Konikoff Dental Associates Harbour View

Negative experience: I do not recommend this dental clinic to anyone. The staff is very disorganized and inconsiderate. They do not adequately follow up on previously agreed-upon treatments. This is mainly due to their lack of customer service, which results in them missing important patient information. Their operating system is dysfunctional and irresponsible. This has been the WORST EVER experience and the WORT dental clinic service I have ever visited. I've been working with this clinic for about 6 months and it's been a disaster.

Fantastic experience: The service was extremely courteous the x-ray technician the hygienist and dentist. We’re all very thorough and respectful of my time and everything was explained to me to my full satisfaction. This is truly a wonderful office.

Fantastic experience: I had never been seen by Dr. Griffith or anyone in this practice. It was an emergency situation due to a toothache all Mother’s Day weekend. I called on Monday got an appointment on Tuesday. The staff and Dr. Griffith was excellent. They were kind understanding, sympathetic, and knowledgeable. From the moment I was greeted and checked in until the time that I was able to check out everyone that I encountered were caring and professional ! I absolutely hate going to the dentist, but have scheduled an appointment for cleaning and maintenance and have every intention of staying with Dr. Griffith, until the day I die! What a wonderful team to work with! So glad I found them!

Negative experience: Simply put they are understaffed and it is hard to get appointments and when you do get them, they are canceled. A normal dentist and hygienist service when you can be scene but nothing special. I just move to Suffolk about 2 years ago and I never had these issues at the Lynnhaven office and I went to that office for years

Fantastic experience: Scheduling was simple, with helpful reminders and forms sent ahead of the appointment. The receptionist and other staff were friendly and kind. Most importantly, Dr. Abbas was very patient. He didn’t rush in and out; he took time to listen and to explain a dental plan to me clearly. I was impressed and encouraged by his bedside manner, and left the office feeling very confident in having found Konikoff Dental Associates.

May 2nd an end of a long pleasant journey. Dr Abbass and his team are fantastic, caring and professional. Always concerned about my comfort. Seen within 3 days of calling with a dental issue. Dr Abbass and team are always caa ring and professional. August 22 2025 starts new dental saga. Have complete trust in Dr Abass .

Fantastic experience: As of September 22, 2025, I am still pleased with the entire Harbour View Konikoff dental staff. They are always friendly and professional. Patients are treated very well. Today I had my cleaning and everything went very well and my crowns feel still like my normal teeth. Dr. Sweeting came in for a brief consultation on something that showed up on my x-ray update and we discussed the next steps needed. Now I'm waiting for our next step which will be. I love the dentist and staff. Thank you for a pain free experience.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible service from the new Finance/Treatment Coordinator Lauren Fletcher at the Harbour View location. Whatever her title is, she is RUDE, PUSHY, completely unprofessional and I will never use this office again. I am working on formal complaints with other avenues as well.

Fantastic experience: It was awesome. I loved the office the minute I walked in. Also the staff was awesome. From the hygienist Crystal to the dentist Dr. Sweeting. Also the financial consultant KE was so thorough and she explained everything to me so I understood. Even offered a treatment plan. Everything was wonderful. I will definitely be giving them 5 stars.

Negative experience: The two stars I’m giving is for the good service when I was actually seen. This summer they called to cancel my appointment the day before because the hygienist would be out. When I called to reschedule, the next cleaning available was in May of next year. As a current patient, it’s ridiculous to not be able to be seen sooner than nine months away. It is unethical and unprofessional to still be accepting patients when they cannot take care of their current ones at the rate recommended.

Fantastic experience: Dr Griffith is a true professional whose focus is truly on the best of care for her patient. She is open and honest about what you as a patient is facing as an issue and best approach. Your health is her first priority. She follows through on everything concerning her patient and reviews anything and everything her assistant does concerning her patients. For me, dental care has always been a priority but I rely on them to educate me on my visits, so I continue to stay on top of the best care for myself. I appreciate having an exceptional dentist.

Negative experience: Not friendly. First visit, I’m pregnant and the assistant was short and rude when I asked questions as if I should just immediately trust this random person without gathering the proper information. She was very unprofessional and put a bad taste in my mouth for the remainder of the visit. Canceled my next appointment and was able to go somewhere else. Also, my husband goes here as well and the last visit he had they hit a nerve when numbing him. This left him in pain for days and now after two unforgettable experiences, we both will no longer be attending.

Negative experience: Disappointing visit. A cleaning shouldn’t take 90 minutes. But waiting for the dentist to look at my teeth at the end for 2 minutes, as well as waiting 15 minutes to check out is ridiculous. This office hasn’t been the same since the pandemic, and is at its worst with staffing. The upselling is also getting out of hand.

Positive experience: I had my routine cleaning friday and as usual my hygienist Cristina is the best, then I had my crown procedure today and Dr. Griffit was the best and her assistant sorry can’t remember her name, they both made me feel comfortable and cared how I was feeling, really every one is so nice and professional from the front desk to the billing area. Negative experience: Useless. If you have a concern with billing you might as well show up because they refuse to answer calls or emails. Attempted 27 times before someone called me back. I give up on fighting there shotty customer service.

Negative experience: Dr. was not interested in my dental needs. Made excuses for not even correcting bite issue. Was only interested in doing major things like implants. So disappointed in this practice. Dr. Abbas such a let down!

