Fantastic experience: I got through on a Mon. holiday being unable to reach my current dentist who I knew does not do root canals which I was pretty sure I would need! I was able to make an appt for the following day! First time ever here & I was very pleased with everything. Everyone was super nice, it feels clean, modern, and I didn't feel pressured in any way! I'm going back for a root canal after a brief exam by Dr Walsh who was great! If all goes well, this will be my new dentist because I like that they have everything here, from general dentistry, to extractions to implants & more. That's what attracted me, so I don't have to go to different places & specialists since it's all right here and I'm expecting I may need more work soon!

Fantastic experience: Nothing but expert, highly trained, compassionate and positive spirit throughout the complicated surgery. If you have to have oral surgery this is the finest. High cost was met by impeccable performance and clear explanations. I dealt with at least 8 individual women while I being treated, angels! I was safe and cared for.

Newton Dental Associates on Union Street, Newton Centre has exceptional professionals to take care of all your dental needs. Experienced, gentle, and provide you with expert advice and care. Dr. Walsh is always upbeat and explains the situation so you understand and can make choices. I’ve had extensive work done by him and I’m always happy with the results. From cavities, broken teeth, cleanings, crowns, and root canals, they do it all. As for a hygienist , do ask for Brooke. She does an excellent job cleaning my teeth and does so with care and experience. I highly recommend Newton Dental Associates!

Fantastic experience: As we were moving our son into his freshman dorm his bridge came out. Being from out of state we didn’t have a local dentist. With the help of our dentist back home, we came upon Newton Dental Associates and took a chance. I’m so glad we did. They gave my son an appt on the same day with Dr. Walsh. I cannot thank Dr. Walsh and the practice as a whole for accommodating my son and fixing his issue so that he could start his college experience with a big smile. It is comforting to have found this resource while my son resides in the area.

Fantastic experience: 30 July 2025 The care today was excellent BUT: you continue to use this clumsy bit of tech. To offer an opinion I effectively had to break into an older message! Surely you can find a better service! 26 Mar 2025 (Text below === is from previous visits. This is an unsophisticated bit of technology. Surely you can find a better service!). Today, care excellent Problem, I indicated I needed a new tube of the recommended fluoride toothpaste; I didn’t get it. ============================== Care and all of visit: great. BUT: you sent text with request for this review using an alert tone! STOP using the alert tone. I can read a text without being told it is urgent. PLEASE! The above is from a visit 4 months ago. Thank you for removing the inappropriate alert tone. But your system still has problems. The two paragraphs above appear and it seemed impossible to write anything. I finally found I could tap exactly after the “!” And then write this. This is not an intuitive process for providing comments. Now on today’s visit: Care: excellent New waiting area: no coat rack; chairs on West side have inadequate aisles - everyone has to shift to let another pass. Checkout area: lots of positions - but many minutes of waiting for staff to show up. March 2024: Service was fine. New advance notices reminding me of appointment have heavy handed notice about a charge of $100 if visit is cancelled within 3 days. So if a patient goes positive with Covid they can save $100 by coming in and infecting your staff! Yes - it says “May” charge, but there is no explicit reasons for ducking the charge. Many readers will not see the undefined “May.” It is pretty crude and probably violates one or more laws. This file goes back about an hour. Will it continue to accumulate forever? ———————————— This review system is a bit weird - it is feeding back to me all previous reviews. I hope that feature will disappear. I don’t plan to respond in the future if that continues. July 2024: the entire visit experience was excellent. Nov 2024: visit excellent. As noted a few lines above - this review system is weird.

Fantastic experience: The facility's equipment is state of the art, the staff is very friendly and Dr. Ami Amini-Salari and Dr. Ashley Amini-Sami are very professional and knowledgeable. It was a great experience.

Fantastic experience: After so many years "together", I was prepared to miss Annette at this appointment. However, it was a pleasure to meet Rose. I appreciate her skill and personality.

