Fantastic experience: I am very anxious about dentists generally… Taylor set my appt and was my dental asst. she was amazing and friendly and kind and non judgmental as were the rest of the staff! Dr. B was very kind and professional and friendly and great at communicating! He asked me at least 4 times if I had any questions. He was patient and understanding and down to earth and very conservative and didn’t try to push extras on me. He also was proactive in referring me to an endodontist for a procedure I will need and was just above and beyond. Matthews Family Dentist have a new family of lifelong patients!!

Positive experience: My family has been coming here for 17 years. We always receive great service and everyone is super kind. They are always so busy, so if you have to reschedule your visit you will have to wait months to get another appointment. Since our hygienist left a few years ago it does not seem I can get the same hygienist each time. Every hygienist I have gotten though has been really sweet. The only reason for 4 stars is because the music is way too loud in the office. I am not sure about anyone else, but when I come to the dentist I am always a bit nervous. Soft calming music would be much better. Just my opinion, but we do love this practice.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been to the dentist in 2 years and was way overdue for a cleaning. I put it off because being at the dentist not only gives me anxiety, but I also experience sensory overload every time I'm there (the sounds of the tools, the sound of my teeth being scraped, etc.). 2 years ago, the dentist I was seeing told me that I needed 2 cavities filled. I would have been paying out of pocket to have these 2 cavities filled, because my dental insurance was maxed out due to a root canal I had that year (which my insurance didn't even cover the entire root canal, I ended up paying roughly $1,400 out of pocket). Today was my first appointment with Dr. Jay (I believe that was how he introduced himself). The first thing he asked me was if I had any concerns with anxiety, being at the dentist, etc. He also asked if I had any concerns with moving forward with necessary procedures. I have NEVER been asked these questions by a dentist before and it made me feel like my concerns were actually being addressed/validated. He also informed me that I have ZERO cavities. I do need a deep cleaning, but I have ZERO CAVITIES. I would have paid out of pocket to fill "cavities" I didn't even have if I had gone back to my prior dentist. I am so thankful that I found Matthews Family Dentistry and can already tell that I'm going to be well taken care of. 10/10 recommend.

My dentist, Dr. Kashyap and his assistant, Taylor were knowledgeable, personable and made my experience enjoyable (yes, an enjoyable dental experience!). I had a crown made and the entire appointment lasted 2 hours. From the time I sat down in the chair until I walked out, including the manufacturing of the crown (in office). Highly recommended!!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have had great experiences with MFD. We hadn’t been for years, so to be treated with respect and care by such professionals was a good surprise. I have anxiety with dentists but doctor Barrero and staff were very easy to talk to and explained everything and asked if I was comfortable and asked many times if I had questions or concerns. They made a plan for me and even the lady explaining the payments and appointments going forward was kind to work with. Definitely recommend!

This is the best Dental place I have been too, and believe me when my Insurance seemed to renew every couple of years at my job I had to switch dentist because they didn’t take the Insurance I had. But I have used Matthews Family Dentistry for many years now and I have to say it’s my only one I will go to for now on. I am not putting down the other places I have ever been because they all have their good qualities, But this one I always feel comfortable in. They listen to what I tell them. They don’t let you walk out until you are completely satisfied, and if your to numb to know, they always make sure you call them back if your not happy. Everyone in the building that works there are kind and friendly, courteous I SO recommend Matthews Family Dentistry! If you don’t use them you could be missing out

They treat you courteously and make you as comfortable as possible — giving you sunglasses to protect your eyes from the bright light they use to examine your teeth and work in your mouth. They also offer you a pillow to protect your neck and the back of your head. The whole staff is very organized and professional in their manner. Fantastic experience: From the time I walk in the front door until the time I leave, I feel cared for and sincerely valued as a patient. Quality dental care is what lies behind their doors too, each provider I’ve seen takes time to educate and explain treatment plans as well as the basis behind them for immediate concerns as well as long term benefits. Comfort during procedures is attended-to, and I am personally grateful for that as someone who experiences anxiety about dental pain. I was recommended to this practice by a friend many years ago and have recommended it to many others over the course of a decade, it’s safe to say I believe we’d all be in good hands at Matthews Family Dentistry .