Fantastic experience: 2025 Update: this practice has listened! They are so much more kindly and supportive. I appreciate a business that listens. Today's cleaning went very well. Past review: They are ok. They have terrible hours for working people. The staff mostly seems a bit rushed or bothered— one wonders if they have a sales quota. They also seem understaffed. They cancel appointments that take months to reschedule. Sometimes not much warmth about the experience (which I have anxiety issues about in general anyway) but overall tolerable. The room I had a cleaning in has a cartoon mural of a bizarre wreck of cars with faces-- ugh and ugly. An extraction done yesterday went well: no pain so far and healing nicely. That room had nice sunset pics. The dental assistant was cheerful and kind and doc was nice and seemed competent. However, I left unclear on when/if I was to fill antibiotics ’script so will have to call today as it wasn’t written down.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed in my hygienist. I had informed her that i had an upcoming appt. with my periodontist so she did a rush job on my cleansing. She even told me that she was just going to do a surface cleansing because I had an upcoming appointment with my periodontist. Normally, past visits, my hygienist did as much as they could to remove what they could from the gum line. She didn't even come close to it. Instead she did a spray cleansing to remove tartar, instead of scraping. Very disappointed in my cleansing today.

Fantastic experience: I am really thrilled about my experience with Dr. Abbas. Very patient and knowledgeable. Probably one of my best experiences I’ve had. His dental assistant was really great and able to assist Dr. Abbas. I had 6 lower teeth prepped for crowns all in about 2.5-3.0 hours. Making sure I didn’t feel the drilling and removing cavities as well as a permanent retainer I have had for 20+ yrs. I would recommend Konikoff dental, and highly recommend Dr.Abbas at their Suffolk location.

Recently, I had an issue with a broken fixed retainer. They scheduled me that day and Dr. Aboss fixed the problem. It is a great dental team.

Negative experience: Took off work to get a cleaning, all to not receive my cleaning and being told to come back the next day for a deep cleaning which I had already gotten done. Taking off of work and not receive service is a bit much. On top of Carla talking about her personal life to others in the office, and making gestures that were unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: I only have one small complaint - I show up 20 or so minutes before my appointment. While I am waiting then two to three other people show up for there appointments. They then get called prior to me and when I am called it is well after my appointment time. This has happend the last three visits I have had with Konikoff. It is not really a problem it is just a bit of an irritant. Otherwise Konikoff deserves the 5 star rating have given above.

Fantastic experience: My family and I used this dental clinic when we moved to Virginia in 2014 and until 2023. We had to switch a couple of years because my dental insurance changed. I am sooo happy I got new coverage and we’re back at Konikolf. I am never leaving them again.

Negative experience: 2 times in a row I have had my appointment which was scheduled for months canceled within 2 weeks of said appointment. Then tried to rescheduled for at least 3 months or later. Both times they said my hygienist will not be in the office that day. I personally don't come for a hygienist I come for the dentist and if it wasn't for him I would leave this practice. Why would you push a patients appointment back 3 months or so because y'all goofed up, I find it very unprofessional and I don't care if there's a shortage of hygienists in the area (it's what they told me the first time). I understand trying to be efficient but not at the cost of screwing people over

Fantastic experience: Generally, this is a great practice but what ruins it is the administration and reception experience when trying to make appointments via phone & followup. Hygienist & Dentist are great but the ones on the front have to represent those great, dedicated and competent Dentists &,hygienist. Just my opinion.

She did some low level adjustments to a tooth and preventative antibiotic and I felt great! Konikoff better be doing all they can to keep these two. If they have their own practice I’m moving them! Appointment was to get upper right tooth fixed. Big navy filling from 2.5 million years ago caused tooth to crack in 3 places. I had bad experiences before with another dentist and absolutely did not want another crown. Dr. Griffith (aka Doc Nicky G, the original tooth gangsta) convinced me I had a one off experience and that she would be great. Long story short it was a quick, Compassionate and painless procedure. From the excellent prep by her assistant to the temp crown I felt informed and well cared for. Thanks Team for the great work. Greeted pleasantly, escorted back on time. Hygienist was amazing. Doc was professional and super knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: A friend of mine introduced me to Konikoff and that was the best thing she could have done. From the start to finish they were very professional. I was so impressed I was able to get an appointment the very next day. All of the staff were very nice to me. They will be my dentist for life.

Negative experience: I've been a patient of Konikoff for about 10 years. Since COVID I find that their patient engagement has truly fallen short of the superb service I use to once get. On this most recent visit I was told I couldn't get my annual cleaning without xrays, and that this is the law. When asked if preauthorization was given so that I wouldn't have to come out of pocket, I was told we don't deal with insurance and that I needed to find out. Now mind you the only reason why I was worried about this was because just last year I was referred out by Konikoff to Aspen Dental and ended up with a hefty bill because certain xrays are only allowed once within your benefit period and Konikoff had already taken these xrays and then the referred Dental took their own set of xrays. So understand my reluctance to having to get xrays done again. It feels like a strictly cash for service now when I come there. Upon arriving I'm handed a form of supplemental services that are not covered by insurance then asked again during the visit if I would like to get any of the services to which I politely declined. But when I asked are we done I was told yes, I wondered why this time there was no polishing of the teeth. For which I was told we no longer do that unless the patient asks. Uh... shouldn't you say this upfront. By this point I was already pissed off cause then I had to wait almost 30 minutes for a Dentist to come and check after the hygienist for me to be able to leave. Sent home with a goodie bag and next Dental appointment pushed to Jan of 2026, when I had a confirmed appointment for December 2025. Needless to say this is my last time coming here. Especially after being lied to and told you can't provide a cleaning without xrays there is no law that states such.
