My first visit here , I felt safe and heard. Big shout out to Jenny for doing this!!! Everyone I have encountered has been beyond nice and understanding. I have had such horrible experiences at dentist visits in the past; some of the technicians in my past almost threatened me because my blood pressure would go up when I was at the dentist because of anxiety from past experiences. Every one at Atlantic Dentistry was kind and reassuring and thoughtful. Just being treated like a real person with real feelings meant everything to me. Putting your patients at ease instead of making things worse for them is what made it a good experience for me. I had dental surgery, which is not pleasant and the recovery is not painless, but it is all do-able because I was treated kindly. I'm still recovering but I don't feel awful. I will have a nice smile again. Thanks for being so good to me. Well, the whole thing is over with now, and I have my permanent bridge. It feels good in my mouth, but the best thing is I have nice top front teeth and I am believing they will last me for the rest of my life. I can't imagine how I would feel if my right front tooth had fallen out and I couldn't do anything about it. It is nice to look as nice as I can at 71. Thank you Dr. Parham and all the wonderful technicians. All of you treated me like a princess. Very thankful.

I was pretty anxious before but with the sedation and the kindness of the staff I could not have had a better experience. Aside from looking like a chipmunk in a bar fight, all is good. Best of all, absolutely NO pain during or the days after surgery!!!!

Fantastic experience: Called early Monday morning with tooth pain. I was able to be seen by Dr. Marshall at 2:00 on the same day! So happy they could fit me in. She gave me great information, advice and a referral for a root canal. I feel better already (although not looking forward to the root canal).

Fantastic experience: I hate going to the dentist. I had to have dental work done including a filling and prep for a crown. I was quite anxious about it but the staff at Atlantic made the experience as pleasant and as comfortable as they could for me. They made sure I knew what to expect every step of the way. I won't be as anxious next time I have to get dental work done thanks to my experience with them.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Thompson and his assistants and nurses are wonderful. Various procedures to accomplish what you want, as well as the costs, are totally explained. Local anesthetic goes in with very little pain. The procedures, so far, have been pretty fast and painless. If something needs adjusting, you call and they take you in right away to fix it.

Fantastic experience: Great experience!!! We were vacationing in the Outer Banks last week and my 7 y/o ended up with an infection and very swollen mouth. They were able to get her in to be seen the same day I called. My little one was so excited to see Bluey on the TV in the examine room and that kept her calm and relaxed. The nurse and doctor were so kind and took their time to answer any and all questions for myself and my little one. Really made our experience great and then we were able to get back to vacation. Very thankful of all the kind staff.

Fantastic experience: I had such a pleasant experience at my hygiene visit with Deana. She was thorough, gentle, knowledgeable, and kind. And during my exam by Dr. Alex, he took the time to contour, smooth, and polish my newly placed crown. Even though the crown was fabricated by another dentist who did not even make the needed adjustments. Thank you, Dr. Alex, for caring. Fantastic experience: As a busy working mom of 4, I don’t always prioritize taking care of myself. Unfortunately, this resulted in some dental issues that forced me to the dentist. Any time you avoid or put something off, there is always quite a bit of anxiety. In saying that, the staff was incredibly welcoming and put me at ease with their expertise. Negative experience: I've been a patient here for 6 years and have had consistent good experiences... until yesterday! The dental assistant and hygienist were great. When my cleaning was done, I was told that Dr. Parham would be right in. Well, that wasn't the case! The DA kept checking but the doctor was with another patient. When 20 minutes passed, I said I had to go. The DA checked again and the doctor was with a second patient. A hygiene check only takes maybe 5 minutes, why was I being ignored? My time is also valuable. After I confirmed my appointment multiple times, why is it okay that they didn't honor their own appointment time? I feel like I was disrespected and am now considering changing dentists!

I was told I could possibly expect lots of pain post procedure because of how close to the nerve they got. I’m happy to say, little to no pain post procedure. A very pleasant young lady brought me back, got me comfortable and set my next cleaning appointment. Then Emily cleaned my teeth thoroughly as we chit chatted. Positive experience: This is the first time I scheduled routine cleaning at this practice and was not treated by a dental hygienist but by a dentist instead. From my experience, hygienists are much more thorough. The follow up inspection by a second dentist also appear to be very fast and superficial. This is the first time in 15 years that this has happened and suggests scheduling or personnel problems.

