Fantastic experience: Everyone was very kind & thoughtful while I was at OPEN DOOR DENTISTRY today. I had a new Dr today. I truly hope & plan on asking for hem each time I go to the office. We all had a fun & friendly visit. Thank you all, Madonna.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff are very helpful and certainly do excellent work.Thankd to their dental care I have not had to have any teeth removed and only minor fillings done..Almost no sane people like going to the dentist but I for one have enjoyed their wonderful smiles.

Fantastic experience: I took my 96 year old grandma in on a same day appointment. She was in pain. They took her right away. The staff, nurses and the doctor were great!! They treated my grandmother with dignity and respect. They were so caring and gentle with her. When we left grandma said I want to come here from now on. I highly recommend.

I felt very comfortable. I also had a good experience with the dentist that extracted my tooth. He was very caring and kind.

Negative experience: Hopefully this saves someone else the pain and trouble i went through. I went to open door to get a crown put in. I wasn't numb enough during the procedure and felt the drilling. I told the dentist, who didn't numb the tooth further and just kept drilling. The dentist was worried he drilled too close to my nerve... I went back 3 times after the main visit to get the permanent crown put on. The crown didn't fit 3 times in a row, they stated it was the Labs fault. The second time they tried fitting the crown the guy next to me had the same problem. Seems poor fitting crowns are an occurrence here. My tooth became seriously infected during the time the temporary crowns were taken on and off. The dentists and hygienists didn't realize this. I had to go to the doctor to get antibiotics to treat the massive fever, pain and swelling the infected tooth caused, whilw.in opendoors care. ... I felt the hygenists were very unprofessional, carelessly knocking my teeth with their knuckles, bumping the inside of my mouth with instruments, acting like they were in high-school, etc. My overall impression is this location is too busy to provide quality work and has a lack of competent staff. 3 months later my tooth still has a mild infection, is painful to chew on and likely will need more work to have the actual issue resolved. This was a nightmare to deal with, save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to open door for a year. They are very helpful especially when it comes to understanding what i need to do. Especially why i need to do a specific thing for my teeth. Such as flossing a specific way and why. Also what tools they recommend for things like bad breath and gum pains.

Positive experience: I was disappointed in my visit yesterday. The hygienist did an awesome job, however the dentist was extremely rude when I stated I was on disability. He was trying to push a partial, bridge, crowns, when I told him I couldn't afford that kind of work because I was on disability he said "oh ok, well you can talk to the ladies up front, in a very "put off" tone.

Fantastic experience: They have taken many steps to create an environment that is almost enjoyable. Thorough, friendly, punctual, and have appointment times that fit busy lives. Impressive to have dental office in grants pass that actually cares about finances, schedules, and a person. Thank you.

They are very professional. I had pictures taken and my teeth were lightly cleaned. And then a hygienist came in and evaluated what I need done. And then the dentist came in. Fantastic experience: I had the best experience with Dr. Murdock. I had a difficult tooth to extract. I felt no pain. The procedure was over before I knew it. His assistants were so kind and made me feel comfortable. I am so impressed with Open Door that I tell everyone. They are Top Drawer!

I fear the worst when it comes to anything and I have to say, the second I walked into open door dentistry in grants pass I was greeted with the kindest people. From the ladies at the front desk to the dental assistants and the dentist. Everyone is so kind and I instantly felt my anxiety melt away. You won't regret making an appointment here, they explain your dental plan in detail and offer flexible payment options. They are also open Saturdays and stay open late during the week which is convenient for people that have to work. Gentle, kind, and amazing! Wish I could give 10 stars because I would.

Positive experience: They were very helpful and I felt like they were really trying to help me physically and emotionally. My front tooth got knocked out by a foul ball, and I was extremely embarrassed to look that way, especially in front of such a beautiful woman that was helping me ( the dentist’s assistant, excuse my lack of knowledge for their titles) especially since it’s hard enough being single at my age, lol Everyone in there was very kind and professional. While I was waiting to be seen, which was only a few minutes, I overheard a conversation a gentleman was having with the staff, and he was really trying to maintain his being very upset, and the staff was able to solve his problem fairly fast and was very polite and professional in the way they handled it. I’m being seen again in the morning to get a temporary bridge installed until they can build the permanent one ( if I understand correctly) My only issue, was the cost is fairly expensive, which could be out of there control due to being competitive, and they don’t offer veterans discounts, which is my only reason I gave 4 stars. Great place though, with 3 locations I know of, and got me in same day I called because of my cosmetic emergency ( which isn’t a real emergency) but they treated it that way, which felt good to know they understood my situation.

