Negative experience: GET A SECOND OPINION. I was told I had gingivitis, several cavities that need filled and a crown that would cost close to $1000. During this time I had state insurance, they had me come in every 3 months for a “deep clean” just to run my insurance up. I felt very pushed in a direction to permanently alter my teeth, a procedure I’ve now learned I don’t need. After a year with my new dentist, not only do I not have gingivitis, but the cavities that “need to be filled” are too small to do so and the tooth where I “needed a crown” is perfectly fine. If it is your only option, just let them do a basic teeth clean, nothing more. If you have other options, please use them.

Fantastic experience: Love this dental practice! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone with sensory or anxiety issues. The accommodations and considerations given for my severe anxiety have been exemplar. All of the staff: reception, hygienists/assistants, and dentist have gone above and beyond to help me feel comfortable even with more extensive dental work.

Fantastic experience: The personal hygienist hope is always nice friendly and professional short wait times and a nice kiosk system that you can use without even talking to any of front desk staff to be seen

Negative experience: Only good thing I can say is at the front office receptionist staff was helpful… I was scheduled and booked for a cleaning and when I came in, I was told I could not have a cleaning that the call center was wrong on scheduling that and I only had a 30 minute appointment time yet I was there for an hour and 15 minutes.. Secondly, I have had state insurance and private insurance throughout my life and have never been told I need to come in for two separate cleanings I agree with other reviews that this practice is just scheduling additional appointments to run up the bill because they know the state will pay. I’ll be going back to my original dentist. I should’ve listened to the reviews and went elsewhere instead of wasting time.

Fantastic experience: They do great work and are respectful and explain the process of your care

Negative experience: Attention I would not recommend this dentist to my worst enemy I had three teeth pulled this morning and dr.g left a piece in there after I told dr.G there was pieces before and after he removed the said tooth his reply was yep it's all gone I make it home the numbing wears off and I can feel the tooth is still in there and when I tried calling back I was put on hold for 15 minutes to be told that the doctor was on lunch and then when I ask about my tooth and why I was put on hold when they knew the doctor was on lunch they proceeded to hang up then the doctor called me back and says that things aren't going to work out between him and I and then says he'll have to refer me to another doctor after arguing with me stating that he got the whole tooth out when I can very clearly feel a tooth in my mouth again wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy... update i was right he missed a 3rd of my tooth i had to go back and have a different dr Dr.M do the job that dr.G was paid to do the first time ... for pulling 1000s of teeth like he mentioned he sure dont listen to customers not to mention he told me i wasnt in pain it was just pressure i was feeling how does anyone know what another person is feeling ...ps Dr.M was awesome she the one to see if have to go there had no issues and she listed to every word i had to say

Negative experience: You call and try to ask questions for Charges that appear after you pay in full...and no one seems to take care of it. Yet they send out the emails and texts wanting payment constantly. That they can do. Terrible customer service. Very unprofessional. If there was less than one star to check I would.

Negative experience: ATTENTION: Do your research and read very closely on the reviews regarding actual dental work vs. the staff being kind and polite. They do have a very nice and polite staff, that part is accurate, but the work itself was disappointing and concerning. I came in for a filling, gave it a couple weeks and was feeling a lot of pain, made a follow up to see what was wrong. The filling was too high, this is common, so okay let’s fix it, no problem. After a week of that appointment I was in the absolute worse tooth pain I have ever experienced and my surrounding teeth started to ache as well. This is where it gets concerning, when I called back to schedule another post op appointment due to the pain, Dr. Grzywacz told the woman who I talked to on the phone to refer me to an endodontist and wrote me a referral. Mind you, before I had this appointment I had no other issues with any teeth, I didn’t accept the referral. I called them back the next day and scheduled a second post op appointment, sure enough when Dr. Grzywacz walks in he says, “yep it does look like it’s still too high”…the dude tried to refer me to a specialist the day before, so had I listened to him, it would have been a waste of time and money, and possibly more complications. After he adjusted the tooth, my entire bite ended up being off and they told me there’s no way adjusting the right side would affect the left side. It is clear common sense and factual that it can and as dentists they weren’t even sure of that..I had three other dentists outside of that office tell me that it can affect the entire bite. Then Dr. Dion comes in, examines my mouth, tells me she can’t fix my bite because I need braces..I came in for a filling, I don’t need or want braces, not to sound prideful but I get compliments on my smile and my teeth aren’t messed up, so I’ll pass on the braces..but again trying to refer somewhere else and not solve a problem they create. When I tried to advocate for myself and voice that I never had any of these issues prior to coming there, she just kept insisting there was nothing they could do. I regret ever spending my money here. Dr Grzywacz is not even on the website for doctors at this office or any of it’s locations. Again, the ladies at the front and the DA’s were all very nice, but hospitality doesn’t fix teeth, dentists do, and their work is concerning. I’m sure some marketing agency this office hired or maybe even an actual employee will try to apologize for the inconvenience but I don’t need an apology, maybe the dental board needs to look into this office, I just wish I could rewind the clock and stay away from this place, this was the worst dental experience I have ever had.

