Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good about Summit Dental and Orthodontics! First, I love that I have both my dentist and orthodontist in the same place. Especially having kids in braces. The staff is unreal and I could honestly stay there all day to just chat. My son literally makes me wait in the waiting room so I can’t talk for too long. You will not regret your choice of going to this place. Dr. Metcalf will walk yin through step by step of what he’s doing and he’s so friendly. I haven’t met anyone on either side that doesn’t go above and beyond for you. Also, their office manager, Kathryn is probably the best person you’re ever meet. And no, I didn’t know anyone at this place till I went there. They just deserve all the best recommendations. They’re that good! Go to Summit Dental! You won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: I visited today to have a filling on one of my two front teeth repaired. My previous filling was not quite the same shade as my natural teeth after whitening and didn’t sit flush with my other tooth, which had always bothered me. I shared my concerns with Dr. Veigel, and he listened attentively, explained the steps he would take to address them, and made sure I felt comfortable with the plan. The result was exactly what I had hoped for! He corrected everything I was unhappy with, and my tooth now looks completely natural. I’m truly thrilled with the outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Veigel he is kind, patient, and has an exceptional eye for detail.

Fantastic experience: Best dental experience i’ve ever had!! I got my cleaning done by Ashley S and Kili and they were both so kind and thorough. Unfortunately Dr. Veigel had to tell me i had my first ever cavity, but nonetheless, an amazing Doctor! He fit me right in after my cleaning and got my filling done same day! Kili also got me numb for my filling, first ever shot and she made it painless! Can’t forget Shar and Jamie providing me emotional support and holding my hands during the numbing hehe. Thanks so much for taking great care of me! Can’t recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: A far better experience here than where I was getting my treatment. It's like night and day, and I like the other place. I just really feel that the care I'm receiving is of a much higher quality and the modern tech makes a big difference. But most of all, I have been treated very well during all interactions with the staff, and the dentists.

All the employees are nice as well, but I've been going here for a year and they just don't get your teeth clean like other offices. Whenever I went into my old dentist office it may have been a bit more uncomfortable, but my teeth felt 5x cleaner. Seems great for people that are afraid of the dentist, but probably going back to my old dentist.

My son is very high anxiety and they are so good at calming him and making the dentist a pleasant experience with a fidget ball, movies, glasses and a blanket! Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Summit Dental for years, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough! I originally got my braces there, and I’ve continued going ever since because the ortho side is amazing—everyone is so kind, professional, and genuinely cares about their patients. The hygienists are always super friendly, and every visit feels comfortable and welcoming. Kili especially goes above and beyond—she always makes sure you’re taken care of and feel totally at ease. I always make sure to book my appointment with Kili because i enjoy my appointment but I know if I was scheduled to be cleaned by anyone else I would still be taken care of! From the front desk staff to the hygienists, the orthodontic team, and even the owners—everyone is just awesome. It’s so rare to find a dental office where the whole team is consistently warm, helpful, and professional. I’m really grateful to be a patient here!

Williams Just went to the Dentist’s once again, Andria was a great hygienist. I feel bad I didn’t catch the dentists name as he was also great. Every time I go they ask me which dentist I want and having gone there for the past 19 years, I just tell them it doesn’t matter. They have all been great!! Another trip and still think Summit Dental is great! I really enjoyed the entire staff and was surprised when Dr Erickson found a small surface cavity and fit me in the schedule to just take care of it along with semi annual cleaning and checkup. What great service and care!

Negative experience: This place does not stand behind their work! They put a crown on that broke. Insurance would pay for 100% of replacement if the crown would have lasted longer. Since it didn't, we are on the hook for $1200!!!! They refuse to even meet us in the middle. What a shame that they do not stand by their work. Waited in the Waiting room for 1.5 hours just to be told there was, "nothing they can do." My advise is to somewhere else that has some compassion and integrity.

