Dental One Associates of Bel Air

Fantastic experience: Dental One in Abingdon is great. Dental hygienists and Dr Chhatwal are just great. Yesterday, I had impressions made, as I need teeth pulled. Everyone was so nice. I was in and out in a timely manner. Earlier I had a cleaning appt. It was a comprehensive cleaning and Dr. "C" checked my teeth. Dr C came and verified all hygenist findings & set up appt to correct 2 problems. Addition 11/6/25, I had a 3+ hour long procedure done today and it went very well. Dr. Chhatwal and his staff were attentive and professional. Due to my medical conditions and the extensive procedure, Dr. Chhatwal called me later to be sure I was all right.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient long enough to see two prior Hygienists retire. Dr. Chatwaal is a great dentist, with a comforting and professional demeanor. He is also amusing, a good thing in a stressful environment. Check-in and out are easy and there is ample parking. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Chatwaal and Julia, my Hygienist. I have no experience with other dentists there.

Negative experience: I miss Dr. Blaney. Things haven’t been the same since he retired. I l gave Dental One a chance again after the changing of hands. The new doctor looked at my teeth for all of 5 minutes. I came in next time for a the regular cleaning I thought I had been set up for and was told I had I had to have a specialized cleaning with scaling, etc. Before the procedure began, I asked if my insurance would cover it. They said they would but I’d have to pay $136 out of pocket. Why wasn’t that explained to me before I came back into the office assuming I was getting a regular cleaning that was covered by my insurance? I’m not sure. What do I know? I felt baited and switched. When I asked for a regular cleaning, the hygienist would not provide me with one and said I could only have the specialized one. Why the treatment plan wasn’t explained or told to me before I arrived? Not sure.

Fantastic experience: I was scheduled for a scaling, thought it was a regular cleaning. I explained that I couldn’t afford a scaling, so they explained what they could do and how the scaling works.The scaling wasn’t too bad? Certainly was difference.

Fantastic experience: Professional and very attentive to details. From the time we got there to our check out everyone was very kind and the process was very relaxed.

But not here! I was relaxed and calm the entire time thanks to Dr. Reddy and all his staff! Everyone from check-in to check-out was so helpful and kind and empathetic to my individual needs. So glad I chose Dental One and so pleased with my personalized plan for restoring my healthy smile and the progress thus far!

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I have gone here for years and years. Dr. Chattwhal (I'm sure I butchered that) is the best, both professionally and personality wise. He really spends time with his patients and is always chipper. The staff are all great but the good Dr. Is the best :) They also work with you if you need bigger procedures done and offer financing options. They handle a wide range of procedures under one roof as well, so not being referred out to other locations for most things from cleaning and brighter to implants and wisdom tooth extraction and caps is nice. The staff is amazing and speaks with their patients during the whole ordeal. You will feel taken care of here. You even have financing options that let you have major things done if you need, they set you up right there for it.

Fantastic experience: I went to see an endodontist/specialist because of chronic tooth pain. The doctor and staff were very pleasant and professional.

Negative experience: I dont usually review but this time I am. Dr. Reddy was a bit smug or their sales process is vicious. Temp dental asst. was great and professional. Im sorry telling someone they could die or have a stroke, because they have a bad tooth on an initial consultation is wrong. He didn’t like my snarky response of how added stress from being told that might kill me. And without asking about my quality of life make claims about how my life will be impacted by a tooth. When I didn’t let him break my mood. He basically, checked all his boxes to say he did. “And wiped his hands with it” I tried to speak with someone at the facility because I’d rather be direct and deal with my problem before running online but everyone basically looked like they didn’t care about my experience, only if they did “their” job. I bet if I would have been more interested in their cosmetic work he and the team would have cared more. You can go, maybe you’ll have a good experience. Mines ehh…ima just find someone new.

