Fantastic experience: This dental office is the best in Birmingham!! My dentist I seen today was so amazing and caring! The assistant name was Pam and was amazing also! Dr Outlaw was who I seen and his mannerism is just amazing!! I went in very bad pain and needed quite a bit work done, in three hours my tooth was done with a root canal and temporary crown which look perfect! I only waited when I first arrived maybe 5 to 10 minutes. The whole staff was amazing! I am so amazed how wonderful the whole experience went. My pain was a 10 when I went in and a 2 when I came out! I highly recommend this dental office! I am 47 years old and been to a numbers of dental offices and by far this is the best place to get any dental work done!!!

Fantastic experience: I am so thankful that my dental hygenist told me about BFDS. What are the odds of finding a dentist on Labor Day? I had a dental emergency and my regular dentist was out of town but would have been closed anyway due to the holiday. I reached out to BFDS AT 8:10 Labor Day morning was seen in their lovely office by 9:45, my dental emergency taken care of and was on my way before 11:00! Unbelievable! Efficient, and so kind. Fantastic experience: Do not go to Claimont family dental. He will mess up your mouth and then send you here to Birmingham family dental* I totally like the staff it's not just one dentist .I am a new patient that got thrown away from Stephen H Pak . My new dentist is very through and has made me feel very comfortable. That was my temporary. My crowns are beautiful he fitted my bridge and removed a gaping space left by that former Dr Pak . Dr Swollenberge I know I've spelled it wrong is really an awesome dentist and his assistant Keisha are a great team. He did me a favor trying to get rid of me but God blessed me with this group because I'd been fighting him since 2021 for crumbling work. Thanks guys

Positive experience: Dr. Swicord is very professional, gentle touch but also straightforward. I like that and I'll more than likely make him my permanent dentist. The dental assistants are another story... I've been there 3 different times for a root canal. If you've had a root canal before then you know it's a 3 appointment process. Anyhoo... my 1st dental assistant was the absolute best ... wish I knew her name so if you visit here you can request her. ☝HOWEVER on the last 2 visits they were horrible. Unprofessional and lacked knowledge about what they were supposed to be doing... the 2nd Assistant had no clue of what he was doing and he had to keep getting help. He kept getting help from another person that didn't know what he was doing either; so then there's 2 people just lost. I said "Get someone else" and they finally get someone who was familiar with what I needed done.... on the last vist which was today, while she was knowledgeable and knew what she was doing, she was very nice/nasty. I hate that. It's like being rude with a smile... it's insulting to the patient. I really wanted to tell her where she could go and get off, but my teeth are at jeopardy here... anyway... To make this long story short: Great Dentist! Mediocre Assistants ... with the exception of 1 or 2.... And another thing! I hope they read this and fix their poor attitudes. Most people don't like the dentist as is and are probably already nervous being there... Your stank attitude and lack of understanding for a job YOU APPLIED for is unacceptable!... Have an awesome awesome day!

Fantastic experience: I had an abcess and a broken tooth. I went in, no appointment, and they not only fixed the abcess issue but they also extracted my tooth with no problems. I was in and out within 2 hours. Great facility and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience here. Came in on the weekend needing an emergency root canal. They had me back in less than an hour. Root canal was done in less than 40 minutes. Completely painless experience, doctor Church and assistant were so kind. I would almost consider switching to use them as my primary if I didn't live so far away.

Fantastic experience: CANNOT recommend this place enough! my oral surgeon's office wasn't able to fit me into their schedule until the next day, and I was in dry socket pain badly. after calling a few places, I found Birmingham Family and they happily helped me. They went above and beyond, I felt comfortable and cared for the entire time, and actually received better dry socket treatment than I did even at my surgeon's office!

Fantastic experience: I came here on my lunch break Friday for a dentist emergency when woke up and found my jaw swollen. They were the only place that I found for an emergency walk in. The staff were so nice and knowledgeable. I found out I had to get a root canal. That Friday they got me situated with medicine and Monday my root canal was done. The process of everything was smooth and quick after so much anxiety. I go in soon for a crown and I have no doubt that I will be taken care of.

Fantastic experience: My wife introduced me to this place years ago. Very friendly. My hygienist is the best I've ever had! Talina, you do great job! The front staff and Doctors are great too. This place is also open on weekends and holidays for special needs and emergencies. I live pretty far from there, but I won't go anywhere else. See you soon.

