They are always friendly, kind and nice . I 've been a client of Dr. Smith for several years now. I found out that he had relocated ito Douglasville, GA . So I made an adjustment to my travel and now it takes me about 1 hr to get to his office. It's really hard to find a good and excellent dentist who cares about your pretty smile. I haven't met a dentist like Dr. Smith who always take his time in letting you know step by step what's being done in your mouth, he's very detail. I always shared with my family and friends when they need dental work where to visited. Keep up the good work you all! God blessed

Positive experience: The service I receive is always great. However, I did not like having to pay before I received my treatment. Apparently that’s the new policy but I’d rather pay after my treatment.

Negative experience: Where do I start. Let’s go with the positive first. The African American male hygienist is cool and does his job as he should. Now the negative. They up sale everything. Hey you need a toothbrush 99 dollars, hey you need a chloride cleaning with a wash blah blah blah. Then the receptionist the bigger African American woman with the dread or braids is a liar. I ask her to get the dentist to call in a mouthwash prescription to the pharmacy which they tried to up charge me 21 dollars for. Instead of ok she asked me why wouldn’t I just get it here. Then I went to go get my prescription and it was never called in. I called back to tell her and she lied and said I didn’t talk to her and she would get the dentist to call it in before they closed. Again nothing so two trips to Walgreens for fun. She has an attitude for no reason and just doesn’t seem like she enjoys her job. I was rescheduled twice which no problem I get it but to lie and say you called when you didn’t is crazy. But overall I just learned to say no and decline all the add ons and get what I need done.

Not only are they extremely knowledgeable of their craft, but, they are also extremely kind, friendly and caring. They make you feel comfortable about what they are doing, as well as the reason for doing so. Fantastic experience: It has always been a good visit when I visit Douglasville because the person at the front desk, and I need to remember her name, she is very receptive as a front desk receptionist. She is always welcoming and that is exactly what you need when you coming to the dentist whether you’re getting ready to experience pain or not. Also, it’s a great visit whenever I have to visit Dr Moore and her team, they’re the best!!!!

Fantastic experience: My son saw Kevin, the hygienist today. Kevin explained everything fully for both my son and me to understand. He performed the cleaning, etc in a timely manner. We were satisfied with the services and will be back again.

Fantastic experience: I had two teeth extracted and one of them felt eerily uncomfortable, like some food had gotten into the area. So I called them two mornings after to have my extraction site reviewed and they squeezed me in to take a look, cleaned the area it felt better amd I was on my way. Negative experience: Every thing at this location feels like a money grab. Calling to make an appointment even feels like a sales call. There were so many red flags over the year that I’ve been going to them. For anyone looking for a good dentist, I highly suggest finding a small mom and pops dentist.

Negative experience: This place is horrible. Unorganized. Lady called me and told me I needed a crown before a bridge (crown was cracked a little). I wanted the bridge to lessen the chewing on the crown in the back. She said she would call me back after she spoke with the dentist. She never did. I get to the appointment she has canceled my appointment. This place!!!

Negative experience: They call you back then you still waiting 20min for someone to come in . You are seen by 4 different ppl . A person who cleans your teeth, the person who goes over your Bill, the person who takes your x-ray then here comes the doctor!!!!!!! Back in the day, it used to be one person when we talking about paperwork that should be taken care in the front not in the back..,I was super annoyed. I got there at 3pm didn’t leave till 5!! All for X-ray and to tell me to come back for a cleaning!!!!

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency situation where I needed a wisdom tooth pulled and called great Expressions to see if they excepted walk in’s and the receptionist asked how soon can I come . They were very friendly and helpful overall they had a great staff and had me on my way in no time .

Positive experience: I have been going for a couple of years. The customer service has been a hit or miss. I had an appointment today that was my last straw…the hygienist I had today lacked customer service and a welcoming environment. I believe he was striving for professionalism but it was very cold. My visit before this one, I had to wait an extremely long time and after waiting they asked me to reschedule. I made my mind up that I will look for a new dentist office.

Positive experience: I was very pleased with the care team and the dentist, Dr. Smith. They explained in depth of what to expect doing your visit with them, such as cleaning, taken of x- rays, and the outcome of work type of work that needs to be done and why you need such work. At the end of consultation you will get the cost of your dental work, in what your insurance will pay and your part that you have to pay. I felt that everyone was very professional.

Negative experience: They rarely answer their phone, called not rerurned and need more chairs in the lobby

Negative experience: Although the staff is nice, no complaints there, but the time management is horrible. This is my fourth visit and it has been the same thing with time management. My appointment was at 10 am, I was called to the back at 1020a, then waited in the back for another 55 minutes before I was seen. Then my cleaning was rushed…unacceptable!!!

