Canyon Trails Family Dental

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been going to Canyon Trails Family Dental for 10 years or so. The staff is professional, respectful, GENTLE, knowledgeable, and yet personable. They actual make going to the dentist a "comfortable" experience. Thank you Canyon Trails for all you do and continuing to put yourselves on the front line for our mouths! Posted this a while back but really, my thoughts and feelings haven't changed. I actually look forward to all of my appointments. The dental staff take the time to explain oral health, proper hygiene, and all procedural details. The ladies at the front always greet you with a smile (or make you laugh) even during busy times. They're knowledgeable about billing details and are patient to answer questions. What more can I ask for from a dental office?

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience from the front desk, dental hygienist and The Dentist who I believe was Dr.Patel. My appointment was accepted quickly and my cleaning took no more than 35 minutes from arrival to departure. I needed some work done and they immediately got me scheduled for next morning. That appointment still took no longer than an hour. Excellent experience here! I will be returning

UPDATE 2023: It's now been over FIVE years that we've been with this Detal office, and we still feel the same. All the employees are still consistently friendly, welcoming and capable. They do a great job at fair prices. Go and see them!! UPDATE 2024: It's six years later now! Still getting the same excellent service from the folks in this office. Give them a try! UPDATE 2025: Here we are again, another year gone by, and we continue s to use Canyon Trails Family Dental. They keep doing a great job consistently. Give them an opportunity to care for your smile! UPDATE AUGUST 2025: Both, my husband and I, keep going to Canyon Trail Family Dental. Another 6 months gone by, and continued awesome service has been received. Great people focused on excellent customer sevice.

Fantastic experience: I came here seeking a second opinion from a different dentist and I’m glad I did. The staff is great and really explained everything to me and my out of pocket cost isn’t a ridiculous number, mind you I have insurance. If you’re looking for quality care this is the place.

Negative experience: Got a temp to clean my teeth today. I was poked by something on the inside of my cheek that left my mouth sore and sensitive for 2 days. Was not informed about a $50 deductible until I was leaving.

NOTHING has changed 4 years later!!! The dental office is clean, you feel Covid safe and very pleasant staff. My dental hygienist was very gentle and very diligent in her work well as Dr. Patel — who is new to the practice. She did a follow up exam, was friendly, positive and felt reassured of my dental care.

Negative experience: I called to schedule a new patient appointment today and the girl who answered seemed so bothered by me and was being unhelpful so I finally told her forget it I will find another dentist office. That seemed to make her happy. She quickly said Okay Bye and hung up!!! It's too bad because I work at the Doctor office in the same plaza, would have been very convenient.

Negative experience: Be cautious with quotes. They quoted me $35 my portion for a crown after my insurance paid their portion. I understand that it is estimated, however to get hit with a $635 bill is a far stretch from the $35 they quoted me. They are professionals and should have done a better job of researching my cost. I had no pain nor did i need the work, they just stated they can replace my current crown with a more update material. Keep in mind I only agreed becaue they said it was $35 out of pocket. When i got the bill they said it was a mistake on their part, they thought the insurance would pick up more of the balance. I advised i will pay more but not the $635 they are asking for, the said they will knock the bill down to $400, obviously, they are acknowledging it was their fault, but still wanting me to pay the majority of the bill. I agreed t pay $300 of the bill but the front lady said they are not going any lower than the $400. I trusted that they knew what they were doing when it came to billing, feels more like a bait and switch. The front office lady was extremely rude, i asked to have the Dentist reach out to me, and I have yet received a call. Not only do I go there by my 3 kids also go there so i felt Paying $300 was not really fair for my part since i was quoted $35 but was willing to pay it. The fact that they are losing mine and my 3 kids business doesn't seem like a good business move considering we all go there every year, Xrays, cleanings and any other work we would get done. As for myself and my kids we will be in search of a dentist office in the Goodyear area. Poor choice of front office staff to misquote and let a family of 4 walk away. The front office lady was rude and we got into a shouting match over the bill. Good way to handle customer service.

Negative experience: I called to schedule an appointment before reading reviews of the office. Hillary answered and was extremely rude on the phone didn’t ask what I was coming in for until after scheduling my appointment hence I needed something urgent. Unprofessional answering the phone and when asked about my insurance she proceed to say the information I gave her was incorrect and corrected me. Called a different dental office, I will be seen a lot sooner due to my dental care. Lack of communication and concerns about the patient on Hillary’s part.

Fantastic experience: Came in today for a new patient appointment, i was seen quickly did x rays, exam and then ended up needing a couple fillings. Dr was able to take care of me right then and there. *happy tears* happy i was able to do that same day. Staff was kind and explained everything since I was a self pay. Price was reasonable. New pt was $60~ but also able to use care credit there. Happy to find a new dental office close to me. Yay.

Fantastic experience: Dr Wheeler and staff are the absolute best every time. Exceptional, evidence based dentistry. He will put you at ease and have you giving him heart shaped hands while you are in the chair .

Negative experience: Kelly is a wonderful dentist but the other black male new hire dentist has no idea what he’s doing. He constantly caused pain, scraped my gums several times while trying to pick at my teeth, and spilled water all over my face and shirt. If you find that he will be seeing you, just walk out. the receptionists are really nice though :)

Fantastic experience: My mom came for a visit from Canada and her denture needed some repair. Brought my mom to Canyon Trails dental clinic - staff was very helpful and Dr Wheeler was extremely nice!!! I highly recommend this clinic and will be my go to clinic for all my future dental needs! Negative experience: The office staff is super rude a d overcharge you for services and then say u have a credit to now spend w then. In my case $400 overcharged me. So now I owe them. Coz I best them at their game. Good collecting mu $93. Ur never gona get it. Ever.

Fantastic experience: Best dental experience I've had! They were able to get me in for next day service. They focused only on the issue I came in to have seen. They didn't try to push me into additional treatments. I was able to go back to work thanks to early morning appts I didn't have to use "vacation" to see a dentist! Very happy camper!!
