clinical integrity of the care you were offered.
If you would like to speak with our office directly to resolve any confusion, we welcome the opportunity to do so.

Negative experience: While the dentist I worked with was fantastic, the office staff ruined my experience. I have only been a patient for a few months, but in this time I have spent close to $2000 between out of pocket costs and insurance. I had an appointment on 6/25 that I attempted to cancel on 6/24. On 6/25 I get a reminder of the appointment which I also replied to. The office staff person argued with me and claimed to have never received a timely cancelation request. I was charged a $75 fee. I explained the situation, but no concession was given. During my time as a patient I always paid on a timely basis, as a matter of fact, I had prepaid for upcoming dental work. I will miss working with my dentist, but I wouldn't step foot in this place again due to her very unprofessional attitude. I work in customer service and I would never treat a customer so poorly. Extremely disappointed!!

Negative experience: Cancelled my appointment at random, wanted me to pay a cancellation fee for said appointment, now is refusing to send my dental records to my new dentist office.

Magnolia Dental
Magnolia Dental

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration and would like to clarify a few important points.

Your appointment was scheduled with the condition that it be confirmed in advance. As part of our standard policy to respect the time of our team and other patients, we made multiple attempts to contact you for confirmation. When we did not receive a response, the appointment was cancelled and you were notified. You only responded after receiving that cancellation notice.

Regarding your claim that we refused to send your records to another office — that is simply not accurate. We processed your request promptly and have documented proof of successful delivery to the dental office you designated.

We take patient care and communication seriously, and while we understand not every situation goes as expected, we strive to handle all interactions with professionalism and fairness. If you'd like to discuss this further, you're welcome to contact our office directly.

Negative experience: I wish I had read other patient reviews online before trying this office. I agree with what others have said about the outrageous quotes on dental work and unnecessary suggestions. When I made an appointment with another dental office to get a second opinion and requested my records it took a ridiculous amount of work to get my X-rays. When I had trouble using their secure platform to receive records I called their office and was blamed for the technical issues. They threatened to charge me $25 if they had to send the records again even though I wasn’t able to access them through their platform. If you want an office that clearly wants to make as much money as possible regardless of what you actually need done I suggest this office. If you would rather avoid the feeling of being in a car dealership with a shady salesman I suggest looking elsewhere.

Magnolia Dental
Magnolia Dental

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear you felt frustrated, and we’d like to clarify the facts regarding your records request.

Our office follows HIPAA guidelines, which require identity verification before releasing any patient records. This is a legal safeguard designed to protect your private health information. When you encountered difficulty accessing your records through our secure platform, our team promptly assisted you and re-sent the records after confirming your identity — all within the proper timeframe and with your cooperation.

The mention of a $25 charge was simply in reference to additional, repeated requests for records beyond the initial delivery — not a threat, but a standard policy we disclose in advance to avoid misunderstandings.

As for your comments about our treatment approach, we strive to provide care based on clinical necessity and patient education. Our recommendations are always intended to support long-term dental health and are never driven by sales tactics.

We understand that not every experience meets expectations, but we are committed to respectful communication, patient privacy, and quality care. If you would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to contact our office directly.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this dental office to anyone — especially those with dental anxiety or who rely on their insurance being clearly explained. I was told they accepted CareFirst, but no one ever clarified that they were out-of-network for my plan. After paying over $700 at the time of service, I later received a check from my insurance (with zero explanation) — and then got sent to collections while I was still trying to get answers. Now they’re demanding I pay a 30% collections fee on top of the original bill. On top of that, the clinical experience was terrible. The dentist I saw, Dr. Kyle, was incredibly slow and uncommunicative. I normally saw a different woman and was not told that I would be getting a new dentist. I was getting a crown prep and had a panic attack during the procedure — he kept saying "almost done" while continuing for another 30 minutes over and over, taking over 2.5 hours in total to prep. There was no support, no compassion, and no follow-up. I was given a wet paper towel once I said I felt like I wanted to stop the procedure and leave. I’ve since switched to The Tooth Cafe, and they’ve been incredible. If you’ve had trauma from a dentist before, they’ll treat you with the kindness and patience this place didn’t. I regret going to Magnolia and hope others avoid the same experience.