Negative experience: They charge for toothpaste?? Like I guess I could've asked to remove it off my invoice...but instead of putting it on your bill in the first place, why not ask the patient first if they want to buy it?? A RX suggested toothpaste & Flouride for a regular cleaning...just ASK first and not place on a bill. That is a total turn off regardless of the gentle & nice hygienist Mr. Kevin. $56 bucks later for a 7 minute basic cleaning is WILD!

Negative experience: I had a great visit at Great Expressions but there follow through was terrible. Had work done in August and was suppose to send their update back to my original dentist and as of Sept still not done. I had to call them to get it done. I am not happy at this point. I gave a glowing review for the work done but now I wonder. Follow through is also part of your service

Fantastic experience: I had a problem with the coordinator the financial coordinator. She wasn’t professional in my opinion she didn’t explain the break down of what my cost will be . She just had a very bad and nasty , rude attitude. She showed no customer service whatsoever.

Fantastic experience: I took my three girls there for cleaning and x-rays. The girls weren’t too thrilled about the outside appearance of the building. They said it looked scary. I tell them “never judge a book by its cover!” This was our first time there. We haven’t been to the dentist in over 2 years. Overall great customer service, clean establishment, and very knowledgeable and personable clinicians. The team works great together snd very efficient. My girls said they actually had fun .. at the dentist! Who would’ve thought!

Fantastic experience: I am currently undergoing multiple periodontal surgical procedures and Dr. Moore has been amazing so far. I am so thankful that I found her. Her and her team are caring and compassionate and she explains everything that she is going to do, breaks it down, and in turn listens to my concerns, and does it all without judgment or condemnation. So far my experience at Great Expressions has been wonderful, from the front desk, to finance, to the care team. I also love the transparency surrounding the care plan and the cost of each treatment.

Positive experience: I’ve been a dental patient at GE Douglasville for several years and the experience of each visit have always been a great experience, however my recent appointment was scheduled for 9am to get a cleaning, I’m not sure why I waited 1 1/2 hours to be called to the back to start the process of the cleaning. I understand that things happen and that delays occur, my biggest disappointment was that the delay was not addressed and nor did the hygienist apologize for the delay, she act as if my time was not important. I was 2 and half hours late for work and the appointment was to get a cleaning. I am really disappointed with the hygienist and are considering not ever return to this location or even looking for a new dentistry company.

Negative experience: Our experience was horrible! The staff unprofessional. My daughter had to return because of an unfinished procedure. My daughter arrived and they did not know why she was there. When the procedure began the doctor did not know what to do and asked for the assistance to get the medical book. She opened it and reviewed while my daughter was in the chair. Talk about patient anxiety! The doctor left and while she was waiting she looked down and saw a huge roach crawling on the floor! It was unreal! We have pictures to prove! My daughter jumped up and waited outside. The doctor saw her and asked what happened and the doctor said come get me when you kill the roach. What?! The assistant came in with a broom because the ran out of roach spray. This sounds like a prank! It.was.not! They were not apologetic nor were they professional. Never again will I return!

Negative experience: I don’t normally write reviews but i decided to make an exception to this specific Great Expressions. The establishment is completely incompetent when it comes to communicating. I’ve been here for some time and the orthodontist staff have never been on the same page with issues. Once I’m finished with my dental work I will never step foot in this place again and I warn those who do consider this dental office. Absolutely atrocious!

Positive experience: For the most part, I really like my dentist and the care that I've received. However, my overall experience has been frustrating. I was referred to an Oral Surgeon in February for an April appointment. When I arrive for my appointment, the oral surgeon was two hours behind schedule. I elected to reschedule my appointment because I had to get back to work. The next appointment was not until June 2, two months later. I requested to be put on the schedule in the event that they had any cancellations. That call never came. I I do understand that the oral surgeon is busy. That said, even after I had my established appointment, I was called on a couple of different occasions requesting that I change that appointment date or time. I was also told that I cannot be guaranteed that my newly scheduled appointment with the oral surgeon won't be running behind again.

Positive experience: Dr is wonderful, whoever is answering the phone today helped me decide to change offices combined with the hygienist. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable in a hygenists care.