Fantastic experience: We won’t go anywhere else for cleanings and general dental work! Our hygienist and dentist ALWAYS take extra special care of my kids. The dentist can be scary when you are little and my kids are worry free when we come to our visits! My 9 year old needed 4 teeth pulled, and it was so easy for her because of the excellent care we received! Zero tears!!!! Not even during the numbing process!!! Summits dental team made her feel so comfortable and safe! Then they reached out to check on her later that that evening! We will continue to come back to summit for all of our general dental needs!!!

Fantastic experience: Always kind, clear, and understanding. They repaired extensive done by a previous dentist, with clearly laid out cost estimates. I haven’t been this pain free in YEARS and always enjoy seeing them.

Positive experience: My last dental cleaning appointment in October 2023, caused me to search for a new dental office because I was scheduled for a cleaning and waited 2 hours for the dentist and hygienist to come by. I ended up leaving before my cleaning due to time. In April 2025, I decided to go back and scheduled two appointments, they went well. I visited for a dental cleaning and a new retainer. On the dental side they were very nice, the assistant who brushed and flossed my teeth was very gentle. The hygienist was a little more rough when it came to the cleaning, but did a good job. I like to see Dr Veigel, he is very knowledgeable and polite. He is judge free and accommodating with any dental fears a lot of people have. On the orthodontics side, I was scheduled for an appointment after my cleaning. When I arrived, I spoke with Katie about different options for my retainer. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of my questions. She also made sure I was comfortable during the appointment. I was helped by another assistant to get molds taken. She was also very nice and I liked that she was humorous as well during my appointment. The one thing I did not like is that I had to pay for my appointment and retainer before they billed my insurance. It was very expensive.

Fantastic experience: Summit has been fantastic supporting our entire family. From root canals to braces, we trust them to help. Our son is a few months into his braces experience and the team has been nothing but supportive and helpful. Even are able to squeeze us in when he needs quick repairs. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I been going to Summit Dental at this location for a few years. During this time has always been great and people has been always helpful. In my last appointment, I went to get my regular cleaning. Unfortunately, last time I had schedule my appointment, I had to cancel it and reschedule for another day due to personal reasons. When I showed up for my reschedule appointment, they charge me 50 dollars for not showing up in my last app, even though I called and got reschedule and they didn't mention I was getting charge. I asked them to remove it, but they didn't want to remove the charge. I paid them and I got my regular cleaning. Unfortunately I will be changing Dentists due something really easy to do and weren't able to it for me, even though I never had any issues with them. I will miss them, but customer service it's first.

Negative experience: Dental services are good, no complaints there. Started going around 2021 as my partner worked there, she had good things to say and I found that to be generally true. Summit service wise was good for me and my 3 children. Here's the reason for my 1 star, Zero if I could. As stated my partner works at summit. At the time I received a family/friend courtesy because of that. From 2021-2025 I received this. Now somewhere internally the company decided to revoke this discount, which is fine. But, I'm willing to bet it was only removed for me from some back handed retaliation. But this is only an assumption. Problem being, they went back and charged me for all the discounts I received. Effectively changing my agreed upon pricing. My insurance was slow to pay, so I paid my balance and my insurance balance to be a good patient and have a zero balance. After fixing my issues with my insurance they eventually paid giving me a credit. Shortly after receiving this credit Summit decides to alter my cost of services, reapprppiate my insurance payments and personal payments, and label the remainder as adjustments so I went from having a substantial credit to now owing 80. I notified them, I gave them a week. Nobody can make decisions evidently because summit does not delegate responsibility when people vacation, crazy right ? Then I finally asked for more time, okay. But I'm frustrated. This is theft of insurance funds, insurance fraud, theft of my money, them adjusting books, laundering insurance funds and billing me for more on top. Honestly the more I uncover it's insanity. I'm willing to put money I'm not the only person they do this to, if they do this to someone that personally knows many employees, imagine what they will do to people that don't. After firmly expressing concern summit doubles down and sends me a statement and bill for 80 something, cementing in their choices. I will have to involve division of consumer protection, department of professional licensing, and I'm having my personal lawyer review my billing to take this to small claims. Summit would rather pay thousands in litigation than pay me my credit as my law firm assures me I'm very much in the right. And their actions are not only wrong on a civil matter but potentially criminal. But I will not pay and I will not allow them to hurt my credit. I have paid loyally for years and this was my reward. And they are very firmly sticking ground. Never in my life have I ever seen a company risk so much over a few hundred credit. I also can back every single claim made here if anyone wants validity to my statements.

