Fantastic experience: If your looking for a very welcoming staff this is your place. I've had the privilege of being a patient for many years. The Dentists have so much compassion for their patients and always give me all my options before moving ahead. Dr Gilreath has created a very top tier practice. I want thank all staff for taking care of my recent emergency and fitting me in.

Negative experience: The front desk people are great, but the old male dentist was creepy with me petting me in creepy ways, and felt some type of way when my husband came in. And he filled my supposed cavities when I had gingivitis without proper cleaning and ever since then my teeth are in so much pain...so much I cry

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ponton is wonderful..great seat side manner, tells you everything he is doing and the assistants are wonderful. Love the girl that was helping the day I went in, just wish I would have caught her name. They fix a problem if you have it. I had dentures made and my original Dentist had moved out of state so he didn't get to see the end results which were about 6 or more months ago. Dr. Ponton took a look and didn't like what he saw so he is fixing the problem..God Bless him !!! Wonderful place if you dental work done...Thank you Goose Creek family dentistry.

Positive experience: It’s extremely sad for me to change my 5- star review of the last 10 years but it seems as the practice has grown, the quality of the service provided by some has declined. Dr Gilreath is an extraordinary dentist and person. Maryellen and Jerica have been incredible! They are wonderful people. However, our experience of recent months with Dana and other staff has caused us to leave, which is truly sad for us.

Fantastic experience: My son and I were new patients here today. My son is 1 and it was his first ever appointment and I’m happy I made the decision to come to this office it is absolutely amazing. All the staff was patient and kind and they did great with myself and with my son! Definitely found the office I will use for good!

He genuinely cares about my smile just as much as I do, and it truly shows in his work. What I appreciate most is how he always goes the extra mile to help me get the best results while spending as little as possible—something that means the world to me as a single mother on a tight budget. His kindness, honesty, and dedication are unmatched. I’m beyond grateful to have found such an amazing dentist!

Negative experience: Wasn't happy with my visit at all so I will most likely not be going back. I paid $250 just for them to hurt my tooth more not given any antibiotics or anything. For them to just tell me to keep taking the same over the counter medicine I been taking. They told my boss they do payment options and they really don't. I felt mislead that they do payment plans. They were more concerned on how much they were going to make, than being empathetic or caring. The lady that did my x rays got my head stuck which twisted my head in an unnatural way that made my tooth hurt even worse. Overall not a pleasant experience. Made an appointment at another facility.

Negative experience: Most of the staff are kind, but I had a somewhat poor experience recently. I’ve been going here for at least six years, but my most recent visit was the worst. My appointment was set for 8 am. En route to the office, I received a call at 7:54 from a staff member with no phone etiquette asking if I “know how far away I am.” The practice did not open until 8 am because it was Saturday. I got there, and the same woman assisted me in paying my co-pay. I used the wrong card and called my family member to establish what card I should use, but I was rushed through this process and rudely interrupted while I was on the phone. She eventually interrupted me again 4 minutes later to take me to the back after finally notifying me that I could take care of it after the appointment. She attempted to guide me there by touching my back. I’m not sure why she would do that or if that’s normal practice, but I can’t imagine every patient being comfortable with that. I went to the back for my procedure, and unfortunately, my experience did not improve. The dentist became confused about which tooth she would be working on, saying she counted my wisdom tooth in assessing which one needed the filling. She and the dental assistant then seemingly had some kind of issue with the water, taking longer to begin the procedure. Then, they complained about the filling being in a difficult spot and discussed other patients’ procedures later that day, saying they have a patient whose procedure with be on tooth 14 “at least it’s not on tooth 2 because [another one] would be a nightmare.” My procedure was on Tooth 2. Later, they went on to talk about how much they hate working on Saturdays. While I understand being fatigued from work, I find it extremely unprofessional to be discussing this as you’re working in a patient’s mouth after verbalizing confusion about what you’re working on. I’m looking forward to changing my primary dental provider.

