Negative experience: The office staff here needs better training. I had been going here for years because I loved my dentist but when I called a few days ago for an emergency appointment for a very painful tooth, they thought December 4th was an appropriate date. I found a dentist who saw me right away, I won't be going back to West Cape.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I left our old dentist because of a bad experiences. We chose West Cape and are very happy with everything. Setting up an appointment was easy and they were able to see us in a reasonable amount of time. The office staff was friendly and polite. My hygienist was apparently new to the practice but was very kind, explained everything well, and was gentle. The dentist (Dr. Izzy) was nice, went over everything, made sure I understood my treatment options, and made me very comfortable.

Fantastic experience: The novacaine was painless and the procedure to fill my two teeth was careful and detailed. Totally painless even when the numbing wore off.

Negative experience: Today I had my first visit after been waiting for more than 3 months for this appointment. I had some allergies; and because that the front desk lady told me that in that condition, they cannot provide me with any service, that I need to schedule a new appointment, because they had to close the office for 3 weeks due to a patient with Covid. I explained her that is not a flu is just allergies, but she insisted that I should get better first and then call for another appointment. I understand their concerned but as doctors they are supposed to have measures to assist patient like me, or at least at that moment schedule me a new date. I took my day off for nothing, a waste of time. Sometimes a bad customer attendance might ruin a good doctor practice. Probably is a good dental office but I didn't have the opportunity to prove it.

Negative experience: Went there for my real first appointment for a cleaning. Had more extras than I have ever had at any dentist office. Before cleaning they said I needed a deep cleaning on two teeth. I asked how much the hygienist after checking with the front desk she came back and told me my insurance covers it 100%. I said ok. My appointment was at 11:00 am. I walked out of there at 1:45pm. I had to wait for the dentist. The hygienist apologized for the super long wait and said oh wow this is lunchtime, maybe somebody can grab me lunch. She was very concerned about her lunch time. Fast forward to today, one day after and Diane called from the dentist office and informed me that there was a $473.00. If I knew that, I would NEVER had said yes. Total bait and switch. So very upset. I am suppose to go back on Tuesday and not sure if I am going to continue with this practice. They should be ashamed.

Fantastic experience: Saw Sandra today for my 6month cleaning. She was kind, communicated with me about the process and gave me one of the best cleanings i've ever had. I've been coming to WCFD for probably 5 years now and as usual , im grateful for the team and their services.

Negative experience: First impressions are everything. Took time off work to Wait an hour in a room to see a doctor that never showed up. Very disappointed because I really had high hopes for this experience.

Positive experience: Not too happy with dental hygienist (a last minute fill in for my regular hygienist). She was very rough though the end result was good.

Fantastic experience: Dentist explains what he’s doing and why and what to expect at every stage of procedure. Assistant is right there to assist in everything. Fully equipped and looks new. Price is discussed before starting and in my case turned out to be zero. All staff is very friendly and bi-lingual. I speak only English and they do to me clearly. I couldn’t be more satisfied.

Positive experience: Had to wait and hour after my appointment time before being seen.

Negative experience: Went for my semi annual cleaning and was told as I was leaving that I owed $105.00. This never happened before,l was told for the fluoride treatment and xrays which I should have been made aware before they did these treatments. No one seemed to care! I paid $105.00 and canceled my next appointment and let them know I would not return as a patient. Again I left and no one seem to care

Negative experience: I’m sorry I need to give a bad review but I won’t be back. The hygienist procedures I had done were the roughest I’ve ever had in my life. Neither the hygienist or the dentist introduced themselves & I just felt like I was just another number. I know fluoride is important but how she left my mouth & lips to leave an office was deplorable. I’ve never had so many various kinds of Xrays & don’t know if that’s good or bad or just another way to charge insurance.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, I think we’ll keep them. Since moving down here to S.W. Florida it’s been difficult to find doctors and dentist offices who actually care about your health etc. Oh a dentist offices who are not trying to up sell you with services not necessarily needed to pump up the bill. These people are honest.

