Negative experience: Lack of communication from this office, I took the time off of work to come into my appointment and I was not inform there was a $100 change for service, they refused to see me and bill me. If I was aware in advance, I could’ve scheduled my appointment accordingly. I also never received a call back regarding a question that I had on my original appointment two months ago, now I will never know the answer. I guess it’s true finding good employees is very hard

Fantastic experience: I was worried when I had to switch my insurance and had to get a new dentist. I'm so happy I trusted these reviews because this office exceeded my expectations. I have gone twice now and was called in right at my appointment time. The front desk staff were very nice. The hygienists were amazing, very friendly and professional. Even the dentist was very personable and made you feel like you weren't just another patient.

Fantastic experience: Experience was great. Was seen right away by hygienist who was wonderful and took all my information and explained X-rays and everything to me. Dr. came in to discuss possible future procedure and also explained X-rays and what I needed to have checked since I'm considering getting partials. Everyone was great including the receptionist and woman who went over my dental plan for cost. Went to ASPEN Dental for years but will be going to Sunrise Family Dental Care from now on. In fact, my daughter and granddaughter go there now for their dental care.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this practice. They are one of the best in Waterbury

Negative experience: They applied a treatment on my son without my consent. The hygienist initially explained the benefits, and I told her I would think about it—but I never agreed. Despite that, she went ahead and applied the treatment anyway. When the clerk asked if any additional services were done, I said no because I truly didn’t know. Later that day, I received a call asking for payment, which I ended up making over the phone. This made me feel like I was being portrayed as dishonest, which is completely unfair. The hygienist should have communicated this clearly to the clerk and, most importantly, confirmed with me before performing any treatment. There needs to be better communication going forward.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional, not recommended, always rescheduling appointments. Go the day of might even tell you there’s no appointment! After the confirmation.

Positive experience: On June 12, 2025 , I had an appointment to have crowns. The dental assistant escorted me to the room I sat in the chair . The dental assistant, and I instantly struck up a conversation about dental crowns.. I said it’s important I have the right color to match my teeth and she agreed. After looking at several different shades I still wasn’t sure which one matched.. This probably took five minutes before the doctor came into room to check if I was ready.. I said to the doctor your assistant is working with me to choose the best color to match my teeth . The doctor relied “,take as much time as you need too”. His assistant continue to assist me in finding the right color to match my teeth . A few minutes later, the doctor came back into the room stated “it’s too late for the procedure to be done”. his assistant said you will have to be reschedule. I was in shock to say the least.. Why didn’t the doctor or the assistant tell me this during our conversation the procedure is done first .Then you have the opportunity to pick out the Shade/color to match your teeth. I was charged fee of $66 for just sitting in the chair without having any work done. Then rescheduled for September 2, 2025 two much later. I am truly upset this happened and I don’t want it to happen to anyone else. Communicating with your Patient is an important tool as well as Patient communicating with their provider/doctor

Negative experience: Have to give one star but I would give 0 stars if I could this is by far one of the WORST places in the world very incompetent people who say one and do another hours later apt @2 did not get in till 4 cause they lied and said pay first would not recommend my worst enemy to come here

Negative experience: They gave my appointment away without mine or my orthodontist approval saying that we had to confirm the day before which we never had to do. The lady they squeezed me in with was trying to yank the wire out when it was obviously stuck. It was very uncomfortable. They left me with two broken brackets. They need to get it together.

Positive experience: I still go to this practice specifically for Marquita. She has been cleaning my teeth for yearsss and truly is amazing!! I can't say enough good things about her. She's incredibly thorough with every cleaning. She's always right on time, which I really appreciate, and on top of all that, she's just a genuinely kind and sweet person. You can tell she truly cares about her patients and their comfort. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: My dental plan is very thorough, efficient, and financially within reach! The staff were so nice and welcoming, and made me feel so comfortable. I've been terrified of getting an implant, so I suffered for years. My implant was absolutely quick and painless! Literally, zero pain! The doctor accommodated my extreme nervousness and I am so grateful!! Edit to update; years later and I still have a exceptional experience everytime. Marquita works with me to calm my nerves and is empathetic and kind. A warm thank you to Marquita and the staff!

