Fantastic experience: The facility is clean, bright, colorful, and staff are all very friendly, professional and helpful. Twin toddlers arriving in a double stroller were able to use a lift elevator, recently installed for handicap use. Just a phone call to let them know you have arrived, sends a helper to greet you, and assist in operating the lift. Happy smiles, balloons to take home and another ride down on the lift completed a first visit to the dentist! Next appointment already scheduled.

Negative experience: This place is horrible they close early due to rain they lie about apportionment times I wouldn’t recommend so confusing

Definitely recommending this practice to everyone I know with children!! Beautiful and very clean office with all up to date machinery! Fantastic experience: After having a really terrible experience with Pediatric Dentistry of Kingston and Catskill I decided to try Children's Dental Group in Poughkeepsie for my 7 year old. You can tell that the staff truly care about the health of children and that they value supporting parents in that process My son has sensory sensitivities which make it difficult to do certain things as a mom, especially going to the dentist, at the end of our visit I also. felt like I was taken care of too. It was a really pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: 1st time here with my 3yr old son and 1 1/2yr old daughter. The assistant Anthony was very good with keeping my son entertained while waiting for the dentist to come in, also explaining how the exam would go and asking if any concerns and he was great listening to whatever I had to say. So considering that both my children had appts my son's 1st then daughters right after, they had us in the same room and just started with one kid after the other. The dentist was quick and informative and was pretty cool. I seem to get a good vibe from the dentist and assist. So for my 1st visit, Very Happy. Only thing to me was that there really isn't much to the waiting room except the tv. There are no toys or kids table or anything. But... its not always a bad thing. Considering germs or people could run off with the toys or anything. And I had my son's tablet and I never asked if they had WiFi but my service was kinda in a dead zone in the office. If your kid can't sit still then its kinda hard to keep him occupied till being called lol. But Anthony did give him a balloon and kinda show him around after being called while we were waiting for the dentist to come in. They also have a TV in the actual dental room. So far it was a great visit. The receptionist was very nice who checked us in. I'm not sure of her name, my apologies but she was pleasant.

Positive experience: Samantha and the other girl at the front desk were lovely. They both went out of their way to help. The male dental assistant was wonderful as well. The dentist Dr Sing was not friendly and uncompassionate. She told me daughter there was nothing they could do to relieve her pain and she could take Advil and deal with it. If they get another dentist I would recommend them, but stay away with DR sing.

Fantastic experience: It was my daughter’s second dental visit and Hemma was absolutely wonderful she was patient and kind and very knowledgeable. I was expecting it to be not the best visit since her first visit was rough and she is a toddler,6@but she really made a difference absolutely recommend her if your kids are afraid of going to the dentist. My daughter walked away with a smile and looking forward to come back.

Negative experience: The hygienist and the x ray tech were both very nice. I had no issues with them. Unfortunately, we never got to see the dentist. We were there for an hour and a half and decided to leave. The dentist saw other patients before us who arrived after us. I don’t know how they expect a 4 year old to wait half hour+ in a dentist chair. They had the tv on but I don’t want my kid zoning out staring at it for half an hour+ waiting for the doctor. On top of that, the office was very dirty. I would not recommend coming here unless you have lots of free time to wait

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my 2 kids to this office for over 2 years now and the quality of the service has been excellent. The dr and hygienist are very knowledgeable, informative, and patient. The kids love coming here. The rooms are filled with wall sized murals and each room has a TV for their viewing pleasure. The front desk staff bend over backwards to accommodate us and my busy schedule. The providers teach the kids how to brush and what types of food to stay away from. They also have laughing gas. My kids have no cavities but it's good to know there's something here for nervous little ones. Great job guys!!! My kids love going to the dentist here! The brand new office and rooms look great and I love the kid friendly themes. The level of professional service and care from the staff here is top notch, from the front desk personnel to the dental assistants, hygienist and doctors.

Fantastic experience: I was able to get an appointment rather quickly when scheduling for my toddler. The hygienist was very kind and answered all questions and the dentist was very informative with tips for assisting my son with flossing. A 10 out of 10 experience and I highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Great first visit! Friendly staff, fun colors and kid-friendly vibe. The receptionists were super helpful and accommodating. Dr. Kang was professional and clear about concerns and next steps. His back-office support team were fantastic. Glad we found this office.