Fantastic experience: The staff are so friendly and the equipment is all high-tech. I was really impressed that they got me in last minute and they exceeded my expectations. They also didn’t make me feel bad for not having gone to the dentist in a decade. Anybody that goes to them will be greatly impressed and will be taken care of. I will use them for all my future dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Best dental experience I have ever had!!! The staff are absolutely incredible. I just can’t believe how awesome they are. Recommending to all my friends and family. And the billing assistant, Brook, made the billing and scheduling awesome- she is so thoughtful and sweet. I actually love going to the dentist after years of dreading it!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been to Open Door Family Dentistry several times now, including an emergency, and I have always been pleased with my visit. I was seen same day for my emergency (extreme tooth pain). Plus they are open late, so I can make appointments for after I get off work. I am always met with smiling faces and gracious care. Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and was in a lot of pain. Open Door got me in the same morning that I called, and took care of my problem immediately! I am terrified of dentists due to trauma from my past. The staff and Dr. Burton were outstanding and handled me just right! They were soothing and understanding and I honestly never felt the pain I was expecting! I am so happy with my visit that I do not plan on ever going anywhere else for my dental needs!

They are always easy to get ahold of and rescheduling is a breeze. No one particularly loves visiting the dentist but they make it as convenient and comfortable as possible. Fantastic experience: Every thing was great. I loved it that my granddaughter Jessica was able to do my ex rays. And the prep work before I saw the hygienist. I was very happy about the bill, but heard that the next cleaning cost $299.00 I only have 10 teeth, so I might not be able to come back, as 2 cleanings with insurance would cost me $598.00. I thought the facility was wonderful, and all the people were very nice.

Fantastic experience: Way before my appointment today, May 02, 2025. I asked the front desk how long it will take for my next appointment for getting my 2 teeth filling, 1 wisdom teeth, and 1 lower teeth removal. I got told between 2 to 3 hours. But, I couldn't believe how fast and efficient is Dr. Murdock. I got in around 10:45 in the morning and I got out around 12ish. I highly recommend Open Door Family Dentistry and make sure you make an appointment with Dr. Murdock.

The hygienist and assistant were friendly and made the experience a pleasant one. The dentist was gentle and genuinely caring. The costs are very upfront and no unpleasant surprises. Plus my teeth feel wonderfully clean again!

Negative experience: Needed a dental clearance for a heart procedure. Local dentist referred me to an oral surgeon in in Medford who could see me in 5 weeks? Open Door saw me next day and it was worth the trip from Brookings of Grants Pass! Very pleased with extraction and professionalism of the dentist and staff.

Fantastic experience: Quick pre-visit e-form filled out on phone. Smooth process from arrival to cleaning to health discussion / strategies afterwards. Prompt and courteous service the entire way through.

Positive experience: Very satisfied with the doctor and exam. I have mixed feelings about the hygienist as it was the fastest cleaning I have ever experienced, plus,I was informed afterwards that I needed deep cleaning, but not told, orexplained, by the hygienist herself.

Fantastic experience: The following is the review I left several months ago. I’d like to add to that. I just came back again and the dentist did beautiful work. He made it painless, even though it was my front teeth and could have been very sensitive. I didn’t feel a thing. This is important because I am one of those that really doesn’t like going to the dentist no matter how much I like them personally. No matter which dentist I have had work on me. They are all excellent, caring, and thorough. No matter who you are and what you need I strongly recommend them for everyone. I’ve been in here several times and I’ve brought my friend here as well. We are always treated very well. Everyone is very polite. The doctors know what you’re doing. I’m really grateful to have found them.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I called with a toothache, to making the appointment, the examination and finally the treatment, the care was excellent. Everyone was sensitive to my emergency and sympathetic to the situation. Problem was resolved the same day. Very pleased!

Fantastic experience: My Mom is a patient at Open Door Family Dentistry so I was familiar with their excellence in Dentistry. I called to schedule and appointment, I was not currently a patient, in the morning to look at an implant that was bothering me and to have a cleaning and checkup. They were able to get me in the same day. They performed 3D X-Rays, cleaning and review of my current dental condition for my entire mouth. They have all the modern equipment and all the staff is very knowledgeable, courteous and explained everything the entire visit. They have a large TV monitor for the patient to view X-Rays and the Doctor showed all the issues and explained treatments clearly and concise. The front office staff greets you with a smile and everyone is genuinely concerned for your dental health. Everything is explained in fine detail and they provided costs of treatment for my implant issue. This is a very professional dental office! They were able to setup my next six month cleaning appointment right from the chair. I highly recommend Open Door Family Dentistry for all your dental needs.

Negative experience: Yea the dentist broke off not one, but two files in my tooth after drilling for over an hour on one root canal. Then he abruptly stood up and left the room. The admin staff then ushered me out of the room and recommended a specialist in Medford with a wait of over 2 weeks. So here I am with a hole in my tooth and two files lodged in it right next to the nerve. The numbing agent wears off and it's excruciating pain. I do some research and find a specialist right in GP who will see me ASAP. I go in and tell them what happened and they said they deal with this regularly from Open Door. REGULARLY. I call up Open Door to give them a chance to make it right by helping with the $2,400.00 bill for the specialist and the dentist who gets back to me was just silly. Total damage control and not recognizing the dentist they had screwed up twice on one tooth before he noticed he screwed up and walked away. The dentist they had broke off TWO files in my tooth...only telling you this to know what you'll get at Open Door. Ridiculous..not a fan.
