Fantastic experience: I absolutely love my visit at Dentistry at Somerset! I am not originally from Ames and had been needing a teeth cleaning for a while. Somerset was able to get me right in accommodating with my busy work schedule. First off I’d like to recognize what a beautiful office they have, as well as how modern all of their technology was. This made X-rays and a lot of the additional prerequisites before getting your teeth cleaned a breeze. Another thing I would like to acknowledge was how awesome the staff was! I was greeted with a smile with every person I walked past or conversed with. My hygienist Kayla and Doctor B were both super kind and answered all my questions! I am looking forward to my next appointment with Dentistry at Somerset!

Positive experience: Overall services provided have been good but seem to be having an issue with consistency on being seen with who I schedule with. I choose the person because I feel they do outstanding work and their customer service is what you want it to be. If there is a change in their schedule just let me know ahead of time so I can reschedule instead of just being surprised with someone different when I show up to my appointment.

Fantastic experience: Great place, wonderful service. The hygienist always communicating with you and very cheerful and very interested in you and how you are feeling and very very helpful. Very, very great people. Pain free. No pains. Doctor Buech popularly called Dr. B, comes to see you and greet you and talk to you and look at your X-rays and photos of your dental details and calmly explains to you what is going on. Never frightens you with some unexpected notes or phrases. Very courteous staff, everyone is ready for you, ready to receive your greetings, your smiles, they greet you back, they smile back at you , you are so welcomed, you feel very, very comfortable instantaneously and you feel the warmth of this unique amazing staff and this place. The hygienist Meghan comes to get and room you and waits on you every minute of the way. The hygienist does her work on you very, very detailed and without pain or any discomfort. The hygienist is able to tell you about your coverage for any of the procedures during your cleaning visit. When it’s all done and you are about to leave , the hygienist walks with you to to the exit, and almost everyone at the front desk tells you “ have a good rest of your day” . Thus, you know, you have just been to a great place and you have just had another great experience and you are full of gratitude and you are looking to share this experience and looking for someone to tell to about it. And you want to to tell whoever that may need these services that the staff over here bring their entire complete selves to work and you feel it irrespective of who you deal with and the experience is awesome. This is the best Dentistry with the best down to earth professionals of anywhere I have ever been to. Try it! and you will just keep asking yourself why you didn’t know about Dentistry at at Somerset sooner. Kudos to everyone in this organization.

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming staff—I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. They explained everything as they went, which made me feel much more at ease. I’ve always been a little afraid of the dentist, but this experience actually makes me want to go back. Definitely a good experience! I was also pleasantly surprised by their relaxation menu, which I really enjoyed. It added an extra level of comfort that I definitely needed.

Negative experience: The dentist was fine. But expect to be bludgeoned with texts after your appointment, even if you check the “please don’t text me” box on their 752 question pre-admission survey. I want a dentist with whom my relationship starts and stops with working on my teeth. I don’t need a social media ‘friend’, or a business who harangues me to ‘rate’ them, or informs me about limited opportunities to enter a raffle for a $15 gift certificate, or other various forms of homework assigned to me. Is that too much to ask in 2025?

Fantastic experience: I see Dr. B and she and her team are THE BEST!!!! I have had nothing but great appts with her. They are all so patient and compassionate during my visits! I would recommend her and this Dentistry ANYTIME TO ANYONE ❤️ the environment as well is very welcoming and they all do well making you comfortable

Fantastic experience: I have had nothing but bad experiences with dentists in the past and have severe anxiety due to it and I have never felt more comfortable at a doctors office let alone a dentist! They were super friendly and understanding of my anxieties and listened to my concerns. They gave me a ton of information and answered all my questions. They even gave me a weighted blanket and a pillow to help my knees! I cannot reccomend this place enough and I couldn't be happier with my experience here. I am actually excited to get my teeth fixed for the first time in my life!

Dr. Carmean does a wonderful job at making sure you understand treatment plans and that you are comfortable throughout any service. If you have dental anxiety i highly recommend this place, i’ve never felt more safe in a dentist office!

