Gaston Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Positive experience: I've been here twice for tooth extractions and the treatment I received here has been great. Dr. Wright did my first one. He wrote me a prescription for pain meds to ease my discomfort after my first surgery and recovery was a breeze. Dr. DeLong did my second today and the only difference being he did not prescribe pain meds for discomfort after surgery, I'll just be doing a regimen of Tylenol/ibuprofen. I'll update my review after a week or two to give my feedback on the recovery process after this extraction and any differences I might notice. Overall I recommend this office. Kind people work here.

Fantastic experience: Dr Wright and team are excellent. You make an appointment and you’re seen on time not 30 minutes or so later like many other Dr. Offices. Both Dr Wright and Staff were friendly and made me feel comfortable during my consultation and implant procedure. They use the latest technology for my dental implant. They did a 3D X-ray and then did a 3D scan of my mouth, so Dr. Wright could 3D print a guide allowing him to be more precise placing my implant. I am in engineering and use similar technology so sorry for geeking out a bit. The implant went in easy as I choose to be numbed for the surgery. Dr. Wright explained what he was doing and answered all my questions when he finished. Later that evening Dr. Wright followed up with a call to check on me, not a nurse. Fantastic experience: Every aspect of my care at Gaston Maxillofacial Surgery was excellent. I was referred by my general dentist and Dr. DeLong was recommended by retired a maxillofacial surgeon and close friend. His office called me and I had an appointment within minutes of the referral request. The office staff were enthusiastic, friendly, engaging, working closely together. Dr. DeLong communicated clearly and patiently. He explained in detail and with visual aids the diagnosis and treatment options.He encouraged me to ask questions. I was encouraged to be involved in my treatment plan. I agreed with and followed his recommendations. I’m confident I received “the gold standard” and state of the art care in the most comfortable and caring environment. With local anesthesia Dr. DeLong and his assistants smoothly performed two implants, two extractions, bone grafting and a sinus floor elevation with no significant pain to me! This was done at one session in a little over two hours. Dr. Delong was skilled in technique, explaining each step and monitoring my comfort level at just the right time. Overall the team’s skill, performance, and attitude resulted in an excellent experience for me as a patient. I recommend them with confidence.

Positive experience: Although Dr. Jamison was amazing, my review is strictly with front desk. i called them earlier in the week before my appointment asking if the card holder had to be present and they told me no. a few days later i called back asking if i also needed the physical card, they also said no. i arrived the day of my surgery and was told the card holder needed to be present. it was very irritating and although they were nice and took me back immediately, i still waited by myself in the room for at least 40 min. obviously im unaware of what state im in as im coming off anesthesia so i didn’t know how i was acting but i was told one of the nurses seemed like she didn’t like her job much as she wheeled me to the car. (people are not aware of how they are acting or what’s going on so if you don’t like dealing with that, find a new career) other than all of this, they were fairly nice.

Fantastic experience: I’m so thankful I was referred to this office by my dentist. Every person on staff was kind, and patient. Dr. Delong talked to me before the procedure and calmed my nerves. His kindness and bedside manner is exceptional. Once the iv was started , which was started with no problems , I don’t remember a single thing until we were on the ride home. I felt very confident going in because my dentist is excellent and referred me, and now I understand why. I plan to get an implant and will be happy to come back to this office! Edited to add the the Doctor called this evening to check on me. That is unheard of these days and very much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: My dentist referred me to an oral surgeon for 2 very different problems; both needing biopsy and/or surgical removal. Even though I was surprised at the offer of an appointment the next day, I wasn’t able to make it until the day after. Everyone that I came in contact with was very helpful and caring. When I saw Dr Wright he explained everything in depth and made me feel comfortable with his care plan. Fortunately he removed the two areas of concern during that appointment. He took time to answer all my questions, and go over possible outcomes. He probably does this with all his patients, but his call the next day to check on me was very appropriated.

Fantastic experience: My visit to Gaston Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was as good as a visit to the dentist can be. :-) The staff were cordial and I was really happy with Dr. Wright's professionalism and "bedside manner." He explained what he was going to do, gave me an idea what to expect and we lucked out that the tooth came out in one piece and he didn't have to go digging for things. I am amazed at how easy he made things seem. I am very happy with my experience there and can in good conscience recommend them with no hesitation. The really do deserve five stars.

Fantastic experience: I needed a back molar extracted. The X-ray showed a long, curved root. At 68 I asked my dentist to refer me to an oral surgeon so I could be asleep. Dr. JamIson did a great job with no pain whatsoever. He explained everything that was going to happen and listened to me and answered my questions. Everything went exactly as he said The instructions for post-procedure care were complete and comprehensive. He and the entire staff were caring and communicated well. He called that evening to see how I was doing and if the bleeding had stopped. It has and I was doing great. I was delighted with the way the entire process went and especially important for me since I have no dental insurance, exactly what they told me the estimated amount would be. Thanks Dr. Jamison!

Positive experience: They did an outstanding job with my tooth extraction. I was put to sleep, so I had no pain. The procedure only took about 30 minutes. Post-op pain was minimal. My only complaint is that once I got into the operating room, I had to wait 45 minutes alone before the doctor came in. And while waiting, they played heavy metal rock music. I expected calming instrumental music. But other than a long wait and terrible irritating music, everything else was a good experience.

Fantastic experience: I had dental implants this morning @ 6:15. The entire experience so far has been top-notch. From the consult to the procedure, each detail has been excellent. The level of experience, the quality of the processes, the comfort and compassion provided, and the dedication of Dr. DeLong to customized perfection have been truly inspiring. I received general anesthesia so was put completely under sedation for hours. The Dr that handled this was in the room the entire time. I have had no related nausea, headache or after effects so far. I have been home for a few hours now and the procedure was completed over 6 hours ago. The temporary "teeth" look fabulous! And real. . I know this is very early in my process but as of now, my experience has been elevated excellence! I will plan to post an update later - in a few weeks - when we're sure the meds have worn off. cheers!

Fantastic experience: Went to Gaston Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery this past Friday for wisdom tooth extraction. The entirety of the staff that I had contact with from front desk to the oral surgeon were superb. They were all professional, answered any questions I had, and helpful. I chose to stay awake for my procedure, they took great care of me and I was able to communicate any concern I had and they were able to resolve it. The surgery was as painless as it could be and went smoothly. Afterwards the dental assistant provided detailed information on how and what to expect in regards to recovery. Later that night I received a follow up call to check up on me. In short: Staff was great and professional, surgeon communicated very well and responsive to any concerns, and the extraction went very smoothly.

Fantastic experience: I could not have asked for a better experience went there to have two wisdom teeth, removed the entire staff made me feel so comfortable and amazing. My son and I arrived to greetings from everyone. My dentist doctor Delong .. talk about amazing bedside manner ..answered all the questions. I never felt nervous or anything, so professional so kind before I knew it the procedure was over. I was completely out of it, but everyone was still so kind and later that night completely after hours he called me to check on me …like what Dentist does that?. I was still out of it I didn’t realize it was him until after , but the fact that he took his time to do that and check on me phenomenal… I am so grateful for this experience and I’m already healing very well.
