Fantastic experience: I had my semi annual teeth cleaning from their hygienist, Eisnah. She was very thorough, not only cleaning my teeth, but also discussing maintenance. Dr John came in and checked my teeth out. He has given me my annual dental exam over the past couple of years, I am blessed with excellent teeth, but he's great at giving you a very thorough examination! He is very good about spending time with you and is very knowledgeable about all aspects of dentistry. He is also assisted me in helping me keep my teeth looking younger without having to do a lot of expensive cosmetic work! I love his honesty and listening skills! I highly recommend Dr. John Wilson!

Fantastic experience: If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I had never been there before. So I took a chance I had a tooth extracted and it wouldn’t stop bleeding,, I’m on blood thinners so it’s nothing they did, when I text them and told them after 7 DR Miranda had me to come in right away. I was there until almost 8 with them trying to stop the bleeding. When I left it was so much better. Everyone there is beyond nice.
Fantastic experience: My hygienist (Tiffani) did a great and was very personable as well. She gave me good tips on keeping my teeth and gums healthy.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about my dental hygienist! From the moment I sat in the chair, Brooke made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. She’s gentle yet so thorough, explaining everything in a way that’s easy to understand while making sure I felt cared for the entire time. My teeth have never felt cleaner, and I truly appreciate the time and attention she gives to her patients. It’s clear she loves what she does and takes real pride in her work.

Dr. John has always provided the best care for my dental health. A Big Shout Out to Mike, the denture repair specialist. Negative experience: Had a text message confirmed appointment and was told I was not on their books. What's the point of text message confirmation if does not get added to your system? I took off work for this appointment.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Miranda Ritter was kind, understanding and overall caring about the situation. She did an awesome job with Heather Hoover filling my two teeth. The procedure was quick and painless. They made me feel comfortable and did a fantastic job! Dana Zafris at the front was very helpful as well as all of the other staff members. Fantastic experience: Prompt & professional serving our family of five for over a decade. One son recently needed teeth pulled, and Blue Ridge made it work during our typical hygienic visit. Highly recommended from personal experiences.
Positive experience: I have been going to blue ridge family dentistry for years and the workers have always been wonderful. I try to never complain about service especially at the dentist office because I am an RDA part time, but I had a dental assistant at my appointment who was very sweet during my appointment but I could hear her talking about me to the other dental assistants as if I was a burden when she left the room. I was just put into ortho splits a month ago and came in to get them adjusted and the lab tech, who is a very nice lady, came in to fix them after the assistant tried. I wasn’t trying to be a bother, but other than that one disrespectful and very unprofessional moment everything and everybody else have been amazing.

Negative experience: Was to be a New Customer. Set up my appointment for 2 to 3 weeks out, give them my insurance information, hear nothing except for appointment reminders (calls or text almost daily, sometimes 2-3 times a day) leading up to the appointment. Come in for my. Appointment day comes, show up 13 mins early to get my paper work done, only to be told I have to get my last X-rays due to insurance only covering X-rays every 3 yrs, now I get this isn’t Blue Ridge’s problem, but what is blue ridges problem is they could have informed me 2 weeks/ a week, 3 days before my appointment that I needed these so I could them so I had time to acquire them. But here we are, wasting my time, wasting their time, and losing a potential customer, all because they didn’t communicate this.

Negative experience: Dentist and support staff were great . The issue is the billing department . Due to their time line for sumitting claims and not paying attention to the details cost me $1200 out of pocket . By the time they got my claim right they didnt accept the insurance I started with (which they did originally. ) would not dicuss the bill very rude closed my account . I would of hired a lawyer if it didnt cost so much to defend . Never trust their billing department at all .