Negative experience: We called this place june 10 2025 to see if they excepted our insurance the girl on the phone no. We hung up few mins. another lady called back on june 10 2025 and told us they do except our insurance took our information made a appointment for Thursday july 17 said your ready made sure we would be there a month later. This was for a tooth that broke in half told us if it get infected or has alot of pain called us immediately. July 17 arrived at dentist told it was canceled because we didn't confirm my appointment. They sent a text June 10 and called twice well that's the day I made the appointment they called us to make appointment. Checked our phone log when we called it was june 10 so it was canceled the same day I made the appointment. Told me sorry can't do anything it was canceled then show me a copy of text they sent to me same day I made the appointment. Then said you have to reschedule first available was an month away august really. The text doesn't say needs to be confirmed you tell me photo below. But says I have a appointment see in Someone needs to do a better at this. My ride took hours off work we wasted our time going to this place. Very unprofessional I do not recommend the place. Should of read the others bad reviews seem I'm not the only one this has been done to. This is a ongoing problem.

Negative experience: Honestly, this was my first time visiting the dentist on my own, without much support so i was figuring things out. They send out tons of calls to confirm the appointment, but never asked for appropriate times. They interrupt me in the middle of work every single time, but sometimes i can’t answer:( And so when they do get in touch with me i can’t brush this feeling/tone that they’re annoyed or judging me for me being “hard to reach”. If they ask for good times to call that would be way better (i honestly thought they did ask in the paperwork and i put good days down, maybe it was overlooked or i’m thinking of different paperwork) When I scheduled an appointment they contacted me a day before to let me know my insurance wasn’t filled out properly, sadly it was a really busy day for me when they called and i missed that message. Showed up the next day, but because they need to check for proper insurance way in advance, we rescheduled for a month later. I understood, even though it sucked. It’s my first time and I made a mistake by not giving them proper info. The office ladies were really over explaining everything, i’m not sure if they were just trying to help me learn for my next appointments, but at the same time i felt this passive aggressiveness. So we got all the insurance paperwork figured out and she told me i was set up for next time. Come to ONE day before my rescheduled appointment. They’re calling me (while i’m at work again) and said they need more information from my insurance and they still need to call the insurance agency and confirm (a process they explained to me takes a long time to do, reason why they have to do it in advanced). So my main concern here is why are they waiting til the last minute to check on the insurance?? We had the first appointment a month ago where the corrections could’ve been made during any point. Anyways, It obviously doesn’t feel right to me and this doesn’t look like the dentist office for me at all. They were giving out sugar-free pink lemonade when I stopped in tho. So…

Negative experience: Came back to change my review because my favorite provider is gone and the hygienist and other staff isn’t up to the standards they used to be. They’re high pressure for upsale on lots of out of pocket measures and resistant to helping young patients manage their first non-pediatric dentist experience. “No,” is a full sentence and so is “Next time, please.” Because they were resistant to hearing both in regards to preventative or basic measures without urgency, my family and I are moving on. They can go juice turnips to get their final payment on extra X-rays that I told them my insurance would not cover and didn’t want nor need. Honestly so happy to go elsewhere. Their office is clean and fairly calm so they can have 2 stars.

Negative experience: First time patient with west cape family dental. They performed a very painful gum test where they poked my gums, and told me I had 5 cavities. I returned 5 times to have each cavity filled. I called to make an appt for a cleaning but if you dont go for a cleaning literally every 6 months they treat you as a new patient and the "gum test" is mandatory or they will not see you. Diane at the front desk was extremely rude and Maggie the office manager was very unhelpful. They have no one else to talk to and no cooperate office so they say. If Im going to be considered a "new patient" I will most definitely be going anywhere else. Also they told me I owed $40 from my last visit, however no one ever contacted me they just sent my bill to collections and I had to pay 58.91 because of the fees. thanks.

