They explained everything they were doing before starting and gave me a detailed explanation of my care plan to resolve my symptoms. Negative experience: I would not recommend Riverview Smiles to anyone. We went in on 9/11 for my daughter’s new patient exam, x-rays, and molding for her retainers. Almost all of that was covered by insurance, leaving a patient responsibility of $108. Instead, the office charged me $227. When I questioned the charge, they refused to acknowledge the error and insisted their numbers were correct. I had to get my insurance company on a three-way call just to force them to re-check their billing. Only then did they finally admit they had overcharged me, and I eventually received a $119 refund back to my credit card. This should never have happened. The lack of accountability, unwillingness to listen, and refusal to work with patients shows they’re more interested in squeezing extra money than providing honest service. Their handling of the situation cost them not just our trust but also every patient in our family. If you value transparency, accurate billing, and decent customer service, steer clear of Riverview Smiles.

Negative experience: I am male. I had a crown installed. Over the weekend the tooth started to hurt. My Monday it was excruciating. Monday I called and no appointments were available until Tuesday at 11am. I told the receptionist I would try and find another dentist to see me, but if I could not, I would be there at 11am tuesday. I called around 4 hours later to confirm my because I was forgetting the time and date. The receptionist said they gave the appointment away and the dentist could not see me for a week.I said that it was not right and I would not go there anymore. Very very gleefully she said "OK" and hung up. Checking reviews, they only have reviews from women... hmmm.

Negative experience: This was the worst experience at a dentist. I brought someone in with severe pain, and instead of treating the pain, the staff only focused on insurance and future procedures. There was no empathy for the patient’s suffering in that moment. It felt like their priority was business and money, not people’s health.

Negative experience: This dental clinic is the worst! These people overcharge without providing any service! Went in for something as basic as putting a bridge back in place and after they refused to perform the service, they had the nerves to charge us $84! I mean in what world do you ask to be paid for a service that you never performed! I highly recommend you run away for this dental clinic! Another dental clinic immediately put it in place! This is the worst dental clinic anyone can go to!

Negative experience: Sadly, I had a horrible experience here this morning. I’ve had cleanings my entire life, in different states, and I’ve had braces twice + Invisalign. Today was the most painful cleaning I’ve experienced. The front desk receptionist acted like she barely wanted to talk to me, but I let it go. When I got to the back, the hygienist seemed nice but it was clear that she was just trying to push me through my appointment and was rushing through everything. She was rough while taking my oral pictures and doing the exam. I had some sensitivity on the left side of my mouth and after I told her she was still rough. I was actually unable to finish my cleaning because she was roughly digging into my gums. When I said I didn’t want to continue, she asked if I wanted her to just polish my teeth. I said yes, and she then proceeded to rush through that as well. The entire appointment made me feel like I was just another body in their chair and not a patient.

Fantastic experience: I love the care I receive from my Dentist Dr. Feldman and my Hygenist. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I’ve recommended all my family and friends who also go here.

Negative experience: Definitely use this dentist if you want them to send bills that you don’t actually owe to debt collectors. Every time we’ve brought up issues with our bill they’ve said “oh I’m not the person that handles that, that person is out of the office” they were supposed to call the insurance back but instead I guess sent our bill to a collector. Office staff clearly can’t communicate with each other let alone patients.

