Fantastic experience: They really are the friendliest and most genuine people! They’ve made getting braces less painful by easing my son’s nerves by explaining everything and being responsive. Scheduling is super easy. And the dog therapy is the icing on the cake! Highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: As a mother I am greatful for the ladies NaKayla, Shakira, and of course Tashayda for the communication they provide my girls while working on them. The fact they talk them through the process and keeping them calm and happy makes it special. I didnt like the dentist as a child and to hear my kids alway speak positive of their visit is the best thing a mother could ask for.

Fantastic experience: My son has been seeing Dr. Sam Burrow for about a year or so now, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience and results so far. From the very first visit, the staff made him feel comfortable and at ease, which really helped take away any nervousness he had. Dr. Burrow is incredibly patient and always takes the time to explain each step of the process—not just to me, but directly to my son, which really makes him feel involved in his own care. The office is friendly, welcoming, and always runs on time, which I truly appreciate. I already noticed such a positive change in his smile and confidence, and I know the final results will be amazing. It’s been a wonderful year of progress, and I’m so grateful to have such a skilled, caring orthodontist guiding him through this journey. Fantastic experience: I recently went with three of my children to get braces. We were referred here by our dentist and let me tell you, that was the best choice we could have made. Every person at this facility from the receptionists to the assistants to the orthodontists are welcoming, kind, and wonderful. They have amazing payment options and are willing to take the time to work with you so that your needs don’t go unmet. Keep up the great work!!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been to 2 of there locations... the Randolph location has 2 sides, and all are clean and well maintained. The staff is super friendly and understanding. The doctors are amazing. I had left my doctor's appointment (labs) so I didn't miss my appointment with them (they get so booked up so fast). It was funny bc they are across from one another, when I had told the girl what I did, we both laughed but she told the doctor and she came around that wall so fast and took care of me. We were all laughing they said they never had that happen before. I say this to say they are very friendly and family oriented, my son is also a patient and they do schedule us together when they can.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed just over 2 years of braces at Burrow, Welchel & Culp Orthodontics and it was a 5 star experience all around! During this time I saw several different orthodontics assistants, and every one of them was so kind, professional, and great at making the adjustments requested by the doctor. I opted for clear braces on top, and I always received comments that people didn't realize I had braces. Appointments were easy to make, as well as change if needed. I primarily saw Dr. Welchel, based on my location, but the few times I saw other partners they were great as well. I'll take my kids to see Dr. Welchel when it's time for their Ortho evaluation, because I trusted her with my own treatment plan. I'm always recommending and sharing my experience at Burrow, Welchel & Culp with other parents when they say they are exploring orthodontics (for themselves or their kids)!

Negative experience: Daughter went through the braces process, which the actual braces part went fine, but when it came to the after care, they dropped the ball big time. After she got her braces off, they did not talk us through our retainer options, but just gave us a set of retainers, not telling us that we would need to replace them yearly due to the nature of the retainers. I called to request information two weeks ago, never heard back. Did research myself and discovered other options that we would’ve chosen instead, called them back to see if they could help with said option and gave them another week to get back with me, and still have not heard back from them. Would not recommend this orthodontist at all, unless you are well-versed in your options.

Negative experience: I started clear aligners and I originally thought I was getting Invisalign. I got 3m and they were hurting, After having a hard time getting in touch with the office I spoke to office manager Gracy she was nice but she told me they don’t do Invisalign and I could come get my trays trimmed down. I went back to the office and turns out they do advertise on the door and use “Invisalign brand” hopefully when I return for the second half of my treatment they will switch to the brand I thought I was receiving because the 3m aligners are uncomfortable for me and have some rough edges.

I had two undersized teeth that needed a little extra help, and she referred me to a phenomenal dentist for veneers. They did an absolutely flawless job, and together, their work was nothing short of perfection. It was such a collaborative and thoughtful approach—I felt like I had a dream team working on my smile. Dr. Britney is more than just an orthodontist—she’s a true artist with an incredible eye and a heart of gold. I genuinely loved working with her, and I can’t recommend her enough!

