I went in for a consultation and no real intention of getting braces, but they were all so informative, helpful and full of great personality that it made me feel more than comfortable enough to get braces right on the spot. I always wanted braces, and I went to the perfect place for them! Dr. Chawla is always so kind and cares just as much about you having a beautiful, healthy smile as you do. They don’t have any hidden charges or fees. they charged me only what explained in the beginning. Negative experience: Hours are terrible for working parents. My son’s brackets have broken off multiple times and the orthodontist blamed him and threatened to charge us extra. I am already paying you $5000. What do you mean you are going to charge extra?? Not very happy.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Chawla has been absolutely terrific! There are so patient with questions from finance issues to my son need for in depth explanations about the whole process. We just finished our first stage of treatment, expander, retainer and 6 months of braces. The orthodontist and technicians were so great with my son and he has sensory issues and struggled with each step but they walked us through with ease, comfort and care. We really appreciated the all in pricing and how quickly they got him in the multiple times he pulled out a wire or bands and they got him quickly and easily fixed up each time. We were nervous about starting at age 8 but the doctor helped us see how beneficial it would be in the long run and we are amazed by how great his teeth look already. There is nothing more I could ask for in an orthodontic team and they really are a team.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and pleasant atmosphere. The staff is accommodating and welcome all with a smile. The physician Dr. Chawla and Dr. Vij are so down to earth, explains in detail on progress and treatment plans. Has done a great job with my son's smile. I totally recommend this office.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at this place is incredible. All of the staff are patient, kind and explain every step of the process in great detail. I brought my daughter in for a minor procedure and she had a very rough time. Jenny was an absolute saint. A procedure that should have only taken five minutes ended up taking an hour and was ultimately unsuccessful due to my daughter's reservations and anxiety. Jenny remained patient and incredibly kind throughout. I believe even she even missed her lunch break to help my daughter get through the experience. She couldn't have done anything more to help. I can't recommend Chawla Orthodontics enough.

Fantastic experience: I have to say these are the best people I had specially Mina as a special request she is perfect in my eyes with what she does !! I had braces for 3rd time knowing my ropes with how they are supposed to feel . Just this one time I had it here with braces . Dr Sumit Chawla is the best makes you feel like you are one of them or like family !! And any questions they are great they are like family ! Negative experience: Horrible they never fixed my teeth after 4 years. Never changed my wire I got my braces taken off & my teeth look the same as day 1. Money wasted ! For sure need a refund !

Dr. Chawla is genuinely caring and deeply committed to his patients’ well-being. My son started treatment approximately six years ago and took a break to allow his adult teeth to come in. Negative experience: Note: This establishments financing department lacks communication. Arrangements made to debond in time for wedding. Took the day off work and made payment then received multiple calls about braces NOT being removed as scheduled and agreed. Definitely not a good experience. I come from a background where your word means everything. Very unprofessional to go back on your word, but I guess this is the world we live in now. Will take my business elsewhere.

Thanks for your review. Unfortunately, there is no orthodontic office that would remove braces without payment for the treatment provided. Financing options that are given to patients and families are to help make braces more affordable. Our goal is to make high quality orthodontic treatment as easy and affordable as possible. If a person wants braces removed when treatment is complete, they would have to pay their balance. The contract signed by every patient in office states that financing is given based on a credit card on file and that payments must be made in a timely manner, if a patient requests to remove braces after the majority of treatment is complete, the full balance is due. The contract you signed is your word, so it seems you are not keeping your own word. Let us know if we can be of any help in the future. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing orthodontists office. I can’t speak highly enough of them. My daughter is near the end of her braces journey and it has been great. Fantastic experience: Dr. Chawla and staff were excellent! I felt that my daughter was in good hands. All the staff were very polite! She is 7 years old and had to have her tooth pulled. She was extremely nervous. Dr Vij, the pediatric dentist, was amazing! I was able to stay in the room with her and he was very polite and attentive to my questions and concerns. He talked my daughter through the whole process and made her feel comfortable. He made sure that she did not feel any pain! She was also able to watch her favorite show on tv while he worked on her tooth. My daughter left the office saying that Dr Vij is her favorite doctor!

Fantastic experience: Editing my review: I moved in the middle of my treatment and it WAS KNOWN that I’d have to move. I was told that all of the X-rays and molds we took would be used so I wouldn’t have to travel home. Well fast forward I lost my retainer and now I’ve been given the run around about getting a new one. “Well it would be best if you came in” as if I had a plane just sitting around but unless you plan on living there forever they’re great! I love Dr. Chawla! Both offices are so warm and inviting, the staff really makes you feel at home. They’ve made this entire experience so comfortable for me.

Negative experience: When I finally obtained dental insurance from my workplace, this was the first office I went to for my yearly cleanings and checkups. My first few visits were fine but then as time went on, these weird bills started arriving in the mail and they were desperately trying to convince me to do orthodontist work and wisdom teeth removal that wasn't necessary at the time. Ultimately, I will no longer return here because they nickel and dimed me for 2 years.
Hi Samantha! This review is for the wrong place as we are an orthodontic office, not a general dental office. We hope you will remove your false review as it does not pertain to our orthodontic practice.
In the meantime, we would like to respond to your nickel and dime comment—Whether an office is in network or out of network makes a difference in what you would have to pay, but having dental insurance does not mean dental care will be free. Your copays are billed to YOU, and legally you are supposed to pay copays that are due. That wouldn’t be called nickel and diming, that would be called paying for services rendered. Also, when a dentist refers you to a specialist such as an orthodontist for braces or clear aligners or an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth removal, they’re referring you based on what they see and what’s best for your dental/oral health (we assume you’re go to see a dentist who cares about this).
We hope that you’re able to find a GENERAL dentist that suits your needs and in the future you understand that nobody is nickel and diming you, they are charging you for healthcare services that were rendered to you.

Fantastic experience: A warm a inviting office with friendly and knowledgeable staff that also offer convenient financial options. Dr. Chawla is an extremely personable man, who's demeanor relates like the kind next door neighbor, his Ortho room is well thought out to facilitate it's ease of function and oversight; everyone works side by side yet no one space impedes on the other. Moreover in the 10 months that my son has been his patient his orthodontic transition has been smooth with minimal pain, his teeth are nearing perfection and I must admit that I am impressed with the process thus far and will be bringing my daughter here for her braces next.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chawla does amazing work and his assistant Mina is awesome. They are both so sweet and I trust them whole heartedly. Appointment times are very accommodating and times I've had an issue with my braces the staff always got me in at a convenient time. I bring my daughter here and when my son is ready I plan on bringing him to see Dr Chawla as well. The office and staff carry a great vibe and both the Westmont and Villa Park locations are amazing.
