Negative experience: I wouldn't even give this Dentistry one star. I was told that I was going to have a free consultation end up paying $364. Erin if that's even her name told me ,making this appt in July I pacifically ask if this was a free visit just to see what type of services would be needed (only). She assured me yes but I guess that's how they operate bamboozle you to thinking one thing and after the service Sucker Punch you with a big fat bill too expensive for the work that I wanted and $61,000 this is insane literally cost more than my vehicle.....these was back teeth who in their right would go around showing their back teeth really..So beware before scheduling at this office I didn't even get an apology for being mislead she only made me feel even stupider when accusing me of not getting this information from her wow!!!!!I gorgeous a text today from them saying my card will be charged a 3% continence fee REALLY.......YW!

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst dentist I’ve ever been to To start with I had two teeth that were broken that I wanted fixed , I have insurance and I wanted them to be covered and I didn’t want to spend any extra money (so I would not waste the benefits) The doctor was on vacation so I elected to go in for teeth cleaning. They Took me in for a full comprehensive x-ray afterwords , which I did not need. I just had one done at another dentist. And sent them the x-rays They minimally looked at my mouth and then brought a salesman to close me with a detailed statement of $2400 that $1300 was my portion for deep root cleaning. I declined it. They brought another person in like a car dealership to close me. I declined that , then the hygienist came in and started searching looking through my mouth and I said what are you doing? I’ve declined this oral Cancer screening exam. She says I don’t care if you declined it and Even if we don’t charge you, which we’re not , we’re still going to do it after it , she offer The deep root cleaning again stating that they could do it for a little less than the $2400 but I still declined it , she got really perturbed At me and said fine we’re finished I went up to the front. They asked me if I was coming back to see the doctor when the doctor got back from vacation. I said I will let them know once I left there. I really thought I was walking out of Bill Heard Chevrolet. Trying to be closed like a car dealership Later my insurance got charged for having that oral Cancer screening exam Which I have never heard of and I declined. Tried to call the doctor to explain how bad this was. They referred me to other people and I asked to speak to the doctor and they said that he did not have time to contact me I since have had my teeth fixed and my teeth cleaned and I did not need the deep root cleaning that they were suggesting I would suggest buyer beware if you go here

Erin and Dr. Rustom were very professional and welcoming as it was my first time visiting their office. Dr. Rustom did an amazing job explaining my treatments and answered any concerns I had throughout my appointment. Her assistants KJ and Maria were amazing too! I will be back again 10/10 recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Rustom, Maria the dental assistant and the treatment coordinator Erin were absolutely wonderful during my visit today. I was coming from an old office and had some questions about my treatment plan and care. Maria immediately listened to my questions and had them addressed, Dr. Rustom took the appointment to do a thorough exam on my mouth to make sure my treatment plan was still accurate and then Erin went over the plan and made sure it was perfect and easy to understand. I really appreciated their efforts to make sure we were still on the same page

Fantastic experience: I have been suffering from dry mouth for over three months now, and I finally decided to go to the dentist. The staff was so extremely caring and understanding of my frustrations about my dry mouth. They took the time to sit down and talk with me about my medical history and helped me to figure out that it’s all connected to my acid reflux. (Which is a lot more than my primary care physician did.) They gave me a Prescription toothpaste and it’s been about a week and I’m already starting to see improvements. Also, I had gotten a night guard from this location and accidentally was given a lower guard instead of an upper guard. Well Loan Pham, RDH (Hygienist) Went above and beyond to make sure that the error was corrected. She ordered me a new night guard at no extra cost. Whenever I return to this dentist office, I’m going to make sure she’s the hygienist I see!

Fantastic experience: Finding a highly competent Dentist with a great team is not an easy task. I spend a few years putting it off because it is a lot of work.... reading qualifications, reviews and making calls then add to that finding the BEST that is close to your home. geez Finally made the decision to do it and my work paid off. Dr. Penchas at Midtown Dentistry, they have 3 locations to choose from, is as good as you will ever get and his team are fabulous. They manage your insurance and have the best professional manners you could ask for. Run don't walk to an appointment and I promise you will not be disappointed!!

