There have only been two dentists in my lifetime who stood out head and shoulders above all the rest. Dr Do is one of those two. If you dread going to the dentist, then this is the place for you. Negative experience: Very disappointed with this practice. As a new patient, I was surprised to learn that cleanings are not offered on the first visit. This is the first time I’ve seen such a policy in Dallas. On top of that, they rarely answer phone calls, which makes the experience even more frustrating. Definitely not the welcoming care I expected.

Fantastic experience: The best Dentist office! Everyone is courteous and explain everything in detail. I’m glad I found this office.

Negative experience: I had a root canal done last October through an existing crown at Red Oak. The tooth has bothered me ever since, but I was patient and gave it time as suggested. I ended up with a referral to an endodontist last month when I could no longer tolerate the pain. The endodontist was surprised they did the root canal in office since he said normally dentists send those off due to the more complicated procedure. X rays at Red Oak indicated everything was fine. X rays at the endodontist showed they didn't go deep enough on the root canal and they missed a root (they only did 3 when there were 4). Clearly evident on the x-rays. So this meant I had to pay for two root canals on the same tooth. Unacceptable. Out of pocket for the second one was over $1,000 but at least I know it was done right. I will never have a root canal done at a place other than an endodontist again. Lesson learned the hard way.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough positive things about this practice. Every time either myself or a member of my family has an appt at Red Oak Family Dentistry, the experience is always exceptional. Dr. Do always goes above and beyond for his patients, he willingly saw my teenage daughter after hours late on a Friday night to help us get her jaw back into place as she suffers from lockjaw. He is the only one she trusts to do it and he is ALWAYS willing to help. Dr. Silcox is so wonderful and personable every time I see him for an exam, his professionalism and bedside manner are top tier. The dental hygienists, dental assistants, and front desk staff are always so nice and smiling. The lobby is beautifully decorated and so comfy if you have to sit and wait, which usually isn’t the case. I have never had a bad experience here and have been coming for a few years now. I would 10/10 recommend this practice to anyone in the area looking for a dentist group that truly does feel like family!! Negative experience: Unfortunately unimpressed by how hard this dentistry tried to sell treatments. Dental assistants also try to advise you to pay for an expensive treatment when you specifically came to receive a dentist’s input; I left feeling that this place is a bit too desperate for patients’ money.

I recently had a dental emergency and they were able to see me the same day and address the issue with competence and care. Red Oak was our first dentist when we came to McKinney, but when my company changed our dental insurance plan a few years ago and Red Oak was no longer covered, we tried the DMO w/ my company plan. The DMO had a shifting panel of doctors for our 6 month check-ups, and when my wife had dental work done with the DMO, it was done incorrectly. We retruned to Red Oak to fix the issue caused by the DMO, and I learned during this challenge that Red Oak offers its own dental coverage plan which, pricewise and coverage, was very similar in cost to what I was paying through my benefits at work. Overall, Red Oak Dentistry is a great practice of caring professionals who provide excellent dental work in a modern office. I highly recommend Red Oak Dentistry if you are in McKinney, TX to care for you and your family's dental needs.

Fantastic experience: I had my first visit today with Red Oak Family Dentistry. I was incredibly pleased with the quality of services today. After a poor experience at a prior dentist in the McKinney area, I was incredibly glad to have walked in and received the treatment I did today at ROFD. The receptionists were incredibly pleasant; the techs and hygienists were highly effective and provided excellent care, and Dr. Mara was awesome, straight to the point and provided a perfectly sufficient level of care, willing to hear my desires and needs, and has quickly employed a perfectly reasonable plan of care moving forward with them. Very glad to be a new and now recurring patient at Red Oak.

Although I haven’t been to a dentist for about 6-7 years, Red Oak never belittled me or made me feel less than for my negligence. They were sweet and understanding, just appreciative my effort at this point. Every step, they were able to describe what was about to occur so I could be ready for the instruments. Fantastic experience: Dr Do presented an orthodontics plan for my son that made sense and saved the extraction of his healthy permanent teeth that other orthodontists were advising. I appreciate Dr Do's conservative approach that considers my son's long term dental needs and natural make versus focusing on aesthetics. He also understands the difference in dental plan needs between males and females. For these reasons I trust him with my son's orthodontic care. I also like the extended office hours this practice provides and the caring and friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Had my teeth cleaned this past Friday and it was a good experience as always. They knew that I needed 2 small fillings and I was afraid that would require another appointment. The hygenist talked to Dr. Mara and he had both of them done in just a few minutes. My wife and I have been coming here for over 2 years and we are completely satisfied with the staff and the level of service that we receive.

Positive experience: Have been a patient for several years, loved Dr. Do, and they have the best hygienest ever [Jordan]. Anyway, just broke a tooth in two [Monday lunch], called the office and was told, "sorry, I know this is an emergency, but we don't take walk-ins and we're booked up until late Thursday, and if you want to see Dr. Do, it'll be late next month". It might just be the desk staff, but it would seem like they could fit in a long time patient in the next day or two in a situation like this. Looking for a new dental office... One day later: I did receive a call from Dr. Do himself this morning apologizing that I was turned away and assuring me that if I had gotten hold of him he would have helped me out. I do believe that, but the problem is I had no way to get hold of him. He also gave me an after hours number. Up until yesterday, my review was 5 stars, went to 2 yesterday, back up to 3 today. [NOTE: I did find a dentist who worked me right in and I'm sporting a temporary crown today]

