Positive experience: Lottie does an excellent job cleaning my teeth and providing education on how to keep my teeth between visits. All the staff is helpful and very pleasant. Dr Charlotte provides excellent care and advice. Generally the costs seem in line.

Fantastic experience: My hygienist, Cortney, is wonderful. She takes the time to explain her process and tips. And Dr. Charlotte is the best dentist I have ever had. Adore her and highly recommend Comfortable Care.

Negative experience: Run! Don't walk to another practice. I had almost $6,000 of dental work done there. Every bit of it has had to be redone. The bridge was the most expensive and the worst quality. They are a factory. Thank goodness they never returned my calls about a billing error. I got so frustrated I went elsewhere. They did me a huge favor not returning my calls.

Negative experience: I am sorry, but I am finding this practice to be money hungry and run as an enterprise rather than a caring dentist office. While I love Lottie as my hygienist, I will probably be cancelling my future appointments and searching for a more traditional dentist for myself and my adult daughter, who has also been pressured into procedures that she’s never heard of before but which you are quick to bring in the “financial team member” to have us sign away our money while our mouths are still being worked on in the chair!

Negative experience: Very disappointed! Questionable business practices. I had to come back to complete the cleaning because you had another appointment- charged another $95? I go to pay and tell the office worker to put the new charges (approx $1300) through my insurance ( Delta) that you accepted last time. The answer was you out of network, we stopped accepting Delta November of last year. So, you didn’t think it was important to share prior to providing services? Yet, you gather information at check in. Does anybody read it and say we don’t Delta anymore. Sorry, loved the care provided but that is NOT COOL!

Negative experience: Their billing department is all screwed up. But I don’t think there is anything malicious. I just think they don’t know what they are doing. Oh yea, both dentists there told me that I need to see an oral surgeon. I thought about it and a few weeks later I called them and said yes for a referral. They told me to look up one in Google. I did and called. The Oral surgeon said they need a referral from my dentist so I called back and informed them that I found an oral surgeon. They then called the me back a few minutes later to tell me the oral surgeon has no records of me as a patient. Of course not!!! I almost stroked out. There is a lot of “they don’t know what they are doing”. My wife and I are looking for some place else.

Fantastic experience: Lottie was the best, as usual. She was professional, efficient, and personable! And checking in and out was quick and friendly. I would highly recommend this office. I returned to Lottie again and she turned my teeth from grim to sparkling white!! I cannot overstate the difference she made in my smile!! Go to Comfortable Care Dental.

Negative experience: I had the worst crown put on over an implant It had to be done twice and it’s still not right. I’ve called to talk to the corporate office two or three times and nobody’s called me back. I can’t eat on my left side. I went to another dentist when I was in New York and they said it’s the worst crown they’ve ever seen. I feel like calling an attorney I would never go back to them. Maybe now they’ll respond. Don’t ever use them.

Fantastic experience: The staff and Dr. McCarty are very pleasant and helpful. Appointments are on time. I am very pleased. Update: My earlier review still holds. Very efficient group and friendly, competent staff. Would highly recommend the practice! I had to have a cap. Dr. Charlotte did the procedure. She was wonderful! Even the injection of the anesthetic was virtually painless. Her assistant was very capable too. If only they could make the noise of the drill go away. ;-) I’m very pleased with the overall practice and have and will continue to recommend them to others.

Negative experience: Was told 3 times I would get my tooth extracted and got there and they referred me somewhere else. I've been in excruciating pain for well over a week and they still charged me for the visit with no results.

