Negative experience: My daughter and I have had many unpleasant experiences here. 1st time we had Dr. H and he was seeing my daughter in 1 of the rooms and she was scared because he came in didn't ask her if he could look in her mouth or anything just started trying to poke around in her mouth she of course got upset and was crying and he proceeded to tell me he thought there was something mentally wrong with her and she needed serious mental help. At this point I am telling him to leave and his assistant apologized profusely for his behavior and the way she talked to my daughter had her calming down and able to finish the teeth brushing as she was only 6 at the time. I called the office to complain later that afternoon because the manager was not available when I left. I told her what happend and she basically was like yeah that's how that doctor is and she promised we would never get him again and also that we would have that same wonderful assistant everytime we come back. I told her please add it to both my kids charts. She said she did seemed like it was all fixed and okay other then my daughter being terrified of the dentist office now!!! 2nd incident was recently I took my kids in for their cleanings my daughter gets pulled back by someone new we have never seem, which was strange because her chart is supposed to say the 1 dental assistant only. I dont say anything and give this girl a chance...it turned out fine but then the dr comes over and tells me the exact same thing he just told the girl in the next chair...multiple cavities that need to be treated and gives multiple options for how to treat but at the end says the only way he would be comfortable is if my child is under general sedation. Which is strange because he said the exact same thing to the other little one he saw before my daughter in the next chair. I was very upset and told the dr general sedation is not an option for my daughter without trying 1 of the other options 1st. He then dismissed us and the front desk presented me with cost estimates and the only thing they would give cost estimates on was general sedation nothing else no other options. I didnt even bother calling the office manager because clearly this office will not change. There were many other inappropriate things that happend during that visit including vulgar conversation happening between the hygienist and the assistant who was working on my son's teeth in the chair next door that I could hear and he told me about after we left. Would love for this office to contact me and ask exactly why I am moving my kids to a new office.

Fantastic experience: My daughter who just turned 2 went under anesthesia for quite extensive dental work, we were nervous as first time parents but Dr. Collette and his team made us feel comfortable and confident in the procedure, everything went really well and our daughters teeth look beautiful thank you so much. This will be our new dental place for her they are amazing.

Positive experience: Brought in my son for some fillings and anesthesia and I am very happy with how we were treated and how everything was explained to us. We were brought in to a back room where Aracely took my sons vitals and we were privately spoken to as far as how the procedure would go. Dr Hamilton came to speak to us and what to expect. Once my son was taken to go under anesthesia, and almost done Aracely came back to let us know my son was almost done and that he had been doing good. I really appreciate the nice experience from staff. Thank you Smile Surfers.

Fantastic experience: ALL the staff from the phone reception staff scheduling and confirming insurance information, front desk staff welcoming us and GREAT hygienists and the doctors put their patients (our KIDS) first. I first met Dr. Hamilton (and Dr. Collette) at my place of work and saw/heard first hand how they cared for their patients. New to the area, I knew immediately they would be my kiddos’ dentists! Thank you for being awesome!!

Fantastic experience: I recently took my child to Smile Surfers Dentistry, and we had a fantastic experience! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and friendly staff. The colorful and playful decor immediately set a positive tone, making my child feel relaxed and excited rather than anxious. The dentist, Dr. Hamilton, was incredibly patient and took the time to explain each step of the process in a fun and engaging way that my child could easily understand. They used child-friendly terms and made the whole experience feel like an adventure. The staff was attentive and showed genuine care for the kids, which really made a difference. The dental hygienists are always excellent at making the cleaning process enjoyable, using a variety of tools and techniques that captured my daughter’s attrntion. They even had prizes at the end, which motivated my little one to participate actively.

Negative experience: I don't recommend this place to be honest. The way they operate is all backward because On 05/19/2025 my stepson had Oral Surgery at "Smile Surfers Kids Dentistry" and in the middle of us waiting in the private waiting room as our kiddo was in surgery. They came in and asked us to wait in the lobby because they needed the room for another patient..

All the drs are knowledgeable and keep parents in the loop at all steps of every procedure. Fantastic experience: Amazing Team! From the front Desk to the back of the office. I swapped all my 3 kids to Smile Surfers. They are professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. My kiddo had a procedure today. Aracely was very friendly while taking my kiddos vitals. Making the whole process smooth for when the doctors came in to chat with us to go over the plan. Dr. Collette and Dr. Sandman our Anasthesialogist was very informative and they are so easy to talk to. Plus side they had a massage chair to wait for kiddo to come out of the procedure. Also, the building is very clean and has a cool playground.

