Fantastic experience: The Invisalign experience at Lake Joy Dental has been wonderful!

Fantastic experience: We are new from the area and I was so glad to get in right away. Receptionists were pleasant, also the assistant and temp dentist. We have a long way before my procedure is finished.

Fantastic experience: I just had a wonderful experience at Joy Lake Dental Care ! Wonderful hygienist, my teeth are sooo clean. A fabulous dentist, he made my broken front tooth look like the original and removed a tooth without pain , I loved him ! The dental assistant was also wonderful and knew her stuff ! And don’t let me forget the office help , very important link and so friendly and good at their jobs ! I’ll be back !!!!

Fantastic experience: Been going here for a little over 2 years now, Leslie is the best. Even with a stacked schedule they always try to accommodate your schedule and whatever it is you have going on.

Negative experience: This was the best dental provider until now. This is the second time I made an appointment months in advance to be called a few days before the appoint to be reschedule. This time hits differently because I made it known it was an urgent appointment. I confirmed that I will make my appointment, then receive a call a few hours later to be told I have to reschedule and it will be over a month away. I thought this was a practice that value their customers. Cancellations due to the provider should be reschedule immediately and not a month or so away.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here for several years. Everyone is always friendly and efficient. I haven’t had a bad experience.

Negative experience: The ladies working here are nothing but nice. However, they refused to give me a standard cleaning and tried to convince me that I needed a $1200 “deep cleaning.” With my insurance, it should have only been $25 out the door. Their exams took one hour before the cleaning even was discussed. One the phone they said I’d be in and out in an hour with my teeth cleaned. I feel bait and switched and would recommend that you think twice before coming here!

Negative experience: The staff was nice and friendly but I left in pain and unsatisfied. I was complaining that was right side of my mouth was hurting and throbbing. I was told to take ibuprofen and salt water rinse but there was a hole in the back of my teeth that was infected. I had to go to urgent care because it was unbearable.

Positive experience: The staff was very professional and courteous. My only complaint is that it is always a bit cold in the waiting and exam rooms.

Fantastic experience: My further teeth analysis seem to be professional and friendly. I'll let you know after all the procedures have been done. My worst fear is dental pain performed. I cannot take Novocaine! Next visit I will ask if anesthesia to knock me out is included. I'll let you know. Mark

Negative experience: After being with this practice from the beginning, without warning or notification, they decided our Met-Life insurance is no longer “in network”. This resulted in an extra $1000 charge for treatment. Horrible way to treat long term patients and very bad business practice. I would give zero stars if it was an option.

Negative experience: They told my husband he needs a crown on his tooth. He was only in the office to get a cavity filled. When he did not get the crown in order to get a second opinion, the dentist put a filling in and then proceeded to remove that same filing while he was in office. He was only in the office that morning for the filing. He did not know it until the next day when his feeling returned in his mouth. He realized he had a small whole in his tooth and no filing. This is considered insurance fraud as he had BCBS at the time, which they billed and paid for something that got removed unknowingly to him. He got a new dentist and they immediately filled that area with a filing again. He found out his mouth is in fact too small for a crown. They are trying to do unnecessary dental procedures to bill the insurance .Stay far away from this dental office. They are not ethical. The new dentist put in a complaint to them, so BCBS should get the payment back and pay for the procedure that was actually performed. This is extremely against dental practices ethics. Be ware of this dental office.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service from their receptionist team. Doesn't matter if your inquiry is for billing or scheduling, good luck getting the help you need.

Positive experience: Disappointed to learn that due to Dr. Bentley’s departure, the new Dentist(s) were not in my insurance network and a $60 copay would now be required. Previously never had a copay in the 5 years going to this practice. I feel a courtesy heads up could have been provided to patients prior to arriving for treatment. The hygienist care received by Crystal was outstanding in all regards. She is friendly, patient, and a true professional.

