Fantastic experience: Very friendly and polite staff. I found my new dentist, thanks

Negative experience: Not the same practice as before. The providers— dentists, hygienists, techs—are ok. Their operation needs improvement. Despite having signage warning patients about fees if they miss appointments, the business is always late. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. Appointments have run so late (over an hour) I’ve had to leave and reschedule. I’ve been told multiple times that someone will follow up with me— either about not receiving something day of or a follow up appointment— and in both cases… nothing. They billed insurance for services I didn’t receive. If you have any questions after or expect issues to be resolved— don’t even bother. And, again, never expect an appointment to be on time.

Fantastic experience: I had to get two wisdom tooth pulled they was acting stubborn to get out but they made it happen very clean very nice very professional in they took they time with me but we got it done I highly recommend them to anybody needs work done 5 stars all day

Positive experience: Update 8/2025: I had an issue with a filling needing to be fixed. I was freaking out during the evening and I called the office line someone called me within 30 minutes and scheduled me for the following day. The dentist was so nice and helpful and the dental assistant too. I was able to get my filling fixed all in one day.— I always love coming here to get my denta services. Liked dentist Benjamin and sadly he left the east village. Came here recently really and glad to see that they hired new dentists. I had this new dentist a young lady give me an exam and she did a great job answering my questions and even noticed something I hadn’t before when she took a look at my teeth. Will keep coming back here because I love the people at the front desk too.

Positive experience: I’ve been receiving services with East Village Dental for 6+ years. At first I was impressed with their services however in the last 2 years or so services have been on decline. The front desk staff is a hit or miss. Some are friendly others approach you with just a “Sign in and have a seat.” I usually see Pragna (dental hygienist). She is professional and friendly, I book my cleanings with her. Dr. T is okay, he is usually in and out with 1 min of the visit. Some dental assistants go the extra mile, in my recent visit after the hygienist was finished, the dental assistant completed the last part (polishing). She sped through the last part, barely touching or going over my teeth, her approach felt cold and disconnected to “patient bedside manner” I work in the medical field, I came to my appointment directly after work. It would be nice to be met with a smile and welcoming attitude even if it’s a 5pm appointment.

Fantastic experience: I had to have a cap replaced. The work was quick and painless. Very professional. Pleased with the experience.

Fantastic experience: Went today and got attended super quick for a root canal , no pain and felt super comfortable at all times with them checking in with me making sure I felt comfortable during the procedure. Would definitely come again

She asks questions about your dental health and really listens to your concerns and issues surrounding your gums and teeth. She is also very gentle and makes the experience painless which is great for those of us with gum issues. Professional, knowledgeable and very nice - highly recommend you visit her. You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: Great experience here! I came for a second opinion on cavities. They were so nice to do another set of x-rays, took pictures, and reviewed them with me in detail. They also had AI assistance with the x-rays which was kind of cool, so I was able to see exactly what the dentist was seeing and referring to in regard to any potential cavities. I went from being told from a previous dentist that I have four cavities that have to be drilled and filled with reference to vague shadows to one cavity developing and it would be better to watch it and would cause more harm to fill. I can’t say they’ll magically get rid of cavities, but I will say they are honest and kind, and I look forward to my next cleaning with them (as much as you can look forward to the dentist lol).

Negative experience: My fiancé and I had a very frustrating experience at this dental center. They failed to inform either of us that they were out-of-network with our respective insurance plans. This led to us both paying 100% out-of-pocket for services we believed would be covered. Be sure to verify your coverage directly with your insurance before booking an appointment here.

Fantastic experience: Needed a last-minute dental fix and East Village Dental Centre came through big time. Walked in with a busted molar, walked out same day with a crown—no lie. Dropped around $150 with insurance, and the staff was super chill and upfront about costs. They even checked my insurance before doing anything, which was a nice touch. If you're in the West Town area and need a reliable dentist, this is the spot.

Fantastic experience: Great location in the heart of West Town/Noble Square. From the day I stopped by for an emergency appointment to fix a broken bar, I knew this place would be great, and now I've been a customer for over 6 years! They are open on Saturdays, they have many stations, there is free parking! There is never a long wait and the cleaning is also done efficiently and well by friendly techs! From the same seat you can get your teeth cleaned, get digital x-rays and see instant results on the big monitor in each service pod, and even gargle and spit! Everyone there is super friendly and accommodating.

Positive experience: I’ve been coming to this office close to 20 years and this visit was a little different from previous ones. I have to say that I was not pleased with the new assistant that cleaned my teeth. She didn’t polish nor floss all of them and didn’t give me my next appointment. Hopefully she would have improved by my next visit. Pragna and Dr Treinkman are wonderful as always.

Dr. Treinkman is a classic old school doctor- high professionalism, sharp focus, ethics. All the options were explained to me, I could choose one of them, nothing was pushed on me, I did not feel anxious, my choice was accepted. The procedure was very smooth and quick. Customer service is terrible, don’t even ask for a manager to call you because you will never hear back from them. They’re quick to take your money but when it comes to getting a refund you have to call 100 times.