Negative experience: As someone who has worked as a dental assistant for over 5 years and has hands-on experience collaborating with both hygienists and dentists, I went into Comfortable Care Dentist Office with a high level of knowledge and expectations. I was particularly referred to Dr. Haught, who was described as an excellent doctor. I was hopeful that my visit would go smoothly, especially since I hadn’t been to the dentist in three years and was just looking for a routine check-up and cleaning. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the hygienist/dental assistant, Lottie. She was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and thorough, providing detailed information about my oral health. I felt comfortable with her care, and she reassured me that my teeth were in good shape, which was a relief. Dr. Haught was also kind, sweet, and very informative. I was impressed with their approach, and although I was initially concerned about the cost of the visit (which was almost $800 out of pocket), I felt reassured by the professionalism and care provided. The new technology they used in the office was also impressive and showed me how dentistry has evolved over the years. As someone who has been away from the field for a long time, I appreciated how they kept me informed and made sure I understood the treatment plan. However, the issues arose when I was referred to Dr. Beazell for a molar extraction. I was given an initial estimate of about $110 for the extraction, which seemed reasonable. However, shortly after, the office staff came back to inform me that the estimate had increased by over $600, bringing the total to nearly $800, because they “forgot” to include the bone structure removal in the original quote. I questioned the necessity of this additional charge, as the doctor had initially told me the extraction would be simple and there was no need for bone structure removal, since the tooth was already loose. The response from the office staff was dismissive, and I was told that if I didn’t like the updated price, I could “go elsewhere.” This experience left me feeling very uncomfortable, as I believe they were attempting to take advantage of me. I understand that dental work can be expensive, but the way this situation was handled was unethical, and I felt like I was being unfairly charged for something that wasn’t necessary. I also felt that, as a new patient, they should have been more understanding and transparent, especially with someone who has experience in the field. Dr. Haught did call me the next day to check in and hear my side of the story, which I appreciated. However, despite my attempts to return her call, I have not heard back from the office. Ultimately, I left feeling disappointed and disillusioned. Although my initial experience with Dr. Haught and Lottie was positive, the mishandling of the extraction quote and the overall lack of professionalism in how it was handled has left me with no intention of returning to this office. I feel strongly that I cannot recommend Comfortable Care Dentist Office to anyone, especially considering the potential for patients to be misled, especially those who may not have the knowledge to question inflated charges. It’s truly unfortunate, as the care from Dr. Haught and Lottie was excellent, but the behavior of Dr. Beazell and the office staff has left a lasting negative impression.

Positive experience: **Edit** I received a very nice phone call from the office apologizing for their off day. I appreciate that! I have only been once, so not a fair assessment. I checked in 10 minutes early and sat in the waitingroom. I sat quietly for an hour before I went and asked if they had forgotten about me, which they had and even marked me canceled on their system. This started some behind the scenes arguments on who had marked me canceled. I was sitting right in front of receptionist so not sure how she didn't realize I hadn't been seen for an hour ( no exaggeration). Once alerted of the error, the other lady had zero urgency and half asleep, finished her cell phone then came to get me. I was then informed that since they were an hour late they couldn't get my teeth cleaned and I'd have to return.... in 3 weeks. They did get the exam and xrays done and Dr was very polite. Could have been an off day, I did make a follow up for the cleaning just not sure I'll return.

Negative experience: Very bad experience with Comfortable Care Dental in Venice FL, Dentist Kathleen Beazell is very slopy, during the teeth cleaning, she used some blue solution and the rotating tool she used was splashing it on my white elegant shirt and I was told about it at the end of the procedure. She was not apologetic, she told me to bring her the receipt for the shirt and she will pay it. After that I switched to the other dentist in the office, but she quit, my very good hygienist quit also. Every time they are new staff members in this office, very unprofessional and not knowledgeable how to obtain proper documentation from the insurance company what will be covered for the appointment. There are many better dental practices in the area, and I don't recommend Comfortable Care Dental in Venice FL.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Charlotte is great, heard she’s getting married. Congrats on that. Angela has done my cleanings. Gentle and quick. Also gave me a little travel bonus pack to help improve my dental hygiene. Comfortable Care the name speaks for itself. I’ll be back in another six months for my yearly eval before that it would’ve been approximately 12 years since I’ve seen a dentist. They also have a 99$ a year program that really is pretty dope if you ask me. The office staff definitely always busy but be patient. They’ll be right with you. One thing about it and two things for sure. Anyways, when Angela’s year review comes up…. make sure to give her that raise. She deserves it!!! See yall come August. Hopefully I’ll floss. She highly reccomended.