Fantastic experience: My first visit and they were ready. Everyone there has a friendly smile and moves through their responsibility with ease. They suggested several things I need to have done (have not seen a dentist in 3-4 years) I wanted it done in a different order than they recommended and it was no problem. Feel very comfortable and look forward to my next visit.

Negative experience: I had two fillings done at Magnolia Dental after switching to their practice. After a month, one was still hurting & was very sensitive. I assumed this was normal and part of the healing process. 5 weeks after having the filling placed, it fell out of my tooth. I have never had this happen. I was left in extreme pain with a large hole in my tooth’s structure. I called right at 8 am when they opened and was rudely told that they did not have any openings that day and that they couldn’t “just make an appointment.” They appear to be accommodating for urgent dental needs; however, that is sadly not the case. Thankfully another dental practice in the area was very compassionate and was able to get me in same day & correct Magnolia Dental’s subpar work. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere before choosing this practice.

Negative experience: Absolutely do NOT recommend. Came down with an illness day of my appointment, decided to call in and reschedule to not spread anything. Was told sure no problem. 1 month later, 75$ bill in the mail for last minute cancellation. Called to explain and was told I should have came in, nothing they can do about it I now owe 75$. Find a dentist office where you don’t have to worry about getting sick from other patients, and one that cares more about you than your wallet.

Magnolia Dental
Magnolia Dental

Thank you for your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you're upset about the cancellation fee. We understand that illness can arise unexpectedly, and we hope you're feeling better.

That said, our patient registration forms — which all patients review and sign — clearly state that late cancellations may be subject to a fee. This policy is in place to respect the time we reserve for each of our patients, and to allow others the opportunity to be seen if time allows.

We would like to clarify an important point: At no time did our team suggest that you should have come in while sick. In fact, as our recorded call confirms, we told you that we would NOT want you to attend your appointment if you were unwell — especially for the safety of our team and other patients.

We understand this policy may feel frustrating in the moment, but we do our best to be transparent and fair. We truly value all our patients and appreciate your understanding of how this helps us continue to provide timely care to everyone in our practice.

If you’d like to discuss this further, feel free to contact our office directly. We’re always open to a respectful conversation.

Fantastic experience: Treats you with respect and courtesy. The staff is professional and doesn’t goof around, like some other practices do. We left our previous dentist practice bc of the lack of professionalism. Magnolia’s professionalism and kindness makes us feel very comfortable. They kept their appointment commitments and were even able to get my wife and I in for appointments close together which was very convenient and appreciated.

Magnolia Dental

Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing Magnolia Dental! We're honored that you’ve placed your trust in our team. Professionalism, respect, and making our patients feel truly cared for are at the heart of what we do, so your feedback means the world to us. We’re glad we could make scheduling convenient for you and your wife, and we look forward to continuing to provide the level of care and courtesy you deserve.

Sara Boza 7 months ago

Negative experience: It isn’t really about the work itself, more the policies. I’m a stay at home mom with a toddler and I had to reschedule twice due to my toddler being sick with the flu and throwing up. Not once when I was on the phone did they tell me there would be a cancellation fee, and though when I called the office. I feel like that is something that should be told up front so you’re aware when you come in. Then on top of that when I left they wanted to charge me another 75.00 for my cleaning. No thank you. I won’t be coming back, nor will I recommend.

Magnolia Dental
Magnolia Dental

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide some clarification.

Upon reviewing your account and call history, we found that you canceled or rescheduled your child’s appointments three times on March 6th, March 10th, and March 17th. While we completely understand that unexpected situations can arise, our Missed and Cancelled Appointment Policy—which you acknowledged and signed during your registration—clearly states that there may be a charge for missed or canceled appointments without at least 24 hours' notice.

As a courtesy, we did not apply a fee for the first missed appointment. However, subsequent cancellations were charged in accordance with our policy. It’s important for us to maintain availability for all our patients, and repeated last-minute cancellations make it difficult for other families to access timely care.

Additionally, our team works hard to explain our policies both in the paperwork and during phone conversations. While we strive to provide reminders, it is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to be aware of the policies they have agreed to.