Fantastic experience: We love the entire staff at the Richland smile surfers. My kids look forward to coming. The front staff are very helpful with scheduling and never rush me on the phone. The back staff are so nice and take the time to explain every step. Highly recommend

Negative experience: We had the worst dental experience of my life at the Richland Smile Surfers and I feel obligated to post so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. My 9yo was scheduled for 2 filling. He was very nervous and when walking into the room, told the hygienist that he was scared. She didn’t even respond to him, but instead pointed to the chair for him to sit. I should have known to leave right then. He screamed out loud when the same hygienist gave him the numbing shots - she clearly didn’t go slowly enough for it not to hurt. The next hour and a half were horrific- my son was in pain the entire appointment and no matter what he said they told him he was fine and that what they were doing didn’t hurt. They never once stopped to ask him what was hurting or try to ease his pain or anxiety. My kid, who doesn’t cry easily, was crying for over half the appointment and by the end of the appointment, the dentist and hygienist were both visibly annoyed and kept telling him to sit still so it didn’t take as long. They had zero compassion or patience and my son is now terrified of the dentist. Stay far away from Smile Surfers - who claim to be a kid’s dentistry but have absolutely no time for kids being kids (nervous, anxious, and wiggly). I will obviously never be back.

Fantastic experience: We brought our two year old daughter here to get a dental surgery done and were immediately welcomed with a delightful smelling lobby, a friendly and sweet receptionist, very kid-friendly environment, and safe-feeling space. The dentists and anesthesiologist were all very informative and happy to answer any questions we may have had. They also immediately put on a kids show - Bluey, a family loved show, once we got to the waiting room, the room had toys to play with and a massage chair for the parent(s) / guardian to relax in while waiting, as well as quiet kid-friendly music played out in the lobby. The office has a very calm atmosphere, comfortable seats and lots to do for the kids, definitely recommend. After the procedure was done, the dentist came out to explain and answer any further questions that we may have as well as address any possible concerns, he has been awesome since we came here, so an additional thanks to Dentist / Dr. Collette ❤️

The service here was amazing, they were very straightforward and friendly and very informative about everything they would be doing and information about afterwards. Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic experience at Smile Surfers today. The check in process was quick and easy. We got called back right away and the staff were efficient and worked well together. Our assistant Mayra was very attentive and accommodating to my son. She put on a movie for him right away and helped keep him comfortable throughout the procedures today. Our hygienist Yuliya was patient and thorough. She allowed my son plenty of breaks and was very warm. Dr. Hamilton was so fun and playful. He talks to the children on their level and makes sure they understand the importance of taking care of their teeth. He really got through to my son! Highly recommend this office!!

From the pleasant greetings when we walked in the door, the ease of the check in, all the way to the dental techs Ashely and Evelyn and the Dentist Dr. Reese. Everybody was positive and provided warm greetings ensuring both children were at ease during their first visit to our new dentist which made the worries of a new move lessen. So glad we found this place and happy to refer them to all of our friends and family!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this clinic! Staff are very welcoming and kind. I came in for a tongue and lip tie procedure for my one month old baby and they took me in as soon as in few days when everywhere else I had to wait for one month to just be seen.

Fantastic experience: Today was our first visit. The office is very child friendly and welcoming. The office staff send LOTS of reminders which is helpful. Dr. Collette was great. He explained all the xrays and what was going on with our sons developing mouth and what he recommended now and what ee could just keep an eye on. Brenda was wonderful with our 10 year old. She got him set up with headphones and a movie and was so patient and fun! We will definitely be back!!

Fantastic experience: I was so very happy with the visit from start to finish . Brenda A. helped my boy and I through the whole visit and she made it very comfortable for him throughout his visit! Also Dr. Rees was the best at making my son feel comfortable and calm! And good at explaining every option ! He Talked my son through the whole thing and very good at speaking Spanish ! Thank you !

Fantastic experience: I just want to say how amazing Dr. Hamilton and his staff are. I drove from Yakima to tricites for my son to be seen. Not only did they get him in next day [friday] they got all his fillings done Monday morning so he wouldn't be in pain anymore. They were calm and made my son feel calm during the whole thing. Fantastic experience: I first heard about smile surfers through a recommendation from our lactation consultant after my son was struggling with nursing at around 8 weeks. They performed a tongue and lip tie revision and we had amazing results with my son now being 9 months old and nursing great! We started taking my daughter there shortly after his appointment, she was a little over 2. The atmosphere is so happy and inviting for kids and the staff has always been over the top friendly and welcoming. During my son’s revision I was so nervous and there was the kindest staff member who comforted me and really helped put my nerves at ease. I love this practice and am so thankful that we found them for our littles!

Negative experience: Smile Surfers Kids Dentistry is a joke. 3 times in the last few months, they have given us an appointment, we show up, and then we are not on the schedule. I drive 35 mins to get them! The last dentist we saw was incredibly rude and did not give me any info on the app. He acted like we were a burden. On the way out the hygienist told me "oh by the way, the tooth your son hit last month is not growing anymore. We'll see you next month. " What! No game plan, no nothing. We saw a new dentist 2 weeks later and where shocked to hear that our son had a rather large cavity that we were not told about.

Fantastic experience: We’ve had kind and compassionate care every visit. We have been coming since my son was a year and they have never been pushy or judgey (we had cavities in several teeth). My son loves playing there and overall we’ve had a positive experience with all of the doctors we’ve seen.
