Fantastic experience: Dental Dreams -Blue Island is a wonderful place to go for dental place. The whole entire staffing are so very nice and polite. The explain every detail what going on with your mouth and if you have any questions the Doctor and Nurse will explaining to you. When you walk in the door the reception are so very friendly and polite Also I would like to say when I went to Dental Dream - Blue Island today the Doctor and Nurse was so very polite and friendly they answer all of my questions. Positive experience: The dentist and his assistant were great! The dentist explained the entire tooth extraction and my options. He explained every phase of the tooth extraction process to the final removal. The only other minor improvement is the receptionist, in the intake/waiting area, should be more communicable rather than you having to inquire if something pertaining to you specifically, that you are not aware of, that is causing a longer wait to see a dentist. I would recommend going there.

Positive experience: Staff is always courteous and polite. I absolutely love my dentist. She very knowledgeable about any procedure I'm having done as well as what my insurance company covers. My only complaint is the wait time. If I have an appointment I shouldn't have to wait an hour or more after my appointment time. Please work on that

Fantastic experience: Wow! Much improved since my last visit. The professionalism of the staff and environment is now in line with what you would expect from a good Dental office. Dr. Mahmood is Awesome! She provided multiple options to repair my bridge. And I didn't think they would do anything that day, but they did! I was told by 3 other Dental offices nearby that I would have to wait for various reasons before they could help me. I was surprised when Dr. Mahmood took the extra time to explain my options, answer all my questions patiently, and discuss the cost. 6 Stars! I

Negative experience: arrived on time for my appointment, only to wait for 45 minutes without being called. There was no communication or explanation, and after such a long wait, we ended up leaving. The place is completely disorganized, and it’s clear they don’t respect people’s time. What’s worse, they didn’t make any effort to follow up or find a better time to accommodate me. Very disappointing experience, and I won’t be coming back.

Negative experience: Customer service at this place of business is horrible. Scheduled @ 3pm appointment for daughter's dental exam. We arrived 20 minutes prior. Was asked to wait to be called. About a hour went by and there was no form of communication in regard to when my daughter would be seen. Two people who came in after me were called before my child. No sort of proper courtesy of updating. The two ladies at the front desk needs to work more on proper customer service skills and communication skills. You both are TOO grown to NOT know how to communicate efficiently and effectively. Absolutely unacceptable.

Negative experience: I’m not happy with this Dentist Office. The staff is very rude over the phone. The doctor did not explain how to put my partial in. She does not have time for her patient. I got 2 sets of partials, top and bottom. The bottom fits perfectly. I have been back 4 times in 2 months and my top partials still hurts my mouth. All she does is grind them and say ok. I have explained that they are not comfortable.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. The dr DID NOT GIVE ME A Cleaning the lady polished my Teeth after told the dr that’s she’s ready and he waved his hands and said she’s done. I will be calling my insurance in the morning because how dear him as if I haven’t had cleanings before. I know what’s expected and he did not come close. This isn’t right for people who actually have things wrong with their teeth and not properly being told what’s the problem and solutions to fix it. I will continue to report this incident until something is done.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office. My appointment was scheduled for 3:30 PM, and I arrived early at 3:19 PM, but I wasn't seen until around 4:40 PM. After finally being taken to the back, it took another 20 minutes just to complete x-rays. My main concern for the day was tooth sensitivity after a previous wisdom tooth extraction, but I was there specifically to get a filling done. The doctor said he could do the filling that day and mentioned they’d just need to review the insurance coverage before proceeding. After waiting, I was told my insurance wouldn’t cover the filling and that it would cost $146 out-of-pocket. This was confusing because I’ve had the same services done here before and only paid $38. I asked to speak to a manager because the pricing didn’t add up and I felt like I was being misled. Initially, I was told the manager wasn’t available, but the assistant came back with a new price—my insurance would cover $76.20, and I’d owe $69.80. That was more reasonable, so I agreed and gave them my card to pay. Then, out of nowhere, the manager shows up and says it’s now 5 PM and the doctor doesn’t want to do the filling anymore because he wants to leave on time. After waiting nearly two hours, I didn’t receive any treatment. The doctor was dismissive and showed no regard for the time I spent waiting. I left without receiving any services and was extremely frustrated. I would not recommend this dental office to anyone, especially those with private insurance. The lack of communication, transparency, and basic customer care was unacceptable.

