Fantastic experience: My Hygenist Ms.Rene Washington is so thorough in her work, I always leave her station feeling that deep clean feeling, plus her oral hygiene guidance is a plus, Dr. Leydi Barrios which I met today was very friendly and knowledgeable in what she was doing. Fantastic experience: I am so Grateful! I’m changing my son’s and our family dentist first thing Monday. We had an emergency, painful dental moment with my son and I called my Dentist for help. No one ever called me back. I found South Shore Dental online and they answered right away, so nice and understanding of my stress for my son, the Dr had seen his last patient but stayed to see us they were LITERALLY ALL so nice and thoughtful, from the front desk to the assistant to the dentist to the employee that checked us out. It’s just honestly the kind of culture in the medical community as a patient or patients parent, that we experience anymore I never take the time to write reviews but had to give back some appreciation.

Fantastic experience: I have been to this dental office for about 10 years or so I think. The woman who deep cleans my teeth is amazing - her name is Rodi. She is excellent at her job ny teeth are very smooth from plaque removal. I also had a new young woman examine my teeth today and she was great as well. I have had Dr. Greg and another main dentist complete crowns and root canals. I highly recommend this dental office. Very professional with excellent dental procedures. Thanks

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience here A+ Setup the initial cleaning and work up to be able to get my teeth whitened. Kristina was phenomenal from start to finish. She was super personable and you can tell she’s an experienced hygienist as she worked flawlessly and explained every step that was happening. One thing that stood out to me are the systems that are put into place from the initial call. Spoke to the receptionist (she was really nice and very informative about all the services I had questions on, I setup appt with her, get a text with patient info to fill out, got a link about 15 mins before to check in via phone when I’m in parking lot, greeted by the receptionist, went right in (10 mins early), Kristina knocked it out the park from X-rays to cleaning to educating, dentist comes in and does her thing (honestly wasn’t impressed with this part, literally was likes 2 mins in and out), then got walked to check out, receptionist in check out super friendly and made follow ups and even appts for my gf. The office is like a U shape when you walk in and it’s just very efficient and well run. I would highly recommend SSDE and their expertise.

Fantastic experience: I never thought I’d be saying this but visiting South Shore Dental is the best dental office I’ve ever been to. My experience from the moment I walk in until I leave is pleasant. They are all great. My dental Hygienist is the best. When you make an appointment ask for her. The dentists all have amazing bed manner. They take the time to explain procedures and make you as comfortable as possible. If you’re in search for a great dental office, this is the place.

Fantastic experience: Today I met their new dental hygienist Fabricio who was absolutely amazing! Probably the best hygienist I have ever met and I’ve met many. Wow! What an amazing experience. I felt like I had a spa session and not a cleaning. P.S. I must also add that the manage David is the glue to this place. Excellent leadership skills!

Fantastic experience: My first visit was an emergency visit on a Sunday. From the moment I entered the office, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist. Every concern was reviewed by wonderful Dr. Barros and her staff. Amazing updated equipment, and hygienist explanation and work ethics were immediately noted. My treatment will continue with Dr Barros; who projects knowledge,technic, and compassion for a patient who is uncomfortable with the dental process.

Negative experience: Update: June 8, 2025 - ive requested my itemized billings for previous years on May 14, 2025. I've yet to receive my billings. I followed up with another email and I was ignored. I will update my review with more information. Overall I recommend this dentist office. They do great work. However, be careful of the sales tactics. Also, billing can be questionable. I had a procedure done last year. I spoke to my insurance company they stated that I overpaid the provider. I called and confronted the billing department. Fran apologized and stated that she would look into the issue, and if I overpaid I would be refunded. 6 months later I went in for quick procedure just to find out that I received a $300 credit. No response from Fran or anyone else in the billing department. I'm still confused on how this could've happened. No one mentioned that I had a credit. Very shady!

Fantastic experience: The women who worked with me were excellent! The dentist and the assistant both showed good knowledge of the science as well as customer service. I appreciated being told everything that was going happen before it happened. I do wish it was possible to make the prices more reasonable. Then again, I guess you pay for what you get because they slipped me in today within a few hours of me breaking a tooth after eating some really crispy sourdough bread.

Fantastic experience: Excellent business. I took my daughter there on a Saturday because no one else was open. My daughter had a spring break on her braces. I was amazed at how nice, respectful, and willing everyone at this facility was when it came to checking in, diagnosing the issue, fixing the issue, ensuring the issue was actually resolved, and payment time. I was so impressed, I am switching my entire family to this dental office for our future care. Oh and they love veterans.