Negative experience: BAD BAD. Untrustworthy. Unorganized. I visited for the 1st time last month. 4 Days later they sent me estimate totaling $ 13,000 (for all the drama filled issues with my teeth (5 cavities, 3 crowns ), without showing me, in person). This week I visited a dental group that is in 7 states with over 50 locations. The only issues this dental office found was to do deep cleaning treatment, add a vitamin gel to the teeth. Price out the door with x-rays & a new cordless power flosser (& fresh clean teeth) $ 2,200. No cavities , no need for crowns. Their MARKETING & Emails are annoying, way too many & show no heart (like AI or robot texting/talking). They just emailed me 3 times the morning of July 4th, with the same email. Brainless. No attention to detail. & they want to work on my teeth!!! No Way. .

Negative experience: Called about a emergency where I could barely open my mouth because of severe jaw pain, told the receptionist I had previously been told I had an abscess and was concerned and she asks me repeatedly “is this an emergency or would you like to schedule an appointment?” Girl how do you work at a dentist office and can’t differentiate from the symptoms I’m telling you about? Had to go to the ER because she wanted to have someone call me back while I’m in excruciating pain

Negative experience: I really hate leaving a bad review for Midtown Dentistry because I was and am still so happy with the dental implants I received. However, this business feels like a scam. Every time I would go for a cleaning, the hygienist would recommend all of these services and try to convince me to pay for them, but then the dentist would come in and say everything looks great. And they would hand me a card with a QR code for Google reviews and make me scan it before giving back my glasses and personal belongings. I ultimately switched dentists because of this, but now two years later, I randomly receive a bill for $345 from 2023. They never sent this bill once in the past two years but randomly start blowing up my phone with text messages today. And this is reminiscent of my first visit when I attended a "complimentary" consultation and received a $200 bill, and it took several days going back and forth on the phone trying to resolve it. This business feels like a scam and very money-hungry, and it feels sad to say that because again I really did like the work I had done.

Negative experience: I have to correct my review... While I thought Loan was a great hygienist, I've since come to realize either she, the business, or both are total "upsell" type providers. I urge caution if you're new to them after a lifetime of great dental care and suddenly everything in your mouth is wrong. Glad I returned to my dentist to have my suspicions confirmed. I only switched for insurance purposes that have since been rectified, so very happy to know I won't return here, even if I was under the same insurance issue for the rest of my life, I'd never trust their opinion again.

Today was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a positive experience. Their staff is top-notch. I was greeted with a smile at the front desk by Rebecca. Dr. Jones was very soft-spoken and made me feel comfortable. I have never been a fan of having to go to the dentist, and occasionally get anxiety. I can't say enough about how kind and helpful Emily was to me. She helped me be at ease and made sure I was taken care of. She is a sweetheart. Loan is the absolute best hygienist I have ever had. I was impressed by her expertise. She is extremely thorough, has patience, is knowledgeable, has a positive attitude, and a gentle touch. She screened me for cancer and gave me a deep cleaning. She explained the oral hygiene routine and made sure I understood. She also made me feel very much at ease throughout the entire procedure and I was very grateful. They really make you feel at home with personalized care. Loan made me feel like she was my personal hygienist cheerleader. I highly recommend this location and staff. Their professionalism is two thumbs up.

She conducts a simple, potentially life saving non invasive oral cancer screening on each visit. Never in all my years of going to the dentist has anyone ever even mentioned oral cancer to me. She ensures that she does this with every patient because she truly cares about her patients and her work. She is so incredibly thorough - my teeth, have never felt cleaner!