Negative experience: Terrible office management. They cancelled my appointment without actually speaking to me. They claim to have called and left messages but I never got them. When I showed up they said they would try and sneak me in only to leave me in the waiting room for an hour and were not able to get me in. I left and went somewhere else. My new dentist requested my X-rays from them 3 times. I go to my new dentist today for an appointment only to find out sunrise never sent them over….another wasted morning. My new dentist called them while I was there and sunrise put them on hold for 22 minutes. I wouldn’t go to this office if it was for free.

She is incredibly patient and takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, making sure I feel comfortable every step of the way. Her passion for her job truly shines through in the care she provides. I always leave my appointments feeling well-informed and at ease. Negative experience: I recently visited Sunrise Family Dental Care to have a tooth pulled. During the procedure, the doctor accidentally cracked my bridge. Instead of taking responsibility, he initially suggested that I travel to another country to have it fixed because it would be cheaper. I refused, explaining that since he caused the damage, it should be fixed there. At that point, he became visibly upset and treated me with unprofessional and rude behavior, providing terrible customer service. When I requested to speak with the manager, I expected better assistance. However, she seemed more focused on defending the doctor rather than addressing my concerns. After much discussion, she finally agreed that the repair would be done at no cost and scheduled an appointment for me. When I arrived for my appointment, the doctor didn’t even greet me. He worked on my bridge roughly, as if he were handling a piece of wood rather than performing dental work. Despite being told the repair would be free, I was later charged $438 out of pocket, and my insurance was billed $1,714—leaving me with no remaining coverage for the year. This experience was beyond disappointing. The unprofessionalism, lack of accountability, and poor customer service at Sunrise Family Dental Care were unacceptable. I regret choosing this office and will strongly advise others to avoid it.

Fantastic experience: This place is incredible! From the receptionist that answers the phone, to the hygienist and doctor! EVERYONE aims to help and they do! I was referred here to get my tooth extracted. Dr. D evaluated it and told me it’s a good tooth that can be saved! I was scheduled for a crown, but by the time I came in my tooth felt much better and the pain gone! Rather than proceed with the crown he recommended we give nature a chance! Dr. D said if things change they’ll see me right away! This place saved my tooth and they are definitely not about the money it’s about getting the patient what they need! I highly recommend them! It’s been about 2 years since my first review and things have only gotten better! I now bring my 2 small children, special needs brother and my very elderly grandmother and everyone is treated with the upmost care and respect! The receptionist team is also incredibly helpful and friendly! I wanted to update today specifically because I feel SO much gratitude for how much care and effort my hygienist Lindita! The amount of dedication she put into every single tooth was so appreciated. She made me feel comfortable and always stopped to check and make sure I was ok. Very friendly and pleasant! I continue to highly recommend this place!

And she was not afraid at all and loved it and Lindita was the one who cleaned and was so patient and kind. highly recommended to those of you who are looking for cleaning teeth for toddlers.most importantly the entire team is so friendly and professional.

Positive experience: The dentist my daughter saw didn't introduce himself, he didn't even look at me. He put on 1 glove, didn't sit down and looked at her teeth with the mirror and left the room. I do NOT want to see him again. Dr. Patel saw my boys and he was very nice. He took the time to talk and explain things to me. He did a very thorough exam amd I am very happy with him.

Fantastic experience: I needed dental clearance for much needed surgery and Dr. Mir and the staff at Sunrise went above and beyond to help me. From 11:00 consultation to being in his chair for dental surgery at 1:00. Never had such a positive dental experience.

Fantastic experience: Best experience ever! My niece recommended me to go and I admit I was a bit skeptical, however from the front door until the time I left I had a smile on my face. I’m typically scared of dentist, but Maryann made me so comfortable, b y the time the doctor came in I was relaxed and my anxiety was so low. The doctor treated me with so much gratitude and genuine compassion that I put my EarPods In and sat back. I have had fillings before and I have had to request more pain meds. Nope not this time! I listened to my podcast and let them do the rest. Sunrise dental rocks! Please invest in some giveaways for your families, let us represent how wonderful you are!