We value all our patients and always aim to provide high-quality care and communication. We’re sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations and wish you the best moving forward.

Negative experience: Went in to have a tooth checked, they took an xray which is paid for thru my insurance. And the Dentist then tapped on my tooth with an instrument to see if I had pain. I was in the chair all of 15 mins. And I was charged $86 for him to tap on my tooth??? I will not go back, I can see $35-40....but $86? If he would have told me what it was going to cost before tapping on my tooth I would have said NO!!!

Magnolia Dental
Magnolia Dental

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad we were able to see you promptly and evaluate your concern thoroughly. The diagnostic test you referenced is a standard part of determining the cause of dental pain and is essential for accurate treatment planning. While your insurance may cover certain aspects like X-rays, it does not always cover diagnostic evaluations, and unfortunately, that’s something we don’t control. We always aim to be clear about costs, and our team is happy to discuss fees at any point if asked. We stand by the quality and value of the care we provide and appreciate the opportunity to have helped assess your issue.

Negative experience: I had an appointment for early Monday Morning. I came down with the flu or covid on the Friday before. On Saturday, I knew I would be too ill to make my appointment for first thing on Monday. I googled Magnolia Dental and it said they were open on Saturday. I called them before their posted closing hours. I left a voicemail saying I was ill and would not make my appointment on Monday. Well beyond their 24 hour cutoff. On Monday morning they called me and said they got my voicemail and did I want to reschedule my appointment. I said I would call when I was feeling better. Several months later I get a bill in the mail for $178 dollars, for not one but two appointments. And they said I didn’t cancel in time and that I had to pay for the two appointments. I explained how on google is said that they were open and they said they were only open every other Saturday which is not reflected on google. And I asked what are you supposed to do if you’re sick and your appointment is for first thing Monday morning if no one is monitoring their VM or answering the phone on Saturday. They did not offer a solution. They have now turned me over to a collection agency and I will continue to refuse to pay. I did everything to follow their 24 hour cancellation policy and they are still trying to collect.

Negative experience: Do not go here, they care about the money not the customer. Called me today when I was at work just to make a threat that if I didn’t make a payment of $25 I would be sent to collections. I didn’t even know I owned $25. Was scheduled for Feb 17th, that got canceled today after paying the $25 and questioning them about the way they came at me. “Your appointment has been canceled for February 17th because we don’t longer have a good relationship “ They are not very good with the things they do here. Only reason I liked coming here was because they are opened every other Saturday. 1 customer in a review mentioned her crown came off after 2 years. I had 1 done here not too long ago that came off after 2 weeks. (My previous crown lasted 12 years) Had to come back a few times and even after having the crown redone I got tired of having to come back and just ended up with a crown that doesn’t feel right. Will most likely come off soon. They will rush the cleaning, cleaning is not very good. Money hungry.

Negative experience: It's definitely not somewhere i will go back to, the dentist couldn't tell me if I actually needed a root canal for sure or not. He switched up on if I should 3 times. They are waaaay too overpriced, I never felt pain until the dentist was done. I have been going to the dentist for 41 yrs of my life and never have I been shot with numbing liquid in 7 different places. My mouth was sore for weeks in every place he stuck that needle to be exact. The absolute worse dental experience I've ever had.

Fantastic experience: First visit was amazing. After a hellacious experience at another local dentist office (Middletown commons family dental) I needed a new dentist. After reading the amazing reviews I thought I’d try Magnolia Dental and So far I am more than impressed. I was cheerfully greeted and made to feel welcome immediately. The facility is beautiful and the staff was amazing, friendly and actually listened to my concerns and showed compassion. Dr Taylor was so kind and showed genuine care and took care of my needs immediately. I am so excited to have found my new Dentist.

Negative experience: If you have a family, be aware that this place enforces a policy where they will only see couples during a single appointment, which feels extremely restrictive and inconvenient. Even more frustrating, if you have a child, you are required to schedule a separate appointment for them. So, for people with families, please reconsider your dentists before making an appointment!!!

