Fantastic experience: Office is clean, and wait time was perfectly reasonable. Staff were helpful, professional and personable, as we're Dr. Winterman's assistant and Dr. Winterman, himself. Doctor got down to business, no fuss, we discussed the issue, treatment ensued quickly, without drama or oversell. Can't say fairer than that. In sum, great work was done by one and all. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Really great experience here. My dentist was good but the dental assistant during my wisdom teeth removal was phenomenal. I was freaking out and I wouldn’t have been able to calm down without her. I wish I remembered her name but she was amazing!!

The lady who did the X-rays and examine, I believe her name was Brittney, was 'efficiently excellent' and then Dr Winterman came in with the assessment and a game plan, with costs broken down as what the insurance would cover and my out-of-pocket expenses. I was very satisfied with the visit!

Negative experience: Make sure you watch these guys with both eyes and a set of magnifying glasses. They set up an appointment for us with a doctor that wasn’t credentialed under the insurance and a year later sprung the bill on us for $671 out of nowhere. I called multiple tunes that the clerk would be paid. Guess what ??? The woman just looked me in my face and told me the bill was my problem wow

Fantastic experience: The best dentistry office I have been to since moving to flordia.

Negative experience: They called me on 7/21/25 to confirm my appointment for 7/23/25 @ 2:00 pm. I showed up and was asked are you a new patient I responded no and was told I have no appointment, I then left and went to gainesville dentistry and they had no record of an appointment for me which I had never been to them but thought maybe something changed. I then checked my call log and it was Gainesville Family Dentistry that called me, I call them and was told we tried to verify your appointment and no response. I informed her that I have it on my phone where I was called and spoke with someone and verified my appointment, was then told no you never responded. So I drove back and ask for a manager and was told no one was there and once again was told no one called. I physically showed her the call log and her reply was I don't know who called you, can you come back on Friday. I just drove from Lake Butler, I won't be returning and suggest trying out GAINESVILLE DENSITY GROUP, lady was extremely helpful and even offered to call Gainesville Family Dentistry for me.

Positive experience: Original review: I highly recommend Gainesville Family Dentistry! I have had Chance as my hygienist four times now (been with them 2 years) and he is fabulous - friendly, thorough, and gentle. I have zero complaints! Updated review (5/2023): I have been with Gainesville Family Dentistry for six years and received a phone call yesterday that my appointment scheduled for June 12, 2023 needed to be rescheduled for Feb '24. I clarified that they were saying I would not have an appointment for the entire year of 2023 even though I've had that appointment set since December 2022 (my last appt) and they said yes. I am very disappointed in the lack of care and concern. Updated review (7/2025): I stuck it out with them even after the terrible scheduling situation. My hygienist Chance is back and I really like him. Their practice is clean and other than the major scheduling issue, I do recommend them.

Positive experience: I have been going to Gainesville family dentistry for years. I really like them. The staff is very friendly. However, they do book out really far (over 6 months) so it can be difficult to get an appointment. This week when I went, they apparently got a new water sterilization tablet for their equipment and it made the water have a horrible rustic taste. I had a metallic taste in my mouth for a few days after. The hygienist was aware and said they have had multiple complaints, so hopefully this is something they will change sooner rather than later.

Dental assistant was very friendly, In making me feel relaxed, knowledgeable of all needed procedures, and the use of needed machinery. 3. Negative experience: Very disappointed with them. Got to your office on time yet my dental hygienist was late. Once she finally came to get me, I had to wait due to X-rays. Then she told me that I needed to do a 360 scan so as she was heading in that direction, she decided to stop and talk to another employee for about 3 to 5 mins taking about her new home. I don't care if you talk to your coworkers, just do it when you're done with your patient. I took time off work to get this done and to have someone blatantly not care about my time is ridiculous. I've been going to you guys for over 20 plus years and the service has gone down hill. We didn't speak and when I was done she with an attitude gave me my toothbrush, floss and toothpaste. Didn't walk me out like she did with the previous patient. It is sad that this company has gone down.

Fantastic experience: My first three visits have been very satisfactory. My initial exam & cleaning was done promptly and professionally. My subsequent visits for a crown prep then installation went off without a hitch. The staff handled my insurance claims expeditiously and I was very impressed with all of the hygienists, assistants and Dr. Winterman.

Negative experience: The hygienist kept insisting that the dentist worked on a different tooth the last time I was there. Then they charged me $69 to look at it again. She finally admitted that I was correct about which tooth had been worked on and offered to charge me another $200 to work on it again. No thanks!

Fantastic experience: I'm a 57 year old male that's had nothing but the worst experiences in dentrisrltry my whole life. Starting with pediatric care to emergency services as an adult. I am fortunate to have most of my natural teeth, but they've been savaged over the years by over zealous offices wanting my money and not my love, respect and trust. Fantastic experience: This is the third dentist office I have tried in Gainesville and thankfully the search stops here! You can have your new patient appointment, X-rays, and cleaning within the same visit which was a nice change from the other offices that make you come back for the cleaning. Everyone I came into contact with in the office was so incredibly nice! Ashley did a great job with my cleaning, even being gentle in places I told her were sensitive! Dr. Habib sat down with me and addressed all of my questions with detailed answers. I will happily return to the office for all future dental visits!