Negative experience: They don't have a office receptionist. Don't expect someone to answer the phone. You have to go inside to make an appointment.

Fantastic experience: Without talking it up at all, literally the best dentist I've taken my family to. Hands down.

Negative experience: I have called several times regarding a bill I received for a treatment for my son that they told me was covered by insurance. Nobody has called me back. I have left several messages. I keep receiving emails regarding the bill but will not pay until they call to discuss their error. It isn’t the amount of the bill but the principle. You cannot tell people something is covered by insurance and then not answer when they receive a bill a month later. Of course I’m going to have questions and want to speak with someone directly. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I will not be returning. Maybe this will gain enough attention for management to respond and get down to the bottom of it.

Fantastic experience: I somewhat recently changed my dentist after going to the same practice for many years, they hired a new dentist new staff and I had the absolute worst experience. It was unprofessional, I was waiting for over half an hour to be seen after check-in, had to retake my x-rays multiple times which left my mouth feeling sore, and after getting a filling, my teeth were extremely sensitive for MONTHS. I started going to the Dental Care of Michigan in Richmond, and I cannot recommend this practice enough. The staff is inviting and friendly, I never wait over 10 minutes to be seen, and procedures are painless. I had another filling at this practice and it was night and day compared to my previous experience at my old dentist's office. I had absolutely no sensitivity after my numbness went away, and the lady doing my procedure talked me through the entire process and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. You can tell the staff here care about their patients. Super professional!

Negative experience: Edit: after reading so many other reviews I guess this is the norm! Reviews go back months about them not answering. They even provided a 1800 number and it still isn’t answered. Concerning….. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES OR TAKE APPOINTMENTS. They bombarded me with emails and texts to come visit so I called to make an appointment and nobody has answered or called me back for weeks. How do they not have a receptionist? I’m lost. Never had this issue here. Sad I really enjoyed this office.

Fantastic experience: Great experience for my wife’s first dental visit in too long!!! Our adult son & his family have been patients here for over a year & highly recommended them to us. We were not disappointed.

Positive experience: Great staff yes. But when you can't call up there to cancel an appointment seems pointless. Tried for a whole day to get a hold of someone only for it to continually ring with no way of leaving a message. Now I'm forced to go to an appointment I don't no longer need. So this will be so much fun for me.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy with my entire experience. I was very nervous today only because over the past few years I have not kept up with my oral health, due to choosing to take care of my son's before mine. So I broke down during the dental exam listening to the dentist tell the assistant all of the things to write down wrong with my teeth. I was a dental assistant for over 10 years long ago. So with that knowledge I knew exactly what was being said. I was absolutely devastated. Although I was so upset the dentist, assistant, and hygienist were all so kind and insured me not to be upset and that they would help me get my beautiful smile back. They were all so kind and made me feel so much better. Even the front desk girls were so kind and caring. I am 47 years old a have always gone to the dentist but I will 100% say without a doubt that this office and entire staff are by far the most kind and caring office I have ever been to. Thank you to the ENTIRE OFFICE for your kindness today.