Fantastic experience: Words cannot express the gratitude that both my daughter and I both felt when dealing with Dr. King and all of her staff. Not only was everyone extremely professional, friendly, and accommodating, but Dr. King herself went above and beyond for my babygirl! Even though my daughter is practically an adult, she’ll always be my baby in my eyes so I’m sure most parents understand and can sympathize when I say, I felt ashamed, embarrassed, and defeated due to the neglect of my daughters teeth on my end due to finances and how much my dental coverage would actually cover. I was overwhelmed with emotions and tears when every dental office told me how much it would be to fix all of her teeth. To me, Dr. King is an Angel disguised in a white lab coat lol because she made the impossible, possible and me and my daughter will never forget that! Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at Riverview Smiles Dental and want to share my concerns. I noted that I have dental anxiety, not because of fear of the procedure itself, but due to concerns about the quality of work and potential changes to my bite. Despite this, I was assigned to Dr. King, who had only been out of dental school for two years. I take responsibility for not requesting someone more experienced, but I would have expected the office to consider my concerns when assigning a provider. I was told I needed multiple fillings replaced, even though my previous dentist had never mentioned any issues. I trusted their recommendation, but looking back, I now question whether the work was necessary. The filling Dr. King placed has not held up well, it looked rough from the start, and within a year, it already appears to be deteriorating. By contrast, my previous fillings from another dentist lasted years without issue. Additionally, Dr. King did not properly polish or smooth the work, leaving rough edges that I had to ask to be fixed. Even after returning, the issue was not fully resolved, and I ultimately had to seek out another provider to correct it. This second dentist confirmed my suspicions, he did not believe the treatments I received were necessary, and he mentioned that some practices focus more on sales than patient care. Beyond the quality of work, I also felt pressured to purchase additional products and services. The office strongly pushed mouth rinses, expensive toothbrushes, sensitivity treatments, and even Invisalign, many of which I did not need. It felt more like a sales pitch than a medical consultation. The most frustrating issue was how my bite was affected. Dr. King shaved down my tooth significantly before placing the filling, which changed how my teeth fit together. Some filling material also leaked out and irritated my gum, causing discomfort for weeks. Based on my experience, I personally believe this practice may be over-treating patients and prioritizing sales over proper dental care. If you are considering going here, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any treatment.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed! I have been going to this dentist for years as well as my son. I go 2x a year, more if needed. My last visit 6 months ago, ( I seen a new hygienist, which I’ve seen multiple in the last few years there.)I never have any issues with my teeth, on my last visit the hygienist explained that my teeth were receding. She went on to say it was bad and it could result in needing surgery. I was shocked to hear this and explained to her how I’ve been coming here for years and not one time has anyone mentioned this to me. She looked at my charts and agreed. She suggested I change my tooth brush, and we would see how that went. Today I showed up for my appt, which they said I did not confirm and would have to come back tomorrow. I then showed the text where I confirmed. They then said it would be a whole bc they had a hygienist call out. I would have came back the next day, but I drove from Orlando where I’m at a convention for the week. When I made my appt I explained that I was starting a new insurance in Jan, but I would self pay for my check up and cleaning. So today after all the hassle of keeping my appt, they refuse to see me bc I said I would come back in Jan to do my ex rays, with my insurance and pay out of pocket today for my cleaning and exam. So not only did I drive 2 hours one way and have to drive back for nothing, I didn’t even get a check up that according to the hygienist I do importantly needed to follow up on for my gums! I’m not sure what happened to the quality and care for the patients here, but it is definitely not the same! I use to love coming here, very sad and disappointed!!!

Negative experience: My feeling is that Dr. Shelby King was only interested in selling services. I was only a customer, one of many that day. I do not feel she was interest in my thoughts on the services that I may have needed. I have been seeing a dentist on a regular basis for over ten years and he never mentioned a need for three of four crowns. He did tell me there was some wear on my teeth but no occlusal guard was really needed. My past dentist had his office remodeled a few years back and he had the state-of-the-art office including a cnc machine to make crowns onsite. This Is a dentist that kept up his knowledge base. My past dentist sold his practice to enter part time retirement and is now teaching at a dental school so needless to say I have great confidence in his knowledge and abilities. With all of that said I went to Bayview Dental Associates in Sun City for an exam and cleaning, there they did an exam and a cleaning they did have a concern over one filling but when the dentist examined it he said it was fine. My father goes to this Riverview Smiles Dental office and he was happy with the services he has been given in the past, that is why when I moved to Florida, I decided to try Riverview Smiles Dental. My father uses a different dentist in your office and I hope he continues to be happy with his dentist. My treatment plan for three crowns, occlusal guard and other minor services with Insurance would of cost me out of pocket $4989.40 and would have taken eight visits. Not only do I wish to keep as much of my natural teeth enamel, my money also. Also, before I left dr. King mentioned that I might need of fourth crow done on further examination of the tooth. When in doubt folks get a second opinion. Also click on my profile and you can see that most of my reviews for business are typically positive. I did give myself 11 days to reflect on my experience so this is not an angry post. My purpose of this post is to inform others. I would try this office if it is an convenient location for you, but be aware of the treatment plan that the individual dentist recommends to you. This office has many individual dentists to chose from. Individual experiences will very. Overall this office has a very good review score of 4.8 at this time. Well this is a one year update to my above review. I am now a patient with Kenneth Liszewski DDS at Bayview Dental Associates in Sun City Center and I am very happy with their work. During the time there I have had one 20 year old filling fall out and so I had that fixed and then just my regular cleaning and annual exams, no extra work done or needed. I guess every dentist has thier own judgment, philosophy and experiences within the dental industry.