Negative experience: They take SOOOOO long to answer calls, they over lap their appointments so it makes a simple 30 mins appointment to a 2 - 3 hour wait appointment. This place is a joke. Also was told I needed a root canal from one of the dentist and on my next appointment there with a different dentist she told me I never even needed a root canal done that she didn’t know why the first dentist told me I needed one in the first place.

Negative experience: I wish I could give it 0 stars. The customer service was TERRIBLE for my first time being a patient there. The person that was doing my X-rays had no care in the world, as she was shift the chair she was pushing the chair so hard when it stopped it knocked. After the examination and was told what I needed the same young lady came in with the plan and cost. Now I’m sitting in the treatment room I have never been to a dentist where they expect you to pay while sitting in the treatment room. She had a copy of the treatment instead of her handing me the paper she tossed it on the desk. I was like wow and that’s when she handed it to me. I personally not going to give a person my credit card and allow them to walk away with it. Then the doctor came in to numb the are the person working with her was just trying to stick a tub in my mouth. The tub is to catch the saliva, there was no saliva in my mouth to catch. The energy was totally off. The doctor did the treatment but she did not explain anything after she was done and was condescending when I made the statement about what she did was fast. I sat there for a second and the person that was in the room cleaning up and blurted out, you can go. I asked her did she just say that. One more thing there is no privacy. The way the place is made multiple rooms, and it is open space. There was someone standing outside my treatment area the entire time of my appointment. Nine times out of time I will not be going back even though only one part of the service was still needs to be completed. Where has customer service gone! It is so disturbing when you pay your hard earn money and get treated the way I was treated on July 3rd 2025.

Negative experience: Today at 08:36 hrs. I called and said " good morning I would like to make an appointment for my annual cleaning" she asked my name, gave it to her then the line went dead. I instantly called back she answered the phone again. I said" did you just hang up on me.Again hung up . I called right back now I'm pissed no answer. The female needs to be fired and exposed! Today is Friday 06/27/2023. Administration you got the day and time...fire this person! Need an outdated!

Negative experience: My appointment time was June 10th at1:30, I was told, not asked to show up 15 minutes early, which I did, i was not seen by the Dr. Kim until shortly after 3:00. After seeing the Dr. I was told that a prescription would be sent to my pharmacist that day, it wasn't, I got a call June 11th saying it was being sent to the pharmacist that day,it wasn't. I was not very happy with my visit at all. It seems it's universal for Doctors these days not to have respect for patients time. This nation's health care has gone straight to hell. But as long as the business is making money that's all that seems to matter. SAD.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would’ve! We waited 40-45min for my daughter to be seen and she had an appointment. She had an X-ray instantly and the dentist came in said she needed a tooth pulled because HE wouldn’t be able to put a cap on it and she needed a cavity filled. He offered to clean her teeth and said he had 7 other patients waiting so I would need to schedule another appointment to do so. When I made the appt I told them she had pain in her tooth so that made no sense to me. I DO NOT recommend ANYONE go there. Seems as though they’re only interested in running your insurance to be paid and nothing more!!

Negative experience: The dentist here are not professional. I’ve been here multiple times and they don’t have proper equipment. When I mentioned something to dentist he stated this is all Dental Dreams can afford then accused my of having attitude. After accusing me of having attitude because I mentioned something they refuse me further service. If you go here you have to accept whatever treatment they offer.