Negative experience: Rec'd a phone call this AM to confirm my appt for 7/24/25. This appt was set up approx 8/24. At the time I was told not to worry bc there are always cancellations & they would get me in before end-of-yr. The excuse was that they were busy with kids going back to school & still catching up from the pandemic. I kept looking & found a dentist that was not on a major thorofare & had an appt within 2 weeks. Lake Joy could be a good place but I'll never know bc they apparently didn't want a new pt. Didn't bother to cx my appt, figured I'd do it when the confirmation call came, almost a yr later. NO provider is this busy & shouldn't have to put up with this. Have they done this to other people??? Keep looking for the right provider. The dentist I found is great so it was worth NOT going to Lake Joy & I will always tell anyone who asks how I was treated & ignored.

Positive experience: Everything was great. I just didn't have my normal dental hygienist that I've had the last two times... When I rescheduled this back in January or February they bumped it out to July because that was the only time she was available and I still didn't get her... Other than that everything is fine

Fantastic experience: I love this office, I've been a patient since the sisters opened. When my insurance changed, I paid out of pocket for a year because I liked the office so much and didn't want to change dentists. The staff is so friendly. Shy called me and told me there was an ortho opening. I was not really going to get invisalign about 25% sure (actually looking for a reason to back out). She was so nice and to top it off the price was way less than I expected. I'm set to get my trays in 3 weeks.

Negative experience: Do not use this dental clinic!!! They failed to file insurance correctly for 2 years and then 4 years after told me u had to pay the bill. It should have been completely covered per them and our insurance. Bill is almost $2,000 for 3 members of my 4 member family. They filed one if correctly during the same period. They didn’t do their job right as the office manager agreed and still said well you still have to pay this bill. DO NOT USE THEM, or file your own insurance!

Fantastic experience: Right before the Christmas holiday I broke my tooth and I was devastated . I chose a dentist out of the directory of dentists from my provider.. this was the first one I called and the receptionist was amazing!! She said she had an opening. I was so blessed she said they were not taking new patients and I was in luck an answered prayer one hour after I broke my tooth! I got an appointment for the next day!! They repaired my broke tooth !! Put a temporary crown . Again My prayers were answered everyone in that office is professional and compassionate not to mention great personalities!! Please excuse my lack of remembering everyone’s name. Dr Bentley was amazing she made sure I was well taken care of and her professionalism was the best. She took care of my broken tooth so I could eat my momma’s Italian Christmas food!! The great lady that made and fitted my crown was fabulous! I am speechless. Especially in this day and age to be treated with the upmost care was so loving and refreshing! I just can not say enough. I had tears of joy ! Then after all that my car died, Johnathan (the finance manager)came out and took time to jump start my car!! Lake Joy Dental care are the best!! Although this review was 2 years ago. I still receive the upmost care. I highly recommend Lake Joy Dental care!

Fantastic experience: Recently moved to Warner Robins and went there for the first time today & they are amazing!! They were able to get me in sooner than my original appt. as a new patient due to a cancelation. I just love Donna & Dr. Stacie!!! Very knowledgeable, friendly & caring. They gave me so much information that no other dentist facility ever gave me. The front office is great too & went over my insurance and explained everything. I am so happy I found them! Highly recommend :) Almost 3 years later & I'm still very happy having them taking care of my dental needs. Kristina was my hygienist & is wonderful!!