Fantastic experience: I had a recent visit with my exceptional warm, competent and encouraging hygienist Annette. She gives me guidance to protect my teeth and gums. They fit me in that same day to see Dr. Walsh and Rose his assistant who filled a cavity close to the root. I was nervous but I did not feel a thing. He said my tooth might be sensitive to heat and cold when I got home. I have had no symptoms. I wear a partial denture that Dr.Walsh created for me at least for 15 years. He is artistic, precise and has excellent skills no matter what problem you present him with. I have such confidence and feel very fortunate and appreciative to receive my care from this team of professionals. They are very caring professionals who are a tribute to the dental profession On July 10, 2025 I met with Brooks, my new hygienist who was kind, competent and who worked with precision in cleaning my teeth and taking xrays. Dr. Walsh perused the xrays and advised me that I will need a new crown and why. I totally have trust in his assessment. He has always tried to be proactive in treating my teeth. Fantastic experience: While Newton Dental may not be one of the least expensive dental groups, they do extremely good work. They have the latest "hi tech" equipment and a very fine staff. Our primary dentist, Jane Osofsky, has taken exceptionally good care of our teeth -- especially in correcting some of the old-fashioned work done by others in the past. Dr. Baliche is a world-class oral surgeon who has done great work on my implants -- both old and new.

Negative experience: This clinic is horrible! My daughter has been the patient since 2023 and she has delta dental insurance, which has Newton Dental Associates clinic in the network. Before her half-year cleaning visit in April, I received a message from Newton Dental associates that my insurance card has expired. During the visit, I gave my insurance card to front desk and she updated the information without telling me that Newton Dental Associates is not in the network of Delta dental insurance anymore. When I checked-out, I was told that I need to pay all the cost in the front and then Delta will pay me back to credit. I asked why, but they told me that Delta changed the policy with Newton Dental Associates. Therefore, I paid everything and also went to a second appointment (cavity filling), in which I did the same thing. Recently, I have received two EOBs and found out I had to pay most of the part. I went to the clinic to figure out what happened. Originally, the lady said it was Delta policy. Then, she reluctantly told me that this clinic is not in the network of Delta Dental anymore. I think she knows what is going on, but would not take the responsibilities. I emailed and called operation officer to see if this situation can be resolved. She just ignored my request and never responded to me. The communication with billing system is very frustrating.

Fantastic experience: Cudos to Dr Berik and my recent Invisalign experience which exceeded all my expectations. The technology and Dr Berik’s expertise are amazing. I had expected the process to take at least 6 months but with the Infrared light therapy Dr Berik created I was done in 11 weeks. Make sure you watch the video detailing your weekly progress. It’s like a Star Wars experience in a dental chair. Who knew!!

Fantastic experience: What a great experience! Just got back from my first appointment at Newton Dental Associates, and was VERY impressed with their service. Tayla and Dr. Walsh were just great. Excellent manner and very knowledgeable - I would recommend them to everyone!

Negative experience: Be very very careful with Newton Dental Associates. They will overcharge you in ways you cannot imagine. The equipment is state of the art. The dental team is friendly and they smile a lot. They will explain everything in great detail and then charge you 8 times more than what was discussed. But by then it is too late. They are not Better Business Bureau Accredited. There are many, many complaints online about their billing practices. I do not question their dental team’s abilities. The dental care is solid, but you will pay.

Fantastic experience: Dr Erickson is knowledgeable and up to date on current trends in dental care. The staff are always thoughtful, friendly and thorough. I even drive out of my way to Newton Dental because it’s worth it.

Positive experience: Dental care was excellent but they forgot to check the fit of a new filling to my Invisalign. So I am unable to wear my Invisalign until that gets corrected. (They remembered to check for one of the teeth I had worked on, but not the other) Overall I have had a very good experience and I am sure this will be corrected promptly.