After some bad experiences at a previous office by making my teeth worse, my insurance told me to go here and I could not be happier!! Even though they didn’t give me great news at my appointment, they were all very knowledgeable and emphatic about what’s going on with my oral health. Dr Veigel was open and honest about what he saw on my X-rays and gave me all the options to start making my teeth healthy again! I didn’t feel pressured to do anything I didn’t want to do. Will definitely be making this my forever office!!

Negative experience: Looks like I will be the odd man out on here. I’m going back to 2022 I got a new job which means new insurance. My husband called the office on Gentile to make sure our insurance was In network. They told us it was. So my husband called and made us an appointment for cleanings (which under our insurance should have been covered) turned out the gentile office was not in network. Fast forward to March 2025 and multiple phone calls and emails to them that were never responded too. I attempted to call and email Sarah again (the one person that helped me through the years ). When she finally responded to my email it stated “sorry we are playing phone tag” but you have til March 7th to pay this bill of 1909.30 ( for two FREE cleanings) or you will be sent to collections! After many calls to the dentist office and my insurance. I was told all the dentist office needed to do was call provider relations and get the gentile address and tax id added for my insurance to be in network and they would pay them in full. When I told Sarah this she completely ignored my request and instead threatened me with collections. So instead of helping her patient/customer she threatened me with collections. So i paid the bill and still have yet to hear if they will ever make this right for future customers or if they rip off all customers this way! DEAR NEW COMERS WATCH YOU BACK OR YOU WILL GO IN DEBT PAYING A BILL THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED WITH A ZERO BALANCE. I gave one star cause I had to put something in to leave a review. But this office gets. 0/5 stars for me!

They got me in right away, did a fantastic job at my filling that was near painless, and all the support staff was just lovely on both of my visits. Fantastic experience: Everyone at the office is very, very good. Assistants, secretaries, doctor and nurses fun and funny/kind. Procedure went well. I feel this office is great and cares! Past experiences: I have only had three dental procedures total in my 46 year old life, and am very, very, very afraid of needles. 1st procedure, two wisdom teeth pulled, I only had bottom, around age 17 I believe. I was put asleep, so no problem. 1st cavity early to mid 30s. I felt like I was going to faint after numbing, ears ringing so bad and lightheaded. Nurses and doctor walked out of room when I really, really needed water and comfort. Same thing happens at doctors, but got help at doctors when I almost fainted. Later, forced same dentist do a crown with no numbing because of my fear, after a boating accident. I did it though. But avoided same dentist due to fear and life struggles. I called summit dental at the same time but was still scared to return to the dentist and canceled three years ago. Went back with the help of a new girlfriend, and with proper care and a little sedation for my terrible anxiety, went very very well. I Felt listened to at Summit Dental, even with my attitude at times. Now back to work and causing problems in big V8 cars.

Negative experience: This place is trash! They give you the price of services and then they try to send you a surprise bill later for more. I am reporting them to consumer protection and not worried about the bill I am not going to pay. I just think it is important people are aware of this dishonest practice.