Fantastic experience: It had been over a year since my last visit and I remember why they are my dentist. Customer service was amazing from the moment you walk in the door til you walk out! Dr. Morgan and Haley took amazing care of me, walking through the different scans they used to evaluate my concerns I was having! So amazing they have technology that is next level just to take care of their patients. And lastly, how can you not enjoy the comfort menu?! Being able to watch a show or ocean vibes while having your teeth cleaned!

Fantastic experience: I visited Dentistry at Somerset for the first time today. Dr. Carmean and her assistant were friendly and professional and provided great dental care and advice. They listened carefully and patiently while taking a history and they performed a dental exam. They also reviewed some previous dental images, and discussed treatment approaches and other recommendations. I was happy with my visit and would be glad to continue my dental care with them. Nice office too! Very clean, nicely decorated and well-equipped. I highly recommend their dental practice.

Fantastic experience: I was starting have some tooth pain and called Dentistry At Somerset. They got me scheduled for a cleaning/examination/x-rays the very next week. Kayla was my hygienist for that appointment. She was wonderful at explaining what to do, was extremely engaged with listening to what I was experiencing and made the process personal. She did an excellent job at cleaning my teeth to the point that I don't remember a time my teeth were that clean. All of this made the best first impression of the staff at this location. Next up was Dr. Carmean, the doctor I was assigned with. When she came to evaluate what was found through the x-rays and general examination, she helped eased my concerns of potentially needing multiple root canals. The biggest tooth concern was able to be addressed the next week and luckily at this time, only needed to be a cavity filling and not a root canal. With that, she was able to handle a few other teeth fillings on that side of the mouth on the same day. My experiences with the front desk, financial/checkout, and scheduling employees have been wonderful. Though I am typically horrible with names so I do not remember their names unfortunately. The equipment and office is top of the line of what I've experienced in my life. I've never enjoyed going to a dentist office until Dentistry At Somerset. All in all, if you are in the area and are needing dentist or looking to switch to a different dentist, look no further than Dentistry At Somerset. The staff and experience you will have here is wonderful and they truly do everything they can to make going to the dentist a good thing.

Fantastic experience: I moved to the Ames area for college and didn’t go to the dentist for 2-3 years. After graduation I looked for a new dentist in the area and didn’t like what I saw. Until a friend recommended Dentistry at Somerset! I booked and appointment to see Dr.Carmen and I was so impressed. The team talked to me about my priorities and didn’t push for any treatment options I wasn’t interested in. They explained every procedure in detail and made sure I didn’t have any questions. I’ve had bad experiences with past dental procedures, but when I needed cavities filled Dr.Carmean sat down with me to listen to my anxieties. She also double checked everything for my prior medical history and current medications to ease my worries about complications. The Somerset team excels at listening to and teaching patients about the best steps forward. I could not recommend any other dentist’s office as highly as I can here!

Fantastic experience: I chipped 4 of my teeth and I was able to get in same day! I was blessed to have Dr. Buech and Lexi G. to help get me all fixed up! When they were done, my teeth looked even better than before they were chipped! Dr. Buech gave me advice on how to avoid chipping in the future as well! Those ladies worked some magic and made me feel very welcomed and made sure I was comfortable the whole time! To top it all off they were also able to squeeze me in for my 6 month cleaning not even an hour later! I highly recommend this dentist office! I am more than happy with my experience!

Fantastic experience: Since I was young, I have had positive experiences going to the dentist. My mom made sure we went to our pediatric dentist every 6 months, and made sure they were very attentive my sisters’ and my dental health, with a personal touch. Fast forward a few years: In 2014, my husband and I moved to Ames. My husband needed to see a dentist on a Friday. Dentistry at Somerset was the one dental practice I could find with Friday availability. My husband and I have been patients at Dentistry at Somerset for several years now. Between the two of us, I have been the more “difficult” patient and needed more patience and accommodations. In 2019, my husband and I moved back to Des Moines. Besides the commute, I have struggled with episodes of depression in addition to other chronic conditions that make it harder to do things like self-care, be punctual to appointments, etc. Other physicians (in other medical disciplines) have discharged me from their care. The staff and Dr. Jason Niegsch have been respectful, professional and understanding. I have never ever been told to find another dentist. I also have very sensitive teeth. The dental hygienists have all been excellent (my last hygenist was Pai-I am sorry if I spelled it wrong)), are very careful when they clean my teeth and make sure I get the varnish fluoride and the high-flouride toothpaste to help with my sensitivity. Whatever doctor I see (I usually schedule with Dr. Niegsch), listen and validate my concerns. They are willing to perform preventative measures (like sealant) so I don’t have to worry about getting a cavity or something more serious. Thank you, Dentistry at Somerset, for adopting a culture of understanding and recognizing the patient as a whole, not just the sum of its parts.