Fantastic experience: I can tell that I had a broke tooth and I called them today and the lady at the front desk was very helpful. The best thing is they was open on Sunday and didn’t charge me for an emergency appointment. I think her name was Stacy and this was at the Big bend office. So I got the tooth pulled and the Dr Leydi Barros and her helper that today pleased me so much. I will tell you to go to see her for sure.

Fantastic experience: Called for an appt on a Sunday and got right in. From the check in to the dental assistant to Dr Bustos himself, everyone was extremely kind, gentle and actually LISTENED to my concerns. The whole process was quick and easy and I have no concerns with my next appointment. Thank you to the Dental Excellence team at South Shore. You all were amazing at calming my nerves and explaining what was going on.

I scheduled over the weekend for an emergency procedure and was able to secure an appointment all while being a new patient. The front office is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the dentist and staff worked diligently to resolve my dental emergency. I am usually terrified of dental procedures but the staff put me at ease and the whole process was quick and pain- free. This office quickly went from being my emergency dental option to now being my regular dentist. Definitely worth more than 5 Stars! Thank you, Dr. Avril and Staff!

Positive experience: Dr. Rob and the staff is great! He is honest, told me from the beginning what his expertise was, and since I had to get a referral for a dentist who works on their team, my consultation and xray fees were waived til my next visit. I would have given five stars, but I had to wait a little bit before I was seen due to many patients being seen.

Fantastic experience: Okay so this is my second review for SSDE because one just isn’t enough! Selfishly, i kinda wanna gate keep this fabulous office but that would be just plain wrong! My visit was for a cleaning turned into something else entirely… I was putting off getting a crown..( time, money, pain.. etc) but they had time to do it after my cleaning and offered the service to me… ALL my fears were totally unfounded .. Price- very fair Time- couldn’t have been more efficient Pain- NONE.. But the real real was PATRICK… he is such a professional.. knows his job.. is VERY supportive .. and talked to me the whole time! By the time the procedure was completed. Patrick and I were besties.. in fact. Patrick is getting hitched in a few weeks and I just know my invitation is arriving anyday.. I also have to acknowledge Rohde (sp) if I were plaque, tarter , stain, I would run and hide from that chick… she does not play!!! So so thorough.. !! Also, my girls JoJo, Diane, and Tanya!!! Thank you Ladies… you are the A TEAM!!! Dr C.. ( I got no chance of remembering your name) but i remember your expertise and efficiency… you got it done sir.!! Positive experience: Had to go to urgent dental care i had a bad decayed tooth, staff and dr were very nice qnd helpful but the bill was unbelievable for such a small procedure and i ended up going to another clinic

Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience at South Shore Dental. I need a crown repaired and met with the staff and Dr.Mark Behm in their nicely appointed office. Very nice. Everyone was attentive and moved me swiftly through registration then into an examination room. Dr. Behm was thorough in checking out my problem and fixing it. The staff was very well training and were right there to help Dr. Behm. A class operation I’d call it. I definitely recommend South Shore Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never been one to have any particular attachment to a dentist office but I love this place! Everyone who works here is fantastic, from the hygienists to the dentists and the office staff. Friendly people who genuinely care and seem to enjoy what they do. I learned more from my first time here (shoutout to Heather) than I’ve ever learned from a dentist visit. I’m a nervous patient for procedures and have had both a crown replacement and multiple fillings here with Dr. Busso and Dr. Bem, both were attentive to how I was handling everything and were super patient. They have innovative tech including ai assisted scans to detect tiny cavities which I thought was cool. All in all this is my favorite find since moving here 3 years ago!

Fantastic experience: Who practices his skills on the weekend? His name is Dr. Avril. I was nervous because of previous bad experience. The dentists and staff are phenomenal!! Do not hesitate to call these fine folks for your needs routinely or in an emergency. They do some amazing stuff with teeth.

Fantastic experience: After a bad experience with a nearby dentist, my daughter has been terrified of the dentist. But her appointment here went as smooth as butter and was no problem. The dentist was gentle and kind with Kylie, and was less than half as much in cost!