Positive experience: Edit: I used to love Magnolia Dental but I recently needed to reschedule my 6 month cleaning due to conflicts with my work schedule and was told that to make any future appointments I had to pay a $75 deposit. I only ask to reschedule my appointment twice and I gave more than 24 hr notice, which I thought was the policy. So now I’m looking for a new dentist that is more understanding when schedule conflicts arise. I have been a patient with Magnolia Dental for about 2 years now and my experience has been pleasurable. The staff there are very friendly, welcoming, and comforting. They are also very personable. They greet me by first name when I come in. In addition, they are punctual and have you in and out in a timely manner. There are no long waiting times and they’ll have you back within a few minutes of arrival for your appointment. I’m so glad my friend recommended them to me.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re truly sorry to hear about your recent experience and understand your frustration. At Magnolia Dental, we aim to provide the highest level of care while maintaining policies that help us run efficiently and serve all of our patients. Our $75 deposit policy is in place to ensure that we can accommodate everyone’s schedule and prevent missed appointments, which can impact others who need care.

We understand that life and work schedules can change unexpectedly, and we do our best to be flexible when possible. Our policy requires more than 24 hours’ notice for rescheduling, and we always strive to balance our commitment to excellent care with understanding and respect for our patients’ needs.

We value your feedback and will take it into account as we continue to improve our approach. If you'd like to discuss this further or if we can assist you in any way, please feel free to reach out directly. We’d love the opportunity to regain your trust and work with you in the future.

Fantastic experience: I was seen very quickly for a cracked filling. They seen me and as the dentist who saw me first was leaving they put another dentist on my case as they didn't want two different dentists working on the same job. In 2 hours of nonstop work they had removed the filling and put on a temporary crown.

Fantastic experience: I like being able to make appointments for a certain time and not have to wait 20 min or so to go back unless there’s an emergency. They are punctual have a friendly staff and the latest technology that also helps shorten your appointment time. They also work with you financially and let you know upfront what your costs will be if you have to pay out of pocket.

Fantastic experience: This was the BEST dental experience I ever had. I have serious anxiety when dealing with dentists. I called Magnolia Dental for an emergency extraction because I was in so much pain and they scheduled me an appointment for the next day at opening. The front desk staff were friendly and compassionate. Dr. Taylor and his assistant were awesome at keeping me calm and did not judge me for needing them. The procedure was quick and painless. Though I had to pay out of pocket, the visit was affordable and well worth my money. I even ended up getting some of my money back. What a blessing! I just found my new dentist and I look forward to my next appointment. I highly recommend!!!

Negative experience: There was an issue with our insurance where on the dentist office side they could not see the correct start date. Even though both my employer and Anthrn shared screen shots of correct start date they would not accept. I had to pay full price of a comprehensive exam. I did because I knew it could be reran when the issue cleared, which was the very next day. The receptionist did not know anything about providing a decent customer experience. At all. When I called she told me o had to wait three weeks to get reimbursed because they wanted their money from Anthrn first. Simple minded. She had the authorization so why hold my money hostage. $399. Poor customer service. I know Nagnolia can meet payroll without holding my money for three weeks. Ridiculous. The person I spoke to could care less but they lost three customers that day.

Ylonda,

We strive to help patients everyday make the most of their insurance coverage. We don't, however, control the insurance company and their systems, so we can only rely on what is available to us through their portals or their agents. Ultimately, dental insurance is a form of patient payment for services provided. If no insurance can be confirmed, then we do ask to be paid for our services when they are rendered.

We will gladly inactivate your account with our office, and wish you well.

Negative experience: This is NOT where you want to go for personal dental care. This is a corporation and it shows. I received a $75 charge as a “no show” even though I attempted to reschedule. They have a policy that if it’s under 24 hour notice, you get a no show charge. They also call and remind you in UNDER 24 hours on purpose. Basically it’s a trap in case something comes up and you need to reschedule. The person on the phone was also extremely rude. When I asked to reschedule she went straight to fees and didn’t even try to help or ask why. They do send you an option to confirm your appointment via BUT there isn’t a way to reschedule on that text. I also was out of the country for a funeral and I never even got these messages. In summary, this dentist doesn’t care about getting you into their office and taking care of your teeth. It’s a corporation and you’re a number. I would recommend other dental offices that don’t feel like a corporation.