Fantastic experience: Friendly office. Appreciated when the primary dentist pulled me aside to explain the X-Ray results for my son and I, and what the plan will be going forward. But the highlight of our visit was interacting with Nora, one of the dental hygienists. Nora’s warm smile and friendly demeanor was calming to our son (was very nervous prior) and helped make the visit much more enjoyable. Our family is appreciative of Nora and highly recommend this dental clinic!

Fantastic experience: Amazing my wife took my daughter first time as long as they had what they needed meaning referral my daughter got her extraction. They are gentle and very professional the oral surgeons and general dentist as well

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with the service and my Invisalign treatment. I wish to have it done elsewhere. My appts have been canceled frequently, and I have been sent to different locations because something happened with the orthodoxies. Every new orthodontist thinks I need to start with a new attachment and wait for new alignments. Later, I was scheduled with another orthodontist who said she must remove all my attachments and add new ones because the current ones were not working anymore for the treatment. Consequently, I needed to wait for new ailments, and the appointments were between 3 and 4 weeks. And the worst part is that when I saw the new orthodontist, he made me feel guilty for not coming to my treatment before!!! Seriously, it's not worth it.

Fantastic experience: I’m happy with the care I’ve received at Sunrise Dental. The dentist is thorough and professional, asks for patient input, truly listens. He did a great job restoring my smile. He and his staff are friendly, and the whole atmosphere of the practice is tranquil and organized. I definitely recommend!

Negative experience: I've been a patient of this practice for years. My family and I see Dr. Tawk and absolutely love how caring and attentive he is. He has the best bedside care and is so gentle and kind to his patients. We also love our hygienist Lindita and Marquesha-both are professional and so good at their jobs. However, can't say the same for the front desk staff. It seems that there's always new front desk staff. At my recent office visit, I was shocked to know that when I was given a prescription for antibiotics, not only could the script not be sent in electronically, but was told that no one in the office could call it into the pharmacy-so upsetting know that this could not be done with today's updated system, but especially that no one in the office was competent to call in a script. I wanted to schedule a follow up appointment with Dr. Tawk, but was told that Dr. Tawk was booking into October, yet no one bother to schedule me an appointment with him nor offered, to put me on a cancellation list. Not the best customer service.

Positive experience: Been going here for about 2 years Nora and Marquita are amazing. My husband was overcharged, which they informed me off, I let the credit for the next time. They switch computer systems and they my husband, didn’t give my husband the credit he paid the balance in full. I called to inquire they told me he was charged in error they will send me a check in the mail for the refund in 5-7 business days this was in February 2024. They I called in April they told me I don’t have a credit. Don’t think I’ll be going back even thought I love my hygienist

Negative experience: I spoke with the office manager today who told me my surprise bill was because of a NEEDLESS PROCEDURE. I will let everyone I know know to avoid this practice. I hope it was worth it to lose a long time patient.

Negative experience: Inservicing is needed for the front desk on customer service. Wanted to leave but already took two days off of work! Please check any bills and f/u with your insurance before you think you have to pay. Poor in explaining anything but want to collect immediately. The only reason for two stars is for Bree the office manager and Tracy the dental assistant who assisted in my multiple teeth removal.

Positive experience: When I arrived, check in was with Kevin. He was very nice, respectful young man abd helpful with my paperwork. I did not wait more than 5 mins and brought in room to have xray taken, answer some questions saw dentist and he explained what I needed.

Fantastic experience: My daughter (10) shared these details about her dental hygienist and her experience. "I liked her style. She tickled my tongue and my teeth! I liked to go and I would go again!" All my children are very comfortable and enjoy going to Sunrise Family Dental for their dental care.