Oh, I had a cleaning by Pheobe the other day that far excelled any cleaning I’ve ever had as a Midtown customer/client. High energy and excellent customer service made my cleaning very enjoyable! Negative experience: I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE. Long story short, I went in to fix a crown, but let’s not talk about the price or other details. I just want to focus on the review, if the pain in my teeth will let me. I visited the office to fix the same crown for the third time. I told them I was experiencing shooting pain on the right side of my mouth. They took X-rays of my whole mouth, put on a temporary crown (since I had lost the previous one), and told me to come back on September 5th. Last week, I was on vacation, on a cruise, suffering from the pain in my mouth. I felt sorry for myself because my dentist clearly didn’t know what he was doing, and my family and I had to pay an expensive price—especially during our anniversary and vacation. It’s no joke dealing with tooth pain during such an important time, and I can’t believe the dentist didn’t learn his job well in school. It was a horrible experience. The first time I went to this office, I had a great experience. But this was my second horrible experience since my first visit. Last time, I ignored it because of that initial positive experience. I think management must have changed or something else has gone wrong at this place. I don’t recommend it anymore

Fantastic experience: Phoebe did a fabulous job cleaning my teeth! She provided recommendations for brands of toothpaste and toothbrushes which is much appreciated. Every experience at Midtown Dentistry Westheimer is a treat, everyone is kind, patient, and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience here. Loan (hygienist) and Emily (assistant) were amazing. They handled me with so much care, and none of my requests went unnoticed. The doctor who administered some local anesthetics was also good. I have no complaints.

Fantastic experience: As always, caring, empathetic, always there when you need them. Never make you feel like they are doing you a favor. As a matter of fact always watching out for your best interest. I’ve only had the very best care from them. World class! Thank you to the entire team. From the bottom on up to the top fantastic!

Negative experience: Update: I went back and had BCBS on the line ready to connect them. And they were ready to issue my refund. I do appreciate the timeliness in correcting the issue, but unsure that they would have worked so fast, had they not seen how upset I was by cancelling my appt for my husband as well. They had also reduced the $865 for the mouth guard they pitched me to $134 after processing with my insurance company. Previously they had “offered” to discount the $865 by 20%, which would have been $692. Someone that doesn’t know any better would have paid over $500 more than what would have been covered by insurance. (Pic attached) This type of practice is typically seen when employees are paid a commission or bonus from upsells. Bet that’s how their pay plans are structured. Ultimately, I’m grateful for getting my refund and for the timeliness of it. I just wonder how many other people and insurance companies they dupe into getting unnecessary procedures and paying more than necessary. I won’t be back. READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS FIRST, they all say the same thing. _______________________ I just moved here from Dallas and love everything about Houston. Except my experience here. I had the same dentist in McKinney for 10 years and have switched insurance companies multiple times during that time frame. I have never been to a dentist that states they couldn’t reach the insurance provider (Blue Cross Blue Shield!) and proceeds to charge me for the entirety of the visit ($558), stating it could take more than 30 days to get this completed. I guess my previous dentist just ate the cost till they processed with the insurance company? What if I couldn’t afford the cost? Would they then have tried to upsell me a heavy interest rate financing option? Beside all that, I felt like I was getting upsold the whole time. They came to present me a treatment plan for $865 for a mouth guard and told me they’d discount it by 20% since they hadn’t heard back from the insurance yet. I told them, um I will wait till you hear back from my insurance because what if they cover more than that? It felt predatory and I have built a career around working at CAR DEALERSHIPS! I had my husband’s appointment set for here too, and I made sure to cancel it. Aside from the money and insurance issue, it seemed like a decent enough teeth cleaning. My hygienist had shown me how my gums may be indicating a higher level of bacteria and definitely built in the fear that I needed a deeper level cleaning, which the dentist stated I didn’t need at this time. Really don’t appreciate the fear based selling. The sales tactics are very see through, but maybe not so much for someone that’s not in sales everyday. There were 3 attempts to upsell during the cleaning: a bacterial irrigation rinse ($32), a fluoride treatment, and mouth guard. And perhaps a failed attempt at a deeper cleaning that required anesthetics. Never experienced anything like this at my previous dentist. I hope I get reimbursed once they reach my insurance company.

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing experience! I had Eloy and Dr. Jones and they both made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I always dislike going to dentist because I've had bad experiences in the past from different dentist offices but Midtown Dentistry is truly amazing. I'm so glad I got both Eloy and Dr. Jones, there were so professional but also extremely personable as they did my annual teeth cleaning. I recommend going! (Supposed to post in july 2023). I have gone again to midtown dentistry in January 2024 and Valentina and Dr. Tran have been so wonderful, professional, and efficient. They are so kind and has made the dentist a truly wonder experience. I usually hate going to the dentist but since going to midtown dentistry it has been a great experience.