Fantastic experience: Arleti my Hygienist is awesome! I have very thin gums now that I’m older and she is detailed and does a thorough job. She lets me have a children's toothbrush too. Merlene

Positive experience: Everyone there was super friendly. In my opinion, the dental hygienist complicated things a bit, and brought up things that didn’t even need to be brought up. Within the first 30 minutes, it had been decided that we could go no further until the actual dentist came in and took a look at everything so everyone could decide what the treatment plan would be. It took another hour and a half before I saw the dentist mainly because the dental hygienist kept going back-and-forth on things and confusing the hell out of me. none of it was intentional, I truly think she thought I was not understanding what she was saying, and kept repeating things even discussing what would happen if I refused the treatment plan. I never once mentioned refusing anything. I was simply waiting to see the dentist so we could decide next steps. next steps have been established and I am moving forward. I will continue my treatment with that dental office.

Negative experience: Update 6/11/25 Terrible communication and poor transparency. I’ve reached out multiple times for updates on a billing issue and was never informed that our insurance appeal was denied. I specifically asked for a cost estimate before my wife’s procedure and never received one—not even after waiting over a month. After the treatment, we were unexpectedly billed for a portion insurance didn’t cover, and the office claimed it was our responsibility. What’s worse, they apply excess insurance payments to your “account” without informing you, and you only find out when a balance suddenly appears. They also accused me of being disrespectful, which is completely false. Overall, this practice feels more focused on billing than on patient care. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for honest, responsive dental service. Had multiple visits with this office in one year due to a cavity with that evolving into a root canal after a filing. I was overcharged on my filing appointment and not informed of any credits until I was surprised with a lower bill for my root canal. The experience was with a loaner dentist since the office is short staffed and a fairly new dental assistant. It was clear she didn't know what she was doing as I sat drowning in spit and the most painful part of the procedure was her taking my xrays. They booked me for over a month out to put on my crown and canceled my cleaning to only be re-booked 3 months later. As I'm writing this review I'm sitting in their waiting room for 30 mins.

Negative experience: My 84 yo mother and 61 yo husband, both experienced the same cancellation problems. I called in to verify they would both be there within one week of the appointments, when they arrived for their scheduled appointments, the office denied them the scheduled cleanings because they didn’t answer their phones the night before. They didn’t respect the time my husband took from work nor business he lost. I would never recommend this practice. I thought the first time someone just had a bad day. But, when they turn away my private pay Mom, they don’t need business. No apologies, no response from a dentist we still have not met, nothing.

Fantastic experience: It was extremely frustrating. I had a 10am appointment, confirmed exactly 5 times in a variety of ways, yet all they told me was that I “was not checked in.” I waited 2hrs 5 minutes before I was seen.

Negative experience: I had a fantastic experience getting my teeth cleaned and I’ve been a patient there for many years!… However!! You literally took the legs right out from under me because instead of my email or my name you put my dad’s name. Pup Wallace. He’s never been a patient ever there! And he died a year ago!!! Seriously!! I’m heartbroken that this mistake happened and I’m not really sure how or why it did!!

Fantastic experience: Entering the West Cape Family Dental, I noticed how friendly, happy and accommodating everyone was. Each technician was comforting and reassuring. The equipment they work with is "state of the art", like I had never seen before. The Dr. customized his work just for me. Nothing hurt! Through the procedure, they continually asked how I was doing. West Cape Family Dental is the most outstanding dentists office I have ever been to. Tears came to my eyes, knowing I was finally in good hands. The world would be a better place if medical facilities all functioned with the special care and concern shown at West Cape Dental.

Negative experience: Update: I'm not sure what changed in the last two years since I have been going to the office. I received a text on Dec 31, 2024 stating that if I changed dental insurance, I should call the office before my next appointment. Thought that was strange never received this before in over two yrs. So I called only to find out THEY canceled my cleaning appointment and was told that people change insurance every year, so this is pretty much standard. I advised the person No I have not, and I do not change every year. In fact, o have had the same insurance for 8 years. I asked who canceled it, and she said she did not know. I called the office and left a message for the office manager, and of course, I never heard back. Just called back today, Jan 15, 2025, only to be dismissed by Diane when I asked questions about the appoint ment being cancelled. I called back and canceled my appointment with Ashley Jan 15, 2025. Will go elsewhere. Why would they cancel an appointment that is over 4 months out without knowing whether or not there was a change, and the text says to call before your appointment to let them know if it changed. They already canceled it. Really,