Negative experience: The curse of good credit is when you are unfairly billed,and people refuse to do the right thing. You end up being forced to pay something because your credit is worth more than the bill. (usually) First let me say that the people here are ok, and do fair work. My complaint is the process. I went in for a simple cleaning. They did their thing, suggested I needed a deep cleaning. Ok, only if my insurance pays for it and its something I need, knock yourself out. I pay my part at the office, thank you have a good day. Sometime later, I get a bill for almost 700.00!!! What the heck??? I called to see what happened and the answer was your insurance didn't pay so now you owe us. What??? I said several times only if the insurance pays! This was strung along for awhile with probabilities of a possible refund but 6 weeks roughly later, no refund and btw we want the other 60.00 dollars you haven't paid yet. So to make probably a bad analogy or example, you go in to get your oil change, I tell you you need a water pump and a coolant flush but don't worry your warranty will pay for it. Well, ok if it needs it and the warranty pays,why wouldn't you have it done??? When I'm done I come back tell you I'm sorry it wasn't covered and now you owe me 700.00. I think you'd feel cheated and it doesn't matter how much I smiled while I cheated you. This in a nutshell of sorts was my experience here. My suggestion is don't trust anything they say. If they tell you need something, you better go home call your insurance and make sure the insurance will pay. Then if you decide to go through all that and have your work done there, I'm sure they'll do an ok job. If you don't check your insurance, don't be surprised if you later get a bill for umteen hundred dollars with an apology insurance didn't pay but you must. This is fair warning!! *I did call and waited over several weeks and went in once to talk with office personnel. I got nowhere. I hate this place. I don't trust dentist anymore and if my teeth fall out. So be it. If you'd like to return what you stole from me I'll remove this review.

Negative experience: 60 mile round trip to be told I didn't have an appointment. Gave front desk my paperwork for online booking and was told "it must have been given to someone else. First come. first served" I only get treated like this once. Requested my records, and signed up with a new dentist within the hour.

Negative experience: My recent experience resulted in a highly traumatic and painful extraction, necessitating an immediate emergency room visit. Despite reporting significant discomfort during the procedure, which indicated insufficient local anesthesia in which the shots were painful. Post-operatively, the prescribed pain management was inadequate. Furthermore, I was informed that the pre-operative antibiotics were ineffective due to the existing infection, a factor that was not adequately addressed prior to the procedure. I was told it would be a little uncomfortable because of the infection and a part she couldnt get to. This experience was exceptionally distressing and resulted in considerable pain and suffering. It breaks me down to tears when I talk about it. Then she referred me out for the rest of my dental work in which I'm fine with.

Positive experience: My appointment was for Wednesday. Due to changes in my schedule, I had to cancel that appointment and remake another one. On my first attempt the person I was talking to hung up prematurely. On my second attempt I was told there wasn’t an alternate appointment for three months. The third time I called a very nice lady made my appointment for Friday.

Fantastic experience: I was having a filling replaced on the top two teeth in the center of my smile. This was originally done about 20 years ago. The shot and procedure hurt like heck! I have really been putting this off. They did a Fabulous job and basically pain free!

But Shy has proven to be the exception. You need more employees like Shy. I can't leave out my dental care team, I can't remember my clinician's name, but she is Top notch, very friendly, and professional. I think I found my new dental care home.

Fantastic experience: Lake Joy dental care is a phenomenal dental provider. I had the absolute best experience there over other providers in the area. The staff are warm and welcoming starting with the receptionist, to my dental hygienist Christina, and doctors, I was impressed. Lake Joy Dental Care is a brand with ethical intentions. They are not going to force a bunch of unnecessary procedures on you. I have found my person dentistry service, Lake Joy Dental Care. One con though, I had to wait a very long time to get my initial appointment but now that I had my visit, it was well worth it the wait.

Positive experience: Have had good service/cleanings/dental work in the past and yesterday. Only complaint was NOT yesterday but the last time that I had x-rays-they really hurt. A different woman did it. Leslie is really good and it didn't hurt yesterday.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff, especially if you have "dentist anxiety"! I called with a dental emergency in the late afternoon right before the office closed, and they were able to get me in first thing the next morning as a new patient. They took excellent care of me, were beyond friendly and professional, and put me completely at ease. They are truly on another level with their kind and knowledgeable staff, and I will never dread going to the dentist again.

