Fantastic experience: From start to finish, the team at Island Tower Dentistry were amazing. I had just started vacation and my crown had fallen off. They scheduled me the afternoon I called them and were able to get my crown recemented with no problem. Dr. Whelen was the best. He told me what he was doing every step of the way. I have large mandibular tori in the lower portion of my mouth & needed x-rays throughout the process. They were the best at making sure I was comfortable during the x-ray (I usually have such trouble with them). I highly recommend this practice, as they generally do care about your comfort & make you feel very welcome in their care.

You will not find more honest and professional doctors and staff on Marco. I cannot recommend them enough! If you’re looking for a dentist on Marco that actually makes you feel as safe as you do in your own home, look no further! They check in on you constantly, can provide blankets if you’re cold, basically treat you like you’re a family member the whole time you’re in their care. Outstanding 10000/10

Fantastic experience: ...hard to be brief here, but here goes, I am a retired dentist of 37 years, initially a general dentist, followed by limiting my practice to implant dentistry and full mouth reconstruction; with advanced training in IV sedation and anesthesia. Found myself treating mostly lifelong phobic, extremely apprehensive and fearful patients. I am not likely as a former teacher/instructor to other dentists/students to be easily impressed with offices I visit. I found an exception. Island dentistry is noteworthy. Starting when you first call, are then greeted well upon entering the office, all communication is excellent, ie. 'informing before performing' and done with attention to detail while doing the diagnostic procedures in a caring and gentle manner. The two doctors are well trained, are excellent communicators, and the entire experience is done in a most comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. This is an exceptional office. Chuck Sukurs

Fantastic experience: Definitely a good quality, affordable option for dental services. They were so kind, patient and tentative to my dental emergency while visiting the island for family vacation. Immediately upon calling they quickly were able to fit me into the schedule and the service they provided and quality were great.

Negative experience: I saw one of the dentists here a few months ago. All I was basically told was I need this and that and here's a breakdown of the prices. I decided to go to a different dentist for a second opinion and that opinion came up with periodontal gum disease and I need all my teeth removed and to get implants. The dentist I saw at Island Tower said NOTHING about gum disease, said NOTHING about all my teeth going to eventually fall out. I overheard every dentist sell bone graphs left and right. I was told I needed my wisdom teeth out, I actually do not, the teeth that have HOLES IN THEM need to come out. The broken molar that was black when I went to Island Tower needed to come out but did they pull it? Nope. Sent me on my way with antibiotics and a near $8000 for FOUR teeth. I'm getting three pulled tomorrow for less then $3000. Island Tower Dentistry is here to make the most money they can and not actually help folks. Don't even accept any insurance. I would NEVER recommend anyone coming here. They want your money and if your a senior, watch out or they'll sell you on those millions of bone graphs, too.

The office was clean and the equipment appeared to be state of the art. Dr. Whalen was great. Fantastic experience: I'm a long-time patient of Island Tower Dentistry and I've had several dental emergencies. Angela and Hannah are wonderful and very accommodating. Each time, Angela immediately got me in to see Dr. Van Dyke who listened to my concerns, explained the available options and quickly resolved my issues. The most recent emergency involved both crowns and cosmetic work. Because of the location of the affected teeth, I opted for the two-week KoR at-home whitening, then an in-office dental whitening treatment prior to crown placement. The final results were even better than I expected. Jennifer and Mariela are the hygienists that worked with me. Both are exceptional and went to great lengths to ensure my issues were resolved to my satisfaction. Jennifer's very knowledgeable and informative. She explained step-by-step the entire process, answered all my questions, and made me comfortable with the procedure. Dr. Van Dyke and the entire staff at Island Tower Dentistry are awesome -- skilled, professional, very friendly and thorough, and I highly recommend them for all of your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Dr. VanDyke was amazing. As it was an emergency visit the response with getting me in was Monday after my Saturday call. The Dr. was away, but called me back anyway after I first called. I was in pain, justified, as two teeth were involved . His office called me promptly Monday morning for an appointment, and my problem was trouble-shot in an efficient and speedy manor that morning. I will be switching my full-time dental care to this practice.

Fantastic experience: My grandson lost a filling out of his front tooth the first night he arrived to stay with me in Marco. I looked for “emergency dentist” and found Island Tower Dentistry. Called them at 8:00 am Thursday, they got him in at 9:00 am and he was done by 10:00 am! Wonderful staff!!! Highly recommend if you have a problem or if you need a new dentist in Marco!

Fantastic experience: I felt toothache on a Saturday while vacationing on Marco Island. Island Tower Dentistry was highly recommended by my sister-in-law. I called the emergency number and quickly got a response. I was prescribed and antibiotic and told to take an acetaminophen and an ibuprofen. That got me through the weekend! I called on Monday morning and they had me come in immediately. The hygienist, Veronica, was very knowledgeable and kind. The dentist Dr. Van Dyke was so kind and pleasant and explained everything that had to be done! Saved wonderful vacation here in Marco!

Fantastic experience: I was so very impressed with Dr. Brian and Sophia. Getting a prep for 2 crowns is usually not a comfortable experience, but I hardly had any pain, even with the numbing, and the equipment they used was state of the art! Their bedside manner relaxed me and made me confident of the outcome. The rest of the staff seemed very friendly as well and made me feel right at home. I’ll definitely continue going to Island Tower Dentistry and highly recommend it to anyone!

Fantastic experience: The best experience in 11 years on the Island. The dentist and his assistant were so nice and open about my treatment. Did not try to UP sell me as I have experienced last year on the Island. I am going back next week for my root canal and crown. Very happy as a Canadian without insurance ( and you know the exchange is very bad) to have this office take care of me. Office staff is also very nice and friendly, which is very much appreciated. Fantastic experience: The office staff were friendly, and professional . The nurse stayed with me and kept me informed as to when the Dr would see me. They have the latest state of the art equipment. Dr. Vandyke spent time discussing some possible options but would first have me back for more x-rays and a more thorough exam as that they squeezed me in because it was an emergency. I felt comfortable and confident that I picked the right dentist. I already recommended him to a friend.

Fantastic experience: Veronica did a great job doing everything... Taking information, taking X-rays, cleaning teeth and explaining everything. The Doctor came in and checked my teeth and also explained everything also.

More importantly up on current options for various dental procedures. Quick no drawn out treatment plan. Dr. Whelen DDS made me feel at ease proving I was in the right hands. Fantastic experience: I had been with an awesome dental office in Des Moines for almost 40 years. I transitioned to Island Tower Dentistry about eight years ago, lucky for me. I’ve had new crowns, veneer’s and implants installed since then. Dr. VanDyke and his able assistants have performed excellently on every occasion and especially with Cleaning Specialist Lorain.