Fantastic experience: As an update to my review of 2 years ago; I have taken my disabled daughter to Comfortable Care for the past 13 years. The office staff has always been very helpful. The hygienists and dentists have made my daughter feel much more comfortable and much less apprehensive when having any procedure performed. I would especially like to mention Michelle in the front office who assisted me in sorting through my daughter's new dental insurance benefits. She took the time to call the company, get the pertinent information and advise me accordingly. All done in a kind and professional manner. I would recommend Comfortable Care to anyone seeking comprehensive dental care.

Negative experience: I went in for a normal cleaning and she was so aggressive during the entire appointment, I had to take painkillers afterwards. Even after half the day had passed and taking meds my mouth was still sore.

Negative experience: Beware! Dishonest or incompetent, either way, I don’t recommend this dental office. Also, I was there for 2+ hours just to get X-rays and have the dentist take a look- they said they had to do my appt that way to fit me in, even thought I said I wasn’t in a rush when booking. So, while the hygienist and dentist were pleasant, their office staff is not. I made it very clear about my concerns about billing and if my insurance would cover (noting not wanting to book if it can’t be clear) and I answered their general dental questions. I also had my previous dental records sent to them (they confirmed receiving them). Then, a little while after my pre-exam (I guess that’s a thing now before getting a cleaning), I get a bill for X-rays. Apparently the fancy full mouth X-rays are only covered once per 5yrs on my insurance, which I had done last year at my previous dentist office, but I was not aware of this rule. I called when I found out this was the case and asked why they took the extra X-rays knowing I was concerned about extra charges and that they had copies of the previous year’s X-rays. Just oversight? Lack of customer care? It took several tries to speak with the billing dept, finally got a call back and this woman was so rude, twisting my words, saying I wanted the X-rays because I mentioned I had a sensitive area I was concerned about - no, I was answering a question I was asked and at no point did I ask for extra X-rays. Then she said they didn't have my previous records- but yet before that call, before I went in they confirm they confirmed they received. Not once did this woman even pause to fully hear what I had to say, just kept saying “our records say”- how about your records are wrong and maybe one of your people messed up? Dealing with this level of shadiness had me canceling my cleaning appointment. I will find an honest dental practice. I should have checked Yelp too, funny how the reviews there are awful. I also then checked with the Next Door app, so many other similar horror stories. Lesson learned! Update- Funny that when you call after a response and then they say they have to call you back and don’t… Then later you find out they charged you for an exam when all they did was take X-rays and the dentist only talked to you for maybe 5 minutes and then your asked to make another appointment for the actual review and cleaning of your teeth. Ha! Still trying to get them to call me back to sort this out… sad there are businesses that ok with treating people this way.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to comfortable care dental for over 10 years. The staff is superb, Dr. Beazell Is excellent. I would highly recommend them.

Negative experience: I don’t plan to go back. I tried this facility on 2017 and disliked it. I decided to give them a second trial this week and was reminded of how poor the customer service is. The front office staff is incompetent and fails to acknowledge their errors.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Charlotte is absolutely phenomenal. Never in my life have I been to the dentist and experienced ZERO pain. But my experience with this dental practice was a dream!! Even though I needed several needles and 2 fillings, Dr Charlotte was gentle, patient and kind. I literally never knew that oral anesthesia did not have to hurt!! Even though her practice is 30 minutes away from me, I will be making the drive whenever I need dental care and will be referring her to my family and friends. ♥️

Fantastic experience: Everyone who works here is wonderful. I have seen both dentists and had major work and have been impressed with their caring attitudes. The ability to get an appointment is much easier than my old dentist. I would have to schedule a year in advance and if you needed to make a change, you were out of luck. I highly recommend them.