Negative experience: Unprofessional, poor service, rude staff. Told me they could perform a procedure over the phone. Toon a day off from work. I get there and their business has no power and asks me to wait for 30 minutes. I do so, then they tell me they cannot perform the procedure. I wouldn’t recommend you come here, they treat you horribly and are too good for your money and time.

Fantastic experience: I came in at 12pm for a consultation and at 1pm I was walking out with a new set of braces! Consultation, X-rays, payment, and braces, and next appointment done in a hour! Alexis and Jack were so welcoming and nice. Alexis broke everything down for me as far as plans and payments. I would recommend this place to everybody looking for dental care.

Fantastic experience: Just got my braces on at Burrow, Welchel & Culp and I couldn’t be more grateful. Dr. Seebold did a great job and both he and Dr. Burrow were super reassuring and supportive throughout the whole process. Ashley and Christina were friendly and made everything feel easy, and Stephanie and Monty at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. The young lady who took my pictures and plaques was beyond professional, kind, and reassuring. Everyone was kind, thorough, and made what could have been a stressful day feel simple and smooth. I left feeling emotional in the best way, just so happy to finally be on this journey. Huge thanks to the whole team!

Negative experience: 2 years out of braces and I’m still upset about my experience. I went in for a consultation and was hard sold on a treatment/payment plan. They told me it would be another month before I could get them put on or they could do it right now! So, I left the office with new braces! The treatment/payment plan was for 20-24 months. My actual time in braces lasted 30 months and they weren’t getting paid anymore those last 6 months and that’s where the bulk of the issues started. My concerns were, “in my head”, “would correct themselves” or “needed to be corrected by other people”. I was not happy with how things were going and they kept saying to wait. When the braces came off, I was upset they didn’t look like I wanted… and I had now expectations. Again, they offended no assistance and said other doctors may be able to help. Fast forward 2 years. One of the teeth they pulled in has died and needs surgery to correct, and my new dentist/Ortho team had to come up with a plan to correct their mistakes. Mistakes I pointed out to them. I’ve spoken to several Orthos in CLT and BWC is not known for quality but for turning and burning clients and looking for the money first. After 6k, I now have to spend thousands more to correct my teeth, bite and smile. I would not recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: Love this practice! They are always so friendly, on time and very professional. I’m in my 40’s and squeeze in appointments between meetings so their attention to detail and timeliness is really helpful. Extra shout out to Chelle who I adore! She always trims my wires perfectly (IYKYK), she’s gentle and I genuinely have a great time chatting with her during my appointment. Always glad to see her! I’m also only 6 months in to my treatment and the change is already incredible. I thought I was too old for braces, but I’m so glad I took the leap. I’m already more confident with my smile, even with brace face :)

Positive experience: Overall, my experience was positive, and I truly appreciate the care and assistance I received. However, I did interact with two women whose demeanor came across a bit stiff. I wish I had caught their names, but I’d like to offer some gentle encouragement—while it's completely okay to be introverted, bringing a bit more warmth and energy can make a big difference when serving others. Getting dental work done is a vulnerable experience, and a reassuring presence goes a long way.

Fantastic experience: The young lady that i belelieve her name was Chell or Shell, she and only her deserves the 5 stars. She was very professional and genuine with my care when we were in the back. She was much better than the people in the University area. That facility even has a coffee and tea machine and the University doesn't. Now the front desk people older woman and middle age man weren't kind at all. Both of them need some type of customer service courses.

Fantastic experience: My daughter started her process over a year ago, and it has been an amazing journey . I had some issues with Retainer Club with an address error and issues getting my daughter Retainer delivered to us. Burrows and Welchel to the rescue, they ensured my daughter was well taken care of and emphasized my concerns . The office manager was so Dr. on duty, that day. I recommend this office not only do they take their patience and job serious , they communicate which is key. Burrows and Welchel take problem solving a step above. Fantastic experience: Absolutely love the retainer lady. She has been with the company for a very long time and she went above and beyond to make sure my retainers were the right fit. I had braces years ago and then when I moved to North Carolina my retainers broke. That was 2020 and Dr B.W. did a great job on that set. Unfortunately the upper broke recently and I had to get it remade. I went to a different orthodontist which was a huge mistake. They could not get the retainer to fit. I then came back to this Clinic (not sure why I didn't just call BW in the first place but needless to say they went above and beyond- even making adjustments to my spare retainer in order for me to be able to wear it until the new one comes in). My only complaint is you cannot reach the office when you call. Apparently they have outsourced their phone calls to a call center and I did not have a good experience. I would highly encourage them to listen to some of those recorded phone calls. It was very frustrating and I almost gave up trying to book the appt. I'm due to pick the retainer up in about a week and I hope that Dr BW can make the final adjustments so that it's perfect like it was the first time.