Fantastic experience: It was my first time there and Dr. Reddy is who my dentist was. He was very nice and helpful to me. Very descriptive which helps if you are naturally anxious at dentists. He pretty much gave me compliments/helpful comments to keep me feeling at ease for the entire 90 minute filling and temp crown appointment. My dentist couldn’t do the procedure in a timely manner so my endodontist recommended Dr. Reddy and I’m so glad he did. I think he is great as well as his assistant. She was great too!

Negative experience: Not the best experience at the dentist....came in as a new patient for a lose tooth causing pain, dentist exam found other teeth issues that I was more then happy to address but.....after one of the additional issues was attended to I was informed my dental benefits had been exhausted....now here's where I am...I've had over $3300 worth of dental work of which only $2000 was covered by insurance leaving $1300 i am responsible for out of pocket AND THE DAMN LOSE TOOTH CAUSING ME PAIN IS STILL IN THERE!!...My dental insurance doesn't renew until Jan 1 and im going to have to deal with the pain until then. THIS IS THE RACKET DRs AND INSURANCE COMPANIES PLAY!!! Long gone are the days of honest business. The folks working for this Dental Corporation had zero control over this situation and were as nice and understanding as they could be considering. I blame, 1st the Dentist that made the decision to NOT address the issue I came in for and 2nd, the insurance company for NOT covering this as an emergency dental issue. Rant over!

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at Dental One Associates with Dr. Reddy! I had extremely chipped front teeth, and Dr. Reddy repeatedly pushed crowns without ever explaining they could be considered as cosmetic and not covered by insurance. We even did a pre-authorization, so I believed it would be covered. After the work was done, insurance denied payment because Dental One Associates and Dr. Reddy coded the crowns as not medically necessary. I called Dental One Associates multiple times and was told Dr. Reddy would provide a letter to submit to insurance. Weeks passed with no action. After continued follow-ups, the office manager finally called me back--only to say Dr. Reddy refused to provide a letter. That left me with an extra $1,100 bill on top of the $1,800 I had already paid out of pocket. My total cost was $2,900! If I had known that upfront, I never would have agreed to the crowns. This experience has completely destroyed my trust in Dental One Associates and Dr. Reddy. If you are considering going here, think very carefully. Ask every possible question about insurance coverage and insist on clear, written answers about what will and won't be covered. Do not assume that Dental One Associates will help you if insurance denies your claim--because based on my experience, once they've been paid, you are entirely on your own. Buyer beware: If you want honesty, transparency, and a dental team that actually stands by its patients, look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I came about 2 weeks ago for a crown. The doctor and assistant were very cordial and professional. They tried their best to accommodate me during the process. The crown fits so well. I have no pain. I was able to eat on it just a couple hours later. If you are in the area and you are looking for a dentist, Dental One Associates should be your final stop.

Negative experience: They canceled my appointment from saying I never filled out there pre appointment form. Which I never received in a text like she said I have two text total from them and neither have that link. I did give them my insurance info over the phone and had my x Ray photos sent over. Did this all two weeks before appointment only to get a text the day before that they canceled my appointment I call and the lady says yea you didn't fill out a form I sent. I told her I never got it she says to bad basically. Great place with high stars yea ok. Garbage No call or nothing just a text cancelling. Thx..

Negative experience: The dental assistant and dental hygienst were very nice here. Thats it for nice things i have to say. I came here and after my trays I was told I didnt wouldnt owe anything that day then after my cleaning was done I owed 360$ on the spot and I didnt have it so I had to pay it a couple weeks later so it didnt go into collections. The front desk was very rude and they tried to claim they didnt tell me i wouldn't owe anything for my visit. Don't come here or if you do be prepared to pay no matter what they say

Negative experience: Cancelled an appointment, only for them to go an also cancelled it due to a doctor being stuck somewhere only to then charge me for missing a cancelled appointment. Will never return, literally go anywhere else and it’ll be better.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a cleaning & got 5 Star treatment. I told my Hygienist I was having discomfort around a root canal; She was concerned & went right to work with xrays & charts to help. After analysis, She brought in the Endodontist to check me. My problem was not serious (which relieved me) Very pleased with Dental One in BelAir!