Fantastic experience: This is a well-run office. The staff are friendly and very professional. I was in for a semi-annual cleaning and check up with Dr. Walsh, and was pleased with the appointment. I have been a patient at this practice for more than 30 years.

Fantastic experience: My experiences were great from beginning to end today. Wonderful welcome from the front desk woman. I was brought in and efficiently cared for with great hygienist Annette Doogan who was knowledgeable and took great care of me. She was stellar at cleaning, which is a process that can be uncomfortable, but, due to her care and expertise, it was flawless. Visit with Dr. Berik could not have been better, she is articulate, witty, extremely skilled, and incredibly talented. She makes going to the dentist a uniquely enjoyable experience for me.

Negative experience: Horrible. If I could give a negative review, I would. Clearly their receptionist that book the appointments for you, have no clue what they’re talking about AND they make ISH up. They lied to me not once but twice. They’re snobby. Take it back to day one (three weeks ago) I gave them my insurance information, they weren’t sure if they accepted it/ if it was for just medical….I told them I get dental coverage with my insurance as well. They said they would look into it to make sure I was covered.…a week and a half before my appointment, I called and asked if they were able to figure if I was covered... They didn’t have an answer for me other than, ‘it’s a bit busy today so I can check into this tomorrow’. So I rescheduled my appointment two weeks further because I had the feeling she wouldn’t get to it. The following week comes, I call, same thing. ‘We’re a bit busy and didn’t get the chance to check, I can look into this tomorrow and call you back’. I asked they leave a voicemail because I also work 8-5pm and can’t answer my phone unless I’m on lunch. Fast forward again… The week of 2/17…I call Monday no answer. Probably because it’s a holiday but their website said they were open. I called again and left a voicemail for them to call me in regards to my concerns. Tuesday 2/18 I call them to see if I’m covered by my insurance. The girl tells me ‘I see here in our notes that the last girl you spoke to went over the costs with you’. I replied to her…’umm no one told me any costs because if that had happened I wouldn’t be wasting my time in calling you today to ask if my insurance was covering it’. She also went on to tell me that Friendly dental didn’t have any X-rays of my teeth…I corrected her and told her that wasn’t my dentist and I haven’t had that dentist since I was 21…….im 26 now and I have our family dental…she replied ‘that’s what I said’ I replied ‘no you didn’t or else I wouldn’t be correcting you’ anyhow, I called my dentist about this and they NEVER received a call from Newton…shocker.. anyhow, I asked asked that they send over the X-rays that they have and they did whilst I was on the phone…fast forward to today (2/19) to me driving an hour out to see the ‘oral facial pain specialist’ (as I was told by the receptionist that booked my appt that they had one of these specialists that only come to this location on Wednesdays)….I ask aalllllll the questions before she comes in to examine me. Cost. What’s happening today, etc……let me tell you…she saw me for maybe 3 minutes. Yep. THREE MINUTES. I’ll be nice and give her 5. Sidnt even look at my X-rays. Examined me for 30 seconds. She told me she’s not a specialist and that she is a surgeon….I explained to her that I was informed otherwise….HENCE WHY I WAS THERE. Oh and yes, incase you’re wondering, I still got charged the full $170 for her to see me for 3 minutes. For something she couldn’t even do and couldn’t help me with. She told me to go to Mass general. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Not how you operate a business. Now I see why this place only has 3 stars. I could go on with more, b he believe me …this IS the short version

Negative experience: I contacted this office over the phone for an implant consultation and a cost estimate. However, I was told that an in-person appointment would be required. I arrived at 9:30 AM for my scheduled appointment and was seen at 9:40 AM. The entire visit was brief and consisted of: 5 minutes of casual conversation with the staff 5 minutes of waiting 5 minutes with Dr. Amini, who provided only a brief explanation of the procedure 5 minutes with the office manager before I finally received a cost estimate at 10:03 AM This will be my 2nd implant. About my crown treatment, I previously had a 6061 metal crown, which I asked for again. However, they instead provided 6057 and 6058, citing the location of tooth #18 as the reason. A metal crown is the superior functionally and financially, yet my request was ignored. I called the reception to request an explanation and was told they would leave a message for the office manager. I just wanted to let you know that I never received a response. To make matters worse, I also emailed them a week ago—again, with no reply. Despite this lack of communication and service, I have now been charged over $200 for a rushed consultation with little value. This is entirely unacceptable. Their lack of responsiveness and excessive fees demonstrate a disregard for patient care.