Negative experience: My 5 yr old daughter loves doctors and dentists. When she gets a shot or blood drawn she thanks the nurse and gives her a hug. She was very excited for her appointment last week. But it turned into a nightmare. Dr. Kang should never work with children. Not sure what happened with the novocaine but it did not do its job. My daughter started screaming in pain when he was drilling. I asked if we could wait for it to kick in, but Kang just kept going. By the end of the drilling, she was crying so hard and getting congestion in her nose. (She did have a cold earlier that week) this made it harder for her to breathe through her nose. Kang used some plastic shield to keep her mouth open and tongue out of the way, but she was gagging and choking as they held her down and had me hold her hands down. I literally thought she would stop breathing and I made him stop. Asked if she could just have some water and calm down before he tried again to put the clamps on and fill the holes (she had pushed these out with her tongue in her attempt to breathe, and could have choked on the clamp rings) Kang said no, no water and we just had to do this, and me hugging her was the problem. That I was babying her. We were able to get him to do some temporary fillings. And left as soon as we could, after he kept lecturing us. Her mouth was not numb! She could feel and move everything on that side. And when we asked later if she was just upset from being uncomfortable, she winced as she recalled the pain. She asked, “why was he nice first and then mean?” She also said maybe he’s too tired because he’s the only dentist. That is an issue at the clinic, which seems understaffed. The hygienist is nice, and the assistants, but they should have spoken out against what he did. Being understaffed is no excuse for abuse! I will never forget the way my child was pinned down while gagging and crying from pain. When she first screamed in pain, he should have stopped and numbed her more. He should not have blamed my parenting for her behavior, as it was a reaction to real pain. She still has all these little purple and red dots on her cheek, the side where he was pushing on her face to keep her down, 3 days later. I wonder even, whether they’re using less novocaine to cut costs. No amount of new office and wallpaper makes up for a doctor like Kang.

Fantastic experience: It’s nice to see dr. S today.. as usual quick and effortless. thank you to the whole crew today the new office is lovely… big change from the old one. Love the Assistants and The hygienist that we so love!! ❤️ The reception is good even though there’s only two of them. they assisted everyone good. made sure i was mom and explained the paperworks and what i was signing. the lady who took my son’s xrayss is good. I hope they keep up the good work ☺️

The staff is so kind and patient, they explain things in kid-friendly terms, and the dentist was very understanding and gentle. The clinic is also clean and bright, and it was just a really positive experience. Pretty great children's dentist. Would recommend

Fantastic experience: Went to the office today everything was so smooth and quick, the doctor and 2 assistants we’re great at handling things. couldn’t even finish the paperworks as we got called in quickly! Michele and Destiny were great i was expecting a long wait but turns out everything was fast and easy. my kid didn’t even feel any anxiety as he went in even in taking x-rays. Highly recommend! and not the least, receptionists are good too, greats and assist. patients in a good way and although i can’t see their faces (masked on) i know they’re all happily assisting everyone!

Fantastic experience: been coming here for a while.. my kids are always attend to with care, the staff are well versed and good at their Job, the y explain the forms you need to sign they make sure it's their parents or guardian who takes the kids. they handle special needs patients so well and their Dental assistants great they all go above and beyond to help my child feel at ease specially when taking x-rays. The hygienist and docter work in sycnc despite the busy schedule. I never seen a clinic with this much patience to all patients. I love the new office i hope they all keep up the good work and we are excited to see them again for our next appointment!

Negative experience: I brought my son here because they were supposed to specialize with children. I let them know that he was very nervous at the dentist. I have never seen a practice with such little patience for children. The tech was having trouble getting X Rays and started getting frustrated and giving my son an attitude. At that point she hurt him with the metal X Ray piece so he started crying. She yelled at him to stop crying and she had the nerve to tell my son “you’re not leaving here until you take the pictures even if it’s all day long” At that point the other dentist wisely got her out of the room. The other dentist then told us to leave the room and go back to the waiting area because there was a problem with our insurance, which was convenient considering there was no issue with insurance prior to the tech’s unprofessional behavior. When we went to the front desk, nobody even said anything about insurance to us. We were just told to have a seat and wait for the dentist to be available which proves that was just a lie to get us out of the room so they can prioritize other patients. After waiting for 10 minutes and seeing multiple patients go before us, I decided to leave and NEVER return. If you truly care about your child, you will avoid this practice at all costs.

Negative experience: I am writing to formally address concerns regarding my wife’s experience with Dr. Kang. During the consultation, Dr. Kang's behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, whom he spoke to in a rude and demeaning manner. Additionally, attempts to ask for clarity on services were met with ridicule. The hygienist was on the other hand great and professional, thank you. Please consider this a formal notice of my dissatisfaction with the unprofessionalism.

Fantastic experience: very helpful friendly staff came in with our son who’d taken a fall and they were very reassuring highly recommend

Positive experience: I have been here a couple times now and the improvements have been great. Always good to see a business progressing. Although the wait time is very long, and the building is still going through maintenance, the staff have been very helpful and pleasant every time I’ve gone with my kids and for me, that makes all the difference when going to a medical appointment. I look forward to the new elevator being added in the coming weeks to make it easier to manage a double stroller (and wheelchairs of course). Stickers for the kids after would be a great touch! PS: I loved how comfortable my daughter was with the dental hygienist! She was so gentle and caring with my daughter, that the only tears shed were my own (having her favorite show on the tv definitely helped too).