Negative experience: Had the worst experience ever in a Dental office. I went with a tooth pain and saw a specialist who didn’t even bothered to help or even provide me with pain killers. I had to call my PCP and she was able to help me. Not only that, days after I called telling that I wasn’t happy how it was handle and the lady started blaming it on me because I didn’t took care of the problem after explaining to the lady that I had surgery and was going through some health problems. I hated it here!

Negative experience: I had a horrible experience at this office yesterday. I have been going to this office for a while now and my daughter used to work there. She used to say this place was the best but now it’s the worst. This new doctor Edwards is unprofessional and has no customer service. My whole family used to go there and they all said the same thing. The service is not what it used to be. When we tried giving this new doctor the opportunity to do things right, she chose to keep doing things wrong. We won’t be going back. So long- you just lost a big family of 15 because you can’t better your doctor.

Fantastic experience: Lindita has been my hygenist for the past 3 years. I had horrible experiences before. Finally found the perfect dentist office, the office people up is really kind and sweet. My hygienist actually cares abouts my health and teeth. Highly recommend if you need a dentist 3 year update, still coming here 3x a year (I like to get an extra cleaning a year to keep in top top shape) but still amazing as ever and hygienist not only treats my with great care but educated me to keep myself with good dental care out of the office

Fantastic experience: After nearly a year of being pushed off by my regular dentist who claimed I had a cavity that was going to be terrible for me, I came to Sunrise Dental who was able to schedule me in two days. They let me know it wasn’t even a cavity but only staining from the previous filling and can be removed and corrected. My cleaning was super smooth and the hygienist was one of the best I’ve ever had. I normally don’t do reviews unless it’s for something I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I haven’t had a cleaning in probably 4 or 5 years. Shocking I know, but I came to sunrise because it was on the recommended list for dentist providers on my insurance. The visit was great I was talked to every second of the cleaning. If I had any questions they were answered. Atmosphere was good and staff were friendly.

The staff told me “mom you need to take care of yourself we will help you” they took my two older kids in right away and they loved their experience! My experience was amazing. They took my baby rocked her sang to her played with her so i can get my cleaning done. I’ve never felt so welcomed in any office before! I felt like i knew them all for years. As a mom who has no help and always puts herself last, it was so nice to have all the staff treat me great as well as my kids. I deff found my forever dentist office. Thank you sunrise staff for being so amazing!

Positive experience: As a new patient to Sunrise Family Dental Care I have been exceedingly happy with the work I've gotten done so far! The staff are very friendly, welcoming and professional. Looking forward to maintaining a great relationship.

Fantastic experience: Short wait, but I arrived early. Receptionist nice and polite and efficient. The Dental Technician who cleaned my teeth was friendly, caring and very efficient. Did needed xrays and consulted with Dentist. Dentist came in and examined my teeth and xrays and made what I believe was an appropriate referral. Appointment made for 6 month cleaning. All OK.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience for my first time at this office. The staff was friendly and helpful - and they greeted me with smiles! My teeth are exceptionally clean and Marquita schooled this teacher on plaque and tartar build up

Fantastic experience: 5 star experience!! My appointment was with Aisha (not positive of the spelling) and she went above and beyond to ensure I had a positive experience. Her, along with a woman working the front desk were kind enough to go the extra mile and reach out to my insurance to ensure something additional was covered. Overly grateful to have been booked with her for my potential last appointment before moving and can't recommend her enough!

Fantastic experience: My family have been loyal patients to Sunrise dental for years. We have seen them through many changes and we appreciate the hard work and kindness from the staff. Dr. Deros is Gold and Marquita is the absolute BEST hygienist..hands down! I had a family member that has had bad experiences at the dentist so I sent them to Marquita and it was the best experience they’ve ever had. She’s amazing at what she does and her way of handling patients is done with such care and professionalism. She goes the extra mile to ensure that you understand what she’s saying and why. She sets the bar for how it should be!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so friendly and professional. My kids feel comfortable here with all the staff and of course they have their favorites but overall love everyone. As a mom of 5, I am very happy with the care all of my children receive here. They’re patient with my son who is deathly afraid of the dentist office from dynobite smiles.