Negative experience: Zero stars if I could!!!! This place is absolutely terrible. I came here years ago as a naive young patient with dental anxiety. They removed my wisdom teeth and when I was leaving after anesthesia, barely awake at the counter they wanted me to pay THOUSANDS up front at the check out. I was unable to pay this and very confused since I had dental insurance. They never once told me there was a cost, never quoted me until after. To this day 6 years later, they are harassing me for money and making unauthorized charges to my card. To the point I have had to cancel my debit card. They just recently sent me a letter saying they are suing me and have a WARRANT out for my arrest!!!! I have never received an invoice saying what they billed insurance and they are still trying to take thousands from me. STAY AWAY. YOU CAN SEE OTHER REVIEWS SAYING THE SAME THING. this is an awful establishment. Watch out.

Fantastic experience: Newton Dental Associates is the best. Here’s how: Professional and ultra clean office. Hygenist, Brooke, does a great job. She is thorough but works quickly and efficiently. She’s also a pleasure to work with as is Dr. Walsh. He is wonderful. I highly recommend this office.

Fantastic experience: I was having pain in one of my teeth. My former dentist thought it was TMJ. At newton dental associates I was diagnosed with an abscess and treated appropriately. Finally my tooth has stopped hurting. Dr Berik saw me quickly, carefully examined me, explained what needed to be done and got me treated.

Fantastic experience: Holy crap best dentists I’ve been to hands down. I’m a scientist so I like all the scientific deets on my teeth and they spilled. They were also very encouraging and thoughtful as well as sensitive to my insecurities. Additionally, they were very reasonable about hygiene expectations as in realistic about time and finances. I loved the entire team who helped me from the hygienist, assistant and Dr Eriksen.

Fantastic experience: Excellent cleaning. Anything else I needed. Yesterday an old crown came off. Called Newton Dental, appt for next day, came in and doc reattached it PDQ. Zip zip and off I went to eating nuts again (though not without dropping over $200.)

I went in their for a second opinion after bit of a scare about a situation. The doctor and the surgeon made me feel at ease, explained what was going on step-by-step and talked me through treatment plan. And very helpful staff helped me navigate insurance gauntlet. Fantastic experience: I recently became a new patient of Newton Dental Associates. Dr. Berik and her staff were well recommended and I was hoping to have an appointment relatively soon as I had a tooth that needed attention. I was offered an appointment within 2 days. The new patient forms were easily managed and all questions I had were answered. I was taken on time and introduced to Ling, Dr. Berik’s assistant who took X-rays and then introduced me to Dr. Berik who explained the procedure needed to fix my tooth, a crown, and completed the part to be done that day. Dr Berik’s concern for my comfort was reassuring, even applying chap stick to my dry lips, an unexpected kindness. I highly recommend Dr Berik and all of her staff. The equipment always seems to be updated to what, I assume, is state of the art and the entire suite is meticulously clean and comfortable. I've been going here for over ten years and couldn't be happier.

Positive experience: Let me start by saying I rarely review unless I am really taken off guard and feel people should be made aware of a situation. I made an appointment as a new patient recently. I expected to have a cleaning and an exam by the dentist and possible x-rays if I was due. When I arrived I was informed that all new patients spend an hour with the dentist and then had to schedule an appointment for cleaning at a later date. Cleaning was the primary purpose of me scheduling this appointment. Mine was scheduled for the same day several hours later- conflicting with when I had to pick up my children from school. I was able to make other arrangements to get my kids picked up from school and they were able to move up my cleaning slightly, to their credit, because arranging another cleaning was looking like month's down the road. I was then presented with a rather large bill when I exited. I have no problem with this model in general, however, I feel like this should be fully explained when a new patient books an appointment so there are no surprises. I also believe that pricing should be transparent as well. I feel this would be more ethical and professional way to handle a practice of dentistry that is quite different than the majority of practices that most patients will have encountered in their lives.