Negative experience: Waiting 10 minutes in the chair for dental hygienist to come into room. At end of cleaning they just took me out to the lobby ...didn't even get seen by the dentist!. It felt like they were behind schedule, they needed the room for another patient , so they 'showed me the door'

Fantastic experience: I am very impressed with how quickly you are seen after you arrive. Every person I came into contact with was kind, friendly and professional. Dr. Alex was very informative and kind. Every procedure he performed from stsrt to finish was explained. I never felt pain, even with the novacain needle. Yvette the assistant was great. She took her time and made sure my crown could be seeded correctly. I didnt feel rushed or herded in and out. Dr Alex completed to procedure with professionalism and kindness. The whole experience was good from beginning to end. I definitely would recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Arrived for a tooth extraction and bone graft. It proved to be "gnarly" with a molar that just didn't want to come out! Grateful for Dr Gunther Heyder, Dr Celeste Kendrick and the wonderful assistants, Giselle and Kathy. And also this week, Emily did a great job cleaning my teeth even if I had a few she had to tiptoe around. Atlantic Dentistry has my vote and business. Thanks to all.

Fantastic experience: Came down to OBX on vaca and during trip down from NY I broke a tooth .. arrived on Sat but office was closed .. called on Monday ; explained my situation got me in first thing Tuesday morning.. Everybody was amazing, from the front desk to the staff in the back .. I mean everybody .. very pleasant , nice , explained everything they were doing and checked to make sure I was good while doing procedure … I ended up having to get the tooth pulled .. I was in and out in under a hour .. I highly recommend and will return if need to .. thank you so much for a pain free experience and making me feel better !!!!

Fantastic experience: Very helpful, was six hours from home I broke my front tooth ! They saw me ASAP the very next morning X-rayed and found not only was that tooth broken the one next was cracked as well ! By noon the next day I have two temporary front teeth and crowns are on the way ! They offered to rush them being made but I won’t be back for another two weeks ! Thank goodness I have the temporary ones ! This is like a major disaster but with their help it’s not as bad as it could have been ! Thanks Dr Parham and the wonderful and very helpful assistant. It was an absolute blessing to receive the call back we did, and for them to get us right in for an emergency. She was genuinely concerned for his tooth. And it is so hard to come by truly kind and caring people these days, she has a true heart of gold for what she did for him. We are beyond grateful for Dr. Kendrick and Gisele and the staff from the front desk to billing to the doctors and assistants ensuring he was able to be seen and treated and is no longer in pain or has to worry about his tooth and what we were going to do. They never gave up on him and saving his tooth! They ensured he was comfortable, and treated him with the upmost care and compassion and respected his fears and helped him overcome to get this procedure done. The lady who gave us the call was so kind and helpful as well. Everyone was great! They were right on top of everything and we just feel so blessed and thankful for everything they have done! We are just beyond thankful!!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Positive experience: The staff is nice. I arrived & checked in 20 minutes early & was seen 10 minutes late though only 1 other person was waiting when I arrived. It's never fun but the hygienist, new to me, hurt me several times today. The dentist was new to me too, nice enough but had to wait on her another 5-10 minutes.

Fantastic experience: I suffered irreparable harm from a dentist as a small child. Therefore my dental care was severely lacking. Recently, after relocating here I had a dental emergency and was told to seek treatment from Dr. Heyder of Atlantic Dentistry. Fantastic experience: Vacationing in Corolla a crown came off and needed to be reattached. Despite a fully booked schedule they accommodated me within two hours. Crown inspected, adjusted, reinstalled and I was in my way in 30 minutes. Prompt, professional, friendly service. Oh, and I should mention EFFECTIVE! If I lived here permanently, this would be my forever dentist!

Negative experience: Worth experience ever!! The hygienist was a very moody flipping attitude lady D…who, guess what??! didn’t like when I showed some signs of pain ( moved in the chair) when she poked me with metal tools on a line of the receding gums/ sensitive teeth… * I did in fact inform her of the sensitivity! And asked for numbing She didn’t finish cleaning and left the room??!!! Saying she is done and I need to re-schedule!!! Horrible.. horrible service!!!