I came in told them my kids were new clients they scheduled my appointment without running my insurance so when I came the day off the appointment I waited for an hour before they told me my insurance wasn't going through and my kids weren't going to be seen. Negative experience: So unprofessional over book you might as well just be a walk in! My foster daughter had more than 10 cavities when she came to and was trying to go where they took her insurance. Every time she had an appointment we waited more than an hour to be seen. The dentist told me to complain to the manager due to him being tired of being over booked. Came back to and waited to waiting dentist shooting with Novacaine and walked away, didn’t come back after waiting for over 30 minutes left, she still has cavities so came back to a schedule appointment for 1300 hrs still waiting and it 1437 hours. The worst place I ever been to. It’s sad when you only have an insurance that give you poor Performance. My baby next appointment is at 1600 hrs we will probably still be here!

Negative experience: NO STARS SHOULD BE OPTIONAL. I had a cavity that needed a #1 wisdom tooth extraction. First, my appointment was for 2pm. I scheduled it an entire week prior to going. I arrived for my appointment only to find out Dentist Joann Kavia had taken me off her list of patients. I had to explain to the receptionist that my appointment was scheduled a week ago, so she put me back on the list for that day. When I was finally called into the dentist chair at the back of the dentist office, I noticed many patients were being seen before me who had just walked through the door. Oral dentist Joann Kavia said to me “When ppl walk-in my clinic I put them last”. At first, I had no idea she was referring to me, as my appointment had been set ever since the previous week. It didnt dawn on me until she had me waiting in that dental chair for over an hour. She purposely tended to all the other patients that came in well-after I had already been there. It was 8:56pm when I left that dental office. Secondly, oral dentist Joann Kavia, continuously applied tremendous amounts of pressure to the root of my tooth and face. It caused me to have a splitting headache and dental staff members heard me hollering from the agony. The more I squirmed to get out of that dental chair, the more pain she applied to my mouth and face. In order for me to remove my body from her chair, I had to catch my breath and collect myself from the paralyzation of pain she deliberately applied. Oral dentist Joann Kavia totally disregarded my actions for her to STOP drilling and yanking at my wisdom tooth. She broke my tooth into countless pieces, then lied saying she only broke it into two. While my mouth was bleeding with half the wisdom tooth still in it, she had the audacity to demand that I come back in 3 days, all because she told me she was ready to go home. When I told her I can’t go home with that tooth unpulled and endure that pain for 3 more days, it felt like she deliberately tried to yank my brain from my mouth. Her own words, her body language, and her ‘I-don’t-care’ type of demeanor expressed to me that she no longer wanted to be on duty last night. She had began to constantly huff and puff with an attitude all in my face while my mouth was open and full of several metal dental objects that she used. A droplet of her sweat fell into my mouth. Oral dentist Joann Kavia never apologized for any of it. Instead, she said “Well, when people come with decayed or rotten teeth, what do you expect me to do.”. I had to go directly to the ER afterwards. The amount of pain I suffered is unforgivable. All because she wanted to go home. This isn’t even the half of it, but it’s the basics of what happened. This dental location has lost alot of my respect and I am legally pursuing this matter. As of March 21, 2025, I did return to Dental Dreams for a tooth cleaning. That day, I met a new teeth-cleaning dentist that also happened to be an oral surgeon. I informed her that the hole from the wisdom tooth extraction over a year ago never closed and still gives me pain problems. She visually examined my mouth and stated that she could see the wisdom tooth was still in it. Her assistant performed dental X-rays of my mouth. To all of our surprise, she extracted 2 chunks of the wisdom tooth from my mouth. She showed me the two chucks and took photos of them. The dentist then explained to me that those two chunks of wisdom tooth are the reason why I was still having pain after a year and why the hole in my mouth had never closed. I thanked her and her assistant numerous times and departed the dentist office.

Negative experience: Had an appointment at 10am and we were not seen until after 11am. Then we were told we could not get x-rays for 7 more days due to insurance reasons. This should have been communicated when the appointment was made. A simple, "Oh, you could come back in 7 days" is what we were told. I am a single mother and taking a day off is not that easy.