Positive experience: Wait times are now extremely long. Appointment scheduled for 11am and unable to get back until about 30 mins later. Hygienist seem very agitated everytime I come. Just not a good fit. Staff never greet you upon arrival, just look at you waiting for you to respond...I been here since riverview smiles open and it's never been this way before.

Fantastic experience: I had a old cap come out. I called for an emergency appointment and was taken right away. I’m very happy not to have a chewing tooth missing for many days!

Fantastic experience: The Doctor is great. Explained her recommendations in an easy to follow way. The lady who does the insurance portion, I'm sorry, I didn't get her name, was very detailed on her explanation of our insurance coverage and other available options. The rest of the staff was very professional as well as friendly. I'll continue to visit this dental clinic to meet all of my dental related needs. If their work is as good the provider as well as the staff, my wife may decide to join this facility.

Been back to this clinic multiple times since first review. Still stand by the 5 star rating and have had nothing but exceptional service to date!

Negative experience: I’m troubled by the fact that I was new to the area.. I have moved from another state and what I have found at this place is they give you no warning for expenses you will endure getting service from them. They wait till you are in the chair seated at the appointment to announce you have to pay up front.. telling you your insurance doesn’t cover it.. in Ohio they always check my insurance and give me a cost before scheduling the appointment.. I was always updated you before a doctors visit they tell me what I may owe and if you owe anything upfront before setting g the appointment.. I had my first appointment with them and shocked me with an over a grand bill for a porcelain tooth. I was getting a fill at a different location but they suggested a crown at this one. Cost much more.. I went ahead with it do to inconvenience and them convincing me it was better the. A fill.. after a credit pull and over 700 credit bill.. They contacted me for a scheduled cleaning.. only to find out.. my insurance wouldn’t cover it because I used up all my insurance money on the crown. and they wanted me to pay out of pocket. Revealing me when I was already sitting on the chair for the appointment. I had take an entire day off for this appointment only to not complete it.. I did not have the funds to provide or was prepared for a bill.. they offered a discount and I was disgusted. I asked them why didn’t you give me advance notice before setting my appointment up. They said we do not know. I left so upset I do not want to return.. I just don’t.. it has always been a money crisis to me.. I do not care to return to this facility at this time. I’m so sorry.

Negative experience: What experience did everyone have that warrants five stars? Because the moment I stepped in, I was treated like a customer purchasing furniture. My assistant was “nice”, but extremely impersonal. I had just finished ortho treatment a year prior, and they immediately went to a sales pitch on their Invisalign ortho treatment. I got the sales pitch again when the dentist came into do his exam. I needed extra work done, and they stated there would be a difference in what my insurance would cover. I understood paid the difference at the time of service. Come to find out, they administered services that weren’t covered and declined to advise me prior. I go to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned and maintained, not to be solicited to buy some useless treatment so the dentist can get Diamond status from Invisalign and pocket a nice profit. Unprofessional, in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Feldman made me a partial 4 months ago and it has a hairline crack in it and the one clip broke off. I went to his office and he took care of me immediately. He didn’t give me a runaround or try to get more money. Dr. Feldman and his staff are awesome and caring.