Fantastic experience: Update October 30, 2024 … I am impressed with the Lake Joy Dental team even more than before, tho that was hard to beat. In dealing with kerfuffles in replacing my aging crown, they persevered through everything with technical expertise and compassionate ways, resulting in exactly what I needed. I am so thankful to them and look forward to many years ahead. Original… When I first changed to LJD to have insurance PPO in town without driving to Macon, I was blown away by the service. Jaw-dropping friendly, gracious, thorough, professional, encouraging service from entrance to exit. No-surprises transparency with treatment billing plan, and efficient adjustment possible from home when needed. HIGHEST recommendation! Then and now that we’ve weathered more time and faced more of life’s issues… I continue with my top recommendation here. Covering all aspects of care with personalized attention and new technology not seen at any of my other providers. ALWAYS gracious, professional, and encouraging throughout their staff. Looking forward to the next 10 years!

Fantastic experience: Kristina was absolutely amazing! She was very patient with my 4 year old and made sure he was comfortable and happy the whole time. She also took the time to answer any of my questions and explain processes I didn’t understand. Highly recommend!!

Negative experience: I waited about 3 or 4 months for an appointment. To get to my appointment, wait to be seen, get X-ray sent to room 6 and then be told I was only scheduled for limited consultation and that it would be an out of pocket expense. That should have been told to me over the phone regardless of was a desk associate or call center. I get to the desk after leaving the room 6, and was told I could not get a full comprehensive exam that I thought I was getting today until October 2025. I told them to take me out their system and I would have never be back. Regardless if I spoke to call center associate or desk associate , I should have been properly informed on what I was being scheduled for. It was a waste of my time and theirs. I would never recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: Awful experience with dentist, left without treatment UPDATE: 10/16/2024: I got this procedure done at Byron Family Dental with ZERO pain from the shot. In addition, I've tried to get my X-ray records 3 times and they have not sent them to the oral surgeon, new dentist, or me. Need I remind them I paid for them and it's my right to have my medical files. They have been very difficult (even before I left) and have only provided a scanned photo copy. It also turns out my parents used to go here and left for different reasons. I HIGHLY recommend looking at other dentists in the area. ___________________ 10/10/2024: This is a new dental office for me. A few weeks before this appointment I had a great experience with the dental hygienist and the tech. This time, I went in for a filling and it was the worst in-office experience I've ever had. Immediately after getting there, the dentist puts the numbing agent on my mouth for a few seconds and then immediately gives me a shot. There was zero time for the topical numbing agent to kick in and the shot was so painful I asked her to stop. She didn't and told me "stop moving I have something sharp in my hand". The messed up part is she didn't even tell me she was giving me a shot. I have had a tooth removed, fillings, and root canal previously on the other side of my mouth in the exact same spot and never experienced near as much pain with any shot before. The dentist seemed self serving and like she does not care about patients or if they are hurting them. I considered leaving before she came back. 50 minutes go by and I tell the tech I wanted to talk to someone and get a different dentist for next time at least. The office manager came back and tried to cover for the dentist. I told her I understood her job was to legally protect staff and the reputation of the business, but I did not feel like her dentist did her job correctly in that instance. The office manager came back and said they wouldn't work on my teeth now lol. Funny how they tried to turn it around. Anyway, try another dental office because apparently Dr Tran is the main dentist there, or try to get in with the other dentist. Good luck.

Negative experience: Rudest staff up front ever! I left 3 messages for the dentist’s father to return my call. I’m sure he never got my messages from the rude staff! I would never recommend anyone to this place!

Fantastic experience: I have never been at this facility before, but I will most definitely be returning. The waiting area is very clean. The atmosphere is amazing. Their workers were very friendly and encouraging. I got scheduled and set up in no time! 10/10 Excellent service!

Fantastic experience: I understand from a staff member that it is not standard practice to check if a referred provider is in our network (which is different from my previous dentist) so I would suggest a sign in the waiting room stating this fact and a verbal reminder when handing a patient the referral. Also, I was informed (after the fact) that the referral could be used with a doctor other than the one named. Maybe that could be stated when the patient is handed the referral as well. Other than this misunderstanding, I was very pleased with the work done.