Magnolia Dental
Magnolia Dental

Daniel,

We are a privately owned practice, not a corporation and take pride in the high number of 5-star reviews we've received.

You, like all of our patients, make your own appointments and we expect that you are responsible for keeping or changing them. We send reminders as a courtesy only, and it offers a choice to confirm or cancel. Reschedules are not handled through that system so we can find a better time for you. If you indicate you no longer wish to receive text messages, which you did 10 days before your appointment, no other texts are sent.

We gave a courtesy call in a last attempt to reach you since you hadn't responded to any of our other attempts. That's when you told us you were cancelling your appointment, which likely means had we not called you would not shown for your appointment and wasted the time that another patient might have desired.

Negative experience: Review of Magnolia Dental Office I had a frustrating experience at Magnolia Dental Office. In 2021, I paid $2,500 cash for a root canal and crown. Initially, I missed an appointment due to COVID and I was also undergoing radiation for breast cancer so I was just drained. I had my root canal but need the crown placed but They wouldn’t see me until I paid for that missed appointment, $75. I paid that and we eventually got through that. Then I went in and got my crown placed. Fast forward to 2024, and my crown, which should have lasted in upwards of 10-12 years, broke clean off after only 2.5 years. Please note: I have a previous root canal and crown placed by a different dentist office that is still going strong after 12 years. When I called to discuss fixing it, they said they would help but required upfront payment for the office visit and X-rays, which felt very unprofessional due to the fact this was their work we were fixing. Additionally, from the beginning the front desk staff were not very hospitable, which added to my dissatisfaction. Overall, I cannot recommend Magnolia Dental Office based on my experience. If you read above I Did bring my account into good standing with the payment For the missed appointment or they wouldn’t have seen me at all to get my crown placed. They are money motivated. If I had not paid for the missed appointment, I wouldn’t have gotten my crown placed at all. They won’t see you if you owe anything. So for them to say that my account was not in good standing and my credit worthiness is in question is not true. when I had my crown placed I owed nothing. I paid what I owed in hard earned cash. Also 2 and a half years is not SEVERAL years.

Magnolia Dental

Kendra,

Since your account was not in good standing due to payment issues, we require prepayment for visits until you re-establish your creditworthiness with our business.

Regarding your previous treatment, though we couldn't know the exact cause of your problem, but several years have passed since we saw you last, and there are many reasons dental work can fail including not getting routine care or accidents/trauma. Any of these, and more, can affect the longevity of a restoration; all of which were in the consent discussion you signed previously.

Negative experience: Terrible, was unable to get X-Rays because the technician repeatedly making me gag until the point I was dry heaving and about to puke. I then asked for a cleaning with no X-Rays which they refused ( because they want to bill insurance and get all their money ). Then was greeted with a 75$ broken appointment bill because I didn’t want to puke on their floor. Lesson learned, if you go here keep trying the X-Rays until you get sick or you will get a bill. Called and spoke with Stephanie who said they were unable to work with me on this. Don’t waste your time.

Fantastic experience: I am generally opposed to Dentists, but have been using Magnolia for about a year now to cover some major neglected work, and regular cleanings. Magnolia excels at customer service. They’re very good at communicating to their customers so that nothing is unexpected. The quality of the service has been excellent. I do feel like a valued customer and feel like I’m in control. That’s important to me.

Fantastic experience: I am new to the Louisville area and when I needed a dentist fast due to a broken tooth, they were very accommodating. The entire staff was so nice and professional. The dentist and dental assistant were both amazing to me. They went above and beyond to make me comfortable during my procedure. I will continue to go here, and I would recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: Showed up for my scheduled appointment only to find out that it was somehow cancelled. I received a confirmation email that I had an appointment but nothing stating that it was cancelled. The woman that took my appointment seemed very bothered that she was answering the phone and the woman at the desk seemed even more bothered that I showed up. The staff is unprofessional and this would not be a business that I would support or trust to complete anything of significance.