I would have had the work done years ago if I had known about Comfort Care. I felt like I was in charge. The doctor and her staff made the experience all about me. The cost was fair and everything was explained in detail. I would give them six stars if I could.

Negative experience: Went in for routine cleaning and was advised that my exam showed a slight improvement from the last appointment. However there were 3 spots that pockets needed antibiotics to the tune of nearly $700. That they wanted to address. I said no thank you, not at this time, just give me my routine cleaning. They told me that if I did not acquiesce they would not do the cleaning. Bottom line. Went in for routine cleaning. They tried to upswell me on a procedure I didn’t want. They refused to do my scheduled cleaning and made me pay for the exam. If you like being treated like you’re buying a used car this place is for you. Stay clear. Buyer beware. My new dentist advised they would not strongarm me for more money

Negative experience: Updated review: Since the departure of Dr. DiCarlo from the practice several years ago, there has been a notable and significant shift in both the quality of service provided and the overall atmosphere within the office. The incumbent dentist, who assumed Dr. DiCarlo's role, falls noticeably short in comparison. I personally experienced much discomfort and inadequacy in the manner in which dental care is administered, likening it to a boxing match to my mouth. Moreover, a palpable decline in the warmth and attentiveness of the office staff has been observed, leading me to feel depersonalized during my visits. Compounding matters, excessive wait times have become a consistent source of frustration for me as well as other patients at each scheduled appointment. I do not recommend. Our visits started about one and a half years ago when Dr. DiCarlo started treating my 94 year old Aunt. She absolutely loved him, he treated her like family. He knew she would have trouble with implants at her age; knew that full dentures were not an option for her and managed to save enough teeth to make a permanent bridge for her in front. She is happy to smile again! Before too long, we added the rest of our family (5) and have referred at least 10 friends that all agree. Office is professional, well run, clean, organized and most of all friendly. Kim is the best Hygienist I have ever had work on me. She saved my husband from having to have a surgically performed deep cleaning. Dr. DiCarlo is fair, patient and genuinely warm and caring!

Positive experience: Dr Beazell and her assistant were amazing, super attentive and made sure to explain everything thoroughly as they went. The front desk staff on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. In lieu of reliving the whole situation again- I will say two things. Their lack of follow through to assist me with post procedure concerns is disheartening. Blaming the doctor’s busy schedule is irrelevant as the doctor was happy to answer questions for other people three times during my procedure by kindly excusing herself. Second is the snide “pain is normal” comment made by the person I spoke to after calling three times. There was no regard for my concerns when had she actually listened, at no point had I mentioned pain as a complaint. Unfortunately, since they are the first and last point of contact in the office I would have hoped for a little more empathy and an evident desire to help. That however, was not my experience with Debbie being the exception. I’m fairly new to this practice and hope that my future experiences are better.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had horrible experiencing with dentists so it is a huge breath of fresh air to have found this place. Always a pleasure. Never any hidden fees or unexpected bills. I recommend them to anyone and everyone. The wait for the initial appointment is a little long, but it is well worth that wait.

Positive experience: I was taken back 30 mins late and not told they were running late, then very slow cleaning took an hour. They gave me a different hygienist after having the same one there for 9 years. Then also a new dentist saw me, again unexpected. A little communication to me, the customer, regarding all these circumstances would’ve eased the pain of this visit. I was there 90 mins. I left with my $900 treatment plan printed out. Fantastic experience: I was looking for a dentist that wouldn't hurt and I'm telling you comfort care is the best in Venice I had to have a tooth pulled and they did Novocaine and waited and came back a little while later and before I knew it she was in I could feel her in mouth all of a sudden she said it's out it must have took her 3 minutes no pain and so this is a very nice gentle dental place to go to. Yes Comfortable Care.