Negative experience: I really wanted to like this place because the doctors have all been nice, but they need to work on their team, assistants and customer service. My son has been there over a year. Between assistants not communicating rubberband placement, knowing how to work with autistic kids, missing appointments because of no reminders, limited appointments in Gastonia so having to trek into Charlotte or wait months for a reschedule, and rude customer service, I’m over it. About to switch because I’m exhausted by this place.

Positive experience: The first permanent, bonded retainer lasted 2 weeks and the second one lasted 1 week.

Fantastic experience: Called earlier for my twin boys that are pediatric pts & ortho pts. Was a little upset nothing was available sooner due to me & my wife's hectic schedule. Did take my anger out on a Rep name Camila that was very calm and kind on the phone that was able to get them squeezed in at another location that worked out. Would like to apologize again to her.

Fantastic experience: Took my daughter in for a consult and it was great! Dr Welchel and Alexis were wonderful! Everyone is so kind in the office. The quote for my daughter’s braces was far more reasonable than one I got at another practice. I’m looking forward to working with them in making my daughter feel better about her smile!

After I started treatment, I moved out of town and had to fly back in for appointments. They were always willing to work with my flight schedule and even got me in during a day that they were completely full. Highly recommend this amazing organization.

Negative experience: By far the worst orthodontist I’ve ever experienced! To have one of the dentist say to me that “we’re not ready to fully start but we have to do something so that it looks like we’ve gotten started to the insurance” 5 months wasted on pointless appointments! And it seems very discriminatory that if you have a certain type of insurance you can only go to a certain location but there are only 2 races of people at the location. It takes longer to get there than the actual visits of them doing absolutely nothing! Will be filing more complaints with the NC state board of dental examiners office and the BBB on this business!

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful that I found this team I arrived at the Waverly location in excruciating pain. I had an extremely deep bite that was forcing my lower teeth into my upper gum line 24 hours a day. I saw another orthodontist first, and the prognosis for a solution was not very good. I met Britney at Waverly location. I believe I was impatient, discourteous, and probably not very nice. When she told me she could help me, I was shocked. She quoted me a price, I said done deal. I asked her when, and she said how about one o’clock today. When I returned, I sat down in the chair, not knowing what to expect. Britney got to work with her assistants, and I have to tell you, I did not like this visit at all. I had no idea what this was supposed to be like, so I would rate myself as an extremely difficult patient through most of this visit. I humble myself. They were kind, and courteous, and patient, and extremely good at what they do! That was April, 2024. No more pain, my teeth are borderline amazing! I actually look forward to my visits to the orthodontist. Britney went, and continue to go way beyond what I could have imagined, because they care. This is rare in this day and age. This is life changing for me, I now smile, often, with my mouth open, showing off my amazing new teeth If you need orthopedic work, I cannot imagine a better choice than Burrow Welchel & Culp Orthodontics.

Positive experience: Everyone is friendly and the office is very clean. They listen to your concerns and wants pertaining to your teeth/smile. The only issue I had was in beginning they didn't tell me I would need a key to remove the aligners. They don't provide keys, so I had to order from Amazon. I struggled taking the aligners out without it. That information should be provided on the first visit so when patients return to the office after the aligners arrive (8 weeks later), they'll have their key.