Negative experience: My experience here was very traumatizing. I now see why people left those reviews and I should have listened. For about a month in a half I have been in contact with this dentist office making sure that my insurance was in network and advising them of my dental plans and goals. They confirmed that they took my insurance several times and confirmed that my insurance was IN Network. The day of my appointment everything seemed normal they told me I need a periodontal treatment and I was ready to pay and get the service that day, which they confirmed they could do. The dentist came in and we spoke about my plans to get veneers once my overall oral health was better. He said that insurance doesn’t cover it. I told him they do with my plan I have verified with your office prior and my insurance who said they will cover 80% and I cover 20% this is considered major services under my plan. He said ok he will talk to the dental coordinator. After the dentist left from the room a lady walk in to numb my mouth to get ready for the periodontal treatment and takes my bank card to take payment. After 5mins she comes in abruptly and tells me she didn’t run my card and the coordinator wants to speak with me. Honestly, the way it happened it was embarrassing- the coordinator lies and said that they are out of network with my insurance I said that can’t be because you all confirmed you were in network along with my insurance. She spoke with my insurance carrier while I was there because I had Aetna call the office to confirm and the coordinator told the Aetna Rep she doesn’t know why the doctor isn’t taking the insurance. She got a manager and the manager said the doctor isn’t in network (I was still on the phone with Aetna) my insurance carrier was able to confirm that the dentist was in network and signed his credential in 2019 with no updates of opting out on file-she also said if that office decide to opt out they are suppose to give their patients 60days- which I never received. To make a long story short the doctor was in network he just didn’t want to honor the contract he signed and agreed upon with Aetna. To me this is unethical and highly inconsiderate of my time and health. I would not recommend going to this location (Douglasville)

Fantastic experience: Upon my arrival to my dentist appointment I was pleasantly received. The hygienist met with me less than 10 minutes of my appointment. My questions and concerns were addressed by the hygienist and Dr. Smith. I had an excellent experience and oral care. I left feeling awesome after their professional service and pleasantries that was rendered from all the staff. I highly recommend “Great Expressions.”

Fantastic experience: First impressions are important. Today was my first visit to a great Expressions as a new patient. I found the person at the reception desk to be helpful, understanding, and quite friendly with a great sense of humor. The dental tech who did my assessment (thank you, Kevin) was very thorough and up-front with all he believed I would need —even after I balked as proposed procedures. His explanation was firm and non-judgmental. I have quite a bit of experience as a dental patient. I appreciate it when dental techs and dentists do not “rummage” roughly over my teeth. I found the staff at Great Expressions to be mindful in their care. Time will tell as far as future visits go, but I am sold on the professionalism of their staff and their capacity for excellent care.

Negative experience: Garbage. The wait was over and hour and I still wasn’t seen. I walked out and called my insurance company and let them know if a claim is filed for this trash can it needs to be denied because I did not receive service. Please keep in mind you can also do this.

Negative experience: My initial visit for what should have been a routine exam and cleaning, evolved into a prolonged promotion for extensive and costly dental procedures. Though the recommended treatments and procedures may be warranted, their approach was grossly impersonal and requires refinement. Per my experience, they needed to allow this patient to become more comfortable with the practice and their level of competency, before delving into more expensive selective procedures.

From the warm greetings we received from the Receptionist through the Lab Tech and Dental Hygienist on to our collective interaction with Dr. Smith, and finally our close out meeting with the Scheduler were all beyond reproach. The knowledge sharing, the professional and personal demeanor of all with whom we interacted was more than appreciated. Most appreciated was the honest and straightforward evaluation. Hence, Great Expressions Dental Practice has earned a well deserved FIVE STAR EXEMPLARY RATING!

Negative experience: Do not go here. Both of my visits were horrendous for several reasons but may have been due to rushing. The spaces were not calming nor the cleanest. There were crumbs on tables, dust everywhere, exposed outlets, the tvs weren't even on, people kept rushing in and out rummaging thru things, and I even heard the dental assistants complaining about not having enough equipment (certainly made me wonder how clean/sterile the items in low stock were between services). Even their scheduling platform is a mess. Watched the lady add my appt for 9am but got a text for 9:30am and then another for a different day and time. A mess. Both visits were horrible but again, the dentist provided POOR service both visits. I've never experienced anything like it. Unfortunately, I have to return because he messed up my bridge placement AND I believe he shaved a portion of my real adjacent tooth instead of the bridge, as well. There's a different smell when shaving the product versus your enamel. He performed the poor placement and tried to send me on my way without even giving me a mirror. I had to ask for the bathroom just so I could see/inspect his work which was an ABSOLUTE MESS. Bulging, doesn't cover teeth, gaps where food has EASILY gotten under, and no natural feel at all. I can't even chew. He explained that the lab messed up the bridge and would need to redo it. That means that he'll have to "cut off" the one he just placed when I return. I'm horrified. Don't go. Just don't go.

