Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this office. I scheduled a routine cleaning, but when I arrived, the dentist refused to perform it. Instead, I was told I needed an “extra” cleaning that would cost $700 and wasn’t covered by my insurance. When I asked for a standard cleaning—the service I had booked—they still refused. It felt like I was being pushed into unnecessary, expensive treatment instead of receiving the preventive care I came in for. I left without getting my teeth cleaned and will be finding a new dentist who respects their patients’ needs and provides transparent, ethical care.

Fantastic experience: I haven’t been to the dentist in a few years, this place has been such a pleasure to visit. The way they walked me through the whole process, and went through all my acne made me feel really comfortable. At the end of my exam Yass went over my treatment plan as well as my payment plans as well which really made the whole experience super easy!

Negative experience: Wanted teeth whitening because my dentist doesn't provide it. My dental X-rays and teeth cleaning were only a week old but they insisted they needed to do it again before I could get my teeth whitened. It's all about the money.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with my experience at Northern Edge Dentistry. I came in to have a crown re-cemented — a simple procedure that should have been quick and inexpensive. Before the appointment, I sent them my insurance card and was told there would be no co-pay after they verified my benefits. However, once I was in the chair, they added multiple unnecessary procedures without my clear consent — including periodontal scaling, laser therapy, and antimicrobial rinses — and then handed me a surprise bill for $352, claiming my insurance wouldn't cover most of it. I only needed the crown glued back on, which was still intact and functional. This felt like a clear case of upselling services I didn’t request or authorize. When I asked for an explanation, I didn’t get a satisfying answer. The whole experience felt misleading and left me feeling taken advantage of. I would not recommend this place if you value transparent pricing and honest communication.

Negative experience: We moved to North Las Vegas from California a couple of years ago and needed to find a dental provider. We selected Northern Edge Dentistry as they were in network, close to our home and able to schedule us quickly. I needed an appointment quickly as my elderly mother was in decline and it was apparent I would be spending considerable time out of state. I requested a cleaning/exam appointment. We had a dentist in California we were seeing for 20 years and got our regular six month cleanings in addition to other work that might be needed. To my dismay, we were both told a deep cleaning would be necessary due to periodontal disease. This really surprised me as we always got our cleanings as advised and our California dentist would have told us if a deep cleaning was necessary. I was shocked when I was offered $25 off the bill for an online review. I quickly understood why this practice has so many good online reviews. It seems very likely that the billable deep cleaning was “needed” so it can be discounted if I left an online review. Unethical and illegal! As mentioned earlier, I was soon going to be heading out of state for an extended period of time so I went ahead with the deep cleaning despite my doubts. The periodontal probe showed mostly twos and threes, with a four in the corner. The hygienist (no longer with this practice) who did the deep cleaning commented that my gums were not that bad. This made me very suspicious. I did head out of state to help my mother who was in decline. I took her to the dentist and I mentioned my deep cleaning to the hygienist who said I did not need a deep clean based on the periodontal probe numbers and being on a regular cleaning schedule. Based on other reviews, it seems this practice diagnoses most new patients with periodontal disease and requires a deep cleaning whether needed or not. As periodontal patients often need more frequent cleanings, my next cleaning was scheduled for three months. I needed to reschedule my “periodontal maintenance cleaning” as I was out of state helping my mother. I called the office several weeks ahead of my appointment to cancel and informed them of the reason and said I would reschedule when back in town. I was scolded by one of the front desk staff for not getting my cleaning as scheduled. Really, really unbelievable! So my “periodontal maintenance cleaning” was rescheduled for later than the front desk person thought was acceptable. Guess what? Teeth and gums in good shape! My plan was to get my cleanings at Northern Edge when I was in town as long as I would be spending considerable time out of state. Once my situation stabilized, I would look for a different dental provider. Despite the added cleanings, I never got a thorough exam at Northern Edge. Several years ago, I had a serious oral health issue and I never got a thorough followup exam. My mother has since passed and most of the estate issues have now been settled so it means I can settle down and will be here most of the time. I did find another dental provider. I was told I didn’t need a deep clean and given a regular cleaning which is covered in full by my insurance and told to return in six months. There is a co-pay for “periodontal maintenance cleanings” and only two a year are covered by insurance so thankfully I won’t incur these expenses as long as I keep my teeth and gums clean. My new dentist was very thorough, asked a lot of questions about my prior oral health issue and gave me a comprehensive exam. And I wasn’t asked to give an online review! The thorough exam by my new provider and being put on a preventive six month cleaning regimen shows what a ripoff Northern Edge Dentistry is!

Negative experience: FAUD!!!!! THEY GIVE YOU INCENTIVES TO WRITE GOOD REVIEWS!! I came to this office with a toothache, they took all kinds of fancy X-rays and even took pictures of my mouth on a professional camera which was unnecessary. They told me I need to have my tooth extracted and do an implant as soon as possible because my tooth "cracked" inside, according to them. I did not see any crack on the X-ray. They offered me a treatment plan where I will pay close to $3,000 out of pocket. I asked for the codes that they're going to bill to my insurance, they could not do that on the spot. They told me it's going to take several weeks, so it's been a month and I still haven't gotten any. I even called my insurance and they told me that it's done immediately in the computer system. THAT IS A BIG RED FLAG! Long story short, I took pictures of my x-ray, sent them to my dentist overseas and my doctor was shocked that I was even offered to do the implant to begin with. I was recommended to buy a waterpick and use Listerine more often. GUESS WHAT? MY TOOTHACHE IS GONE! ALL I HAD WAS AN INFLAMED GUM! SO MY TREATMENT COST ME ABOUT $40 (Walmart water pick and Listerine) INSTEAD OF $3,000.

Dr. Pham explained my dental needs in a way for me to easily understand, Cynthia was great with my pictures, Yass was great with payment processing/insurance and Briony did an impressive job with my cleaning. Negative experience: Avoid at all costs! This place was recommended to me by a coworker, so I came here for an annual checkup and a cleaning. Instead of the dentist I made the appointment for, I got some rookie kid straight out of dental school, who after reviewing my xrays "found" a cavity under an existing crown. She told me it would be no big deal to fix, which was important to me because it was right before the Holidays, and several out of town trips. I asked if we could just do the cleaning, and deal with the cavity in the new year, since it wasn't bothering me. She insisted it be dealt with immediately, dismissing my concerns. So they pulled my good crown, destroyed it in the process, overdrilled the cavity, exposing the nerve of the tooth, then told me I might need a root canal, which they can't do. So, temp crown #1. Measured for permanent. Off to endodontist, $1500 root canal. Back here for new crown. Doesn't fit. remeasure, order new crown. 3 week wait, because they use a lab in Florida instead of a local one. Holidays and business trips impacted due to temp crown and tooth pain. Return visit #2 for permanent crown, doesn't fit, remeasure, reorder, 3 more weeks. Now they want a deep cleaning before they remeasure, but then hand me a waiver which tells me I could suffer tooth loss or massive infections from that procedure. The owner won't call me to discuss, and wants a billable appointment to discuss the mistakes made by her staff. She's only here 2 days a week, so good luck getting that appointment. This is literally the worst dental practice I've ever dealt with. Run, don't walk to another provider.