Fantastic experience: Love this practice! Professional yet friendly hygienists, office staff and Dentists. They always keep my family’s oral health the center of focus. Our family would highly recommend to anyone in need of Dental care including children!
Negative experience: I had a 6 month checkup, said no X-ray’s that were not covered.. get an insurance statement I owe $51.40 … called office, was told X-rays were not fully covered, would have to come in and have new X-ray and they would refile insurance to cover the amount!!! Why should I go back in for X-ray’s I don’t need, why should they take $ from a credit I have of $142.00?….. this is totally bad business……
Fantastic experience: Cleaning today ~Halloween~! Jocelyn did a great job! Very gentle, but very thorough! I highly recommend her hygiene skills and sweet personality! Dr. Molly also adjusted my sleep apnea mouthpiece, and it's useable again after adding a new crown. The costumes and office decorations were lots of fun and very creative! It was a great visit to BRFD!!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Amber is truly a phenomenal doctor. She is SO kind, compassionate and non judgmental. If I could give her 10 stars I would! She does fantastic work and explains things super well. The hygienist, Rita, was also fantastic! So kind, and does a great job. There is another hygienist I really love too, unfortunately I do not know her name. She has blonde hair and is younger. I kept meaning to ask for her name and always forget. Highly recommend these three ladies for how awesome they are!
Negative experience: I never had any issues in the many years of coming here. Over the last 2 years the office staff and billing folks have been terrible. Every time I have been in there someone has had an issue with the billing. They allowed my wife to have work done by a dentist who was not in our network. That caused many issues with the insurance company. It was finally fixed after me making many phone calls. The insurance company allowed a one time fix because of the office screw up. I got my teeth cleaned a few months back and a dentist came in to give my mouth a look over. Thank goodness the hygienist paid attention to my chart and told the dentist he wasn't in my network and I needed another dentist. I'm not sure what they have going on behind the scenes but they will never get another penny from me. Time to find a new dentist.
Fantastic experience: I had two teeth extracted at my first "official" appointment with Blue Ridge Family Dentistry. I could not imagine having a better experience anywhere else. I called the office when I was in pain and they scheduled an appointment for me as soon as possible. After a quick, painless assessment, Dr. Amber prescribed some antibiotics and let me know I needed to have two teeth extracted. After a week of antibiotics, I returned to have the extractions done. The appointment for the extractions was choreographed perfectly to not only do the extractions, but they did a full exam with xrays as well in order to develop a treatment plan. Jocelyn's energy was calm and kind and she had a very gentle touch as she probed to check my bone levels. Kimmy was engaging to talk to and did a thorough job taking the xrays and a superb job assisting Dr. Amber with the extractions. Kimmy reviewed my post-op care with me and made sure I was comfortable with what I needed to do at home to ensure that proper healing took place. During the extractions I was most impressed with how Dr. Amber asked me multiple times if I was doing OK. She told me during the process what I was going to feel at different times, which was mainly pressure and pulling. Dr. Amber also communicated what sounds I would hear based on where she was during the process of extracting the teeth. She encouraged me by letting me know I was doing great during the extractions. Due to Dr. Amber's exceptional communication with me, it was easy to feel calm and comfortable. I knew the entire time that I was in very good, capable and skilled hands. Dr. Amber extracted TWO teeth in less than five minutes. (Hopefully we broke a record). Even if it took 30 minutes for her to extract both teeth, I would have felt confident that I was being cared for properly. They offered to call in 800mg of Ibuprofen. I told them not to, that I would let them know if I needed it. I checked out, which was a flawless process, and made a follow-up appointment. When I got to my car I decided since the office would be closing soon, that I might want to go ahead and get that prescription filled just in case I needed it. I went back into the office to the front desk and Gabby took care of this for me. Gabby even sent me a text letting me know she had called in the prescription to my pharmacy. My entire experience with Blue Ridge Family Dentistry felt like I had won the dentistry lottery. I HIGHLY recommend this dental group. I can't wait to get started on my treatment plan.
Negative experience: If i could do "0" stars I would absolutely the worst. Last visit had to wait 20 minutes this visit showed up 2 minutes late receptionist on the phone talking wouldn't check us in we waited for her to finish it took 7 minutes then she told us we missed our appointment it was at 1:45 it was now 1:55 so we could not be seen. This is the fault of a lazy receptionist. Will NEVER be back here again. We've been patients here for almost 10 years and felt so disrespected.

Negative experience: I have been going to the maryville location for years and had appointment scheduled for 6 months. I showed up 7 minutes past my appointment. Waited in line on the only girl working (while several office staff was gossiping behind her) only to be told. "Your appointment was 15 minutes ago you will have to reschedule " Maybe the reason they have such a high turnover rate. I will Not be going back!!!

Fantastic experience: I LOVE this dental office! I was so apprehensive and anxious when I arrived for 1st visit. But when Smitty took me back and after talking with her I was immediately calm. Dr Ritter is absolutely wonderful. Procedures were explained to me in depth. The office personnel are super nice. The office is beautiful and very clean. We were each called back a few minutes early and done within minutes of each other. Both hygienists did a superb job. The dentist was very friendly and doesn’t pressure you to do unnecessary work. My husband and I marvel at the service in this office compared to our old dentist in another state.