Fantastic experience: MVP dental office in Chicago hands down!! I called at 9am for an emergency root canal. They got me in a chair being worked on by 11:30am. Root canal and permanent crown completed before 3pm. They were totally swamped but still managed to squeeze me in. Now thats great customer service!! Saved me days of pain and I truly appreciate it. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: I've been going here for my dental needs for a couple of years, after trying a different place in the neighborhood that I didn't love. Had an implant done, now going for cleanings/checkups. Everyone is very friendly and it's a nice office. Dr. Gary is the best. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I overpaid quite a bit of money for my implant after insurance paid, and only heard about it the next time I went in 6 months later. I did get a refund check then.

This last check up was exactly that. I especially liked the little positive card the hygienist, Alex , put into my little bag with the complimentary toothpaste and floss the office gives ...a really sweet gesture. Fantastic experience: I had to have an emergency root canal so they got me in asap. Dr. Trinkman and his assistant are very good at what they do. The procedure was surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be and was done with very little pain thanks to Dr. Trinkmans great use of anesthesia‼️

Fantastic experience: Been going to East VIllage dental for over 15 years, I had an issue with my tooth they were able to take me in immediately and schedule me for a root canal. The staff has Always been professional, and their work has been on point, very happy.

Negative experience: I truly was hoping to love this place since I saw the great reviews and needed a good dental office in the city. I was told no less than 5 separate times by the front desk that my insurance was in-network with full confidence. Turns out after the fillings and x rays I got done, they were not in-network. It took 7 months to figure this out. I had to keep calling every month when I’d get sent a massive bill, they would tell me they’re going to contact my insurance since it’s in-network, then I would get another bill. I now have to pay nearly $600 out of pocket for fillings that chipped off within 2 months. Since this nightmare, I’ve unfortunately learned not to trust the front desk saying any place is in network (which had never happened to me in my entire life). Gotta love paying out of pocket for something you thought would be covered, that’s already broken and back to how it was before you went. I did receive a slight discount to help rectify the matter, but want to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I’d have never went here if I knew I would be out $600 and still have a chipped tooth. Who would.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to East Village Dental for years, I love love my dentist Dr Gary Treinkman and my dental hygienist Pragma D, both do an amazing job..I drive all the way from Plainfield, IL to the city to see them and it so worth the drive..they are so reasonable and very professional and they do a amazing job on my teeth ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ not five stars but five hearts. Fantastic experience: Great office. You can tell the group really reinvests in the business - every time I'm there I feel like there's a great new technology to advance patient care, like AI overlays on X rays or scanners that can "3D print" a same day crown. I appreciate that Dr Treinkman takes a very sensible approach to dentistry and is very comfortable watching and waiting on X ray abnormalities rather than immediate intervention, I never feel pressured there. I just got a cleaning from Alex that was really excellent and her communication throughout was very appreciated. Love the whole team!

Negative experience: Filled out all the registration information online, which is really nice to have it done before hand. Arrived on time for 9 AM appointment. Did not get taken to the back till 912. Sat in the chair until 9:40 AM. I gave up and walked out at 9:43am. No one ever addressed when someone was actually going to see me. Prior to my appointment I got two text messages stating that they have reserved the 9 AM slot specifically for me. Making it sound as if they don’t double triple and quadruple book. Clearly they overbook. The front office staff is so kind and I was really looking forward to having a new dentist that was walkable from my house. I’ll keep it moving and look for another one. I am beyond frustrated as I had to take PTO in order to arrive to an appointment on time just not to be seen completely disrespectful.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist I have ever been to! They got me in immediately for an urgent issue and sent me home pain-free. I had extreme anxiety after a bad experience and had not been to a dentist in years, and the entire staff was kind, helpful, and non-judgmental. Dr. Treinkman even had me laughing during a root canal! Highly recommend this practice for their outstanding care and quality of service.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Comforting staff members who reassure everything will be sorted out and high level practitioners. Came in for an extraction and left feeling better

Negative experience: Would advise to avoid this place at all costs. I called and made an appointment specifically for internal bleaching of my tooth. On the phone I was assured they do internal bleaching. As I arrived to my appoint the front desk staff were talking about how many shots they did the night prior. I again at the front desk made it known that I was only there to get internal bleaching of my tooth. Upon being taken back I was repeatedly asked to do other services such as cleaning, etc. I politely said no. The dentist then came back after 1 xray of my one tooth was taken, and proceeded to say he does not believe in internal bleaching and refused to do the service which I was assured they would do. He then proceeded to give me an estimate for a porcelain tooth replacement which would cost $2100. After the visit which they did nothing aside taking one xray of a single tooth they charged me $175. A complete rip off and scam of an establishment. Do not trust these reviews and please save your time and money by going somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: The staff is friendly and I love how the Dentist give you detailed information regarding your treatment plan. This was my first time visiting and definitely won’t be my last.