Negative experience: I been going here for years however my last few appointments i was told i will be getting a prescription sent to the pharmacy they never send them. I have to call the office everyday multiple times of day because im n pain. Saturday i called the clinic for i was on hold for a hour with someone who claim to be helping of course she never got back on the phone in they closed. Fantastic experience: I continue to return because I love our dentist Dr. Kapoor she patient, kind and very respectful. update 2/28/2025 I thought for sure I would be looking for a new dental office after Dr. Kapoor left the team, I recently went in for a cleaning and learned I needed a root canal, my 1st thought was let me find Dr. Kapoor, however I agreed to allow Dr. M to complete my deep cleaning. She was very kind, gentle and attentive to my concerns, anxiety and fear. I was informed that I needed a root canal which she preformed. I felt absolutely no pain, she talk me though this process and was again was kind, gently, attentive and professional. I believe I have found my new dentist. I highly recommend Dr. M. Because of her I'm able to look pass the front desk issues.

Positive experience: The actual dentist was excellent but the staff was very tacky. They're not kid friendly. The person that actually cleaned his teeth. He wasn't kid friendly. He was rushing. He was fussing. He was kind of being rude to a 4-year-old and when it was time to check out the two girls at the front desk were very rude. They didn't want to fill out the forms that I needed for his daycare and this was just not a good experience. I have been coming there for years. Have always had a great experiences except this time. Very disappointing

Fantastic experience: First of all… This is the best dentist in ILLINOIS I wasn’t even there 10 whole minutes and the beautiful Dentist assistant ladies had already examined my teeth and properly prepared me for the Dr… the Doctor fine Ginger self took a few looks and immediately recognized my issue and solved it on the spot. I been smiling extra hard ever since. The environment was soooo professional, I noticed how neat and clean everyone presented themselves in their uniform. I loved how patient everyone was and how quiet the place was. No yelling. It was an in and out like way quicker than going to an express clinic. I recommend Everybody and they mama lol to come here and get that work done asap.

Fantastic experience: I love my new dental home. The doctor and the staff is so friendly and professional. They make you feel comfortable. I started coming because two tenants in my building had beautiful work done here.

Fantastic experience: I really had a great experience, was seen.promptly, the front desk staff was very nice, the doctor was wonderful, friendly and very informative. It was very pleasant and clean inside. I've been to the one on Lincoln Highway and never got this top service. I will definitely be coming back! Dr Kim was wonderful!

Positive experience: It was such a pleasure being a patient of Dr J Kem! He was so gentle but got straight to the business, I didn't feel a thing. My only complaint is the long wait at Dental Dreams but other then that I’m a happy customer!

Fantastic experience: Dr.Kim is the bomb ,the BEST in Chicago to me. She give clear information/details before starting, she’s very gentle, let you know what she is doing every step and make sure you are comfortable during your procedure. I would most definitely recommend ! !

Negative experience: I made an appointment for 1 for myself and another at 2 for my daughter. We arrived at 12:45. It was 1:30 before I was even given the new patient forms and gave them my insurance. At 2 pm we decided to leave. If you value your time do not go here you will be waiting forever. The receptionists need to improve their system of checking in patients. While I sat there two other patients left because their appointment was over an hour behind.

Negative experience: The phones just rings and rings then someone answers and puts you on hold for a very long time. I've been trying to make an appointment for over an hour. First appointment I was disappointed and thought I would try again. Unbelievable the customer service at this place.

Negative experience: Dental Dreams? NO it was a dental nightmare. Stay away from this place. Very unprofessional and they don't know what they are doing. They kept rescheduling my appointment when I had a serious infection and I needed my tooth pulled. Then they gave me a root canal which ended up infected. I can't believe they are still in business.