Fantastic experience: My first experience with West Cape Dental was pribably the most confortable and at ease I ever was! The front office staff was very politie and helpful with insurance information. My hygienist was the absolutely best! Never have I felt so at ease and not in pain during a cleaning, just an extremely gentle technique. The dentist listened to my main concerns so we know where to start with my treatment plan and also has a very pleasant personality. I just switched dental clinics bc I was extremely unhappyafter several years of BS. I’m confident when treatment begins, I’ll be in very capable hands! Bringing my entire family in and switching their dentists so we can finally have one dentist who treats all ages!

The front desk receptionist that originally helped me was so kind and concerned to make sure my daughter was okay and taken care of. Fantastic experience: I was very nervous about getting a root canal, but Dr.Tanner and their team at ”West Cape Family Dental” made the entire process smooth and stress-free. From the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. The staff was friendly and professional, and they explained every step of the procedure in detail, which really helped calm my nerves. I walked in with major pain and he got me scheduled in the next day Dr. Tanner was incredibly gentle and made sure I was comfortable throughout the treatment. I was surprised by how little discomfort I felt, both during and after the procedure. The attention to detail and the care they provided was exceptional. If you’re looking for a skilled and compassionate dentist, I highly recommend Dr.Tanner. They turned what I thought would be a scary experience into something manageable and even pleasant!

Fantastic experience: Dec 2024 UPDATE: West Cape is my year round dentist now! My hygienist Arletty is THE BEST! The entire staff is super nice and helpful. If you want to enjoy your dreaded trip to the dentist, West Cape is your choice. They are great! This is a great dental experience in the NW Cape :-) I am visiting from NY, so of course I break a tooth and have no local dentist. I look for providers on the MetLife Website and start researching dentists in the NW Cape. TG I was able to get into West Cape Family Dental that same day. The experience was one of the best for me. Diane was great on the phone and equally great explaining my Metlife benefits to me in the office. I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Daniel Izaguirre and his fabulous assistant Jessie. You really can believe all these google reviews. The place is super convenient for NW Cape. The entire office staff seems happy to be there AND Dr. Daniel Izaguirre is smart, sweet, efficient and I almost can't wait for the next appointment! The doctor and Jessie kept me informed at every step, always checking if I was ok and comfortable. They know what they are doing people, no need to look further :-)

Negative experience: I would DETRACT stars if I were allowed to. Had several crowns done here by Dr. Choi. Astonishing! Temp crown came off in under an hr eating noodles. Next one lasted a week. When the crown arrived it was obvious they did not take the mold correctly. Crown was so far off they had to grind it for 30 mins to make it fit. By then it was so thin it brike in less than 30 days. When one didnt fit she took to grinding down a perfectly fine toothe above the crown by 50% to make the poorly moulded crown fit. I was outraged. "7: trips to the needle to do "1" crown, which eventually fell out. NONE of the 4 crows were even near the right fit, can't take an accurate mold. I had to have ALL 4 crowns replaced by another dentist one by one as they all failed in under a year. Some in just a month. When the next dentist saw the broken crown he said it was so THIN he thought it was the GLUE. They were all cast so poorly they had to be ground entirely too much weakening the crown greatly. WHORRIBLE work. Then dammaged a perfectly fine tooth. I had an attourney who was willing to file malpractice on my behalf, but I since moved out of the country entirely and didnt want to deal with it. In the end I had to pay for 4 more crowns and go through all that pain again. INCOMPITANT... stop, just stop....

Fantastic experience: I recently visited West Cape Dental at my daughter’s visit. From the start friendly smiles in which she felt at ease. Dr. Izaguirre and Dr. Tanner are very educational and knowledgeable with state of the art diagnostics. She’s on her way to a great smile. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: I have been a long term patient. While it is a revolving door for staff, my visit on 08/93/2021 was excellent from intake, tech exam and Dr consultation. I got a reasonable treatment plan and explained my options. Persons were pleasant and professional. Physical building is nice and Covid precautions are adhered to if that matters to you.
