He truly is one of the most gentle, kindest, and patient dentists I’ve ever encountered. He is eager to listen and explain and took extra time with me to ensure I was happy with my results!!! From the friendly welcome by the front desk staff to the interactions with hygienists and dentists, every second makes one feel valued. Visited with Sarah for braces check. She is always meticulous in checking fit and offering great advice, and does so with a bubbly, smiling demeanor!! Love her!! I was seen by Dr Sawyer for the first time today as he, too, scanned me again for remainder of my trays. He was extremely patient, diligent and humorous in obtaining the results he desired. It is so obvious that this entire staff enjoy their work, each other and have a sincere desire to help their patients achieve best results possible! When you leave this state-of-the-art practice, you can’t keep from smiling! It’s a rare talent to be so professional and fun at the same time!! From first phone call to walking out the door cleaned and smiling, the interactions were warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. I had been away for a few years, but coming back was like coming back home!! Newer staff were as kind and helpful as the friends I'd missed. The practice runs efficiently. Dr. Gritsiv is extremely knowledgeable, gentle and so easy to talk with! His soft-spoken, kind, smiling personality also creates a great connection with children. Fantastic experience: I'm a first time patient and was totally impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the appearance of the facility. I'm a dentist/pain wimp and the experience was rightfully pleasant. The repaired a filling with no discomfort and were able to schedule me for a cleaning on the spot due to a cancellation. I only wished I found the, sooner. We will be switching the whole family to this place.

Negative experience: The older white lady that did my teeth cleaning wasn’t gentle at all. This is the first time that I was hurt getting my teeth cleaned. I’m still sore right now.

I was a dental assistant for 40 years and I went to a dentist bc he was in network with my insurance and he told me that my tooth was non restorable! Due to my symptoms and the X-ray, I did not see where my tooth could not be saved. I decided to get a second opinion and I am so glad I did! Dr. G was able to save my tooth with a root canal. I did not even feel the injection and my root canal is Beautiful! Although Dr. G is not in network with my insurance, I will never go to another dentist! Being in the dental field myself, I know how hard it is to find a good, quality dentist and let me tell you, I found him! I highly recommend Oakwood Smiles!

Fantastic experience: I’m a patient of Dr Gritsiv and have been for many years. I’ve never been with a kinder group. They all take their time with you so you know everything that is going on. Even the assistants are concerned about your well being. I broke two crowns this past week! I paid the first one with Care Credit. I was so worried about being able to pay because their policy is to pay at the time of service. Thank goodness the the front desk called Care Credit again to see if I had enough funds left. I was in tears. Thank you to the wonderful tech/assistant that talked to me because I really did not know what I would do. I love this practice except for that one policy of paying up front. I really don’t know how some people do it. My sister just says to pull them out. I’ll probably be in that line very soon but if you need a dentist Dr. Gritsiv is the one for you. You won’t regret it. I’m sorry to say I’ll need to get my records and leave this 5 star practice because I cannot afford their prices. I am only on Medicare and to get a crown is more than my check. It is with great sadness that I leave.

Positive experience: My husband recently visited Oakwood Smiles for a routine cleaning, but unfortunately, the appointment couldn’t be completed. After an initial assessment, the staff informed him that they didn’t feel comfortable proceeding with the cleaning without anesthetic. While I appreciate their honesty, I was surprised that a routine cleaning couldn’t be performed as he has been going to this office for routine cleanings for 5+ years. While he and I both have had great experiences over the years, this appointment left me uncertain about the office’s objectives.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Oakwood Smiles since 2019. I have yet to have a negative experience. This last visit I had a very sore tooth, they were able to get me in within 3 days of calling and I ended up needing a root canal. They made the experience painless and as comfortable as possible. I have yet to run into anything negative about this office.

Fantastic experience: This was probably the best experience at a dentist I’ve ever had. Super friendly staff and Dr. I don’t have dental insurance so I got quotes from multiple places and they had very competitive pricing. They were ready to see me at my appointment time which is nearly unheard of in the medical field it seems. I had a consultation for wisdom teeth removal at another office in the area that was set on removing all four wisdom teeth however, Dr. Gritsiv explained why that was a bit unnecessary and only recommended removing two. I agreed with his reasoning and I’m grateful he took a more modest approach. I only intended on coming here for the wisdom teeth extraction but I could see coming here for all of our family’s dental visits.

Negative experience: Had a pleasant cleaning …..clean and updated equipment ….hygienist did a great job however please be aware that you will be charged because they are not in network with any dentist plan so if you think you get two free cleanings a year and a set of free X-rays a year —you will have to pay here ….i was not aware of this until after my basic cleaning appt and then I received a $200 bill for just a cleaning and X-rays….my prior dentist I never had to pay for basic cleaning or yearly X-rays unless I needed fillings, etc ….i feel like pricing is excessive here….i have the silver fillings and the dentist advised that I need to get them redone but was advising crowns instead of just refilling which I feel may have been a way to get more money since crowns are more expensive then fillings ….i will be going back to my old dentist where cleanings were free and deal with the scheduling issues…

Negative experience: I ended up here based on the great Google reviews but I am starting to think these reviews are fake. There just aint no way. I had read somewhere that Dr. Gritsiv likes to take the least costly approach and I experienced the complete opposite. I came in to have my bite adjusted because that was the first approach I wanted to take and this guy tells me I need a root canal. I just had the tooth filled 02/04/2025 (somewhere else) I believe the bite being off is what is causing the sensitivity I am having. I don't care what the X-rays show. I am the patient and that's what I want to try first. And let's say after having my bite adjusted I truly need a root canal...I am NOT having a dentist do my root canal!! I will see an Endodontist for that. This is the equivalent of having my primary care doctor treat my broken bone. Uh that's what an Orthopedic is for. Anyway, this guy was so set on selling me a root canal that he never bothered to check my bite. So I paid $159 for absolutely nothing. I will not recommend anyone to this office. Regret wasting my time and money.

Fantastic experience: Only had to wait in my car for a couple of minutes and then went right in to the chair and was greeted by the dental hygienist and she immediately started cleaning my teeth and said I was doing a good job of cleaning my teeth. Best of all , no cavities. Everyone was very friendly and Dr Gritsiv is the kindest person and a very good dentist. I tell all my friends how great Oakwood Smiles is , and to give them a try

Positive experience: The hygenist was not prepared before I entered the room. I had to wait several minutes for her to get the x-ray equipment ready. Once she started the x-rays, she was having difficulty getting the shots, even had me hold the holder for one of the shots. At one point I asked her if she knew what she was doing. I never had trouble in the past with getting my teeth cleaned. She used the waterpic to clean my teeth, and a couple of times I choked from the water going down my throat. All in all it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff are extremely friendly and provide detailed steps of everything they are or will be doing. They make sure you are comfortable throughout the visit.
