Fantastic experience: I had a chipped tooth and they got me in quickly and fixed it fast and very well. I have always had great experiences here. I am retired and on Medicare now and I still choose to go here even though they are out of network for me so I have to pay a little more.

Fantastic experience: My first visit at SDA was exceptional! Taylor was my hygienist ~ she was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable! I learned more from her in 60 minutes than I have my entire life going to the dentist! Dr. Mehta was so kind and gentle ~ he reviewed my imaging with me, and provided his recommendations, giving me a few ways to approach the issues I am having. I am SO happy my family made switch to SDA!

Positive experience: I Carol Peterson Had an appointment for getting my teeth cleaned. The hygenist said I was late maybe five minutes. I was sitting in the waiting room waiting room waiting to be called. So because I was late She got rid of plaque and never cleaned my teeth. So I payed for a teeth cleaning that I received half of. Not satisfied with my appointment.

Fantastic experience: My dental hygienist, Jessica, is outstanding both her skill and providing education on my teeth and well-being. She is friendly and respectful as well as kind and considerate. She has been cleaning and educating me about my teeth for over 18 years. Dr. Mehta is an extremely skilled dentist, friendly and kind. Besides helping my chip tooth, regular exams, he has also performed two implants in my mouth. I am very pleased with the care I have received over the past 15 years at Southdale Dental Associates. There have been other technicians and dental assistance over the years and they have all been kind and helpful.

Fantastic experience: My 18 year old daughter had her first filling. She was nervous but Dr. Gearhart and Cheryl, the dental assistant, were tremendous with her. They allowed me to stay with my daughter and they talked everything through with my daughter. Both Dr. Gearhart and Cheryl are kind and compassionate. They made it a great experience. I can't say enough wonderful things about Southdale Dental. All the staff are super friendly, welcoming and very helpful. You can't go wrong with any of the dentists but I see Dr. Gearhart and I think he is just the very best. Also, I always see Deb for my teeth cleanings and she is incredible. Grateful for Southdale Dental and the wonderful care my family and I consistently receive there.

Still great reception and scheduling staff, knowledgeable hygienists, highly qualified dentists. Today was the same- very welcoming, very friendly competent staff!

A good review of what needed to be done, explanations and a step by step process. Both hygienist and dentist have such a gentle touch. Negative experience: Without notice, Southdale Dental went out of network with my insurance and I am now receiving bills for a regular exam. It's generally considered good practice for a dentist to inform a patient if they are out of network with their insurance. In addition they charge sales tax, which is not covered by insurance and I have come to find that generally dentist do not pass this on to the patient. Good dentist and staff but they lack in billing transparency and communication.

Fantastic experience: My experiences at Southdale Dental Associates have always been excellent. Ann is a great hygienist.

Fantastic experience: I always appreciate my visits here. Efficient, professional service. They have caught some issues for me that needed immediate attention and were able to quickly refer me to a periodontist. That said, they don't pressure you into unnecessary services (which I have experienced at another dentist). All in all, would recommend!

My hygienist Deb is simply the best I have ever had and I will change my schedule to make sure she is available. The good news is that his "replacement" (Dr Pendleton) comes highly recommended! I am looking forward to meeting him. Fantastic experience: Dr. Kyle Gearhart and his staff are wonderful. Me and my daughters have been coming here for a long time and we love the dental care we receive. The office in Edina is on the 6th floor of the Southdale medical building and has windows that overlook beautiful views of Centennial Lakes and surrounding area. Today at my appointment I was able to see the Hyland ski lift in Bloomington! The receptionist is lovely and Abby, my hygienist, is the best.

Positive experience: The cleaning experience and visit with the dentist was great as it always is. I was very disappointed that a communication with the office I made two weeks ago regarding a filling that fell out was not given to the dentist. I was told he would contact me and I did not hear back from him or an assistant before my cleaning appt. He was unaware that I communicated this concern I had. I was hoping he could resolve the issue at this appt as he has done in the past vs schedule another appt to which I did. Again, disappointing.

Linda explained what steps I was going to go through and was very helpful covering all the steps and medication instructions following the extraction. Dr. Mehta was gentle in the process and I appreciated his reviewing an X-ray with me following the extraction. His follow up call the following day to check in with me was very thoughtful.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Southdale Dental for about 22 years. I've had the same hygienist for the entire time. I've had only two dentists during that time...the previous one retired. I've always been impressed with the professionalism of the entire team at the practice. They have never let me down, even in emergency situations. My father, mother and uncle have also gone to this practice and have been equally pleased.

She does an excellent job cleaning and checking my teeth but then goes beyond and talks about the best ways to take care of your teeth and gums. She teaches me so much about care for the gums and teeth and I really appreciate her and her spreading awareness on taking good care of my teeth.

Fantastic experience: Had my teeth cleaned and the final stage of my first dental implant put in place on 12/9/13. I have been going to Southdale Dental for 20 years, my first dentist retired, now I have Dr. Mehta. He is a wonderful dentist, easy to talk to, conscientious and professional about his work, does an excellent job with my sometimes-challenging teeth. Laura has been cleaning my teeth from the start. I have a lot of tooth sensitivity that she manages to deal with in careful way. I love my dental team and what a beautiful office! The whole staff is helpful and accommodating. Keep up the good work, I'll be back.

Fantastic experience: I was experiencing pain in a tooth. The scheduler got me in almost immediately. Dr. Bainer did a fantastic job helping me. She asked questions, took X-rays, and thought through all of the possible issues I was having before coming up with a treatment. She explained the plan in detail so I knew what steps would be taken and what might happen in the future.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in this dental office dropping FIFTEEN of the most popular insurance plans. Most people will need to pay out-of-network costs going forward. Further, a single letter was sent listing all the plans they were dropping but nothing about what insurance they would take for in-network. I'm disappointed in Southdale Dental's choice and more so their poor communication around this.

Fantastic experience: Dr Gerhardt is amazing. After my 40 year dentist Dr. Rene retired I was doubtful I would ever feel comfortable with anyone else. But Dr. Gerhardt took his place and he makes me feel amazingly comfortable And then there is always sweet and talented Anne!

Caring staff and highly professional providers make all the difference. Auto reminders of appointments is helpful. Yes, I'd very much recommend Southdale Dental.

Fantastic experience: Southdale Dental offers a membership program, making care more accessible for people who don't have coverage through their insurance (or, for me, it's a cheaper option than dental insurance). They're friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, and you can make appointments online/via text which is super convenient! I find I have less anxiety around the dentist going to them - highly recommend.