Fantastic experience: Best TMJ specialist, most of my life I've always had been told get a mouth guard but no one ever took the time to actually take my TMJ seriously. This place and Dr Charles actually took the time and examined with xrays to pinpoint what is happening with my TMJ and started right away on treatment. Unfortunately, my TMJ has gone far beyond what he was able to provide but that doesn't mean he isn't willing to be support as I move on to recommended places he provided me. If it wasn't for Dr Charles, I don't know if anyone would have paid attention to my TMJ or know what to do. I've been so blessed and very grateful for him and his team. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Bait and switch business practice, avoid. I went in 9/5/24 for tooth pain. I was advised I can receive a root canal for $1460 or have the tooth pulled for around $300. I asked multiple times if the total cost would just be $1460, they confirmed. After signing the tablet with medical lingo hiding the (not including restoration that I later find out) they completed a partial procedure and advised I'll need to come back next week to finish. I paid the $1460 at the front, after paying I was advised I'll need to come back a third time to pay an additional $1800 (not sure on exact number) for a crown. I mentioned I wasn't told anything about this previously and asked if I can just have the tooth removed, they can keep the payment for work done and minus the removal price from the $1400 I've paid. They advised they don't offer refunds and I would need to pay an additional $300 to have the tooth removed, on top of the $1400 for uncompleted work. They later called back to offer a "membership?" that would give me 20% off, taking my additional $1800 down. Highly suggest avoiding this business or if you do decide to go here ask for the full price of anything and fine tooth comb the 20 documents you sign. All that aside, the staff seemed nice all around and I'm not sure if this was their intent, but reading other 1 star reviews I think it's just a training practice. EDIT 9/11/24: I can't post a direct reply to their reply. I was 100% not made "very" aware of anything beyond the $1460 or I would have not agreed to it, if that was the case this wouldn't be an issue and I wouldn't be taking a $1400 loss... I even asked multiple times, the only time additional procedures were mentioned was after I had paid up front and I was informed that I'll need to come back a third time to pay an additional $1800. I'm willing to sign a release form if they would like to post the camera footage if available to backup anything that they're saying below. The assistant wasn't in the room when she brought the tablet in and we talked about pricing.

Magnolia Dental
Magnolia Dental

Stevie,

You were made very aware of the treatment options and what was included in the cost estimate. Both the scheduler and assistant in the room attest to this fact. Your cost estimate as well as the consent, both you signed, made it clear you were only being billed for the procedure that day and no additional work was included.

We pride ourselves on explaining your options in understandable terms, and we are confused how you got the idea that multiple procedures were included in the cost estimate. But since you changed your mind about the first treatment, all of the rest is moot.

Negative experience: They did a great job of working me in on a Monday when I called on Saturday from the ER. I passed out from food poisoning and bashed my face in my bathroom floor so I had 3 teeth completely angled in and down. By the time I got in Monday my teeth were more in line but the dentist numbed me up really good pushed them Back into place and put a temporary braces piece on. Biggest problem I have is I am in tremendous pain from all of this and I called the office to see if they can call in a prescription and was told to take 3 ibuprofen/2 Tylenol. Look I get it, we are all scared of the pain pills abusers but have a heart! The ibu/Tylenol is not helping and I’m miserable. So great on the niceness of the dentist but if you have a procedure here just know good luck on your pain afterwards

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Dental was unlike any previous visit to the dentist. The dentist, assistant & staff were pitch perfect. They were highly competent, warm & very supportive. Even the architecture & interior design were set to reduce stress. Curved walls, colors, flow & smells worked n harmony down to the silk magnolias placed strategically. Bravo!

Negative experience: Unbelievable Service and Ridiculous Cancellation Fees I had the most frustrating experience with Magnolia Dental that left me completely dissatisfied and furious. Here’s a breakdown of my ordeal: I had an appointment scheduled for 4 PM, but due to an unexpected work emergency (I work in IT and things can get hectic), I called about 4 hours in advance to reschedule. The receptionist informed me that rescheduling would incur a $75 same-day cancellation fee. Fine, I accepted that and moved the appointment to 7:30 PM. Then, at around 4 PM, I received a call informing me that I had another appointment at 5 PM. This was news to me, as I had only been aware of the 4 PM slot. With my schedule in disarray, it was too late for me to make the 5 PM appointment, and the receptionist insisted I would need to pay another $75 cancellation fee for this appointment as well. Now I was left with two appointments on two separate days, which was impractical given my schedule. After this mess, I chose to cancel both appointments. So, now I’m stuck with $150 in cancellation fees for a situation that was out of my control. Let’s be clear: I understand the need for policies, but this is ridiculous. I’ve never encountered such a rigid and unsympathetic approach to a first-time tardiness or rescheduling. Most places offer at least one rescheduling without imposing hefty fees. Magnolia Dental’s policies are draconian and their customer service is abysmal. I will never return to Magnolia Dental and would strongly advise anyone to think twice before booking an appointment here. The lack of flexibility and consideration for unexpected circumstances is unacceptable.