Negative experience: Loved them! Love the dentists. However, instead of contacting me (the patient) when my ex-husband’s insurance didn’t cover my procedure, they just turned me over to collections when the bill (that I never saw) wasn’t paid, even though in the 15+ years of me being a patient, I had NEVER had an outstanding balance. And now I have to find a new dentist. Sad. Office staff completely dropped the ball.

Negative experience: Couldn't have been a worse experience. Left a file in a root, claimed it was normal, even though dentist (who's in his 60's) said it never happen to him before. They still wanted payment in full. When I wanted to come to a mutual agreement to pay for service, I was told work was done correctly, full amount was due, I was being disruptive, my number was going to be blocked, then was hung up on. So, I sent in check for full amount. Totally unprofessional.
Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and they were able to get me in next day, they got me out of pain and the problem taken care of in less than an hour. Everyone there was very welcoming, had a great atmosphere. I think I have found my new dentist! Thank you so much Blue Ridge Family Dentistry!

Fantastic experience: The staff are very nice and professional! They treat you like a person and not a number! I was impressed with the level of their concern regarding pain when getting ready to perform a procedure! Negative experience: This place is a joke! I couldn't make it back to them to finish my teeth and I got a couple teeth pulled in September and I receive a bill 5 months later saying I owe them money I paid everything in full every time with my visit. So I call my insurance this dentist didn't file my claim till December and they processed it the next day and this dentist lied saying it was my insurance and has nothing to do with them?!?! So why is my insurance company saying there is no fees due on my end so where are you guys getting your info from?!?! And she couldn't hold a straight story first it was from filling which I never received oh no I'm sorry teeth extraction?!?! Do not go here
Fantastic experience: I saw Jocelyn for my cleaning today and she is awesome!!! Jocelyn is the ONLY reason I’m giving 5 stars. I look forward to seeing her next time for my cleaning~ Tiffany needs some customer service training. She was very rude to me when I checked in, never said hello or how are you. She was miffed because I didn’t have a new insurance card, nor did I remember our new insurance provider until I accessed my husband’s work site. Positive experience: My hygienist was incredibly kind and thorough. If I could give her service alone a rating I would give her five stars. The dentist I saw was very routine, to the point and didn't speak with me for more than a couple of minutes. On my way out I attempted to schedule an appointment for a family member with no insurance who would be paying out of pocket. The price I was quoted for a simple cleaning at nearly $400 is unaffordable compared to other local dental offices. If you don't have dental insurance you may want to look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: This place is truly wonderful, and the staff is exceptionally kind, especially Brooke. She was pleasant, extremely easy to talk to you, and so so helpful when I was concerned about my tooth before a big vacation. Negative experience: I called the office explain to the front office what was going on with my son, so the lady on the other end suggested I need to bring my child in for X-ray. When I arrive the staff in the front office are always talking about other co workers very unprofessional even ignored I was there so she could finish bashing that co worker to the other staff members in the front office. This just didn’t happen once but every time I’ve came into the office. So then she tells me I need to pay the money upfront so I do so, only to get called back to the hygienist asking why we are there. Long story short they refund all my money except $34 bec of the visit fee not to mention was no fault of mine I only did what the lady at the front desk advised to do. I had to referred out up oral surgeon where they want their own X-ray. So needless to say I will not be going back to the establishment it’s always chaos in the front office and they have no clue on how to run an office. I don’t have anything negative to say about the dentist or the hygienist they are always professional and very knowledgeable.