Positive experience: I've been going here for years. I haven't had any prior issues until my appointment yesterday. My appointment was at 3 PM and I didn't leave until 4:44 PM. I sat in the dental chair for an hour and 44 minutes. This was just for a normal cleaning there were no other issues. I'm not sure what happened as this hasn't happened before, usually they are pretty quick. Since this is my first issue I'm going to keep my next appointment and see how that goes. If all goes well I will just chaulk it up to they had a bad day as I know that can sometime happens. Just wish there would have been better communication.

Fantastic experience: When I visited Dr G a couple of years ago I was having trouble with a previous implant from another dentist who did a good job with the time he had with me. I work in Wyoming and have limited time home. Dr G removed the implant and did a bone graft. He then installed three implants. It took awhile with my limited visits home but was a great success. I am know enjoying the implants that fit so well and look extremely good. Great work Dr G and your wonderful staff. I look forward to visiting on my next trip home

Negative experience: Review of Goose Creek Family Dentistry While Dr. Walker is an excellent dentist whose care I respect and appreciate, I must express my disappointment with the front office staff. My experience with the administrative team has been consistently frustrating. During our initial visit, after Dr. Walker created a treatment plan for my child, the scheduling process became unnecessarily complicated. I was working with one staff member who seemed helpful, when another employee abruptly interrupted our appointment scheduling and attempted to override Dr. Walker's treatment plan. She made incorrect claims about insurance coverage and repeatedly disrupted the doctor with unnecessary consultations, leaving the front desk multiple times. Scheduling follow-up appointments has been equally problematic. The staff attempts to be inflexible with timing, showing little willingness to accommodate our schedule. When I needed to reschedule due to illness (to avoid exposing others to sickness), I was met with condescension, interrogated about my symptoms, and threatened with an unspecified cancellation fee that they couldn't even quantify. Most concerning is the consistent rudeness and dismissive attitude from the front desk. When I called to reschedule, instead of acknowledging my voicemail, I received a curt "What do you need?" The staff member then tried to end our call without rescheduling the appointment I had called about. Dr. Walker deserves better representation than what this office staff provides. I recommend either significant customer service retraining or staffing changes. Unfortunately, despite Dr. Walker's excellent care, we'll be seeking a new dental practice with staff that treats patients with respect and understanding.

Negative experience: I called them a few days after I was there to have my teeth looked at for having a crown replacement and said I needed an appointment cause a filling came out. I made it clear it had nothing to do with crown. So they gave me the appt. I come in they say they are gonna have to X-ray all my teeth one at a time I said no I'm here for a filling that came out one tooth not all of them. They said I had to have all the X-rays for them to do it but not to worry my insurance covers it all. I said ok. So after thirty minutes of biting on the cold steel thing they kept moving around it chip the tooth I was there to get filled. Then after the X-rays which were off the charts uncomfortable I had to sit there for 45 minutes then a doctor finally comes in and says I'll have to reschedule cause per ipus patient took so long. To begin with they called me and said I could come in an hour earlier cause they had a cancellation. I came in and hour early and had to wait 45 minutes and then they wouldn't fill it said I had to come back. At this point I was exploding inside. I kept it in knowing I wasn't going back. Two weeks later they send me a bill for 171 saying this is my share. Horrible experience. I called them today asked to speak w office manager and gave her my story and she said she would get the office manager and I said I asked for the office manager who are you. Her exact words were she was not going to stand for this disrespect and put me on hold. After 5 to 10 minutes I hung up. I guess I should sue them if they send me another bill.The x rays which took 30 to 45 minutes were torture. There was no cushion on the part they put in your mouth it kept slipping and the tech kept telling me to bite bite down finally the tooth I came in to have refilled chipped a part off it.i knew right then I was in the wrong place. It was a nightmarish experience for a 75 yr old.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked everyone was SO incredibly sweet. Gracie (I think that’s her name) was super talkative and kind. The Dr and lady that did my gums (Kim?) were also fantastic. Very thorough and explained everything. It was my first visit and even the check out woman was so personable and nice!