Fantastic experience: My son has autism. He got xrays at dental one a few weeks ago and a cleaning today. He had a great experience. Enjoyed chatting with the assistant and hygienist. Front staff was welcoming to him. Warmly greeted. All clients in the waiting room were obviously "regulars" and seemed happy to be there. Nice waiting area also. Oh..... and his teeth are sparkling ✨️.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment on Monday with Dr. Chhatwal for a problem with a tooth issue. As usual his staff and Dr. Chhatwal were kind, polite and very helpful. He identified the problem and had me get redirected to the Hygienist (Lois) who was also very kind and polite. The service was fast and affordable for me. This team was GREAT. they took time to solve my issue and was concerned of my health. Just a little discomfort I had after the deep cleaning, but they assured me if I had problems to contact them. Today I feel great, and my issues were solved. Thanks again Dr. Chhatwal and your team 5 stars given.

Fantastic experience: My husband and i are new patients, its been way too long since we last saw a dentist. Everyone was very kind and welcoming, no one made us feel guilty for putting it off so long. They were accomodating with rescheduling my husbands appt when we failed to fill out his registration in a timely manner, which resulted in the appt being cancelled. They took great care with my husbands teeth, being very informative and transparent about what treatment he needs. Even the receptionists seemed very knowledgeable and shared a lot of great information. During my appt, everyone was so friendly and chatty and personable. The best part was when the hygienist adjusted my safety glasses and placed a little thingy on the bridge of my nose so that it raised the glasses and they stopped squishing my eyelashes, simply because she noticed it seemed uncomfortable. That was such a little thing that made it obvious she cares a lot about her patients. Great place so far, i feel confident that our treatment here will continue to be wonderful.

My hygienist, dentist and the scheduling coordinator made me comfortable by explaining my dental needs and hygiene in detail and with compassion.

Negative experience: They have a whole long explanation of same day dental emergency appointments they provide. I call with an abscess broken tooth and massive face swelling. I was told it would be a week before someone could see me and i would then be referred out of office for an extraction. More time. So same day emergency is BS. Place is a joke.

Fantastic experience: I had my first dental appointment in over 4 years, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I walked in, everyone was so warm and welcoming. But I have to give a special shoutout to Luba, my hygienist—she was absolutely incredible. So kind, gentle, and encouraging. I was honestly nervous going in, but she made the entire deep cleaning process easier than I ever expected. Not only was the care top-notch, but my teeth have literally never looked better. The stains I was most self-conscious about are completely gone, including one that’s been bothering me for years. I left feeling so confident in my smile and so grateful for the experience.

Positive experience: The dental service provided was very good. However, I was prescribed an antibiotic. I was asked what pharmacy I use. I told them the Walgreens in Aberdeen. Later that day I received a call from CVS informing me that my prescription had been filled. I called Dental One informing them of the error. They apologized and asked what pharmacy I use. Again I said the Walgreens in Aberdeen. Later I was notified by Walgreens that my prescription was ready for pick up. I drove to Aberdeen to pickup my prescription only to find out that the prescription was called into the Edgewood Walgreens. I drove to Edgewood!!! I hope they do a better job completing my root canal…..

Fantastic experience: It's tough to feel comfortable with going to the dentist. But I'm feeling more and more comfortable and confident with Dental One. Having been a really good smoker for 35 years (smoke free 11 yrs now) my dental health suffered. After exam with Dentist and Periodontist I have high confidence they will develop a treatment plan with several options. They consider all aspects of care in developing options giving you best bang for the buck treating your condition and situation. Everyone there is courteous professional and competent. The doctors are all skilled with the latest procedures and techniques. And having the various dental disciplines under one roof makes for an efficient collaborative effort. Would not hesitate recommending them.