Fantastic experience: I really had a great experience today with Dr. Penchas, Loan, Tara,! I had been going to Dr Penchas and his staff there at Midtown Dentistry for over 11 years and have never been disappointed. But then I changed insurance providers and had to go somewhere else for about a year. I’m so glad to be back at Midtown Dentistry. I have unique needs as a patient and the crew they’re exceptionally conscientious and thorough. True professionals in every way!

Negative experience: Avoid!!! Disorganized, untrustworthy and predatory. I entrusted a permanent implant with this dental office and while the work is technically fine, the billing processes and the actual appointment issues were significant. First, don’t expect to not wait at least 30 minutes for your appointment. If it’s in the afternoon, expect 45+. There will be no apology. Second, I had an 8 AM appointment on a Monday morning that I showed up for and I was told that my implant had not been delivered. Nobody had called me to cancel my appointment or to let me know. Worse, I waited in the office 30 minutes for them to tell me that the implant had not arrived at the time of my appointment and that they would call me back when it came in, which was significantly inconvenient because I took off of work and I specifically arranged my whole morning based off of this appointment time. I was offered no apology. Then instead of calling me when my implant came in like they said they would I had to regularly call them in order to follow up and make this new appointment. When I finally go to my new appointment they tried to tell me over and over again that my insurance did not cover any implants (I have been fighting with them on this for the entire process) however, I knew that that was incorrect because I talked to my insurance prior to making this appointment to make sure that they covered it, and the issue was is that they did not bill insurance correctly (see other reviews as this is a common issue here it seems). They did not finish filling it out the form and there was no dentist associated with my claim so that is why they denied it. They still tried to collect hundreds of dollars from me at this appointment. I finally get my explanation of benefits and it turns out that a bunch of stuff is covered and that they actually owe me money so I just gave them a free loan. Of course they won’t call to tell you this you have to call them to let them know that they owe you money. I’m still waiting on this overage refund. So to summarize, work is fine but the office itself is shady and disorganized. Make sure you triple check your EOBs and their billing practices because I had to fight them every step of the way. Ensure you block off ample time for your appointment because you won’t be seen timely. If you’re waiting on something to be delivered for your appointment make sure you call them first to see if they got it before they have you show up for no reason. Be on your game here because they have predatory practices and will try and upsell you at every step of the way.

Fantastic experience: Always a 5 star experience. Great location, easy to schedule an appointment that accommodates my schedule and an in network provider with my insurance plan. My hygienist, Phoebe, provided a thorough yet gentle cleaning. Dr. Penchas is the star of the show! I always feel as though I’m part of the family with this team. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I visited Midtown dentistry for the first time and really enjoyed my experience! The front desk staff is so friendly & fast and Valentina did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth. She’s so sweet & caring and I really appreciated how thorough she was. The main doctor as well was super sweet! 10/10 experience

Fantastic experience: Dr. Loan and the rest of the team are absolutely fantastic. I’m typically not a fan of the dentist, but they make everything super easy to understand and i felt very little discomfort during my cleaning, even with how awful i’ve been at brushing. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: After a couple of terrible experiences finding trustworthy dentistry in Houston, I decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews. I scheduled an appointment with the Dental Hygienist Loan Pham based on the overwhelming positive reviews citing her professionalism and expertise. I had a great first impression of her during our initial consultation. Not only did she make me feel comfortable, she also walked me through the process and recommended procedures while providing the x-rays that highlighted the concerned areas that warranted the recommended procedures and answered all of my questions and concerns. Hygienist Pham made me like she had my best interest in mind. I'm very satisfied with my overall experience at this dentistry and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services. I'd highly recommend booking with Hygienist Loan Pham. I can confidently say that she is someone with a wealth of knowledge and experience who really takes pride in her profession and looks out for her patient's best interest.

Fantastic experience: Loan and the entire team does such an amazing and thorough job each time I come in! It’s always such a treat to come into this office and see the wonderful staff, I never thought I’d like coming to the dentist but this is definitely the exception.