Negative experience: I have two loose crowns I was told there was nothing they can do to fix them. I saw a different dentist and they said they can be recemented. The wait is terrible I had fillings done on the left side of my mouth. They missed 3 of them which I got done at a different dentist. I will not be returning nor recommend this place. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: They are amazing! I was nervous about getting a fill in and Dr M was super sweet she gave me a stress ball and she walked me through every step! I had another Dr before I'm so sorry but I forget her name but she was also fantastic also walked me through every step and very informative as well which is what I also enjoyed we joked about some things she's funny and then when I scheduled my next appointment the woman making my appointment was just as great the whole staff are so kind! I drive 30mins to get my teeth cleaned and to be honest Im not going anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: I've had 5 different dentists in 40 years across 2 states. Dr.Maduro is by far the most competent. I could tell you horror stories about a dentist just down the street from Richmond Dental - like being charged for crowns on the wrong teeth, over unfilled cavities that barely last a year & worse. None of that here. Clean, pain free competent work. Can't say enough nor thank her enough! I've also had a cleaning, excellent pain free service without the nonsense. Others, as mentioned above, have used needle scallers, blowing out the enamel just to get extra work at patient expense.

Negative experience: The employee are always courteous and polite. However, I do everything these practices advise (Refresh Dental Warren/Dental Care of Richmond) and everything procedure that is beyond a cleaning has complications. I paid out of pocket to have a crown replaced at their advisement. The temporary came out twice in a week, the permanent came out twice as well. So after 5 appointments they are remaking the crown, but how much time have I missed from work and being with my kids for this one tooth?! A different crown they made didn't fit and had to be completely redone. They forgot to write the color down, I had to go back in. The 2 implants they broke were replaced at my expense with 2 completely useless appointments where they realized an additional tool was needed to complete the process. I was promised mouth guards as compensation, yet no one has made them. Last month someone told me they would ask about it for me... obviously even though I've been in the office 6 times since then I've heard nothing. If you dont need anything other than a basic cleaning this place works. Perhaps beyond their control at the office, but as other people mentioned- I get bills for things I've paid in full. I've given these two offices thousands of dollars for poor quality. But it's hard to switch doctor's once you've got work started. Oh and the 2nd temporary that was made 2 days ago just came out. I have concerns with how this tooth is being handled. I vocally expressed my concern when the office had me sign the treatment plan, but was assured everything would be fine. Maybe you should not have tried to replace this crown.

Fantastic experience: Dani was such a joy to have taking my X-rays bright and early in the morning! Her energy and spirit was like a ray of sunshine! Keep her around! Hope has been seeing my son and myself for ever now it seems like! She always goes the extra mile for us! She explains in detail and always makes us as comfortable as possible! She makes coming back here feel like I’m just coming to see an old friend! She handles my son with care, and we wouldn’t want anyone else!! Thank you to the staff for all you do!

Fantastic experience: Was very nervous and a bit scared at first. But the staff set me at ease. Even sang country music with the radio to me as she extracted a dozen bad teeth and gave me a new beautiful smile.

Fantastic experience: THIS OFFICE HAS CURED MY DENTAL ANXIETIES AND FEARS. This office is hands down the best. Yesterday I went in for my first appointment. Met Dr. Maduro, her assistant and the hygienist(Holly I believe). They instantly made me feel comfortable and at ease. I felt no judgment nor any discomfort. Dr. Maduro came up with a dental plan that I am comfortable with. Today when I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by the receptionist who checked to see if I was feeling any less nervous. It was nice that she remembered and cared enough to check on me. Went in for my deep cleaning today on my teeth and gums and I did not feel a thing. I am so grateful for everyone at this office already. They are all really great!

Positive experience: The contractor/technician was eager to explain procedure and process for the manufacturing of my upper and lower dentures beforehand. On subsequent visits his chair side demeanor was polite yet professional. Upon completion of the process and fit, he encouraged me to return if any issues arose. Home run for Richmond Dental Care.

They went over the treatment plan, made suggestions, and let me know what was not covered by insurance so I could decide to either proceed or not with no pressure. I would definitely recommend! Negative experience: Took my kids here for routine care started in June with exam only. Got a text and email for outstanding balance. Can’t log in online to view anything and never got a paper bill so I called the office. Told the insurance process incorrectly and to disregard and they would rebill. Few months pass and get another text and email again with outstanding balance still can’t log in online and call the office. The associate was not sure why insurance did not cover as normal spoke to manager and agreed I did not owe. Took kids back in November for cleanings, again mentioned I got a text and email for balance after told it was waived. At visit given documentation showing 0.00 balance due. Now December and still getting texts, emails, and now paper bill for balance from June. When I try to call the office (several times over a week) even leaving messages can’t get through to anyone.