Negative experience: Recently moved to the area and was looking for a new dentist. I had to take off work and drive a half hour away for this appointment. When I got there, I waited about 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to be seen. Then, when I was taken back, I was told because I was a new patient and didn’t have prior x-rays that only x-rays could be done for my appointment and I would need to schedule another appointment for a cleaning. I’ve never been to a dentist that cannot do an x-ray and a cleaning in the same appointment. I was not told prior to the appointment that a cleaning could not be done the same day. This was a complete waste of my time.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chatwall is, first of all, an excellent dentist. He wants everything to be perfect and will spend as much time and effort as needed to make it so. Beyond that, he has a wonderful personality. He's able to make his patients feel at ease and feel like they're friends. Any questions are welcome and answered fully and clearly

Dr. Chatawal has a great sense of humor and understood my phobia about certain injectable drugs. He worked out a way to alleviate my fears and is willing to work with me to help make me comfortable when I get a filling replaced.

Going through getting two temporary crowns then both permanent crowns can be a little unnerving and a little uncomfortable; but, Dr. Chhatwal and his assistant both take their time, walk you through every step of the way, and always make sure you have a pain free experience! Positive experience: I've been going to Dental One for over 10 years and have always had a great experience—until my last visit. I went in to have a filling done following a root canal. Everything seemed fine for about six months, but then I started experiencing pain. When I returned, the dentist couldn't find anything wrong and advised me to just wear my mouthguard. Still dealing with discomfort, I decided to get a second opinion. I was told there was a pin-sized hole in the filling, which was likely the source of my discomfort. On top of that, I learned that my crown was old and needed to be replaced. I'm disappointed because I’ve trusted this place for a long time. I hope this was just an isolated case, but I wanted to share my experience for others to be aware.

Fantastic experience: I don’t live in Abingdon anymore but I won’t be finding a new dentist closer to me because I just enjoy coming here. The staff is super friendly and they just make everything so easy. It’s worth the drive.

Positive experience: Staff and office environment were very pleasant, kind, organized and clean. I just can't give 5 stars based on appointment availability and no work arounds. You have to wait an extremely long time for follow up treatment and appointments, I'm speaking of 4 months or longer wait time. I guess that's a good problem to have if you're a business owner.

Negative experience: The dental office is nice and the dental staff are friendly, especially the dentist hygienists. I was disappointed when I came for my first dental appointment as a new patient. When I arrived they took dental x-rays and the Dentist came in and reviewed my mouth. He told me that I needed a deep cleaning, in which I totally disagreed with. Before I knew it, they billed my insurance company for the x-rays and then informed me that I had to make another appointment to get my teeth cleaned before I could get a standard cleaning. Fortunately, appointments were available for that same day, so I made an additional appointment. It was a great inconvenience for me to come back twice in one day, but I wanted to get it done and out of the way. The deep cleaning felt like a regular cleaning that I would normally get. Furthermore, I had been to my former dentist 7 months prior and was faithful with going every 6 months for years. I have NEVER needed a deep cleaning. I am a person who takes very good care of my teeth. I had to pay additional money, that I would normally not pay, they billed my insurance company for a second time, for the balance, and told me that the next appointment would be a regular cleaning. I felt scammed. Every dentist that I have been to in the past have taken x-rays and did a regular teeth cleaning at the same appointment visit and then scheduled me for the next 6 months. Now I'm not sure if I made the right choice when I changed my dentist to this company who was recommended by my insurance provider. After reading some of the reviews I see that they have done the same thing to other patients, and you don't have a choice in the matter. Go figure!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chhatwal is a dentist who prioritizes the well-being of his patients. I called to schedule an appointment and was informed that I could come in the following morning, which I appreciated as it allowed me to see the dentist promptly. I would genuinely recommend Dental One to my friends and family.