Fantastic experience: I was pretty nervous considering I'd never been to a dentist. Felt like a bog ol baby honestly. All the horror stories of having tooth work done really got to me.I had to get a root canal. Every single person I talked to at the office was extremely friendly, very professional and very comforting. And also pretty funny. Dr Morgan and Amanda were awesome and very good at keeping you up to date with what was going on. Highly recommend going here for anyone, especially if you're nervous. It's the day after my root canal and I'm feeling great! No pain whatsoever. All that worrying for nothing!

Fantastic experience: Best dental office in Ames!! The remodel looks fantastic! Seating area is pretty spacious as well. Had another great visit. Dr. Morgan and her assistant were very patient with me during a procedure that I had done about 2 weeks ago. Dr. Morgan made sure I was comfortable at all times and even got me to giggle. The comfort menu is also a nice option to have. You can listen to music or have a weighted blanket or even get some lip balm. Last week I had my routine cleaning with the most amazing hygienist Megan! She told me about a few spots to focus on while brushing. During my cleaning I started to get hot. Megan asked me if I wanted a cold shoulder/neck wrap from the comfort menu. I never knew that was on the comfort menu. It's so nice to have a place that cares about my comfort. Im so comfortable and relaxed that I plan a cleaning around my birthday every year. Thank you Dr. Morgan & Megan for making my visits comfortable and great! Also thank you for taking care of my family!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing experience for both my daughter and myself. Dr Morgan is the absolute best! She worked me in as a new patient and took care of my problem the same day. I brought my daughter in a week later as a new patient and again she took care of her issues the same day as well. She was amazing with my daughter who was scared and explained everything she did and made her comfortable the whole time. All the staff made both of us feel comfortable and welcomed from the get go. I have definitely had anxiety with going to the dentist in the past but after coming here I feel like I can move past that anxiety. I was gifted with a welcome gift and when I went back to the room, they handed me a “menu” of things I could choose from to make my experience great. Payton and Dr. Morgan were simply the best doctor and hygienist I have ever had. They explained everything thoroughly, great conversationalist and just made everything great. Wendy was simply great with allowing me to come in on a Friday and with no notice and then working with me after my appointment finished. I would recommended this dentist office a 1000 times over as it has been the best experience I have ever had.

He was so kind to give me a discount on my Invisalign and has been unbelievably flexible with my cross country travels. Negative experience: Just ok. They will get you the basic you need. Customer service is exceptional. Quality of treatment is just ok. The insurance quoted amount is not what you will be billed. It is slightly higher. Update on 5/20/2025: above all looks good till date. But the biggest concern is quality of treatment. I have been mentioned it is a deep cleaning and once done, they mentioned we will touch inside in the next visit. Remember this is not regular cleaning. They mentioned the same that will do inside cleaning in the last visit and they di not. Please make sure you check with all the procedures they will do before you go. Reducing from 3 to 2 star.

Fantastic experience: Usually the dentist isn’t the most fun place to be for a lot of people. This place throws that fear out the window. Honestly the best dentistry experience I’ve ever had, they walk you through everything and they specialize in comfort. I had no pain through a top back molar tooth extraction. I woke up the next day expecting pain. Nothing, besides some stiffness and a little discomfort. The next morning! No pain meds on board, no swelling. Magic! A little sad that I can’t eat crunchy stuff for the next 2 weeks though

Fantastic experience: First impression is that the office is beautiful and modern! I was greeted by the receptionist who gave me a full tour of the facility! I was given a choice of comfort measures to have during my procedure. My hygienist was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. The dentist was great! Explained the procedure she would be doing for me and let me see how much this would cost. To my surprise, the procedure was not as expensive as I was expecting! Overall a wonderful. experience!

