Fantastic experience: This was my first time and I was calling to get an appointment. They asked if I had any teeth bothering me. I indicated I did and she had me seen that day to do a quick assessment. I am on.my way to getting that tooth fixed plus now scheduled for a new.patient evaluation. The dentist and everyone there was terrific and so nice. It is such a pleasure to be treated this way as a new patient.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Zhao is a nice and honest dentist! He makes you feel comfortable and let's you know what options you have to help you determine what is practical or necessary. I love the appointment reminders they are helpful in addition to my own set calendar notices. Life gets busy and reminders are perfect.

Fantastic experience: My dentist retired a bit ago and my hygienist left shortly after. I decided to change dentists which is always a scary thing to do. I have been a patient with MFD for a year or so now and I have always been pleased with their care and their friendliness. The administrative staff as well as the hygienist and the two dentists I’ve seen have been nothing but wonderful! I do NOT like going to the dentist so I’m shocked to say that I have always had a pleasant experience and would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Negative experience: In October I called in to schedule an appointment for tooth pain. They told me their next available would have to be January. January?? Do you know how long that is to wait with tooth pain?? Then I show up to the apt, waited a half hour to be seen and ultimately was turned away without x-rays. I have metlife insurance but they still wanted to charge me $164. After all the chaos, don't even bother with this place! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! Thank you for nothing!

Fantastic experience: What an awesome experience. The office staff is very friendly and professional. They did a great job making my daughters feel comfortable.

Negative experience: So many things to add here. 1. My daughter received a root canal from Dr. Solberg that was done improperly and resulted in months of infection that didn’t respond to antibiotics and became so severe they required surgery to clear it out and correct his error. Dental infections are insanely dangerous and it took us months to find someone willing to touch the mess he created. I understand he no longer works there but it doesn’t matter. He was patronizing and a prick. 2. Dr. K got me in this week to evaluate damage from my chronic illness and compounding issues from a hospital visit that lead to cracks in my teeth which developed cavities and rot to the nerve. He joked about me getting a dental pick and I explained I have one but it’s in my house and we’ve been unable to live there for months due to a contractor company causing a mass contamination and making it unsafe to live there. I also added the plethora of medical issues this event has caused me including losses and he kept laughing in my face. Even when corrected by my family member that accompanied me since I hadn’t slept due to pain. He continued to laugh in my face. He thought someone losing a baby, multiple pets, losing 40% of their blood volume, and their home was funny. As far as what they did to “help” my teeth? X-RAYS, antibiotics and a referral to an endodontist as they apparently no longer do root canals here anymore. We were told on the phone they’d be able to help after an initial exam of the issue. They were my dental office of choice for over a decade but never again. It was deplorable behavior and my child and I will NEVER return nor recommend anyone goes there. Did I mention we had to pay out of pocket for this treatment each time? Used to be an amazing office. Will never return. Only gave 2 stars because the front desk employees and one tech that walked me in were very sweet.

Fantastic experience: I had a toothache really bad over the weekend. I called Monday to see if they could see me that day to pull it. They saw me that afternoon and pulled it for me. My current dentist couldn't see me til Tuesday and they would do an evaluation. Then they would have to refer me to an oral surgeon. Mechanicsburg Family Dentistry was a lifesaver! Everyone was extremely nice.

I would totally make this practice my primary dental office but they don't take my insurance but happy I went with them to get my Invisalign. I highly recommend this office. The dentists all seem very honest and kind.

Negative experience: Very disappointing not to take Medicaid. People are struggling and having to resort to dangerous self cleaning of teeth. I urge you to participate in Medicaid if you care about the poor.

I left feeling very pleased and confident in the care I received. I highly recommend Dr. Zhao for anyone needing dental work, especially if you're feeling apprehensive. Negative experience: I made an appointment for my daughter with a man named Christian. I wanted her to be seen before leaving across country for school this summer. I gave him all our insurance information during the initial call. Neither her nor I received a confirmation email, call or text prior to her appointment. During the appointment, my daughter called me to tell me they didn’t have her on their schedule. When she got in the exam room the dental assistant also said they didn’t have her on the schedule. I’m glad I wrote down Christian’s name when I made the appointment. The dental assistant also asked my daughter what our insurance covered! Wouldn’t they need to check eligibility? She got her teeth cleaned and was told to get a mouth guard because she grinds her teeth causing teeth recession. That’s the last time we’ll be visiting Mechanicsburg Family Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: Great experience as always. My hygienist Sandra was amazing and worked overtime to ensure my teeth were as clean and white as possible. My dentist offered to research if there is a way to whiten the edges of porcelain veneers rather than a complete replace. I felt I was in good hands for sure. Negative experience: My children and I have been going here for close to 10 years. Every appointment the dentist pushed us to go to an ENT to have my children's tonsils taken out. Turns out the issue with my son was NOT his tonsils but the fact that he was tongue tied. At my first visit to a new dentist the hygienist immediately saw the issue and the dentist confirmed it and set us up with a consultation to get it fixed. I'm sorry, but when a dentist pushes a parent to see an ENT for tonsils when it's clearly another issue, I have to wonder what sort of kick back they are getting from said ENT!

Positive experience: Had 2 small cavities had filled without pain shot went well...only concern is high cost for 30 minutes. Being a senior, retired, on fixed income even the 10 percent discount did not make much difference...maybe go up to 20 percent for seniors. After couple days seems the 1 cavity needs more filling added seems sensitive and feels like not enough so need to go back.

They were also willing to listen to my concerns and discuss solutions and potential costs, which is important to me as I pay out of pocket, even though I have dental insurance. Fantastic experience: After not listening to the pain in my tooth, I woke up one more to half of my molar missing. I was in pain and felt like it was infected. The dentist on call was so helpful. They couldn’t get me in that day but sent me to Patient First for antibiotics. The next day they cut me in to get my tooth extracted. The Dentist has a refreshing jovial but to the point demeanor. Very thankful for this Dentist and office. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Employees are so friendly and understanding. The dentist is hilarious and so easy going, that he makes you feel like you are hanging out with a friend. The facility is clean, full of extra toothbrushes and toothpaste and even has a kids room with a game station.

Fantastic experience: I have only had three appointments at MFD, but they have all been wonderful! I’m new to the area and they were recommended to me by a coworker. I had an appointment scheduled for the end of December for some fillings but asked to be put on a waitlist and they got me in three weeks early! Everyone is very friendly and cares about your well-being. Definitely recommend!!

Positive experience: For my first visit, it was pleasant. My children have been going here for 2 years and actually don’t mind dentist visits. If all continues to go well with myself, soon my entire family will be transferring to this office. Update 2022 My entire family now sees this office. Dr Carney has since retired, but Dr Solberg is still there and he is a great. We hope he continues the practice.

Fantastic experience: Today I had my teeth cleaned by Kayla . It was almost completely painless. She numbed my mouth, and I am one who is very sensitive. She was very friendly and professional. She also listened to my concerns. I am not crazy about going to the dentist, but know it is important to take care of your teeth. I am glad that I had a technician like Kayla. Also this dentist office is attractive and very clean, everyone I spoke to was friendly and nice. I recommend it highly.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank MFD enough. My tooth starting hurting the previous night and by the time I landed in Harrisburg it was extreme. I got a referrel from a person where I was working. The receptionist was awesome. She squeezed me in for a 5:30 appt that afternoon. The doctor and assistant were amazing. I wish they were in Alabama. Thanks again to the entire staff at MFD.