Negative experience: We had a scheduled appointment today for 1:00 p.m. for a pediatric patient who has autism. I called ahead couple of days before to inquire how long the visit should take because we are using a transportation service and we need to schedule a ride to and from the dental office. I was told 45 minutes. I made a ride to get me there early between 15 and 20 minutes and an hour and 10 minutes for the appointment. We have been at the office for 45 to 50 minutes and had not been called, I approached the front desk to inquire as to how long it would be before we were called our appointment was at 1:00 p.m. and it was 1:30 p.m. at the time. By 1:47 p.m. Receptionist who had gone to the back had not returned to the desk to let me know how much longer wait would be, I approached another receptionist who was talking on the phone as well as texting on another. phone to inquire what was going on she told me the other receptionist was checking and would be back I ask how long because she had been gone for 17 minutes at the at that point. She didn't seem to know, I asked for a manager was told there was no manager available what about a supervisor no supervisor there I requested the name of the supervisor and was given a name that was barely audible. I requested that she write it down she wrote the name down and basically threw the card to me when I still could not get a response as to how much longer it would be I started to yell in the back hello hello hoping someone will respond to me so I would know exactly what we should do. Eventually the young lady came back with an attitude telling me they were cleaning the room for me and we would be allowed in the back shortly. When I have been standing there five to 10 minutes I again and how long before I could be put in the room and I was given a response that it wasn't her fault that they were running late at that point I asked her to reschedule appointment because there was no way we were going to be able to be seen prior to our schedule pickup time, I let her know I was upset about the whole experience since I called ahead to inquire how long appointment would take Eventually the receptionist had the nerve to get mad and tell me I was blocked from coming there I could no longer come there. After the terrible experience there I would never go back and I don't recommend it to anyone else they overbooked their appointments and then expect you to sit there and wait!

Negative experience: "I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessionalism and lack of consideration at Dental Dreams-Blue Island. My appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM, which they claimed was the latest time available. I left work early to make this appointment, costing me valuable time. When I called to let them know I was running late, I asked about their grace period but got no clear answer. I arrived at 2:50 PM, only to be told the doctor had already left. However, there were still patients in the lobby waiting for their checkups, which makes me believe their claim was untrue. To make matters worse, the office doesn’t even close until 6 PM! They made no effort to accommodate me or acknowledge the inconvenience I went through to make this appointment. This level of disregard for patients' time and needs is unacceptable. People work during the day, and this office clearly has no respect for that. I will not be returning and strongly discourage others from trusting this place with their time or care."

Negative experience: I’ve gone to Dental Dreams in Blue Island,IL for multiple years and only continued to utilize them because I was very comfortable with and trusted my dental provider but she left!! I would like to say the professionalism at that location is absolutely awful. They had 4 patients scheduled for a 9AM appointment with one dentist in the office. I was asked to fill out a form that looked to be the form that new patients completed and when I asked I was told it is completed annually but no one asked about payment. I waited approximately 1.5 hours got in the chair and mentioned that I had new insurance and I was told by the dentist that I had to go back to the front or would I like to use the insurance I had on file. I told them they could cancel the appointment and walked out. This location is the worse and I will not be going back so they get 1 star or I not be able to post and they need education on customer service.

Negative experience: Every time I go there just terrible experience. Went there October 29, 2024 had an appointment when the dentist did see me did X-rays told me I needed an extraction okay but I need to schedule an appointment I asked why when I’m there all ready she said because she had other patients I told her what I’m not important. She tried to kill time with me by having my blood pressure checked and just having me waiting I left then they called me I didn’t answer and I will never go there again. Just horrible place to me in which I’ve had other bad experiences with them. Good luck

Fantastic experience: Today was the very first time that I ever got my teeth pulled and they did an amazing job pain free and I was terrified but the dentist and dental assistant both kept me calm and we joked until the extraction was done

Negative experience: When I tell you Dr. Kim pissed me off. I’m am boiling inside. Now because I am a honest person I understand that maybe it was the fault of the person that scheduled the appointment. I also understand that people like to go home at a certain point in the day. I am highly frustrated because I took my son out of school early (he also missed practice), made arrangements for my daughter to be picked up and taken to dance, sat a hour in traffic, AND sat in the waiting area for an hour and 13 minutes. All for her to state she was not going to see my son as the appointment only stated follow up. When I tell you all I could do was walk out… because my frustration is that high. Ridiculous and very unprofessional. All of the inconveniences to my children for nothing.