Positive experience: i love this orthodontist it’s very quick and easy & everyone is respectful but the one thing i don’t like is how it’s limited color bands i have to choose from and i wish there was more colors

Negative experience: Got laid off from work, asked for a payment plan but no one could help remove my baby's braces. Had to pay 1000 dollars to remove them. Only young people working there.. and when they removed them, my daughter kept raising her hand to let them know it was painful but he kept going.. drilling her teeth without rinsing or stopping. Might as well hire robots.

Negative experience: Not big on writing review, but I needed to in this case. I called to schedule a consult which was recommended by my dentist. My dentist suggested this group, so I called. And it was just the most awful interaction with the lady who answered the call. I do not want to mention her name! All I wanted was a simple appointment. Tell me when you can schedule something for me. Instead she went on and on about wanting my insurance information to start. I work at one of the big banks here and I have insurance. I don't have the card with me so let's set the appointment and deal with insurance then, like ALMOST ALL THE OTHER places do. This should not be a stopper. Worst case, bill me. But I was not getting anywhere with her without the insurance information so I decided that if they can't get the basic first contact with their customer, right, how will they maintain their relationship with their customers. Train your staff better. Be more customer focused. Hire people who can think. Probably dodged a bullet with this place. Taking my business elsewhere.

Positive experience: If I had left this review a few years ago, it would’ve been 5 stars. Unfortunately, our third family member just wrapped up treatment and things have gone majorly downhill. In the beginning (2020ish), it felt like we knew everyone and were well taken care of. By the end, even my daughter commented, “I never see the same doctor twice!”. This certainly carried over to her treatment with inconsistent communication and the staff flat out not knowing certain things from visit to visit. They clearly don’t look closely at treatment plans or X-rays and just rush from Patient to patient—turn and burn. Be prepared to advocate! Scheduling also became a logistical nightmare. That being said, I can give credit where it’s due and say the 3 of us all have great smiles! Hopefully, they’ll go back to their roots which lead to the success that lead to the growth, which unfortunately, seems to have lead to a decline in experience. Our family will choose a different orthodontist for our final patient.

Positive experience: Came here for about a year . Orthodontist do an amazing job. Sometimes front desk representatives aren’t the most pleasant over the phone. A bit unsettling . Other than that nice setting.

Positive experience: Beware of the scheduling nightmare! Ballantyne office is open every other week, this week they are open on Monday and Friday only. I paid for invisalign treatment and this week's tray was poorly made and cuts into my tongue on the side. Called the office and there's no appointments available and they cannot squeeze me in to fix my tray. Ugh! Fantastic experience: Dr. Welchel is the best. She has gone above and beyond for my daughter to make sure she is happy and comfortable. My 9 yr old looks forward to her ortho appts with her and I’m so pleased how quickly her smile has improved. This has been such a smooth process.

Fantastic experience: I only went in for a free consultation and the atmosphere was very nice and welcoming. I did my consultation with Debi and she was very informative about the different plans and payment options for braces that I could do. She also informed me about the retainer club which I appreciated because I told her I broke mine a few months ago and wasn’t sure how to get a new one. Debi was very sweet and she answered every question I had with no problems. I will definitely be coming back soon!

Fantastic experience: Dr Welchel was instrumental in laying out a plan for my daughter’s complicated teeth situation. She also helped me with some plates to correct some problems on my teeth. Not only is she a brilliant orthodontist, she explains what’s going on and the plan in a way that was easy to understand. Can’t recommend her enough.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff is amazing. Dr. Burrow has been my daughters orthodontist for years they were the first ones to see my daughter assist and apply her braces etc. Her braces have been off for two years she was having trouble with the retainer the saw her the same day. Again the entire staff is amazing thank you all.