Fantastic experience: After my wisdom teeth decided to give me a not so friendly reminder that they were still chilling in my mouth and were about to start some trouble, I was referred by a co worker at my new job to give Red Oak a try for emergency dental work. I have to admit, going to the dentist makes me super anxious and trying to find a good one that will alleviate my fears is a daunting task. After reading the reviews and noticing that they had a "New Patient Emergency Care" special for ONE DOLLAR, that pretty much sold me right there! The online paperwork and booking process was straightforward,quick and easy to use. When I'm first walked,I was greeted by the nice receptionist at the front desk. The waiting/reception areas are and inviting with the warmth from the natural light coming through the many windows in the "front of the house",the comfortable furnishings, a complimentary refreshments station, a kid's area, and free WiFi. Heck, even the dental stations were made to put the patient at ease! You had a TV on the wall and on the ceiling(what?!?!), a neck pillow or a blanket if you wanted one, and depending on which side of the building your station was in, you might have a room with a view. Mind you, I was only here for a consultation, and the level of service has been great even before I had seen the dentist! After getting my X-rays done, I met Dr. Do, and while he was going over the results of my X-rays, he noticed the swelling on the right side of my jaw and asked me if it was okay to do a quick physical examination of my face. I gave him the okay, and Dr. Do immediately noticed that the infection was traveling down the side of my neck towards my throat. He was concerned enough about it that I recommended that I go to an ER or urgent care center to have them look at and give me a stronger antibiotic than what they would normally prescribe to their patients. Although he is unable to remove them due to the way that are oriented in my mouth, he did refer me to a oral surgeon's office a few blocks from their location that specializes in complicated wisdom teeth removal, but I did tell him that I would come back to get some other work done on my teeth. I think I may have found me a new permanent dental office. Thank you Red Oak!

My hygenist Andrea is wonderful. She is super knowledgeable, cleans my teeth exactly how I like them and does it all with a smile and super sweet personality! The staff are top notch they have the system down to a science from scheduling an appt. to checking in the day of your appt. It is run very well and the dentists know what they’re doing and don’t try to sell you work that you don’t need. That is a huge pet peeve of mine! They make your visit easy and comfortable! Fantastic experience: I have lived in the Dallas area for 27 years. Red Oak Dentistry is by far the best Dental Office I’ve ever been to. The staff is helpful and kind. Most of all Dr. Jace Silcox is amazing! He is by far the best Dentist I’ve ever been to in my life, and I’ve had lots of orthodontic and dentistry work done. He explains everything before he starts, he is very gentle and caring. All the other dentist and orthodontist that I’ve been to in the past always make my jaws really sore because my mouth doesn’t open very wide. I never once felt pain or soreness after the procedure. I was amazed at how well it went and how well I felt that afternoon and the next day. A+++++

It took me to try 3 different dentist before finding Dr. Do.I have a mouth full of problems from a previous accident years ago and Dr. Do has been able to provide me with proper care and a honest opinion on what to do. I have had to go see a Periodontist (Dr.Chang) for a front tooth implant and I also had to go to a Endodontic specialist for root canals. The best part is I still have all my teeth, 4 Crowns later and only 1 implant. I have terrible teeth and have had many many years of extensive dental work in my history. I truly believe this is the best dental care i have ever received.

Fantastic experience: Really appreciate the staff at Red Oak, they not only took what we were saying seriously, but also helped emotionally through the process. They took my partners hand during the procedure because she has anxiety and was freaking out and they held it during so she wasn’t alone.The doctor was amazing too and explained everything to us so we knew every step as they were doing it. Just over all an amazing staff and dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I have not been to a dentist in a long time due to severe anxiety from a dentist dropping a new crown down my throat. Everyone at Red Oak was very nice. Kaydence was my dental assistant. She reassured me and helped me to relax. She was very gentle taking all of my X-rays. Dr. Do has a great bedside manner. I was pleasantly surprised that I had no cavities! I have a missing tooth, and I will get a bridge done by Dr. Do because Red Oak has earned my trust.

Fantastic experience: I went in to see how my wisdom teeth were coming in and the staff was so kind. I enjoyed every experience in the dentist off. It was a very simple form you have to fill out and they make it very easy and clear for everything. the reviews were very nice and helpful.

Fantastic experience: DFW friends, if you’re looking for a great dentist COME HERE. I cannot begin to tell you how spectacular the customer service is here and their level of professionalism is. From the front desk, to the hygienist, to the dentist. AMAZING. I came in today with some concerns after my procedure and they took the time out of their day to walk me through everything they did step by step, relieved all concerns. I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate them doing this. The work they do is phenomenal and my teeth are in greater shape than ever. Plus the technology here is top notch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fantastic experience: My hygenist Andrea did an awesome job with x-raying and cleaning my teeth. She also provided a detailed explanation of what my dental needs are. Dr. Silcox came in and went over my treatment plan. We also spoke about my issues with sleep apnea. He explained that he also has sleep apnea and having the new device that wears when he sleeps has been life changing. I am doing the sleep study this week. When checking out, I spoke with the administrative staff (Peace) who went over in detail my upcoming treatment plan and did a fantastic job, explaining my out-of-pocket expenses. If you’re looking for a place where people care and make you feel at home, then look no further, Red Oak Dental is where you want to be.

Fantastic experience: One of the best dental practice experience that I had in a long time, front desk was welcoming and no time was wasted in waiting. My hygienist was thorough and did a great job with my teeth. Dr. Do was excellent and gave me right advice. Overall my experience was pretty good and will recommend the facility to friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I discovered Red Oaks based on reviews, and my visit was excellent! Previous dental experiences left me feeling like I had numerous issues and required multiple procedures. However, having insight into my dental health through my dad's friend who is a dentist, I appreciated Red Oaks' genuine advice. Their front desk staff was exceptionally courteous and polite. Additionally, the dental assistant did an outstanding job and respected my time.

Fantastic experience: The staff are super friendly and very informative on everything I may have a question on. Very clean and tidy there. The exams are never too over drawn out and long. The staff really make sure you're as comfortable as possible which is a huge plus for sure!