Fantastic experience: I started going to Newton Dental Associates in 2020 during the pandemic. I had a dental emergency and my family dentist wouldn't return my call. Dr. Berik responded right away and had me come in that day. Personally she is an awesome person, super down to earth and extremely caring. The care she has for her patients is readily evident by the personal attention she provides. Professionally, she is incredibly knowledgeable and stays on top of her field with new developments as is readily evident just by chatting with her. My quality of life has markedly improved ever since she addressed my misaligned bite that was nagging me for decades. Since then, I've had multiple other procedures done there and each time my experience has been great. Her practice is popular for a reason and that is due to the extraordinary level of care both she and her staff provide their patients. I couldn't recommend her practice enough - I think they are the best around and wouldn't think of going elsewhere.

Negative experience: Make sure you ask if you are in network and ensure they don’t bill your insurance for the expensive comprehensive exam before you have them do a benefit check. If you want just normal cleanings. I do not recommend coming here. They are more geared towards cosmetic dentistry

Negative experience: The dentist (Dr. Prince) walked me to the check out desk and told the receptionist to add a code to my bill which ended up increasing the cost by $500, he never explained this to me during the appointment or said he was doing anything extra or why it was necessary. It caused me to lose trust in him and I found a great in-network and honest dentist to finish the work I needed done. They overcharge and are not trustworthy. Be very careful if you get any care here, in the end it was not worth the cost and I got much better care elsewhere. I regret the care I received here and how much I paid for it- very expensive lesson learned!

They were willing to come early just so I could have surgery before I have to travel. Fantastic experience: Dr. Balice is an incredible oral surgeon. The procedures are painless, which is very important to me. He is kind, understanding, and listens well to my concerns. I heal well afterwards with minimal discomfort after the procedure. I can't recommend him enough.

Fantastic experience: I am in the process of getting a single dental implant. Today I had a titanium post placed in my jaw. My surgeon is Dr. Salari. I find Dr. Salari to be an extremely kind, warm, and down to earth person. She communicates very clearly and let me know what was going on each step of the way. In addition, Dr. Salari has top notch credentials and qualifications (M.D., D.M.D., Ph.D.). I highly recommend her for anyone in need of an excellent oral surgeon! I would also like to recommend Newton dental Associates more generally. I have been a patient here for over 15 years. I have seen both Dr. Berik and Dr. Walsh. This practice utilizes state of the art techniques/technology and provides top notch general and cosmetic dental care. The hygienists are also excellent and making or changing appointments throughout the practice is seamless.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Newton Dental is truly amazing! I had such a great first appointment and they made me feel super welcome. They were very understanding of my dental anxiety and did everything possible to make me feel comfortable and cared for including by playing music and giving me a stress ball. Dr. Raber, Michelle, and Shayna were all great to work with and I’d highly recommend their dental care. You can really tell that they care about their patients and go out of their way to make it a patient-centered experience.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Belice and his assistant Princess are a “Dream Team”- earlier this week Dr. Belice performed a gum graft for me, the second one (different area!) this year. The procedure was pretty much pain free and the recovery is going very well. I should mention that I have been a patient at NDA for over 40 years now! Dr. Berik, Dr. Walsh, Dr. Basseghi and Dr. Osofsky have been taking care of my dental needs (often complicated) for years and I can’t imagine going elsewhere!