Negative experience: I first made an appointment for a cleaning via their online portal. They called me a week later to tell me that they needed to reschedule that appointment bc the hygienist was no longer available, which is fine, and then told me what other times they had available and I chose a time that worked for me. Then a few weeks later, 2 days before my appointment, they called to inform me that my insurance company needed to assign me to their facility, otherwise they wouldn't be able to treat me, and i needed to call them to get assigned before my appointment. I know insurance companies have some weird rules, so that didn't bother me, but it was kind of annoying that they didn't bother to tell me that when they called to reschedule my appointment. Anyway, called my insurance company and they got me assigned with no issue. Day of appointment, I check in just to be told that I hadn't been assigned. Not sure whose end had the issue with that, but they proceeded to check me in. My appointment started at 8:30, I get taken back and have x-rays done, and get seen by the dentist, all of which took an hour. So one hour into my scheduled cleaning, I still haven't seen the hygienist. She finally sees me at 9:30 and then proceeds to tell me that she can't do my cleaning because her schedule is too full, and that they can't guarantee services. Why in God's green earth would y'all schedule someone for a specific time, then proceed to tell them that can't get the service that they are scheduled for because "they don't have time?" I have never in my life experienced something this incredibly stupid. I had to take a day off of work for this, only to have my time wasted.

Negative experience: This place is a money grab. They would not do a standard cleaning and wanted to charge me $300 to clean my teeth. They also wanted $29 for an oral cancer screening. I was also required to go back for 2 additional visits, each at about $100. And then if they found something on the additional visits, I would have to come back for more treatment, and I'm almost positive, "something" would be found. They also wanted $700 for my son's exam and cleaning. We both left without getting a cleaning. The kicker for me was NO ONE WASHED THEIR HANDS!! They use hand sanitizer and gloves. Sorry, that's unsafe and unsanitary. I would not go back or recommend this place to anyone. This place is like the McDonald's of dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I love Great Expressions. The staff is nice and Dr. Smith does an amazing job. Dr.woods did a phenomenal job on my root canal, I had no pain at all. It was like I never had one. The best at his Job. Highly Recommended

Negative experience: This dental office is terrible. I hope I can give them ZERO star. I changed my job and my dental insurance changed so I had to find an in-network dentist. Locally, this is the only one available. On the first visit, they took complete pictures. The technician didn’t have the required skills: had to do everything twice and also badly hurt my mouth and even throat. After that, show me the financial paper and will charge me $325.97 for tooth paste, waterflosser etc (totally 11 items). I told them I don’t need these stuff, they only agreed to drop off a couple of them, but I still need to pay them $201.98 for my first free cleaning covered my insurance. Note that, these cost doesn’t include the pictures/films which they already charged my insurance. They also told me that this first time cleaning is $201.98 out of my pocket and all the future cleaning I have to pay $62 out of pocket even thought my insurance covers two free cleanings every year and they are in-network with my insurance company. Yes, that’s what they told me. For the past 30 years, I never got charged for cleaning covered by insurance. Avoid this company!!!

Fantastic experience: I love the professional & courteous atmosphere at this location. The dentists, their assistants, & staff are always professionally cordial and provide great service in resolving my dental concerns. They do their best to accommodate their patients in scheduling visits, as well as attending to emergency situations. You can't go wrong choosing this office for your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: AMAZING!!! , from the front desk through out the complete office I've heard how KIND, FRIENDLY, and PROFESSIONAL everyone treats you. I've had some unpleasant experiences, fear and trauma since a child. It takes a lot to prepare myself to come to the dentist, yet at 76 yrs old I still go through issues. DR GRANT'S EXCELLENT CARE ,KINDNESS, and MANNERISMS IS AWESOME!!! And ALL THE STAFF!!! I am so VERY THANKFUL and GRATEFUL TO DR GRANT and the whole STAFF , MANY BLESSINGS TO ALL!!!

Fantastic experience: Great Expressions is just awesome! I had this same dentist when I lived in Michigan for many years, but moved to Georgia two years ago and I was thrilled that they had a location less than 20 minutes away from my new Georgia home relocation!! They are very friendly and there’s a nice peaceful and pleasant atmosphere in there too. And the soft soothing music they play definitely helps because honestly, no one really wants to go to the dentist! . The hygienist and doctor I saw today were amazing so I am highly recommending them to anyone considering a new or changing dentist(s).