Negative experience: Got here at 10:30a.m. Appointment was at 11:00a.m. it is now 12:p.m. I've waited a whole hour and still haven't been seen. Second time this has happened

From the moment I arrived, they were both kind, professional, and extremely attentive to detail. Doctor Payne explained everything clearly and Asia was right there making sure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Their calm, reassuring approach made a big difference and I truly appreciated how much care they put into every step. The dental hygienist, I think her name was Robin, was fantastic and so caring and understood I had dental anxiety so she made sure to check on me during the exam. This office works great as a team and checks with other providers in the office to make sure they are making the best decision. Even though they could not treat me today, they made sure I was taken care of until I could meet with an oral surgeon.

Fantastic experience: I am so glad that I came to this clinic for a second opinion. Dr. Sollenberger took X-rays and presented me with a complete and honest consultation about my dental health. He discussed all of the available treatment options with me. He gave me a referral to Oral Surgeon for implants. Unfortunately, my bridge was done by a different doctor, and it was not placed properly. That bridge had to be replaced after couple months. I chose to continue my treatment with Dr. Sollenberger. I was very pleased with his care and skill. He properly treated and prepared my teeth before bridge work. The clinic provides ethical and honest billing. My charges were a very fair price. I am thankful that you gave me opportunity to have all of my teeth again.

Negative experience: I made my appointment two weeks ago with family dental for a consult. I arrived at my dental appointment five Minutes early to be on time. My appointment was at 12:30 and it is now 1:27 and I have not seen a doctor. I’ve been instructed that he’s coming. He’s talking to another patient but I made an appointment so I won’t have to wait a hour before being seen.

Fantastic experience: I was surprised to find out a dentist could treat me on a holiday. Being a Sgt. Law Enforcement, my schedule can be erratic and does not blend to traditional settings. Since I was a walk-in and new patient, I prepared to sit awhile filling out forms and watch scheduled appointments come and go. That was not the case with me, I was seen and treated within the hour. Negative experience: I had a bad experience in December 2024 and the summer of 2023. I had no problems with my chipped front tooth annd back top until I came there. It’s not shaped right and it hurts all the time like a toothache. . They did $500.00 in X-rays I asked if I had any cavities and was told no that was a lie! . I also got a letter of apology from the office manager when my daughter that’s now 30 yrs old was in the eighth grade. We were treated differently from a white mama and her daughter. I had to call and complain. Should have ran then but I’m running away now . WONT be BACK!

Fantastic experience: I was a walk-in new patient for a minor dental urgency as my regular dentist was unable to work me in. I had minimal wait 35z40 minutes. The receptionist were helpful. The dentist-Dr. Seal-was very nice. He made sure to explain my options and explained everything he was doing step by step. He stopped to make sure nothing was sensitive or painful. His assistant Christina was kind and friendly. This is a great resource for emergent dental care and is open weeknds!

Fantastic experience: My temporary crown came off over the weekend. I came here to have it re-attached since my regular dentist is not open on the weekend. Nancy did a great job, very experienced and reassuring. I went when they opened Saturday morning and they took me as a walk-in. Even though it was crowded I was finished in about an hour.

Negative experience: I really had a terrible experience at this dental office owned by Dr. Swicord. The doctor that they had to do my bridge initially started the service with a lot of promises which as a dentist you really shouldn’t make and I didn’t take them literally I just thought he was really good at Dentistry. He prepped the area for the bridge and put in the temporary. I had to keep the temporary for so many weeks because the bridge did not come in in the right color or the right shape or the right size I had Go back to that office almost 6 or seven times for this same bridge. He also left XS tissue, which I am dealing with right now went to see Dr. Swicord told me it wasn’t my fault that Was there however, sent me off to a periodontist got to the periodontist and apparently they were friends I think he works at the same office as Dr. Swicord. He then said I needed an Gingivectomy which is considered to be cosmetic surgery to remove the tissue that the original dentist left. This is just been the worst experience now my insurance won’t pay for it. Dr. Swicord‘s office has not even offered to even pay half or give some type of resolution to the sad situation there is food getting in my tooth underneath that pocket it is causing. I know it’s probably gonna be infected. It does cause pain and it’s just annoying that I have this big flap of tissue that’s going in and out of that pocket Also, the tooth is definitely the wrong color. It was the wrong color every time it came back from the lab and I understand that it’s not the dentist fault but I really feel like they have a little bit of control over that to make sure that it’s the right color even before they call me to come in to get get it fitted. So I wanted to get my frustrations out after I receive the letter that is attached today saying that they were no longer provide service for me without giving me an explanation as to why which I don’t wanna go back anyway because I really feel like they’re racist anyway good luck!! Because I’m walking around with a tooth that is very discolored is not the same color as my teeth and it’s huge and I have tissue going in and out of that pocket.

Fantastic experience: They treat you so kindly and humanely! All the assistants were wonderful, especially Jamie. Walked in with a concern on my gum and they did a deep clean that same day for an affordable price. Will definitely be my regular dentistry from now on
