She didn’t make me feel bad at all, but was rather just glad that I decided to come for a cleaning at all. I didn’t catch her name, but she was so incredibly kind and informative at every step. She also took extra measures to make me comfortable at my appointment considering I am almost 9 months pregnant. Clean office space. I got in as a new patient on a cancellation in less than 2 weeks. Super pleased.

Negative experience: My experience has not been so good. I have been a loyal and paying customer of this place for quite some time, me AND my family. I have actually spoken with multiple people and they believe that this place is high priced and for no reason. Which leads me to my next point… when I had a bridge put in, I signed paperwork agreeing to how much I would pay. The Out of pocket cost was 2000. And I paid that in only two payments over one month time. Then I schedule a typical cleaning 6 months later, and pay out of pocket for that. My insurance has been paying too. After I got my deep cleaning done.. I got a notification that I owed another 1100! I thought that can’t be. I called them right away. When I spoke with someone I informed them of my situation and they told me I did not have to pay that all at once. I explained that I couldn’t pay any at the time but would take care of it when I could. Three months later I schedule cleanings for both me and my son. In that time … I got two ADDITIONAL notices that my statement changed and I then owed 800, and then it went down to 350. My FULL INTENTION was to pay the balance at the cleaning I had just scheduled. Then, they call me a couple days before my sons appointment asking to change the time and I approved it: I walk in for my appointment, and they had cancelled it with no warning, sent my stuff to collections and said my son can’t return until it is paid. Like I said, I will pay what is due, but with no communication whatsoever that was not in any way how I would run my business…… wouldn’t you want me to keep coming back so you can charge my insurance too, while we work to pay off the $350 I owe?

I was educated through my extraction process on nerves and what methods were being used to achieve specific goals, which I found really interesting and fun. I also have issues with my jaw and was given plenty of opportunities to rest my jaw and prepare for when there would be potential pressure with the extractions so I could support my jaw how I needed to feel comfortable. Coming from some poor experiences previously at other offices, this was truly such a relief and a worthwhile experience.

I had an upper molar that had broken at the gum line, and difficulty acquiring a provider that accepted my insurance in our area without traveling to someplace like Chicago. The pain became so severe I finally scheduled an emergency appointment from their website, and just prayed the financial damage paying out of pocket would not break me. They got me in the very next day, helped me get things squared away financially with surprising results especially as it turned out I had to have not just the broken tooth but also the one behind it pulled as well. The entire time they were very considerate and empathetic, making sure I felt as little pain as possible even during the numbing shot process, and kept asking the entire time if I was OK or experiencing any pain. I can not express enough gratitude or speak highly enough for Dr OH and the great, competent, knowledgeable, and compassionate staff at My Charleston Dentist. 5 stars! Highly recommend!

A permanent bridge had to be replaced, crowns have been installed and a removeable partial replaced and I highly recommend myCharlestonDentist. Positive experience: I have gone to My Charleston Dentist for years. In the past year or two I have been extremely disheartened with how my family and I have been treated by the staff. We love Dr B but lately the customer service in regards to pushing treatments that aren’t needed, billing statements without justification for charges and being made to feel like we are just filling a schedule have made me realize it’s time to go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Had a tooth that needed pulled. Never been here before. After I called they got me in first thing the next morning. Expected it just to be a consultation bet they actually pulled it. It was quick and went very smoothly for such a procedure. I would definitely recommend them and I don’t even like dentists.

Fantastic experience: I had a wisdom tooth and one molar pulled. The dentist was so gentle and made sure I was completely numb. Everyone there was so kind and caring. I called with severe tooth ache they got me in right then and pulled them a half hour later. Today is the day after and I have minimal pain!! They were excellent and I'd highly recommend them!!

Negative experience: I strongly advise against visiting this dentist office, particularly Dr. Oh, if you need a root canal. In early August, I had a root canal and crown procedure performed by Dr. Oh. Not even two months later, I began experiencing sensitivity to both hot and cold—something that shouldn't occur since the nerves are supposed to be fully removed during a root canal. When I returned to have this checked, Dr. Oh's response was, "Your problem is a puzzle I can't solve," and he referred me to a specialist. Unfortunately, the specialist he recommended had no availability anytime soon, so I had to find my own. After a proper evaluation, the new specialist confirmed I needed a retreatment for the root canal, as having sensitivity in that area is clearly abnormal. When I contacted Dr. Oh’s office to address the issue, they only offered a partial refund for the initial root canal (and not even the full amount they originally charged me). My main concern was having them cover the costs of the retreatment since the first procedure was not done correctly. Yet, all I received were vague responses and an inability to speak directly with the doctor, as he was "always with other patients." Adding to the frustration, I later discovered that some of my coworkers had experienced similar problems with Dr. Oh. This pattern of care is concerning, and I would not trust going back. Furthermore, be prepared to deal with frequent appointment rescheduling. It's been a recurring issue every time I've had an appointment, which only adds to the overall dissatisfaction with this office.

Positive experience: After going here for the last several years, I was highly disappointed at their regards for meeting my needs & sent me home after taking pain meds to prepare for my situation & traveling 45 mins & finding a driver just to get there, only for them to do nothing because it was going to be so costly, even after insurance. Negative experience: After all these years of happiness with My Charleston Dentist , I’m not happy. After moving almost four hours away from Charleston, I kept my dentist. In March I had my twice a year cleaning and found I needed a root canal and crown. Now in late September I’m still not finished with this procedure. The “Lab” or the dentist has problems with the scan ( dentist staff) or making crown (lab). All these redo trips have cost me gasoline money and hotel bills. The worst is they seem not to care and are unapologetic. So I’m scheduled for another four hour trip Dec 3. A cleaning an checking on the make do job on my crown that doesn’t fit. Something has gone wrong at this place with the dental staff or the lab they use.

Negative experience: I recently called as a new patient to make an appointment for a cleaning and the person I talked to on the phone was very rude. Their tone of voice was very condescending. After talking through dates for a possible clean in, I realized I would not be able to make those dates and told them it’s fine and that I appreciate them helping me out. Right after I thanked them, the person hung up on me without saying anything. I found it very disrespectful, especially for an incoming patient. I hope this behavior does not reflect on the company’s work itself.