Negative experience: Made an appt 5 days ago, called in the AM to confirm my insurance and while on the phone with them, they cancelled my appt because I didn’t confirm the appt! Said they emailed, that was false. No voicemails.

Fantastic experience: I recently moved to Ames and needed a dentist to fix a chipped tooth. I’m very glad I chose Dentistry at Somerset for this procedure. The online patient registration process was simple and fast. Dr. Carmean completed the process quickly and she and her assistant, Lauren, were very personable. The staff also reviewed the cost with me prior to the procedure. The office looks new, bright and state of the art. I was also offered some amenities that I’ve never been offered at other dental offices. I’ll be using Dentistry at Somerset for all my future dental services.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I, for various reasons, had gone a couple years without seeing a dentist. This year we made it one of our family goals to find a dentist and make routine visits. My husband was the one that read reviews, compared info, and eventually made us appointments at the Somerset office. Walking in the first time made me a little nervous as the remodeled place looked like a fancy wellness center you'd see in major cities. The desk staff are warm and welcoming, the technicians are kind and accommodating, and the doctors are personable and open with sharing what they see and available options. The business also has a "Comfort Menu" of various items like weighted blankets, noise canceling headphones, aromatherapy, etc to help ease anxieties and help relax patients. The ceiling TV's are large and, when not playing a chosen Netflix show or Spotify playlist, rotate through various nature scenes that are gorgeous and relaxing. After our initial visit and assessment, I unfortunately required a root canal on my front tooth. Now I've never been scared of dental procedures, but I don't imagine anyone would be thrilled to hear they need a root canal. Dr. B. walked me through what they saw on the imaging and what the procedure would entail, answering all my questions. The day of the procedure, Dr. B and the endodontist tech got me settled and reviewed the process with images before numbing me up. Ironically, the most painful part of the whole thing was injecting the numbing solution. While the procedure was roughly 2 hours, I was never uncomfortable or bored as both ladies checked in and were attentive in the process. Once the tooth was sealed again, Dr. B made sure to double check my bite alignment and adjusted areas that I indicated felt off without any fuss. Although they mentioned I could take pain reliever for any pain or soreness after the numbing solution had worn off, I found I didn't need to that day or even the day after. Although this was only my second visit in two weeks, I am so impressed by Dentistry At Somerset and I will (and have already) recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist. I do want to recognize that the business is running a review promotion currently that asks customers to leave reviews and share. My review is not part of any entry with this promotion.

The doctor was caring and took time to answer my questions and put my mind at ease. Dr. Beuch popped her head in to say hello and the whole team made me feel very cared for. I'll definitely be using them for my dental care!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Somerset Dentistry in Ames, IA during my recent root canal procedure. The dentist did a wonderful job—professional, gentle, and clearly experienced. Her assistant was also very good, attentive throughout the entire process. On top of the quality care, they were both fun to be around, which made the appointment feel a lot more relaxed and comfortable. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for dental work done right.

Fantastic experience: The comfort menu made the appointment so much more bearable, I was able to zone out and watch Netflix with a warm neck pillow and blanket. All the staff and dentist were wonderful about making sure I knew exactly what was happening and asking if I was ok or needed anything.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Morgan is amazing with the kiddos. Not only did she make me feel comfortable with my son’s appointment, she was super engaging with him in conversation about topics he was interested in which helped distract him from the procedure.

Fantastic experience: I have not had very good experiences with dentists from a young age so when I finally came here for my first check up in almost 5 years, I was super nervous. But the staff was super kind, caring and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Then I was told I needed a filling. I got nervous but I just left my appointment today and I am over the moon about how smooth and simple the whole thing was. Dr. B took it at my pace and made sure I was super comfortable. Words cannot describe how happy I am to have found such a great dentist’s office!

Fantastic experience: We have gone here for years and always loved our experiences. They are great with adults and my 4 young kids.