Fantastic experience: Hands down best dental practice I've ever been to. I wasn't pushed into getting more work done. I had 1 major issue with a tooth, got it extracted then had a bone grate, got it stitched up also. Dr. Ponton has hands like a gentle angel, soft spoken, and He talked me thru everything, kept making sure I was comfortable. His assistant Ivy was so sweet, and explained everything to me from the start, and helped ease my mind as shots hurt. I hardly felt anything, he was so gentle. The staff up front were all very friendly and helpful! If you want a wonderful experience see Dr. Ponton! Thank you all so much again for all you did for me! Went back again today7/16, I woke up in severe pain, Brittany worked me in, saw Dr. Ponton again, had to get a root canal, and I didnt feel any pain. Worked me in for my convenience and Ai really appreciate everything yall did for me!!

They take time to explain everything clearly and make sure you’re comfortable throughout your visit. Positive experience: The dental tech and doctor were very nice with both my 11yr old and myself. Their downsides are the rooms are not family friendly b/c there is nowhere to sit and the dental rooms are all jammed together, so you hear everything happening in every room.

Negative experience: STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!! This is literally the worst dentist experience I have ever had! First, they're 30 minutes late to bring me in for my appointment. I had 3 different people introduce themselves as the person who would be taking care of me before leaving, never to be seen again. The doctor finally came in and, instead of doing work, decided it was better to pat me on the shoulder and tell me weird stories like I was his grandson. I had an issue in my mouth, and it took 4 people looking at me, including the doctor, to come up with a conclusion. I had a painful mouth sore, and the doctors words were, "Well, if it continues to be extremely painful for 2 more weeks, then I'll give you something to make it heal." I explained how I could barely eat as he walked away, not at all paying attention to what I had said. Thankfully, one of two competent people in the building overheard me and scolded the doctor for ignoring me completely. Ooooh, the X-rays.... yes, the girl, giving those, only 2nd to introduce and disappear this time. She DROPPED THE THING ON THE FLOOR AND THEN WENT TO PUT IT IN MY MOUTH!!!!!!! Don't worry. It didn't happen because I wouldn't let it. Then she obviously had no idea how to run any of the machines. Next the polisher (first girl to introduce herself) she was very pleasant but seemed like a college student working on her first patient EVER. She sprayed me with the hose numerous times and was very rough with the tools. Midway into the the doctor comes back with a prescription and proceeds to explain this to me in a conversational manner WHILE THE GIRL HAS HER HANDS IN MY MOUTH. He sets the paper on my chest and gives me another creepy pat, irritated at the fact I'm not responding to him before disappearing(thank god). Finally, the main cleaning lady comes in.... the best employee this place has i might add. She should open her own place. Knowledgeable, polite, professional, and some of the calmest hands I've ever dealt with from a dentist.. she was great. If i could go straight to her and never deal with anyone else even for a second...id come back honestly. But good lord this place was awful!!!

Negative experience: I was terribly disappointed because the clerk made a mistake that I have to pay for. Verifying the insurance and setting up the appointment was done by them. After partial dentures we done, found out my insurance wasn't in there network. Now I'm having to deal with a partial too big and turning colors on the bottom. I will be looking elsewhere.

When u let them know your in pain they don't care after having my tooth pull I was numb for almost 8 hrs afterwards they messed up my nerves.. second incident left from work I'm so much pain the dr said he couldn't pull it was infected but said to come back tomorrow for root canal all they care about is money I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND RECOMMEND NO ONE WHO IS DECENT TO GO EITHER

Negative experience: Used to come here a lot but stopped after I was charged 400 dollars out of pocket for a crown all because they forgot to run my insurance before the procedure. Felt very uncomfortable and sort of trapped because the lady refused to let me leave until I paid 95 dollars and got on a payment plan. Also not kid friendly either.

Positive experience: Overall, my experience was great. Majority of the staff were wonderful. Kelly was very nice and Dr. Ponton as well. However, the staff should be more conscious of how small the office is and that clients can hear you talk. I was honest with the staff on how long it had been since my last cleaning. The lady that cleaned my teeth (I believe her name was Kim) before she came into the room, I heard her say “I’m not touching her.” “It’s been 10 years!” She then proceeded to sit down and clean my teeth without a word. Over time she was nice and seemed to “lighten up”. But I just found this off putting and shameful. Judgement like this can cause people not to come back. If the other staff wasn’t so nice, I wouldn’t be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Mary Ellen was instrumental in getting me scheduled for an urgent appointment. She along with the office staff always exhibit both professionalism and courtesy. Dr. Walker worked me in the same day, taking care of the problem. He has a calming way about him and he is both gentle and meticulous during his procedures.