Negative experience: Had a great experience in office. Made a health plan going forward. I called to schedule our next appointment as we planned with the dr.... They said we need to come in for ANOTHER consultation and they would call me back within a couple days. Still zero call backs. Very disappointed we had a plan and it was changed.

Fantastic experience: The front desk was welcoming and extremely helpful upon my arrival. Dr. Dion listened to my concerns and feelings and is very caring. The lady that assisted her with my procedure, and did my xrays, was also very caring and easy to chat with to distract my thoughts.

Positive experience: Called and made an appt for teeth cleaning Ended up with just X-rays which were quite uncomfortable to say the least! Had a sensitive tooth that was quite sensitive, but the lady who. Was doing the X-rays was not gentle in any area of my mouth , I wasn't happy when I left. That dental chair!

After working for hospice for a few years l noticed how clean your office is, most hospitals and nursing homes are not clean. I was treated honestly and professionally by all involved in my future dental care. Which will be no small task. I feel my level of care will be high in maintaining my dental health. Fantastic experience: I've been seen by Dr. Abshar(Spelling) for the last 6 years and not only was he understanding, patient and kind despite my difficult case. Not only was he amazig his whole team has been phenomenal! Between Stephanie, Megan(working at a different location now) & Kristy as the office manager they have been pretty freaking awesome and have managed to help me try and find solutions unlike, some of my past dentists. So, while I know Dr. ABSHAR And Stephanie will be leaving, I trust that they will find a suitable replacement. It's going to be sad to see Stephanie leave also, seeing as she really does put herself in her patients shoes. Love this team, the receptionists are always friendly,(Sorry, I cant remember everyone's names, the dental hygienist (can't remember her name)is amazing also. So, when considering looking for a new dentist, they really are a great team, that genuinely cares about your care and the quality of life you have due to the work they do. 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic experience: The effort this team puts into my dental care far surpasses that of my military dental experience. Professional yet u feel like family. Which means you matter and to me, that matters. I love the dental care I received for over a yr and a half now.

Negative experience: When I called to get information I asked 2 questions. I didn't want x-rays that are cancer causing, and no shots. I was told no problem. When I drove to my appointment I was told if I didn't get x-rays I couldn't get my teeth cleaned. So I had to leave without getting my teeth cleaned. I was upset and very disappointed because it was clear that the people setting up appointments and the office don't use the same rules.

Fantastic experience: 10/5 stars - Lauri was amazing. When she numbed me I didn’t even feel it (and should’ve), I was shaking I was so scared and she put me at ease. By far the best hygienist I’ve been too, I will request her every time I need a cleaning or a shot. She was very informative and nurturing, even helped me with my appt time tremendously. I’ll recommend yall from this point on. (My mom even started going after seeing how great they were). To whoever reads her this, tell her I said thank you x100 for going above and beyond basic care for me.

Fantastic experience: I have a chipped tooth, with that comes anxiety. I’ve been hesitant to let anyone see, in fear of judgement. Yet, I didn’t feel uncomfortable to show my teeth, I felt like they cared & want to help me. It was a good first impression. I’m looking forward to my next appointment.

Fantastic experience: Coming from someone that always has anxiety and fear of any dental care, this place has a great comfort atmosphere. From the reception area to the back this team is wonderful. I'd like to point out that Dr. Maduro is AMAZING!!! She made me feel comfortable from the start and continued throughout my visit. I'd recommend her to anyone!!

Negative experience: This is the second time I went there and got turned away. This time it was for my daughter who is having bad pain in her mouth over an infection n they didn’t even check her do X-rays nothing and told us to go somewhere else so I wasted my gas once again and took my daughter out of school for no reason, thanks for no help.