Positive experience: Thursday, September 19th at 11:30am was my appointment day and time. Yes, I was on-time and I started typing this review because 40 minutes later I was still waiting to be seen. Needless to say the review “was” not going to be nice. However! Dr. Britney and one of her assistant’s Nakayla changed my mind. The two bedside manner was heartwarming, and they made me feel comfortable while providing outstanding customer service. Orthodontic procedures are costly yet provide everlasting confidence with a smile. Thank you both for rescuing my smile and going above and beyond to make things right on my behalf. More to it but not worth mentioning because they stood firm and high on core values!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Britney and the whole team were GREAT! They are a very CLEAN, professional office and Dr. Britney (Welchel) was very personable and informative. My daughter had a tiny bit of anxiety as the time grew closer for her to get braces but the team made it a comfortable and safe atmosphere. Not to mention THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! Special shout out to Gracie for being an AWESOME “right hand” for Dr. Britney. All of the supporting staff are just as professional and confident. I didn’t feel like I couldn’t ask questions but they were WELL prepared, answering my questions before I could actually ask them!! I especially love how it’s a clean, professional work environment that isn’t uptight. Everyone looks happy and they talk to their patients!! Fantastic experience: We had a great experience at this location, the staff is very friendly and we're clear about everything se needed to know regarding our case. The doctors who checked my daughter were very knowledgeable and answered every question we had. The whole place seemed spotless and organized.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Brittany is hands down THE best doctor! Takes her time with patients. Will call you directly if she has any concerns. Works directly with my dentist to ensure my teeth are perfect. She doesn't give up until everyone involved is satisfied. She has seen my entire family and we all feel the same way - love her!!! I have only dealt with Dr. Brittany, but with all visits over the years with myself and my 2 kids, I can tell you the entire staff is so sweet!

Fantastic experience: Thank you to Bri, who was so knowledgeable and helped me so much when my new retainer was very tight. She was so friendly, She added tips on how to take it on and off and added another tool that I could use to make sure my teeth are nice and straight. She went above and beyond with care. I also recommend this practice as I have been going to them with my children for over 30 years.

Positive experience: Dr Brittany and Dr Sam are wonderful and the treatment I got was wonderful. Their front desk staff though are some of the most rude, incompetente and careless people that I have ever dealt with. The first issue was they misquoted my payment plan by 4 months and I ended up actually paying longer than they told me I would, and now they ended up billing my visits to a plan that has been inactive for 2 years. Been trying to fix for several days an talk to the billing specialist and still have yet to get a phone call from them despite having called twice to explain how urgent this matter is. These receptionists are rude, careless and incredibly untrained . Kate at the insurance dept. was so helpful and tried to resolve this issue for me. This doesn’t detract from the receptionists. Train your staff accurately so they don’t make mistakes like these that end up costing the patient. This detracts from the wonderful experience with the Drs.

Fantastic experience: I’m not finished with my treatment just yet but Burrow Welchel & Culp Orthodontics has been really great so far! I’m currently going through Invisalign treatment. All the staff in the office is SO nice. They are always on top of scheduling appointments and then I never wait to be seen once in there. I’ve had to change appointment times before and they have always been very flexible and work with me. My appointments are quick and I’m always seen by the doctor. My trays have all fit well and I can see the difference in my teeth straightening out. I’m very happy with the results thus far. Honestly can’t say enough good things and I don’t have one bad thing to say about this ortho! ☺️ Would definitely recommend!!

Fantastic experience: The staff is so kind and warm. They walked my 11 year old through everything as well as walking me through her treatment plan. Dr. Welchel is amazing. Can’t say enough about our wonderful experience!

Positive experience: I previously had braces a few years back and my teeth spaced out a little bit and I wanted to close them again. Did a consult here for braces/Invisalign. I was told I would need to wear them for 14 months and price around $4700 after insurance. The 14 months was longer than I wore my original set of braces 4 years ago when my teeth were a lot worse. I decided to do two other consults at other highly reviewed offices and both offices told me I wouldn't need Invisalign for longer than 6 months and charged half the price after insurance coverage. Very friendly staff but shop around with these things.

Positive experience: I really appreciate this facility. I 1st took my daughter here about 12yrs ago. She is now 22yrs old. I had such a good experience when my 9 yr old son needed braces they were the first place that I thought to go to years later. They recommended at that time, that he wait until the age of 11. He has now had braces on for 1yr. Then, about a year later, my other son needed braces. He is now 10 and has had his braces on for 2 months. I wouldn’t take my children anywhere else. I now expect my younger two daughters will need some, lol! So we will be right here at this facility as long as they keep things as is! They are awesome and very professional.