Fantastic experience: So my review is a long one because I feel like I have to tell my whole story. My parents had 9 kids. Well 3 out of the 9 including me were missing the 2 teeth next the the front teeth. My baby teeth that I did have there fell out when I was 7. From 13-14 I had braces, then my mom didn't have the money for implants, so I got a flipper retainer, and I'm glad I waited. When I got my braces off I cried because I hated my teeth, I got the retainer and cried because I hated it. At 21-22 I gave up on the fake tooth retainer, and my mouth because I never thought I'd have the smile I wanted anyways. Fast forward to 23. My wisdom teeth started coming in, and I needed a dentist. I Googled the closest one near me, and thank goodness it was Summit. They asked me why I had given, up I told them money. Well my year and half journey began from there. They told me all the amazing options there are now a days to pay for anything you could want, or need done. I set up a payment plan for braces, and then got approved for a Care Credit card for the bone grafting, implants, and crowns. It was the best decision I ever made to give my smile another go. The day I got my teeth put in, and my braces off I bawled, only this time from overwhelming joy. I couldn't believe the transformation. Not only did I have a beautiful smile, but it had been over 10 years since I enjoyed eating, because chewing was so inconvenient, and often hurt. The Doctors, and Staff there are absolutely amazing. Every visit felt so personal, and like they all really wanted to see me with a beautiful smile. My confidence level want from a 5 to a 10. I've never been shy, but now when I talk to people never do I think I hope they're not looking at my teeth, I think if they ask about my teeth I'll tell them Summit Dental. So if you're like me, and you've given up on your smile, I'm telling you Summit Dental is the place to go.

Positive experience: The customer service is really good, and the technicians are super friendly and understanding. However, the dentist I had may have misunderstood the sensative gums issue as I have never felt so much pain from a simple predontal test. I literally teared up and was clenching my fists it hurt so bad. Other than that it was good, they double check everything.

Positive experience: Dentists and Hygienists are great, office staff needs some work. I never get called back on billing questions and it would be good to get phone calls rather than texts to remind you of appointments made 6 months prior. If reminder texts are sent they need to be sent out two days prior to the appointment especially with the 48 hours cancellation policy not the day before just in case there is an emergency. Even though I called to cancel and left a message I was not called back to confirm the cancellation and was charged a fee.

Fantastic experience: I love going to Summit Dental! They always remind you about your appt about a week ahead of schedule. They text you links to any paperwork you might need to fill out before the appt. They have very friendly staff from top to bottom! I always tell people about my experience with them!

Fantastic experience: The best!! Super friendly and sooo nice. It was my first time and I felt so welcome they took super care of me and was able to take me in the same day.

Fantastic experience: We had such a positive experience with my little guy getting his first set of braces! We could not believe how friendly and personable the staff was with us. They were darling, and had so many great incentives and visual aids and rewards for his little journey! It’s a beautiful cozy office with drinks snacks and even a hygiene counter for when we come straight from school! Not to mention the orthodontist who has been very attentive and Involved, and just explained things so well. We were so so very pleased With our experience, and plan to do ALL of our dental work here moving forward!

Fantastic experience: The assistants at Summit dental were so great with my child. They helped them feel comfortable and relaxed. The service is great and Dr. Metcalf is so good with kids.

Fantastic experience: The staff did their best to make me comfortable during the 3 hour procedure. By evening the numbness had warn off and other than a mildly sore jaw I was chewing like normal. The two crowns fit my bite perfectly. A day later I felt like the procedure had never happened.

Fantastic experience: I had a molar that needed to be removed for quite some time. I had never been to Summit Dental before, and needed the tooth removed asap due to excessive pain that would not subside. I made an appointment for the same day for emergency removal, and the tooth was removed by the end of the business day. Thank you, Summit Dental!!

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr. Hadley for almost 20 years. He is a caring, knowledgeable and highly skilled dentist. My visit was great, his staff is well-trained and courteous, and as much as no one likes going to the dentist, it is almost pleasant at Summit.

Fantastic experience: Had one of my very best patient experiences at East Layton Summit Dental. The entire staff is so wonderful and very friendly, especially Jess and Dr. Rachelle Neil! They were so friendly, very professional, very knowledgeable and very warm and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable right away and they worked so hard to make sure that I had a wonderful experience. I only have such great things to say about this practice and the job they do and I highly recommend them. I'm so grateful that I found them.

Positive experience: Staff is friendly, place is new and clean, great place for the family, I’m happy with the services I received, cleanings and ortho for my daughter. Unfortunately we decided to switch to another place due to billing department issues. They are working on getting that fix with the insurance which I appreciate, but the process was stressful and the fact that it took a few years to get this corrected It was disappointed.

