Fantastic experience: I’ve never enjoyed going to the dentist, and I’ve done my best to avoid going for most of my adult life. But, the time came for me to go. I had tried another dentist in the area and shared my fears with him, but he didn’t care (and neither did the staff). That is not the case at Advance Dental. They are polite, kind, and friendly. The Dr takes his time, and checks in, making sure I am doing well regularly while I’m at my visit. I will never go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Newman and his staff are amazing! A big shoutout to the dental hygienist that assisted me today (I wished I remembered her name) but she was amazing. I am currently 7 months pregnant and she was very caring, did not rushed my appointment and made sure that I was feeling okay. I had to take a few breaks in between but she was very kind and understanding during my whole visit. Dr. Newman always makes me feel at ease and that I am actually been heard. The office staff is always very welcoming. 100% recommend

Fantastic experience: We’ve been with Dr Neuman and team since moving to GR in 2010 (based upon a recommendation of our daughter) and having ALWAYS been totally thankful for their incredible care. I have had a few after hour / weekend needs that Dr Neuman always took care of. The entire team is top flight. Julie and the other staff up front are always on top of everything so I don’t need to be which is really helpful when you forget about an upcoming appointment or need to reschedule. I’ve had multiple work done from cavities to crowns and Dr. Neuman has always done an incredible job. It feels really good to have a Dentist I can trust and is always looking out for my best interest.

A good friend here recommended him and we have been super pleased with all of his work. Not only is he a great dentist, he is a wonderful person to talk with. He is so personable and really seems to care about his patients. He doesn’t treat you like a number and go onto the next person without giving you some personal attention and showing some kindness. Believe it or not, I feel absolutely relaxed in her chair. Dr. Neumann has helped me when I was worried about an emergency dental situation. Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient of Dr. Neuman’s for the last 20 years I’ve been bringing my wife and daughter with me as well and love the family atmosphere that he and his staff provide for us. Truly passionate about providing only the treatment we need and explaining everything in detail step by step with out feeling rushed! Hygiene and front desk team are great especially when it comes to understanding my insurance which can be confusing. Best dentist in Grand Rapids. I highly recommend 10 out of 10 over all the years of experience here!!!

Negative experience: I had been going here for a little under a decade. When I was single (and able to drop thousands of dollars for dental work on the spot), all was well. Once I started a family and money became tight, things were not so well. Advanced Dental is very limited in financial options. It's pay now. They offered a payment option but only from a debit card and not an HSA account, which was baffling to me. We mentioned how not being able to use our HSA account for dental payments would be difficult for us, and we may have to go somewhere else. Their response was "wish you luck," just give up the money. No relationship, empathy, just about getting profit. The front desk ladies were short and lifeless. Everything seemed very impersonal. Worst dentist experience ever.

Most importantly, I always feel I can discuss any concerns with Dr. Rick or his staff and they actually listen and share any and all alternative solutions with me. Fantastic experience: I am someone who is quite terrified of the dentist. When looking for a new dentist, I was extremely particular about choosing the right place based on reading reviews. That's how I decided to become a patient with Advanced Dental back in 2016. I have had nothing but incredibly positive experiences with all of the staff and doctors here. I would recommend this place to anyone, as they care deeply about their patients, are transparent about costs, and willing to with you. Oh, and they always can get me an appointment pretty quick. But Doctor Neuman and everyone at Advanced Dental made me feel like there was hope to fix many of my teeth and made me feel like they were there to help, and I've never had a bad experience with the many times I've been there. If your worried about finding a dentist or how they will judge your teeth than this is the place to go. It's a judgement free zone full of people who want to help.

Julie in the office went above to make scheduling and the insurance process easy and seamless. Dani my dental assistant was timely with the x-rays and extremely knowledgeable with my options and their processes and Dr. Newman was quick and on point with his personal recommendations and how to move forward. 10/10

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Dr Neumann and his team. I've had consistently great service from them since 2016 and I hope that I never have to change dentists. The staff are always friendly, polite and attentive. The office is always clean & bright. Even the parking lot is somehow ALWAYS clean. I've had cleanings done by different hygienists over the years and they were all friendly, polite and great at their job. The stations are always immaculately clean and the pictures I took are what you'd see when you're sitting in the chair. Dr Neumann is just the best. He is always kind, upbeat and makes you feel welcome and taken care of. He's so enthusiastic about dentistry and quick to share knowledge and helpful hints that you can't help but be grateful for. I also want to add that if you are someone who hasn't had dental work or regular cleanings, and other dentists won't accept you as a patient for those reasons, contact this office and see if they can help.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been here twice now for an evaluation and a filling appointment and I won’t be going anywhere else! I was so nervous beforehand since I hadn’t been to a dentist in four years, but both experiences have been great! Everyone I’ve interacted with is so compassionate and kind. Danny and Dr. Neuman made sure I was completely comfortable, entirely pain free in my visit and had great patient education without any judgement. Also, Sarah at the front desk is so sweet! Negative experience: Relocated to GR and landed here based on all of the great reviews. I unfortunately have not had great experiences with this office. Front desk staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and very upfront about costs. Clinical staff has been rude, unprofessional, and has rushed through multiple services. My cleaning with the hygienist was very rushed and rough. I’ve never had a cleaning last just 15 minutes.. following this appointment I had planned to find a new dental office until I had an urgent dental issue arise. I made an emergency appointment for some additional bonding to a veneer I have, and was not even seen by the dentist. When I made the appointment over the phone, I was not informed that the services to fix my problem could not be done during this appointment, and that it would merely be an assessment by the assistant alone. While asking some clarifying questions to the assistant that was working with me, I was clearly an annoyance in her day reflected by her attitude and unprofessionalism. Not only was my problem not fixed, but my questions were left unanswered and again, I was never seen by Dr. Neuman. Altogether, clinical services and experiences were poor.

Negative experience: We didn’t really like Dr Newmans rapport. His office and some of his practices are outdated and almost all (I only ever saw one man on his staff and he was in the back on a computer) of his staff is young, attractive women which kind of gives me the creeps. We also found that after going for some fillings (this happened to me and my husband) that our feet were much more sensitive to cold and sweet things. This suggested to us that he is a bit rough and incomplete with his dental work. We didn’t have any problems with the routine cleanings. Overall I don’t really recommend this office but it wasn’t terrible.

Fantastic experience: Had to find a new dentist that accepts delta dental insurance. Very friendly crew, I had 2 cracked teeth I felt I was in and out before I realized they were done. Fantastic experience: As a family, we have been seeing Dr. Newman and Dr. Newman for about 10 years. We feel so lucky to call this our dental home. Recently, we had a loved one visiting from out of state and he had a dental emergency - their office was able to help get us in, work with us on payments and made us feel so supported. The other day, my 10 year old had some teeth extracted to support her ortho work - Dr. Newman did a great job with her and even called us that evening to check in on her! Who does that!? All the hygienists and receptionists are just lovely people too - if you're looking for knowledgeable dentists with a staff that makes you feel like you belong, look no farther.

My husband and I have 6 Kids and they always work our appointments in so that all 6 of them can be seen at the same office visit instead of having to make multiple trips for us busy families. Dr. Neuman and his team are the best of the best!

Fantastic experience: It's true what the doctor said to me during our first meeting "Hello. Welcome, Jenny! You part of our family now!" Everyone I met from the front desk, dental hygienist assistants to the doctor himself were all very warm, welcoming and friendly and passionate about their jobs and more importantly making me feel comfortable, especially during my first initial consultation. I can only imagine what my first appointment will be like next month. Great vibes, great atmosphere!