Fantastic experience: I came to Riverview Smiles Monday this week for the first time for my initial exam. Since then I’ve had temporary crowns put in from Dr Feldman, in 2 weeks I’ll have the permanent ones put in, plus other work done. I have to say so far I really like this dentist office. I love my dental hygienist (sorry, I forgot her name) and Dr Feldman is great as well. But today I had to go back in because one of the two temporary crowns they put in Wednesday came out and Yasser, who works with the other dentist in the clinic, was amazing. I have very sensitive teeth and he made sure putting the crown back on caused me as little discomfort as possible. He explained every step what he was doing and he was very professional. Negative experience: Highly upset!!! This place never verified my insurance! They told me that they accepted my insurance. That was a lie! My insurance denied all of my dental work. I now have to file grievances and appeals because they didn't verify insurance. I won't be back!

Negative experience: overall terrible experience. just one head ache after another dealing with this dental office. if you see this review be warned, they will take you in as a quick cash grab. you’re dental needs are their lowest priority, and they will send your statements to debt collectors because they cant manage their books without involving the patient. plus, the crown operation was terrible, cleaning appointments were late (your time is not valued) but somehow they manage to squeeze every penny out of you even if you pay insurance.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had such an amazing experience at this dental practice. I’ve had a deep cleaning, and now a regular cleaning by April the hygienist and I can honestly say, I am 57, she is the best hygienist I’ve ever had. The whole office is so kind, it’s truly an enjoyment to visit here.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time visiting Riverview Smiles Dental. I was very impressed and satisfied with the quality service. Everyone there was very pleasant and courteous from the Receptionist to billing. Special kudos to the X-ray technician Carrie, the Hygenist Casey, the billing rep Candy and of course Dr. Paul Spradlin who was very pleasant and informative. Negative experience: I have been coming to this practice for over four years and usually have had satisfactory experiences. However, my original hygienist, who provided very thorough cleanings, no longer works there. For some reason, my new hygienist makes me feel uneasy. While I have done my best to maintain oral hygiene as instructed, feedback from the hygienist feels condescending rather than supportive. At my visit last month, I was told I needed a deep cleaning, which I have never needed previously. I agreed to have the work done, since I wanted to maintain any proper care needed. 2 quadrants were done at one appt. And the remaining 2 quadrants were done the following week at a second appt. My insurance denied one of the quadrants because the periodontal charting and the radiographs showed I actually didn’t need the procedure. Additionally, there is now a small chip/rough spot on the back of one of my front teeth, that was not there prior to the visit. Perhaps there is some subjectivity to my experience, but my comfort level has eroded enough that I’ve decided to move on to a new practice.

Negative experience: I went to the dentist to get my scaling and cleaning done. I was told the amount I needed to pay and that the rest will be paid by the insurance. I later received a bill for unpaid amounts, even though I’ve already paid for everything I was responsible for day of. I’ve reached out to Riverview Dental and they told me it’s for the amounts that insurance didn’t cover and I have to cover it. We’ve agreed to investigate this with my insurance first. Then about a month later, without any further calls in between, I received a bill from the debt collection agency. I was confused and furious as I’ve never once had to deal with a debt collection agency. I called my insurance agency to find out what’s going on only for them to tell me that per the American Dentistry Association guidelines, only 8 gum cleaning should be done at a time, and only 2 teeth per quadrant. They did 4 teeth per quadrant and well over 8 gum cleaning in 1 sitting. Reaching out to them have been notoriously hard, both insurance and myself reached out to them 5 times with no answers, both front desk and billing dept. I ended up needing take time off work to go to their office to resolve this matter. And of course they had to waive the charges. Would not recommend this headache that don’t follow ADA guidelines.

Fantastic experience: I can not express enough how grateful I am to find a dental hygienist that is caring, kind, and truly personable. Casey is exceptional at her job, knowledgeable, and always is so welcoming. My family and I are a military family which leads us to have to start over with finding medical care with every tour which can sometimes be difficult. I can honestly say Riverview Smiles Dental makes me feel like not just a client case number, but like family. That feeling is rare and believe me it's not like that everywhere. Very informative and provides direction on what to do in between cleanings and visits to help improve my overall dental health. Her clear explanation of my treatment is appreciated.