Negative experience: My original appointment was canceled bc for some odd reason they didn't have anyone available to provide service. Then was supposed to have an appointment today but had to cancel bc LG&E needed to get in my backyard. Life happens sometimes so instead of working with me and reschedule my appointment they want to charge me a fee for not being able to make today's appointment. Then on top of that the dentist I was seeing evidently left. No communication from the office to inform me of this change. So, they would rather charge me a fee instead of keeping me as a client. THAT IS NOT A SMART BUSINESS PLAN. LOL Received my $75 fee the very next day, they must really need the money.

Negative experience: Best dentist I have ever been to! I get some major anxiety about dentist visits but my first cavity filling with them was so pleasant and easy and painless! Highly recommend!! *update* I ended up needing 2 crowns which cost $2000+ after insurance was exhausted. And 2 months later they are hurting again so I have to go find another dentist that will actually help me. Disappointed about all the money and time I wasted :(

Negative experience: I'm disappointed for a few reasons: First of all, they sent me to collections over $25. I paid $50 for a missed appointment fee because I couldn't leave work, but then they charged a late fee on top of the missed appointment fee. Secondly I called to make an appointment recently and they said because I had been sent to collections they would not bill my insurance, I would have to fill out my own paperwork for insurance reimbursement and pay 100% up front. It's just policy, she said. I asked if that was legal to penalize people like that, especially over such a minimal sum. She said yes it was legal and there was nothing she could do (probably true but really bad customer experience). They lost my business over $25.

Rebecca Johnson 1 year ago

Negative experience: The staff at the front desk is hit or miss. Most are nice, but a few are horrible to deal with. Care from Dental Assistants is great, but I can't say the same for the Dentists. The lab they use to make crowns is horrific. I've had several crowns put on there and they've been nothing but a problem since day 1. Same with my bridge. I've had them adjusted multiple times, but my bite is still off. I got tired of continuously returning to had my bite adjusted and found a new Dentist that actually knows how to complete dental work the proper way. Also, don't even think about trying to cancel an appointment the morning of due to an emergency or being called into work. They don't care and will charge you $75. They won't send you an invoice for the $75, instead they'll call you a month or so later and threaten you with collections. I understand that they have a cancellation policy, but when you've ALWAYS kept your appointments and unfortunately have to cancel just one due to an emergency at work, they could care less. They however, can call you to cancel an appointment due to being overbooked or having a employee out. Do you research and stay away!

Negative experience: Not even a patient. Called to schedule my husband as a new patient appointment, expectation was verbalized to have NPPW completed before appointment to keep appointment (no time frame given). Called 4/19 to schedule an appointment for 4/20 at 1pm. My husbands ONLY day “off” is Sunday. He cares for family and works obscene hours everyday…on top of being a husband. Life is CRAZY and CHAOTIC!! At 10:56am on 4/20, we get a text that says appointment was cancelled. To my understanding as long as it was completed BEFORE appointment, that was satisfactory. My husband calls 4/21 to try and reschedule, they informed him that with a no show he is now responsible to pay a deposit of $75. I’ve worked in every facet of the dental office for 13 years, I have NEVER been bound into an agreement that was NEVER stated before hand or signed in contract. The level of unprofessionalism with this office and team is why I’m writing this. I called to try and understand at what point we were in the wrong, she kept talking over me and stated that this was all of my responsibility and failing to adhere caused this. I called to speak to a manager/office administrator/owner/RD…come to my surprise I was advised that they had NONE!! Stated the one doctor is it ALL, maybe that’s why your team is unhinged and shows no respect to your community of potential patients.