Negative experience: I had a few visits with Summit Dental and I am deeply troubled at the billing departments lack of adherence to the ADA code of ethics, the Golden Rule of medical billing or any other rules or guidelines I have come across that may pertain to a patient rights to truthful communication and transparency. My daughter and I had one routine cleaning each, both were supposed to be covered at 100%. I went to the appointment fully anticipating 100% coverage, for both of our visits. However, Summit opted to use an Xray with higher frequency limitations but they did not feel they had to inform me of this. I attempted to clarify that I was not asking them to inform me of the frequency limitations in my policy, but the equipment used in Summit Dentals facility. I asked how a patient, without any dental training, would know which Xray Summit requires for the visit. They responded that while they do not expect their patients to know the names of the Xrays, they are “always happy to share that information…if our patients ask”. They would also not clarify, so I can only assume that the same would hold true then for any other dental equipment they might use. A patient’s insurance policy will not inform the patient which equipment is selected for each procedure and Summit Dental will not properly inform or educate the patient, unless the patient asks. They did not take a minute to say something along the lines of “the Xray required for todays visit may have increased frequency limitations. Would you like to review your policy before proceeding?” They don’t even have to offer to check for the patient, just give a friendly FYI, especially if the patient has no reason to suspect there will be any charges for a visit anticipated to be covered at 100%. The most serious issue, however, is regarding a crown replacement. The claim form submitted by Summit Dental was incomplete, causing it to be rejected by my insurance. Even though Summit Dental is aware that all insurance companies have different requirements and different frequency limitations, they failed to provide complete and accurate information in order for my insurance to calculate coverage based on my individual plan. I was told by Summit that insurance did not ask for the date, Summit did not have the date, so they left it blank. I do not know which claim form they used but the ADA dental claim form states all fields must be completed and the full claim form lists the instructions for this specific date field. I was also told by my insurance that this specific date field is required for a replacement crown. When the claim was partially rejected by my insurance, Summit did not contact me to explain, they just sent me the bill. During Summits attempt at defending their actions after the fact, I was told since they did not have the date they left it blank “due to it being a guess or estimate” and because they want the insurance to make decisions based on “facts not guesses”. Again, as Summit Dental has stressed that all insurances are different, Summit Dental still opted to take a chance at guessing whether or not the date field needed to be completed. There is also a concern that filing an incomplete claim could have caused extreme undue financial hardship as it may have affected my out of pocket expense for the estimate. And a patient receiving a bill 8 months after a procedure, may pay out of pocket an amount that should have been fully covered by insurance, for fear of getting sent to collections. I feel very strongly that the actions of the Summit Dental billing department are unethical, suspicious and potentially fraudulent. Based on my experience, I do not trust Summit Dental to initiate any communication or have any transparency regarding billing methods that would allow a patient to make an informed decision regarding their health care. As they do not seem to have an obligation to inform or educate their patients, I do not recommend Summit Dental.

Fantastic experience: I am beyond impressed with my experience with Layton East Summit Dental. When I walked in, I immediately felt welcomed and genuinely cared for. Bella, Taylor, and Dr. Jolly provided a top notch experience. Not only did I receive an educationally rich experience, I actually had fun. Who gets to say that about their dentist office?!

Fantastic experience: Always a pleasure and no fear going in for my three month periodontal checkup! I’ve been going to this dental office since it started across the street. The atmosphere is calming and inviting and the staff are helpful and friendly. I see Dr. Hadley on a regular basis and he is one of the best dentists I have had. I recommend Summit Dental & Orthodontics highly for anyone looking for a great place for oral hygiene and help.

They explained the procedure very thoroughly and they knew very well what they were doing. They explained the two kinds of procedures very well and professionally and made sure I understood them. Fantastic experience: Summit East on Gentile was about as pleasant as a dental appointment could be. Jess was a joy to chat with as she performed my cleaning followed up by an unscheduled cap on a cracked tooth/filling by Dr Jolley. Dr J’s (and assistant Clair’s) dental-chair-side” manor made dentistry fun! (Not really but as good as it gets!) ;-)) VTY GK