Negative experience: Nope. This place has royally screwed up my billing on a regular basis. I received a bill from BRFD three years after a service. Yes, three years. It was in an email that looked like spam and didn't actually have the amount owed. It had services and amounts, but those were showing before insurance. It was beyond confusing. I called the day I received this bill, and the woman on the phone was horrendously rude. She said they'd call me back. That didn't happen. My insurance was working on rectifying the situation, as it wasn't within a reasonable time period to all of a sudden send a bill. But the woman handling that situation literally died two days after starting to work on this.... so they obviously get a pass. Fast forward to yesterday... 6 months after the phone call I made to BRFD (the phone call that was made after getting a bill that was 3 years old). I spoke to April. She said there was no record of me calling, then 5 minutes later quoted the notes from the call I had made. I cannot stand when someone blatantly lies to me, but if that's how they do business then so be it. They sent the bill to a collections agency that told me I'd be paying court costs and that the police would be serving me over this. Seriously? I had my credit card in hand to pay the amount that insurance said I potentially owe - but wait... there's more. Insurance let me know that not ONE claim filed to insurance was done properly by BRFD at any point in my history with them. Not. One. They said that it was the sloppiest filing they had ever encountered. So, according to how they filed, I owed $360. Which I would have been happy to pay... but BRFD sent the bill to collections and it magically changed to over $500. April said that since it had been sent to collections, the manager (or someone conveniently not there) would have to look into this. Exactly what happened last time when they weren't able to call back and then lied to me in telling me that I had never called. This manager is out of the office for the next three weeks. So. We wait. I find it incredibly frustrating that as a former patient I am expected to call multiple times to try and pay a bill. Money in hand. Ready to pay. And this place can't get it together to allow payment. Instead, they hide behind a collections agency that uses fear mongering as a way to collect far more than was supposedly even owed in the first place. What. A. Mess. I will say that April finally said she was sorry at the end of the call, so that won some points. But arguing with someone that you did this to isn't cool. Whatever the circumstances may be. I hope you all do better. And I hope this isn't done to anyone else. And one more note that I should have left long ago. I had originally written a positive review a couple of years ago. The manager reached out to me and asked if I would tweak it to mention certain things in the review for better reach. I left it as it was, but that certainly left a bad taste... Who does that?

Negative experience: Worst experience at a dentist imaginable. I now am sitting on a bill for collections after I called multiple times to verify if my claim had been filed. I called after it had been filed and denied because my insurance needed more information. They never resubmitted to my insurance. I have proof of phone calls including a recording of the calls and verification from my insurance that they failed to re-file. Getting ready to take them to court over cost at this point.
Fantastic experience: My old dentist no longer takes my insurance so I had to switch. They also suggested that I needed a crown for my tooth. The wonderful dentist here felt that I don’t need a crown. He’s now my favorite dentist ever! The reception staff were also exceptionally helpful at retrieving my old x-rays, scheduling appointments and filling out paperwork. Thanks so much - really happy that I switched!

Negative experience: I have been going to this dentist for almost a year UNTIL now. I had my 3 wisdom teeth removed in April by Dr. Molly and while she removed my three wisdom teeth I had left. She did a filling for me on my bottom right molar. After I had my 3 Wisdom teeth removed I had part of my bone sticking out from my gum so Dr. Molly told me to stop chewing on that side of my mouth and advised to give it time to heal. So I did and over time the bone went into my gum and all was fine. So once I started chewing on that side of my mouth again my filling started bothering me so I made an appointment and saw Dr. John who said my bite was VERY off and adjusted my filling. Dr. John told me to come back if I had anymore issues. (This was a no charge visit). So about a week I come back again see Dr. John he looks at my mouth says its not hitting anywhere else and says for me to give it some time the nerve in my tooth is just irritated and advised if the pain did not go away he will give me prednisone to calm the nerve down. So its been a month since my last visit. I called today spoke to CHRIS ( VERY RUDE) tell him the whole story and he then goes on to say I have missed appointments ( which I have not?) Tells me the Dr. charged me for my last visit which he should not have done and I told Chris what Dr. John told me stating the visit would be no charge. He advised me Dr.'s dont work for fee and he wanted to know what I wanted? I said, I want good customer service you overfilled my tooth which has now irritated my nerve and how are you going to charge me to fix your mistake? Chris went on to say he was NOT removing the charge and that Dr. Molly could see me tomorrow. Chris stated some thing else is going on and said Dr. Molly can see me tomorrow for a charged visit with an xray. Lets remember this was a filling they overfilled and now my nerve is irritated why am I paying for the office visit and xray? Dr. Molly caused this issue why is it coming out my my pocket? Chris had no compassion. I have missed work 2 times now going back to the dentist. I have never in my life had such horrible service. I am pulling my whole family out of the practice. I really did enjoy the Dr.'s at the practice despite the mess up. All I wanted was to have this filling corrected and fixed by them since this was a mistake on there part. I already paid for the filling, but the manager Chris is out of line and I will never recommend this place to anyone. So now I am switching offices. I would recommend getting a new manager which has people skills NO compassion for the pain and inconvenience they have caused me.