Positive experience: Man this is going to be a long one. This dentist office has been extremely disappointing and I urge anyone looking to go here, to read this review. This office has been recommended by family and friends and I even have family that work here. I came into this establishment needing a cleaning and ended up paying thousands of dollars. It had been about 2 years or so since my last cleaning so I def was in need of one, but keep in mind I have very good teeth. So there I went to this place and stated that I needed my teeth cleaned. Boy was that a mistake. They sat me down after doing my X-rays and told me I needed peridontal scaling and cleaning. This was a recommended establishment so I decided to trust and believe whatever it was the dental hygienist said. Which by the way was an extremely sweet lady and is very nice. However I was then prompted by a couple hundred dollar bill which took me by surprise. A lot of this was “covered” by insurance so I figured it was for the deep cleaning, but then realized there were more charges to come. The dentist that took off my Invisalign brackets did ab amazing job tho and I truly don’t believe the staff here are bad people. My girlfriend came here later that day and received the same exact cleaning. However was not charged this “peridontal scaling”. Overall I’m left with thousands of dollars paid to this place for a very simple cleaning. When I called and asked about it I was told “you signed it” which is very disheartening to hear, as I trusted this place and thought my best health and financial being was in their interest. Insurance of course denied all claims since they saw my X-rays and thought there was no way I needed this level of work. And even left a note on the bottom of my claim saying “we had dental experts review this and do not believe the code was right from the dentist”. I’m at a loss for words that I was told I needed something, that I definitely did NOT need, and trusted these people with my money and care. Then when “needed” work was clearly extraneous, was told “you signed it”. Take that information what you will. I would advise all future patients to ensure you’re getting the needed services and not what they say you need. They even said my bacteria lab was at no cost, then decided to charge me for it before I even looked at the paper. If you’re here to get only a cleaning I would say that the staff are caring with your teeth and I did not think they did a bad job at what they do, only stuck me with a bill for something that wasn’t required. Update: The team did talk with me and resolved all my concerns. As stated before, did not ever think the staff here was motivated to be disdainful or rude. Very glad that this was resolved.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here!! They were able to make me an appointment super quick and everyone was very kind. The dentist took the time to explain things to me and answer all my questions. They made me feel comfortable on my very first visit, definitely recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Like almost every person I know with the exception of a few I really do not like Dental visits. But I had extremely bad tooth pain that was radiating throughout the right side of my head. I had no choice to do something about it and these guys were the only place open on Sunday. And after all said and done turns out both of my wisdom teeth on the top were really bad, they were able to remove both of them before I left. And hands down best tooth pulling experience of my life. Very professional, fast and efficient. I will be coming back here for the rest of my dental needs no question thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: My dentist and the entire staff was so amazing to me. It was a completely judgement free zone. I have disregarded my health for a long time because of my daughter having special needs. I came in for an emergency appointment due to a really bad infection in an old root canal and wisdom tooth that has caused me severe jaw pain and swelling. They took care of me so quickly and were so sweet the entire time. They kept comforting me through the experience. I can't wait to keep coming here. To finally have found a dental office who is understanding of everyone's unique situations and is there solely to help and not judge. I love them!

Fantastic experience: Best dentist I have ever been too! What other dentist do you know that is open 7 days a week?! Not many because anytime I tell someone I have an 8am dentist appt on a Sunday, their response is, "Your dentist is open on Sunday?!" Their team is responsive, timely, and kind. Fantastic experience: This was the only place that I could find near my house that was open on a Sunday for a last minute tooth extraction ! It was my first time coming to this clinic and it was very pleasant. I am typically weary of dentists and have always had a problem with numbing during major procedures. However, today was great and I would definitely return for future services. Everyone was very friendly and down to earth. Fantastic experience: Dr. Mark took excellent care of our son's bridge today. Not only is he direct and too the point, he is skillful with his craft both at modifying lab designed pontix and installing them. Very satisfied with our son's new perfect smile.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 10am. I was seen at 10:50am. It was a very long experience, no apologies given or care that we waited so long. Left the dentist at 12:30pm. No urgency or respect for people’s time.

Fantastic experience: Extremely thankful for your help. My son, who is not a patient, had a brace emergency this morning Wire from his braces broke free and was stuck in my son’s left cheek. The manager and dental team were quick to offer help and dislodged the wire from my son’s cheek. Unselfish concern and professional courtesy at its best. Thank you for your help today!!

Fantastic experience: Great dentist and my hygienist Dawn is fantastic. After going for years to the same dentist in Ruskin, I did not realize just how bad my teeth and gums were. Dawn got me on the right path and my mouth feels great again. After Dawn’s help and 4 permanent crowns completed in just 3 visits and less than 7 total hours, Dr. Avril is the kindest and best dentist I have ever met in my entire life. Fantastic experience: I had an emergency Friday evening. My crown fell off of my front tooth and they were able to see me on Saturday. This is great. They’re open on the weekends. Dentist was very thorough and explained everything to me great bedside manners and very professional. The girls in the front were amazing one great customer service very friendly made you feel like Home.

Fantastic experience: First….they’re open on Saturdays…KUDOS!!!! Staff were friendly, patient, gentle, and kind. Dentist had excellent bedside manner and explained everything thoroughly and patiently. There was no pressure to choose a specific plan; she discussed all options and potential pitfalls. I haven’t pursued any treatment as of yet. But if and when I do, I would definitely go back to this office.