Negative experience: Zero stars if possible. Don’t get dental work done here! Period. Maybe cleanings and x-rays but NO DENTAL WORK! I’m paying the price trying to save a few bucks. Not worth it. In severe pain and sent home with ibuprofen and a huge hole in my mouth after sitting in a chair for an hour screaming in pain while dentist attempted to extract a tooth that she broke into pieces. Clearly I wasn’t numbed enough and when I told her that, she said I exceeded the amount of numbing shots. They should have either knocked me out or at the very least gassed me. OR MAYBE EVEN STOPPED! Traumatic experience.

Negative experience: I had to go twice waited both times over an hour 1/2 and still wasn't seen. Had to reschedule again. They schedule to many people at the same time. Very unprofessional and give you a 15 min grace time if you are late.

Negative experience: The staff is very unprofessional, why make 9 am appointments and dont open the door til 9, the time on the door is wrong the front desk ppl need to be replaced assp, this is so ridiculous its sad …. And for the dentist here to except that they need to be gone as well… wont be back here

Negative experience: I was there 9-10 which was yesterday and it was probably like (30) other patients there waiting to be seen (2) of my kids needed to used the bathroom I was told bathrooms were outta order and I can go next door or across the street to Aldi anyways when I got next door the front desk clerk wouldn’t let my (4) year old daughter used the bathroom or my (6) year old son and this other lady and her daughter make a long story short my kids had to pissed outside and they should have just closed the building down without any working restrooms and all those patients its was a shame w

Negative experience: I went there for a tooth extraction and was told I have appt for a cleaning and was also told I have to come back for the removal. The dentist was highly unprofessional and wanted to clean my teeth even though I'm in serious pain Wasn't offered not prescription for pain. No apologies for the mix up. I made an appointment for 230 didn't see the dentist until 4pm. That was unprofessional as well. I hope my next visit be better then the last one

Negative experience: Get their waiting for someone to ask for my insurance card and I'd. Then I walked to the desk she said oh yes I need your insurance and your ID. Then she give me paperwork to complete. While completing the paperwork the young lady calls my name ,she said your insurance is out of network. I replied how is that possible if I have Blue Cross Blue Sheild Ppo high option dental insurance. I also mention to the young lady that my co-worker and I have the same insurance and she is a patient here.my co-worker is the one who recommended this dental office.the young lady said something it is like that. I hand her the clip board with the paperwork and took my ID and insurance card back and walk out.

Negative experience: This is the worst dentist office I’ve ever been to. It’s dirty and doesn’t have enough chairs for you to sit and wait for your appointment.. The amount of people that come and go, you would think it was a public aid office. I had an appointment at 12pm and they had me waiting nearly an hour and 30mins. I spoke with the red hair receptionist and she had a poor attitude and proceeded to tell me that I would be next. They continued to call people that came in after me. I then told them they can just cancel my appointment, the receptionist tells me they were waiting on insurance.. insurance doesn’t take an hour and 30 minutes.. I would never return!!!

Fantastic experience: I love this dentist office. The wait was a little long. I have three children and was ten minutes late so I know that’s why the wait was a little long. But when I got done with all the paperwork for three children 10mins later we was called. The orthodontist examined my children and explained everything very well. He was kind and fast. He made sure I understood everything. I love this place. They are great. Everyone was great. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Every time I have an appointment I never get seen at that time. I am here now for a 12pm appointment for my toddler and it is now 1:28pm I have yet to be called. This is absolutely ridiculous, my 4yr old is getting antsy and it’s freezing in this office. There is no point in setting appointments here because you will not be seen anywhere near that time. I am ready to walk out honestly.

Negative experience: Absolutely ridiculous. My son needed a root canal, and several cavities fixed. His 1st visit they soft cleaned his teeth took xrays and told me they only do root canals 1 per month! So I scheduled one. 2 weeks before that appointment, they left me a message canceling his root canal due to the doctor being on vacation! The day of said canceled appointment I get a call as a no show. Place is dirty, staff walks around with same gloves on in between patients. Wait times are Absolutely crazy. I'd give 0 stars.