Negative experience: This company's billing department is as awful as other reviews claim. I have NEVER been sent to collections in my life and pay all of my bills on time, so I was extremely surprised to get a collections letter in the mail TWO AND A HALF YEARS after my last dentist visit... I moved to a new residence in March 2020 and my last appt here was in Oct 2020. During my October appt, no one asked me to fill out a change of address form (or even verified that it was the same). I changed my address through the post office and had no issues receiving other medical bills. I've also had the same cell phone number my whole life, and did not receive even ONE call/voicemail/text regarding an open balance. No emails either, which is odd because they told collections they "exhausted their best efforts" to reach me... What efforts?? I've been trying to reach someone on staff all week to politely ask a couple questions and get clarification as to what went wrong in reaching me. I've left 3 messages (two voicemails and one message with a staff member) with no word back. Today, the collections agency told me: "If we're being honest, they aren't going to call you back. I know for a fact the person you asked to speak to was there." (I was told she wasn't) The collections worker went on to share that Blue Ridge refuses to speak to anyone about these billing issues because they "sent out about a hundred letters at once, so how would we get anything done?" Improving the billing process would be a great start in minimizing that in my opinion. I'm sure there are people who don't pay their bill, but as someone who would've paid YEARS ago, a $155 collections fee on top of the original bill is ridiculous. All they had to do was call me. My family and I won't be back.
Fantastic experience: I love this office. My 12 year old daughter and I came in to establish care for both of us and talk about braces for her. The staff made everything so easy, they listened to my concerns as well as hers and made both of us feel heard. She had x-rays, pictures and scanning done for braces and dental assistant Michael joined in her giggling pre-teen fun and made it a great experience for her. Side note for those who are looking for this sort of thing: I have bad dental history and executive disfunction that basically means I don't take good care of my teeth. Nobody was judgmental, and only one person made me feel guilty about it, but even that, I am certain, was unintentional and well meant. The people here are laid back, compassionate, and really there to help.

Fantastic experience: Great Dental Group. Friendly and courteous staff! Highly recommend, if you're having dental problems these are the ones to take care of them. Last week on Friday I called and explained I had a severe toothache it ended being a fractured tooth and had to be extracted. They were over booked on that day. Then gave me an appointment for Monday. The Doctor knew what the problem was immediately and said best option was extraction. I agreed and he extracted the tooth I went home afterwards and am again happy and paid free. Blue Ridge Dental in Maryville Tennessee is awesome!!!!

Negative experience: The worst managed business there is. They have great dentists and hygienists, but their business office and financial team are garbage. They put little to no effort into reaching out to you regarding a bill owed. They make false claims about trying to reach out to get the bill paid and then sending it over to Maryville Collection Service. We went on a trip and had our mail forwarded and apparently the bill was kicked back to them. They said they texted us regarding a bill owed, but no text was received. They also said they emailed an invoice, but it came from some random address and Gmail claimed it was junk. Now I get to pay a collection fee for their incompetence. I called to get clarification and was greeted with hostility from April making some bogus remarks about having trouble getting payments. If you go here for dental work, be sure to know what is owed and check in on them often, because they definitely won't do their job.
Fantastic experience: This was the first time visiting Blue Ridge Family Dentistry since I just moved to the area and personally dentists are my favorite people .I was so amazed how professional and sweet the front desk people were. I got to see Dr. Miranda she was so nice and made me feel so comfortable . She took the time to explain everything that needed to be done and wasn’t in a rush like I experienced with some other dentists. She is amazing and I would definitely recommend people to this practice!

Negative experience: The billing department completely ruins this practice. I’ve received the same bill twice. The first time, the woman I originally spoke with the day of my appointment assured me that it was their mistake and that I did pay the correct amount the appointment prior to my service and that she would take care of it. 6 months later, I receive the same bill. I call again, on a Monday, and was told that they see that note on my account but no one from billing is in the office that day as they are only there Tuesdays and Thursdays. Odd, but okay. I receive a call back on Wednesday. The person I spoke with was instantly hostile and aggressive. I explained what the previous person told me and all kinds of excuses were made (no apology though). She argued and argued, but every time I spoke she just said ,” I’m not going to argue about this with you.”Basically, someone told me wrong and no one bothered to do anything about it until I called AGAIN. She then tells me there was a mistake on my bill where they overcharged me, so who knows what else they’ve missed and she took it off, like she did me a favor by not overcharging me. I did get finally get an “apology”, if you want to call it that, because of the employees mistake. I see through the reviews that this is apparently a common issue. I cannot recommend using their services due to poor billing practices.
Fantastic experience: Blue Ridge Family Dentistry have managed to hit the sweet spot of efficient but also caring. I always feel that they are taking the time to pay attention to me and any issues or needs I have, and yet I am always in with minimum waiting. Our whole family relies on Blue Ridge, including for a son's orthodontia. Highly recommended!
