I was referred from my Mt Pleasant dentist and at first was thinking there must be someone closer that can do the same thing, but after having work done I would have traveled 3 times the distance just to see the staff and my doctor here. By the time all my work was done, it felt like it was family that was doing the work for me. You can tell they actually care about you and your health. After a procedure my doctor called me to around 8:00 to check upon how I was doing. I know he has family and for him to stop and call me to make sure I was doing good was totally refreshing and something i was not used to from any service provider. Fantastic experience: This is a very gracious and efficiently run office. I have been here 2 other times prior to my surgery and I have been on time each time. The staff is friendly as well as the providers. They are knowledgeable and informative. My surgery done with Dr. Russell providing anesthesia-no pain or memory-yeah! And Dr Poston very efficient and he called to check on me that evening. I wouldn’t hesitate anyone seeing this team, they are dynamite!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The billing is explained by a dedicated person. I have a strange allergy and they are very careful about this. This should be a given but not my experience in some other places. Dr Poston is stellar. Trustworthy, articulate, knowledgeable, proactive but not pushy. He is an excellent listener. I trust him implicitly.

Fantastic experience: Cracking a tooth and needing to have it extracted is never at the top of my to-do list but life happens. My dentist Lisa Gerrino was able to quickly fit me in to take a look and sent me on to get a better scan with Mark Hauser. They confirmed the tooth was cracked and recommend/referred me to Jeff Laro and his team. They were able to quickly get me scheduled and I must say the whole experience was about as good as it gets. From Neha Desai who walked me through the business/cost side of the procedure to Dr Laro and his assistants the whole experience was professional and they made me as comfortable as one can be as they extracted my bad tooth. Thanks to the whole team and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

Negative experience: The visit was great. I didn't realize that you were not in network with my insurance. I was referred to you by Cooper dentistry who is in network for me. I am stuck with a bill for 269 00 for an assessment for a procedure that I can never afford. I feel i was mislead and taken advantage of. Once your staff realized I couldn't afford your services i felt lost.

Negative experience: The dental staff were pleasant and professional, but my experience with the business side of the office was frustrating. My initial visit was in November, and I received no follow-up from Neha until I reached out myself in May. When I finally did, I was simply told to contact my insurance provider with any questions. It felt like their primary concern was getting paid up front, with little support or communication afterward.

Fantastic experience: Just had my first meeting for diagnosis and to schedule treatment. Very thorough and professional on both counts. Costs for each scheduled treatment were explained in detail. Based on limited experience so far, I can understand why this practice has so many five star reviews.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient at Charleston Periodontist for over 35 years. Appointments have always been on time. The hygienist over the years have been great especially Christy. Each visit is like a drop in visit of old friends. Dr Laro has taken over the practice from Dr Sasser and is living up to the high standards of the patient comes first.

The staff is welcoming when you walk in, and all of the dental hygienists are super nice and personalable. Lastly, Dr Poston is a superb Periodontist and truly cares about the health of my mouth. I’ve had no problems since I had my gum surgery with him, and I believe he’s saved my future of my teeth as well. This office gets 5 stars across the board!

Fantastic experience: I had an, infected tooth that needed to be extracted. It was recommended by my dentist to use the Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry. The center contacted me the same day for an appointment two days later. . After filling out paperwork online for my appointment, I was taken in on time without any further paperwork required. I met with Dr. Posten and staff during the initial exam and they reviewed my health record and verified my problem. Dr Posten then explained my options and after the discussion we made a decision on the exact procedure that was going to be accomplished. He verified exactly what was going to be done, and if I had any additional questions. A staff member then came in with the exact costs and some last paperwork to be signed. During the procedure I was told what was happening when needed and comfortable with everything that was done. Afterwards, I received a thorough explanation for post operative care and initial medication. I recommend them highly as they were professional in their abilities, while being compassionate with their approach in taking care of me.

Fantastic experience: It seems weird to give a Periodontist a high rating because so much of the experience actually involves pain, but these guys are very professional. When you need em, you need em. I do wish the cleaning experience could involve a few less sharp instruments...

Fantastic experience: Doctor Laro is the finest oral surgeon I have ever had work on me (and I have had a LOT of work done on my mouth). All of the work he has done on me has stood the test of time (one implant has been in for 10 years now) and procedures done by him are always without complication and with minimal discomfort. And all of that competence comes with a cheerful and amiable demeanor, I actually enjoy talking to him. I HIGHLY recommend him. Rarely will you find such a perfect combination of competence and personability. And as an added bonus, the staff is incredibly friendly as well.

Fantastic experience: Very professional group! Dr Wade took plenty of time to discuss my issue, answered questions and performed a small procedure flawlessly. Nadia walked me through the process from the beginning and shared the details of what to anticipate during my visit.

Negative experience: I was referred here by my dentist for a consultation. Went to the appointment and the receptionist had me fill out a form with my insurance info. They didn't tell me that they were out of network until after my appointment when they wanted to charge me close to $150 for the visit and almost to $3000 for the procedure they recommended. I was told they were a "specialty office" and that I had to pay the full amount up front, and then afterwards they will contact my insurance and whatever I overpaid I should get back within 6 weeks. I should have been told this when I first got to the office when they asked for my insurance info. Very misleading and deceptive in my opinion, seems like a money grab to me. I called my insurance company and found a periodontist within network that's closer to my house so I'm going to go there instead. And also their rates are a lot cheaper, my insurance company couldn't believe how high the quote was that this place gave me. Other than that, Dr. Poston and his assistant was friendly and knowledgeable, but that was the only good thing about this place. Since this office is not in network with any insurance, if you get referred here I would advise that you ask them about this first thing so you don't end up paying the full amount for the visit. Update: It seems that Sparacino Periodontics is the only periodontist in network in the area. If you don't want to overpay, I would suggest going to them instead.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience! Being new to the area and having a great fear of dentistry, I was so happy to have been referred to Dr. Poston who provided expert dental care and explained the procedure in detail both before and during the work. The entire staff showed genuine concern for my comfort and his assistant helped allay my fears throughout.