Positive experience: I had a good hygiene appointment at my last visit! I almost always have a good visit, but what is strange is that my husband does not. I never am asked to pay a full balance on the spot force crown etc, but my husband is every time. Twice he has had crowns put in at this dental practice break. And no one has been available in the practice to cover emergencies, even when he is in significant pain. Last time they were 20 minutes late for his appointment and gave him a 5$ gift card to make up for it. So, my family had had great and lousy service at this dental practice. We have been patients since 2016. I guess I wonder: why such inconsistency?

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this practice enough! I had a few traumatic dental experiences over the last 10 years and was really afraid to go to the dentist. From the minute I first called to book an appointment, everyone has been incredibly gentle and supportive. I was pretty much in tears on the phone and the receptionist did not judge me at all. She encouraged me and told me Dr. O would take great care of me. I finally found Newton Dental Associates a few months ago and am happily on my journey to a healthier smile! Dr. Osofsky has been kind, compassionate, and fantastic at talking through all of my options. I've had several fillings with her and am a few months into Invisalign. She has been extremely careful with the fillings and I have never felt even a hint of pain during the procedure. For those of you considering Invisalign, do it! I am so happy with the results so far and Dr. Osofsky has been detailed and supportive. I just had oral surgery with Dr. Salari 3 days ago and you'd barely know it by looking at me! I had 3 wisdom teeth removed, another molar, a sinus lift, and 3 bone grafts and honestly it hurts less than the pain I had in my neck last week from sleeping in hotels with bad pillows. Thank you to Michelle and the other assistants for their care and compassion during the entire procedure. I was really nervous and they took the best care of me! Dr. Salari has been kind, gentle, and clearly did an amazing job on me. I am a bit sore and tender, but the pain is so much less than I expected. The swelling isn't bad either. I looked like I maybe gained a few pounds over the weekend, but I don't think anyone would guess I had oral surgery 3 days ago if they didn't know about it. I highly recommend Newton Dental Associates! If you're like I was a few months ago and really nervous to take that first step to a healthier smile, I encourage you to check out NDA! My only regret is not finding them sooner.

Fantastic experience: I need a LOT of dental work. Crowns, potential root canals, fillings, deep cleanings, regular cleanings...I knew this BEFORE I went to New Dental Associates...and let me tell you I'm SUPER-AFRAID of getting dental work done because for whatever reasons (I dunno, I have weird nerve locations) I always get pain and twinges and cold sensitivity and generally HATE the dental visits. Even when numbed, historically I still get jabs and twinges in my lower jaws and occasionally to top when having work done. I chose NDA because my sister and parents go there and say they're great. Fine. I went. I had a crown build up today on the upper right and...I felt no pain...nothing, not even mild aches, no jabs, twinges, not even a tingle. Oh sure, you have two people 3+ with instruments crammed in your kisser, but I have a big mouth and they were kind and gentle and gave me breaks before I even asked for them. I was there for about 90 minute of active dentistry and I left SO RELIEVED compared to how I arrived I actually look forward (80/20) to my next visit. So good. A few more visits like this and I'll be smiling bright and feeling great. Thank you Doctor O and Ms. A for your great work!

Positive experience: This was my first visit to have the dental cleaning. The exam and cleaning were good. The only thing surprised me was that the hygienist put topical applic fluoride varnish at the end of the cleaning, which cost was not covered by my dental insurance. However, I was not notified and got my consent before she proceeded it.

Fantastic experience: First time patient - somehow showed up a week early - I was immediately annoyed with myself figuring I just wasted a morning off work and would be turned right around - oh no, not here. They figured out how to work me in and I NEVER felt rushed or anything. Got my full cleaning and thank goodness bc I had an issue with a tooth that needed immediate attention and they got me in the same afternoon!! This office is super high tech and I have never seen such a cool tool as iTera - they are really at the cutting edge of care at this office and I am so happy to have found my new dentist!!! I could go on and on of the positive things to say about my new dentist - really amazing group here and they are so personable!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a high tech, conservative approach cost transparency, one stop shop for dental care with genuinely nice people.