Fantastic experience: I highly and I mean Highly Recommend Gainesville Family Dentistry. You could not ask for a better place between the front office and the back office, incredible. This is why they are now going to be a part of my Family. I was in Desperate need on Monday night. Tuesday morning I called everyone to try and get in everyone was booked till May and the receptionist at GFD responded after telling me the same thing as the rest Let me see what I can do to help you. I first thought she would not call me back. So I called Aspen I had pain and swelling in my jaw which was very noticeable and went to Aspen and in return Who did Absolutely nothing to help me. Wednesday landed me in the ER with Cellulitis to my ear to the bottom of my chin, by that point I could scream from the pain. Wednesday morning I did receive that phone call that I thought I would not get GFD had me an appointment Thursday morning and I was treated promptly and respectfully. I was very scared and in a lot of pain. The Dentist and his support staff was amazing and I can not thank them enough. They will definitely be on my Christmas list.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Winterman has a gentle touch. Luckily I had no cavities. I had a very good cleaning from the hygienist. The office is comfortable and the folks at the front are very nice too. I like the location very much.

Negative experience: If you decide to go with this densitry please make double sure they accept your insurance. I specifically asked if they accepted my type of insurance to which they said yes and recieved a quick appointment date. Later was called and told they over booked the day and the appointment would now be a month out. I was still okay with that. Then the day before my appointment, almost two months later from the original date I was told that in fact they do NOT accept my insurance. What a waste of time. And when I told the employee I spoke to about this she didn’t care at all. Very disappointing when I could have went somewhere else a month ago.

Negative experience: I had the absolute misfortune of being at this office, and I can confidently say it was one of the most excruciating, incompetent, and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever endured. A competent dentist listens to their patient and adjusts accordingly. That did not happen here. If you enjoy being ignored while enduring medieval-level agony, by all means, book an appointment. If you actually care about your health and sanity, go somewhere—anywhere—else. Zero stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: They managed to fit me in quickly for an energency repair of a split tooth. Everone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Dr. Winterman took time to explain things clearly to me with more insight given than any previous dentist. Clean facilities with up to date equipment and methods. Very pleased.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to praise gainesville family dentistry, over an 8 month span of canceling and rescheduling I was finally able to rid my teeth I needed to rid. They have been so patient and worked with me so well and they got me in right away when I finally had payment. Very respectful, kind and gracious ladies. I'm also a wuss with mouth pain and the nurse who assisted the doc kept me so calm and was very encouraging through the whole process. I highly recommend this dentistry.

Negative experience: Would only look at one tooth whilst I had two teeth that had major problems. If you don't have time to thoroughly examine your patients, STOP overbooking. We get it. You want to rake as much insurance money out of people as possible. The 5 stars here probably go to the office staff, they were not bad. But the policies in place at this practice are an absolute joke. I'll be finding a new dentist and recommending everyone else do the same.

Fantastic experience: It had been a very long time since I went to the dentist. I was extremely anxious going in. My dental hygienist, Brittney, was very kind and patient with me. She explained everything to me without lecturing me or making me feel bad for it being so long since I came in. Dr. Habib was the same way. Very informative without making me feel shame for my current dental health. He explained everything and didn’t rush out to see his next patient. I am very appreciative of Brittney and Dr. Habib in my journey towards better dental health.

Negative experience: A one-star review is too generous for this excuse of a dentistry office. I never leave bad reviews, but the way my family has been treated here is absolutely appalling. Two weeks ago, my sister had her wisdom teeth removed at this office, and since then, she has experienced nothing but excruciating pain. Concerned that her healing process was taking abnormally long, she returned today for a check-up to make sure everything was okay. What happened next was beyond unacceptable. During her appointment, the dentist roughly shoved gauze into the incision points in her mouth—so forcefully that she started crying. Despite her obvious discomfort, he did not stop. Through tears, she managed to ask if the amount of pain she was experiencing two weeks post-procedure was normal. His response? A dismissive “Yes,” before he simply walked away. This dentist has zero bedside manner, zero compassion, and zero professionalism. His behavior is completely INEXCUSABLE. I am begging you—if you or someone in your family needs dental care, DO NOT go to Gainesville Family Dentistry. You deserve far better treatment than what my sister endured

Negative experience: I would give zero stars if possible. I had three wisdom teeth removed 2 weeks ago and I still am in pain. I scheduled a follow up appointment for myself so I could make sure that everything was healing properly. In my initial visit, I was told after 3-4 days I would be back to normal. I understand everyone heals differently, but two weeks is a long time so I was concerned. In my follow up visit, Dr. Billingsly rushed in and quickly proceeded to shove a medicated gauze into the socket. The pain was so excruciating I began to cry and get he continued cramming it in there. It felt as if the socket was ripping open and he mentioned he could barely fit the gauze in, yet proceeded to cram it in there. I continued to cry from pain and once he was done he just up and left. I managed to ask one question as he was leaving, “is this much pain after two weeks normal?” To which he just said “yes” and walked away. Zero bedside manner. I was left in tears with the dental hygienist. I cannot remember her name but she was nice and took the time to speak with me and answer my questions. I will never be returning to this practice. If you want to be left in pain for weeks after a procedure and have your concerns brushed off, highly recommend booking an appointment with Gainesville Family Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: First of all, Crystal was extremely nice and caring over the phone. She showed true empathy unlike other area dentist offices. Finally, I saw the dentist and he explained everything to me re: my urgent infection. I sincerely appreciate this practice and getting my smile back:)