Negative experience: Dr. Sung should lose her license as a pediatric dentist!! She is rude and unprofessional and doesn't know what she is talking about. My daughter had her first appointment with Dr. Sung a few months ago. She woke up that morning with a swollen cheek. We knew she had a bad tooth but recently got dental insurance and were previously paying out of pocket for dental work which was a fortune. Called up Tru Dental and made an appointment with the hopes of getting oral antibiotics for her tooth as well as making an appointment to have the tooth extracted. Dr. Sung came in and took a 1 second look at my daughter and immediately started shouting at my mother and I how she was refusing to send a prescription for oral antibiotics and that my daughter Madison needed to go to the ER to have antibiotics through an IV. We left very uncomfortable as she was just so rude. My husband drove my daughter to the ER. The ER told my husband that my daughter was nowhere close to needing a IV for antibiotics and prescribed my daughter oral antibiotics. They also made a remark about how Dr. Sung pushed the problem elsewhere when all she had to do was call in a script. We asked numerous times before we left Dr. Sung and she repeatedly shouted at us and said my daughter needed an IV. After my daughter came home from the hospital, I called up Dr. Sungs office and asked the receptionist if she could call me back so I could share with her what happened at the ER. Dr. Sung didn't call me back but another female dentist did. Go figure. I told the dentist that I wouldn't be keeping my appointment for my daughter to have the tooth extracted and that I'd be going elsewhere and explain how our 1st visit there, was absolutely disturbing. Fast forward, my daughter had an amazing experience yesterday when going to a new pediatric dentist in Hopewell Junction to have her tooth extracted but Dr. Sung WROTE THE WRONG TOOTH DOWN in my daughters referral letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unprofessional! That place is a joke and I would never send any of my kids there again and I surely would never recommend going there.

We will be making the 50 min trip here without hesitation. Also Malik was very helpful faith the insurance aspect luckily I waited and did not just leave when I was unsure about the insurance.

But recently we decided to let go of our beloved dentist because of constraints with our schedules. My kids are now seen by Dr. Kang. And they love him!!! I think that’s all that matters.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited True Dental and had an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and professional. The office was clean and well-organized, which immediately put me at ease. Dr. Kang and his assistant Henna along with the rest of the staff ,thorough in explaining the procedures and made sure I was comfortable throughout my visit. The level of care and attention to detail was exceptional. I appreciated the gentle approach and the time taken to address all my concerns. Overall, I highly recommend Tru Dental to anyone looking for top-notch dental care. They truly go above and beyond to ensure their patients have a positive and comfortable experience. Ps. My daughter love the dentist.

Fantastic experience: They were amazing staff and doctors, especially with my disabled grandson where they had to carry him up the stairs because the ramp was not put in yet. Would recommend this dentist office to everyone.They were really great in taking care of him.Making him laugh making him feel very comfortable.So he didn't mind them and working on his mouth.

Negative experience: Had a very disgusting encounter with Dr. Kan this morning. 9/18/2024. My son age 5 had a tooth extraction a few weeks ago and even though I did laughing gas he needed to get local anesthesia to get his tooth pulled out. I knew that had to get done but my son has been traumatized since then. Having to go back for more work was terrifying for him since he knew what was coming. We went to get 2 caps done today and I paid for the laughing gas and of course he needed to get anesthesia on his gums to numb his teeth. As a 32 yo that has gotten anesthesia on her gums I KNOW that it hurts and it’s very uncomfortable. I can only imagine a CHILD (5yo) having to endure that. Dr. Kan was upset that my son was crying and screaming and trying to touch his mouth because it hurt him when the needle went thru his gums. Dr. Kan kept pushing my sons hands down and becoming more and more inpatient that my son was crying and screaming. As much as I am trying to calm my son down at this point he’s already traumatized. Coming down to the last bit of the appointment I lost it when he kept telling my son “if you don’t stop crying I’m going to pull that tooth out too” ARE YOU KIDDING ME! That’s when I lost it. How in the hell as a pediatric dentist are you going to scare a crying and screaming kid into pulling his tooth out because he won’t stop crying and screaming? Words were exchanged and he said “Well if you don’t like it here you can go somewhere else” Least to say I will NOT be referring him to anyone even though he has been highly recommended by my friend who’s daughter is autistic and they has no problem there. My sister had a similar encounter a few weeks ago as well with one of her daughters. He became impatient when my niece was crying because of trauma from previous dentists and basically told her the same thing.

I Love Tru Dental I’ve lived in Poughkeepsie for 4 years and I’ve went one other place and I’d much rather stick with Tru Dental!!! They’re moving their location soon and I’m moving right along with them !!!! Love Them !!!!! I attend the adult office for myself !!!