Two crowns done today and boy was it rough. So much pain. Called after hours emergency number the pain is so bad, but sadly have not received a call back. Off to the E R because it's my only option. Not the treatment im used to. Hoping it was just an off day. So much pain. Update: apparently I'm just impatient. Dentist called, problem solved, Richmond Dental Rocks!!! Update 9-4-24. A pleasant visit with Dr. M today. My second visit with Dr. M, who is amazingly patient with this grumpy patient. Ten stars, 2 high fives and a fist bump for Doctor M and Stephanie, a true dental dream team. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✋✋

Fantastic experience: being a adult with major fear and anxiety about dental work being done. Dr and the whole staff went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable. The staff is very supportive and friendly and dedicated. I hope they keep this one. ( I forget her name but shes young and has red hair and is super nice) Iv been going to this place since I was a kid and I by far feel the most comfortable with this doctor and staff than a few previous doctors. Also they offer financial assistance options! Like care credit and sunbit.

Positive experience: Love the service & the staff are very friendly. I guess I'm the unlucky one. What's supposed to be an easy appointment always turns into a 2-3 hrs with a return trip. I understand things happen. But they have always been very good at trying to pencil me in.

Dr. Abshara is very good, bedside manner is great, he is gentle and shows genuine concerned about your pain level and your health over and above your teeth. I have been treated fantastic while there considering that there are drills involved!

Fantastic experience: I will never have enough great things to say about Richmond Dental! Their staff is above and beyond kind and will thoroughly explain everything to you if you ask. I’ve always loathed the dentist but look forward to coming here. I had three pretty bad cavities filled today, and it was painless beginning to end. 10/10 would recommend every time. :)

Fantastic experience: I would like to say how amazing Hope is and Dr. A. They are all wonderful people but Hope and Dr. A are my favorites! I would also like to say how amazing Stephanie is! Dr. A Hope and Stephanie are the only reason why I continue to keep going to Richmond dental clinic I've dealt with a lot of people that I don't like but those three people that I just named off are definitely the only reason why I would ever recommend this place to anyone! I'm leaving a 3-star rating and it is only for those people that I named off honestly for those people I named off I would rate them a five if I could individually but unfortunately this review is supposed to be for the entire office and unfortunately I cannot say a five star rating for The Office and it's not about the house and what it looks like it's about the people that work there especially the office people they're very very rude mean and disrespectful! So with that being said fire your receptionists and watch who you hire for new ones pay attention next time!

Fantastic experience: I think each time I come in there the staff is just better and better. The 2 ladies that assisted me today we're awesome. Shout out to the assistant that helped me today from the minute she walked me into the room till the end helping me schedule my future appointments with the receptionist (as I couldn't speak to well). I drive 40 miles now that I'm moved and still haven't thought about changing just yet to more local yet. That says it right there!

Positive experience: Great place, everyone is very friendly and nice. The only thing I don’t care for is all of the many many appointment confirmations I think I received at least a half dozen reminders from both text & email!! I personally only need 1 reminder maybe 2!

Positive experience: Everyone has been very kind and proficient. However, they are currently having problems staffing dentists. I had an appointment 2 days ago to get my temp crown replaced with permanent crown. This was a rescheduled appointment from a month ago when they called me the morning of and informed me that the new crown hadn't come in. We live 1.5 hours away. So, after leaving 4 voicemails, I get a new appointment. The crown doesn't fit as it was created without scanning my mouth (the machine had been down). They scanned my mouth to create new crown. They glued the faulty crown in place to use as a temp which came out on the drive home. No extra cost, except my and my husband's time. Update :I went back 3 weeks later and my crown wasn't even IN THE OFFICE with no call to inform it hadn't been delivered . Drove over 2.5 hours round trip. Gas and time wasted AGAIN!

Fantastic experience: The new office is just beautiful. Hope is just a fantastic hygienist light touch and always pleasant conversation. Today I had a visit with Tonya and the Dr. With red hair. She had a light touch and was understanding when I needed a little break while she was drilling. They made a nervous patient have a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this office as the staff is remarkable. Again another pleasant visit. Office is clean and the staff is fabulous

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience. Not much waiting, professional staff, great dentist and assistant. I had to get a temporary crown put on and at no time was I ever in any pain. The check out person was really kind to me as well.

Positive experience: Overall great experience so far. The cleaning has been no issues. However my numbing lasted forever!!! But good experience for a new dentist to me. We'll see how it goes