Negative experience: Lake Joy Dental Care has been my favorite of the dentist I have been to in the last few years, This year was the exception. I had the worst experience I have ever had getting my teeth cleaned. I have never experienced the pain I endured this trip. i INFORMED THE LADY WORKING ON MY TEETH BUT SHE CONTINUED UNTIL I ASK HER TO STOP A different lady came in to see me out, A very bad experience! A few days later I got a letter informing me they wouldn't be able to work with me anymore. Also they informed me they could recommend another dentist. I am fully capable of finding another dentist.

Fantastic experience: My first patient experience was great starting from reception, then Mesha was excellent, compassionate, and gentle when doing x-rays. Very personable and friendly, too. Dr. Christa Tran was quick and thorough. Very impressed with this office!

Negative experience: This review is specifically for those with dental anxiety and emotionally traumatic experiences at dentists. I searched pretty hard to find a dentist that would be accommodating and would allow me to feel I was retaining some body autonomy in submitting myself to their care. Initially, this dentist seemed like they might fit the bill. Now, please keep in mind (I want to make this abundantly clear) they are obviously a well-loved dental office if you don’t have past trauma - see other reviewers. This was my experience and my struggles, but I do feel it may benefit others in my situation. Upon arriving, the gentleman checking us in was nice. But I entered my preferred name on each and every page of their paperwork, and was still called my full legal name (which I was almost never called in my life, except by the traumatizing dentists of my childhood). Immediately, I started feeling uneasy. It made me feel that they wouldn’t take particular care for what my preferences or needs were. My husband also had an appointment and they would not allow me to come with him. I knew then I’d need to cancel, because I wasn’t willing to go back by myself without him. They began to say they could see what might be done, but I no longer felt safe in the environment. I cancelled and left. I don’t leave this review to damage the reputation of this office, because I recognize they are a locally-beloved office by most. I am leaving this review for those who have extreme dental anxiety like myself to save someone (and the dental office) the struggle of this situation arising again. Had someone else left a review like this before, I’d have known this wasn’t the right environment for me or someone with my specific struggles. One thing for anyone to consider: we arrived at 8:30 and didn’t leave (for my husband’s appointment only) until after 10:30. As an update, I did return to see if I might find out where my husband was in the process (like I’ve said, after 2 hours), and the man at the front desk didn’t seem very pleased with me. He didn’t acknowledge my standing there after I initially asked and was doing paperwork. I asked if he needed to finish some things and he said yes. But didn’t let me know if he would help me or not. Eventually, my husband just wound up texting me back. I hope this can help.

Negative experience: I usually have great experiences at lake joy dental. I had a front tooth replace and it’s enormous compared to all others, tooth is in pain and cant chew or connect back teeth naturally This review was over two months ago, and I’m still stuck with this humongous tooth and I have had 3 different appointment's and they have not resolved the issue. They don even know when they can fix the issue. I’ve called and called the last appointment was canceled by them, and they can’t even tell me when my next appointment will be. So I guess I’ll be walking around with a mask over my mouth and it’s not due to Covid.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding service! I was a new patient; Called on a Tuesday was seen on Friday. Waiting room wait about 2-minutes and “emergency issue” was taken care of. I have had A LOT of dental work over the years and this visit was one, if not the best, experience I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Lake Joy Dental Care!!!

Fantastic experience: Greetings and happy personnel , the reception was with fast efficient information of Humana insurance’s service and delivery to myself and lake Joy Dental Care. Paperwork easy and clearly defined by receptionist. Wait was short before seeing dental assistant. The dental assistant made me comfortable with all services which she thoroughly explained from X-rays to final treatment performed. She was competent, knowledgeable, and helpful. She performed dental treatment explaining how, what , and important information I needed to know. The dentist never greeted me, only spoke to dental assistant and behaved if I was an animal in a clinic. She was in the room every bit of 2-3 minutes! After the treatment assessment, the assistant dazzled me with her knowledge , treated my gums, and gifted me with an oral package. Office attendant scheduled next appointment. She was polite, courteous, friendly, and helpful in scheduling appointments for me. I didn’t give the dentist a star. These are for all other professionals who assisted me and the cleanliness of entire environment!!!