Fantastic experience: Found out this week my dentist retired recently. I had no prior notice even though I had my teeth cleaned there last year. I contacted Goose Creek Family Dentistry, and they scheduled me to come in that same afternoon. Everyone was so kind and pleasant. Both the DMD and Dental hygenist were very thorough and explained everything they were doing during the exam. Happy with my new dentistry team!

Fantastic experience: I was seen before my appointment time and my cleaning was done in a timely manner. She was professional and explained everything as before she did.

Negative experience: This dentistry office has multiple issues. To start, on my first visit they gave me an overall treatment plan and recommended $30K+ worth work for me. They don't take any form of payment plan other than care credit, which requires credit checks and impacts your credit score. They don't offer discounts, the only concession is that they will take 7% off the bill if you pay with a credit card. Recently, I went in for a cleaning, got charged for a cleaning, and didn't receive a cleaning because they wanted me to come in for a "Deep Clean" first, which costs $1500, and requires an additional visit afterwards for a regular cleaning, which is another charge, even though I already paid for a cleaning which I didn't receive. I have received passive aggressive texts from them claiming my health was in danger when over a year went by between my appointments. I went in today for a dental emergency, was charged $150, and given an estimate for nearly $3000 "if I wanted to save my tooth". I was also told the work couldn't be performed today and was sent on my way, with a recommendation to take some Advil and Tylenol until I could see a dentist who could actually fix my issue. When asked if anything could be done on the price today they basically told me to pound sand and to apply for care credit and that they don't do payment plans because "lots of people don't pay". They also communicate quite poorly, when I went in recently for a cleaning, I was told that they "recommend" the work that they prescribed but that some of it wasn't necessary, that I should do some of the perscribed work but didn't have to if I didn't want to, the dentists there do not carry much authority, communicate clearly, or speak with much confidence. It is evident that these guys see certain patients as their personal piggy banks. After today's visit I will be looking for a different dental firm in the future and would recommend anyone who reads this and is considering goose Creek family dentistry as their future dentist does the same.

No matter what I've had done from cleaning, fill-ins, extractions and crown I always leave with no pain or complications. They are a great caring staff.

Negative experience: I originally posted a one star review when this all happened but was asked to take it down. I got a root canal from goose creek family dentistry 2 or 3 years ago. When I got the root canal I was not informed that the crown was not covered by insurance and I’d have to pay out of pocket. I was told after the procedure was already done. Today, I have glued the temporary tooth in my mouth because I couldn’t afford the permanent crown. The tooth bleeds a lot when flossing and still has pain, despite the root canal supposedly removing all of the nerves. Be aware that this dentistry is slimey and only cares about money.

Fantastic experience: One of THE nicest dentist places I've ever been to. SUPER relaxing, and I was in and out pretty darn quickly! Super helpful! Will definitely be keeping as my dentist. First time they got me to laugh, and hum along with their music videos during my appointment. Highly recommend coming to see them.

Fantastic experience: My experience today was absolutely amazing!!!! I was scared to death since my very first time getting a tooth pulled with no sedation well let me tell you the lady dr.that did it was phenomenal to me ..she made triple sure it was completely numb and walked me thru everything the staff was truly amazing as well couldn't have asked for better service..I will be a permanent patient of there's for sure ...I highly recommend them to anyone that has anxiety going to a dentist...I never thought I would say this but I love my dentist!!!!!

Fantastic experience: By far the best experience I’ve ever had at the dentist! I had to have a broken tooth removed and they made the process so comfortable and being an out of pocket customer, the cost was very affordable! The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Definitely found my dentist!

Fantastic experience: I’v been to this Dentist office a few times and each time every one treats you with respect and kindness. Their staff is always very Professional. I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone. Dr.A Ponton was fantastic, he explained exactly what needed to be done with my Teeth.& I’m thrilled with how it turned out.