Negative experience: My first visit here back in October was fantastic so I signed up online for their Perio plan and then attended my first appointment on the plan in December. However, it took a turn for the worse. I was on time for my December appointment, but had to wait 29 minutes to be seen. Once I was in the chair the attendent seemed to have no idea what was going on - she had no idea I was on the plan and kept making inaccurate statements, such as that I personally made a $300 payment on my last visit (which was not true, as I paid $0 out of pocket). She seemed confused about how the plan worked so I asked for a price estimate of today's work before anything was started. After sitting in the chair for a long time with no answer, I finally walked out to the front desk. Paris walked me through an estimate of today's planned work. For a "deep cleaning" and filling 2 crowns, it was going to be about $1500, Even though I was already paying for their monthly plan with the subscription fee. Apologies if I misunderstood, but between the extremely poor service today and the ludicrous prices, this seemed like highway robbery. Hopefully this was just an outlier as most people who work here seem nice. But I can't put up with terrible service, even if it's just once. Best of luck Matthews Family Dentistry.

I'm somehow always met with smiles when I arrive, even though I always request appointments god-awfully early in the morning . Everyone is knowledgeable and very personable -- it's easy to get the feeling that they genuinely care. It also says a lot that every staff member I talk to has been there for years. I moved to Charlotte 5 years ago, and I've been looking for this level of care since I got here. When I asked around, no one really loved their dentist. I feel so lucky that I found Matthews Family Dentistry. I can honestly say that Dr Kashyup and his team are outstanding.

Fantastic experience: I took my son to Matthews family dentistry for a tooth that was bothering him, he was nervous from a previous bad experience at a pediatric office, Danielle made him feel so comfortable, she showed him what she was going to do and why, she made him laugh and took really great care of him! Then he saw Dr. Kashyap, and he was so nice to us, he had an actual conversation with my son and made him feel heard and seen. He thoroughly looked at my son's teeth and made us feel confident in the treatment he needed, we didn't feel rushed or like we were at a factory dentist, he was simply great! They put a plan together for us, and we currently don't have insurance but they gave us a quote for their in house financing and then also a referral for a pediatric dentist that would be able to offer us the laughing gas during the procedure, Jennifer the insurance coordinator was extremely helpful,kind and patient, she took the time to breakdown everything for me and help us. Not to mention I had my two year old with me and he was being a little chaotic, Danielle was so kind in letting my little scavengers dig through their treasure drawer while I was able to talk to Jennifer. We are so thankful and my husband and I will be moving our dentistry needs to this office as well. I can not recommend this wonderful group enough! They do very thorough exams to make sure you receive the best oral care and treatment plans for a healthy oral cavity as a whole. Fantastic experience: Couldn't be more satisfied. I had several consults at different places but was referred to Dr Patel here at MFD. I, unfortunately, have been neglecting my teeth most of my adult life after having bad experiences as a child which mentally scarred me. But finally, I decided to make things right and get my teeth not just cleaned up, but truly fixed up properly. With much anxiety, I finally began the process of research and getting exams and estimates, etc. I instantly felt very welcome and calmed when I came in and as soon as I saw Dr Patel, before even meeting him and even with my anxiety and childhood fears, he just radiated a very warm and positive energy that instantly made me relax. When I got back there, everyone was so nice, professional, non-judgmental, and just made me feel very comfortable. All of the staff were fantastic. I spoke and worked with mostly Paris, Georgia, and Danielle, along with Dr Patel, and they were all just so nice and sweet and made me feel very comfortable. I am not one to usually leave reviews, and I'm definitely not one who's easily impressed, but I'm blown away and thoroughly impressed and satisfied. They replaced all my old amalgam fillings from childhood with fresh new tooth colored fillings, took care of a couple cavities that I did have that needed attention, fixed some cracks in a few teeth and put in five crowns. Pretty extensive work, I think. And they made it all very easy. Dr Patel, I can't thank you enough. You and all your staff are absolutely amazing and my fears of the dentist are now completely gone and I look forward to continuing my dental care with you all from here on out. Also, the technology and materials used were superior to the other offices I went to and the price ended up being much less than what other places quoted me. Beforehand, my teeth were an embarrassment, but now they look great and I'm so happy with how everything went and how they look now. I initially went in to get a new night guard for my TMJ, and decided to switch dentists and come to them for my bi-yearly cleanings.
